Our room was so nice. In the lake tower on the 14th floor. Great views! There nothing we didnt like.
Great location, close to shopping and other activities Hotel room has no fridge or microwave, only hotel I've ever stayed at that dudnt have both in the room
bathtub and shower feature is good, bathroom counter space is good, two separate vanity/sink areas is good, refrigerator in room is good, chaise was uncomfortable, mattress was uncomfortable, pillows were not comfortable, they were down and they flattened out to nothing, lighting was poor and the drawer space for clothing was poor, dresser is old outdated and banged up. Rooms need updating.
Close to concert. Great room with a view of Lake Tahoe. Starbucks conveniently located close to the elevators. Bed was not very comfortable. We stayed across the street at Harrahs last time and the bed was better. However, we liked the room much better at Harvey's.
The rooms were very nice; great bathroom, comfortable bed, and the casino was nice as well. Strange arrangement of the electrical outlets. No real easy place to charge your phone and be able to access it in bed unless you happened to bring an extension cord with you.
Too many broken down elevators
We liked everything. Rooms were awesome with comfortable beds, very clean and updated bathrooms, food was excellent, gambling was great, and a perfect location for shopping or to do anything around the lake. Can't wait to stay again.
Cleanliness and Friendliness of the hotel
The room smelled odd. The shower barely worked - super low flow and the hot water didn't last long at all. The heater in my room broke and they could not fix it or move me to a better room so I was freezing cold the entire time. No customer service to make up for the poor quality and experience I had. Overall just an awful experience. Should have stayed at Harrah's and paid the extra $100 for their hotel. Not happy at all.
Room and bed
Cleanliness of the hotel was consistent. I had to stay at two nights in two different rooms in the 18th floor which they gave me a perfect view of the fireworks during the opening of the gold tournament. Especially the cleanliness of both rooms was satisfied. I loved the valet free parking except tips only. The second night I thought the front desk would rush the room to be ready within the time I checked out the first night but they called after fee hours. Also no one ever answered the front desk when I called from the room in the morning.
Clean and nice. Was impressed with service and the people Nothing. They did a great job!
The free breakfast The overly expensive room service
1. We did not get the room we ordered (we ordered dbl queen bed and got single king) 2. The toilet were flooded, it took them over 2 hours to fix and 2 phones. 3. It took them 3 phones and over 2 hours to get to us blanket for the sofa bed (We did not get then Dbl Queen) 4. The valet car retrieving our car took almost an HOUR !!, and we lost ski time.
Close to restaurants, entertainment and gondola to Heavenly resort
Hot tub, free breakfast, spacious rooms. Slow / unreliable internet, especially during busy weekends.
Free hot breakfast. room felt dirty. My daughters feet were dirty on the bottom after walking on the carpet.
Great sized rooms Wifi poor Kept cutting out and needed rebooting
- Nice location near heavenly village, hotels and attractions - Horse carriage ride just outside the hotel (not affiliated to the hotel) - Very clean room. - Got excellent view of the lake and mountains. - Good room service. - Very courteous staff all around including front desk, valet, bell desk, concierge and breakfast. - Safe area around where you can walk around even late in the night. - Breakfast was excellent with good choices. - Room had a separate living room and bedroom with 2 queen beds. No fresh air fan in the bathroom. There is no parking other than Valet. So you have to pay 19 dollars along with 15 dollars resort fee. It's good they separate it so people flying don't have to pay for parking, but those who drive should have some place to park for free. Such a big hotel that it was hard to find a place to sit for breakfast in the morning. Walls were thin and you could hear noise from other rooms and outside. 15 dollar resort fee only gives 3 Mbps internet which buffered while watching online movies.
Great location, cleanliness, and price Tiny body towels in bathroom after shower, it would be nice if they were bigger
The rooms were nice. It's very much an Embassy Suite style hotel. I believe that it was at one time. So we had a bedroom and a living area with a couch, chair, tv and dining table. It was nice having a microwave and small refrigerator. The front desk staff was very nice and the valet were super nice! It was an extremely busy weekend and even after working all day non-stop in the freezing cold, they greeted us with a smile and were very friendly. I will definitely stay there again. Normally I don't post negatives but there were just two things that really bothered me. 1. We attempted to eat that the Echo restaurant in the hotel. We waited at the podium for at least 15 minutes and not one of the staff came to help us. As a matter of fact we counted at least 6 people that looked at us and just kept doing what they were doing. No "we will be right with you", no "let me get someone for you". Nothing! That was completely uncalled for. 2. When the maid came to service our room, she did not do the greatest job. No vacuuming, which the floor definitely needed, and the bathroom floor should have been cleaned too. That gave me a little bit of an uneasy feeling about cleanliness. I realize they were busy but they need to make sure that they are thorough when it comes to cleaning.
Very nice and clean beds Pool to chlorinated and cold
Great location and price. Very clean and the indoor pool is great for the kids in Winter. Complimentary breakfast was good for the whole family. Perfect room with King bed in bedroom, hide-a-bed in living room for kids. Two sinks in room made it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. Living room TV did not work- they offered to send someone to fix it. Monday the breakfast was very crowded and half of the dining hall was closed, so we had to wait several minutes for an open table.
Location Horrible service
Nothing Room smelled like smoke.gym was outdated.
Staff was friendly. Rude noisy neighbors kept us both up from 2am until 430 am both nights!
I loved the my stay! Everything is offered right inside the hotel, staff was amazing! Casino was super fun! Dinner at the Forrest buffet was great and the hotel had tons of extras (pool, arcade, bar, etc) I would def recommend this to any family and friends wanting to visit Tahoe
The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to do a late check out and change rooms due to an unpleasant odor. The original room may have just had a family stay and there was a lingering smell of diapers. But our room was changed immediately and the hotel happily accommodated my request to be on a high floor away from the elevators. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The two bathrooms was actually a huge help in getting ready. The view from the bar on the top floor for cocktails was lovely. I think my cons have more to do with my own selection. I wish I had chosen a smaller more boutique style hotel because this one and its brother Harvey's are behemoths along the lake. If you are looking for something really romantic this probably isn't it. Every room is identical and blah design. But if you know what you're going for, it's perfectly acceptable.
The rooms were a great value, clean and comfortable. Having two full baths in one room was very nice. They accommodated our request to have each room on the same floor. The Forest Buffet - Seafood was a great value. Our room was closer to the elevator and that was a slight distraction. One family member had to call security twice for rowdy neighbors.
Poor check in service. No comps.
Great room with 2 full bathrooms. No complimentary coffee or water in the rooms.
Upgraded to an amazing suite had a wonderful dinner at Friday's steakhouse.
The location is great. A bit run down.
My boyfriend and I stayed in a newly renovated room! It was lovely and we loved that it had two bathrooms. They asked for a $50 deposit and I've never had that at a hotel which I thought was odd.
The room we got was excellent. Twin Queen bed and two full bathrooms. Room was excellent. No breakfast, no kettle in room, no fridge, no complemtary coffee, no free movie channels and above all, NO GREE WIFi
I would stay there again!!! The Valet Was Very Friendly and the room was very cozy. Great Beds! Wonderful place to stay.
We left a blazer and it was stolen either by the next guestor the staff
Covered parking lot. No indoor pool. No hot tub. No sauna. Slow elevators. Rooms were small and bathroom was very basic. Something you would expect in a Motel 6.
Covered parking Room smelled Heater/AC didn't work properly, so sleep was not great due to temp in room Staff rude and abrasive with myself at check in and with others waiting to check in and check out For the OBSCENE PRICE OF $300/night for what you get, including a $22 undisclosed Resort fee which is a joke because this is NOT a resort---blatant rip off of customer that is not included in KAYAK on line reservations, I would not stay here again.
Had 12 people in front of us in line. Waited for 1.5 hours in this short line. Don't understand why ????
The bathrooms were really bad. Half redone and half still from 1965. And really bad mold issues. The beds are nice, which is the only saving grace here. BUT - there were a lot of ghosts haunting the place and I had terrible sleep. If you are dying for casino style evening, go across the street! Way better value, way better rooms.
Check in took over 5 hours, room had no AC, was given a food credit for our troubles and the staff was downright rude. I felt like we were treated like lower class citizens because we booked through KAYAK - we were at the front of this mob of people waiting to get our toom, we were there for hours longer than most but we're one of the last people to get a room. This was by far the most stressful vacation I've ever been on. Never staying in this hotel again - definitely recommending AGAINST this hotel to my friends and family. Nothing
It was a very nice experience at the Hard Rock hotel for my family and myself. Hotel personal were very helpful. Room didn't get cleaned, while our stay there.
Don't know. Weven were turned away 15 miles from Lake Tahoe. We never got there. Driving a rental from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe on Christmas Eve, we were turn away about 15 miles before Lake Tahoe because state Highway patrol was requiring snow chains and or all wheel drive to continue on. We called Hard Rock as well as KAYAK / Get a Room - they agreed to cancel the reservation but would not return any $240 nightly room charge. Do the right
Atmosphere, location, customer service and everything in between! Rooms were clean, spacious and beds were comfortable! $200 deposit sucked.. only because it takes 5-7 business days to refund your debit card.
Barely location in proximity to restaurants and village shopping mall. Just about everything. Immediately walking in smelled like smoke and it only gets worse when you try to eat onsite at their only eateries located right next to casino floor. Horrible locations for food choices. We attempted to but it was overwhelming to walk through and service for seating was so bad we walked out. One elevator was broken and we were on 6th floor which turn into longer than usual waits. Shower ran cold in morning off and on. People were "squatting" all over the hotel and even the hostess at check in admitted they had a problem with people checking out on time and well into the P.M. , hence she may not have my room avaialable. Just really bad experience and for a huuuuuuuge price. Our stay at the Hyatt ON Lake Tahoe was cheaper, way better service and during the same time frame. Bypass if you have the choice or stay if your a smoker who wants to gamble and spend lots on the name of Hard Rock. Oh yeah last nugget, they aren't even a Hard Rock hotel, the owner bought the naming rights from hard rock but they aren't under the corporate Hard Rock and that explains a lot.
We been wait for 4 hours to get the room and the room was not clean and the receptionist was very mean.
The overall experience was good. Housekeeping wasn't the best.
I am single father , I had promised my daughter to take her to Tahoe to play in snow. over the Thanksgiving holidays. I booked a room via get a room It was a good deal,. I have been going to this hotel, since it was Cesar Tahoe, a world class place 28 years ago,.I love their swimming pool and their spa. When , my brother learned about our trip , he also booked in the same hotel. They have a 1 yr old child, they checked in to the 15th floor, In the evening , when they were trying to put the baby to sleep , their hotel room opens up and another group of guest walks in , The Montbleu had double booked their room. When we checked in, the bell person brought our luggage up to our room , I tipped him generously, but he did not even a say simple Thank u. I was in shock. I felt insulted, the bell person , the hispanic guy ,was exercising power and making a statement. following day, when i tried to pay my bill at cafe del sol, after having breakfast, the cashier treated me like a criminal , and outlaw as their computer showed our room 707 is vacant. They want to see my ID. I cried out , my luggage and belongings and ID are still in the room. after 15 minutes argument with embarrassment in front of my daughter and other guest , the Cafe manager , made it sound like as she is doing me a favor by accepting my credit card for the payment.of our breakfast. she said, i am going to this one time. I said , thank u very much After , breakfast , i went to the front desk to inquire about our room showing vacant and they may double book the room with our belongings in the room , but not a simple apology was made. The front desk who was he/she or she/he said sorry very Sarcastically. We checked out that day, making our trip short, i did not feel comfortable and did not feel safe to stay there for another night. sure , things have changed in that place. Never mind the lack of customer service or making u feel welcomed, the presence of prejudice, and employee's ignorance and attitude , lack of management and lack of security screams out. Shame on you and your employees Montbleu. I am forwarding profanity in every language to your establishment for such a horrible and ugly experience. Shame on you. It surely not a family place, It definitely a smoker's place The smell of cigarette is overwhelming. You may walk out of that casino with the lung Cancer. Staff are rude and illiterate and uncivilized with no common sense. When you are at Cafe Del Sol, there is a excessive vibration and Noise surrounding you as there is a 747 Jet is getting ready for take off. While we were there, the Swimming pool was closed. The Steam room is never hot enough ,
Nice manager and Diego at the front desk. Cafe Del Sol breakfasts were great. Very, very dirty. Rooms were dirty. Nobody to clean them. Many public bathrooms dirty, no toilet paper. Some front desk staff were rude. Not good customer service. Poor communication. No manager on staff until after noon. A lot of angry customers complaining about the no maid service and dirty rooms. Stained sheets and pillow cases.
The additional service fee for no service
I liked the spa No microwave
Casino was decent although table minimums were incredibly high for this area. I mean on the strip in Vegas it's common to see $15 tables at nicer hotels but $25 here at Montbleu is a joke especially for the level of service! Staff was incredibly rude and offered no help to guests! A member in our party paid for early check in and was told his room would not be available until 10:00PM! They said they would refund the resort fee (which let's be honest..what the hell is the resort fee really for) and his room NEVER became availble. He slept on our couch. Unacceptable! They said there were only 2 housekeepers on staff to clean rooms and that they were going as fast as they can. No managers were available to speak to for 2 1/2 days (they told us they had too much OT so no one was here except the hotel manager, which ignored all guests requests to speak to him.) Unfortunately we were not alone...there were at least 25 other parties in the same situation as us!
I stayed here with my 7 yr old son during a sledding trip. Basically, I chose this place for the pool, and that part of our stay was good. Our room was nice enough too. What I still cannot get over was the stank of the casino, which was really fowl and dominated all of the public areas of the hotel, except for the pool area. A lesser peeve was the lingerie shop, which was super tacky & bizarre, with mannequins all sexed up in the windows. Not a family friendly feature. And just ewww. Maybe my bad for expecting otherwise from a casino. I won't be returning.
That we checked out early and went somewhere much better!!! This is a poor excuse for a hotel. They claim they've done $25 million in room renovations, but it's more like $25 dollars a room. No microwave, no refrigerator (even in suites from what the operator told me) the hotel had a generalized stench to it, I best described it as it smells like someone was crop dusting the whole time. Very overcrowded! I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here, even for a cheapened room rate we've stayed in much better in the area. AVOID!
Requested rollaway bed and it took them 5 hours to bring a completely old, dirty and torned rollaway bed without bedding...
The mountain view from room was amazing
Got reservation done through kayak. Hotel did not have reservation request till day of arrival till I reached front desk. Getaroom customer support was called multiple times but had no way to help. Finally hotel VIP service manager helped to give us the room at 7 pm. We arrived at the hotel at 4.00pm. We wasted our evening at the hotel front desk.
Staff was courteous. We saw a concert which was great except for the "lounge" style seating at tables. We had a good stay. The facilities were a bit dated. The lack of automatic doors was difficult because we had bikes and it was hard to get them in and out.
The service was amazing and staff were very accommodating. Our room was beautiful and the spa was glorious The reading couch in the room was not super comfy but it was a pull out so no biggie
The staff, decor and small, thoughtful touches were great. I thought the restaurant, Jimmys, was overpriced for the quality of the food. Menu did nothing for us.
Restaurant was excellent - both for lunch and dinner. Sommelier was very knowledgeable and approachable. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Got great restaurant recommendations from one of the valets. Room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and attractive. Radiant floor heat in the bathroom was a nice touch. Free on-site parking with valet service. Great location - not in the thick of things, so quiet, but easy access to South Lake and the rest of the Lake. Nothing.
Location was great, perfect for the lake. Jimmy's restaurant was very nice and the wait staff were great! We booked a pet friendly room for our dog, we were told we could only stay on the ground floor next to the lake car park. It was very noisy and the nightly cost did not match my experience. I am a seasoned traveler and this was not good value for money.
Staff is excellently trained. Very professional. Rooms are big and comfortable. Restaurant is nothing short of excellent. it is worth staying at the hotel just for the restaurant.
My wife and I were greeted by the valet/concierge gentlemen right away and were offered a glass of cold champagne! Set the standard for the rest of the stay and they didn't disappoint! Love this place and see ourselves coming here for many years to come! Didn't like that my sister in law's room was in a totally different building than ours, but understandable given the layout and they were completely booked that weekend. Also couldn't believe her room was much larger and nicer than our premium lake view king, given our room was $80 more per night. But the view made up for it. After all, it was only for one night.
All was perfect Except the restaurant
The staffs are the best and helpful. The restaurant closes early 9.30pm and no other food or drink service late hours.
1. There was no hot water in the morning when outside temperature is -8 C and they couldnt seem to care about it.
It was very clean modern luxury The $29 for parking too much and they charged us for 4 parking days instead of 3 and the guy didn't know how to fix it it was elaborate he called pkg they agreed we fldidnt have an extra car then he handed me back the paper and we had a stare off lame So I said no more dialogue I need to go fix it !! He did but he pouted didn't apologize it's probably hard to get good help up there
Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen, multiple living spaces, gorgeous views, beautiful living spaces, great for large groups.
I love that it is so convenient to everything! I only had to use my car twice during my whole trip. Everything was walking distance! I'm not sure what had happened but my car had valet parking. And they returned my car with wheel/ tire was flat
Staff was wonderful! Best service I have ever had! From beginning to end!
The front desk manager is super rude. Our request was not at all heard. This attitude towards customer is not helpful. The parking lot allotted to us was already taken. The internet wifi service kept dropping every 5 minutes. The courtesy to listen to customer and to come up with a solution. Blaming customers in a rude manner. The wifi never worker for more than 5 min. Yahoo is accessible but google services are not. The parking allotted is already assigned to someone else.
Pool and jacuzzi , great clean comfy king bed , private balcony , friendly staff Didnt realize was dog friendly, you can tell by the smell of the room there have been pets. Room was clean but had lingering pet odor.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, well-kept, great location, quiet, and overall I enjoyed my stay. They upgraded me too, as there was a problem with my original room... If you can afford it, get a suite. Sooooooo awesome. Also, everything you'll need is within walking distance. Pet friendly, but I think there's an extra charge. You can rent a DVD player for $5 a day if you forget your Xbox/PS4, and there's a Redbox at the Raileys a few blocks away. Ceiling fan sounded like a 747 about to take off. At first I thought "Oh cool, retro-steampunk kinda thing"... But no. It was just really really old. Looks like they do update and renovate often and honestly, a fan isn't a big deal in early November. The fireplace worked just fine!!
Really comfortable bed, annoyinh ladies staying next to us, needs a recycling program and updated carpet and cabinetry.
Got acces to private beach which was close by and also very close to the village and casinos. Nothing that I didn't like.
Location, quiet, The parlour suite had a very small kitchen and oddly placed table in living room posing as a dining table. The wall paper did not fit the rustic wood feel.
I like the fact that everything was cleaned daily during our stay and had all the amenities needed. We were able to cook and had plenty of room for guests and entertainment. The manager took care of all our needs. They had a bit of a bug issue but you could tell it was being treated. We brought out boat and trailer so parking was a bit of an issue.
The location was perfect for our short trip to Lake Tahoe and allowed for walking to most of South Lake Tahoe's points of interests. The hotel is an authentic mountain lodge motel with cute, updated decor and well-maintained grounds. The staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub on a cool fall day. The parking was very limited and we were unable to find a spot at all on two occasions. The mattresses in our room were far too worn, although the bedding was fresh and quite clean. We were also kept awake multiple times as the floors/walls are quite thin- you could hear the people above talking and walking in their room. (This is probably a reflection of the age of the building, but was distracting nonetheless.)
This is our second stay. Hotel staff is very friendly and willing to help out an any manor. The hotel was very clean considering they allow animals. No issues with any pest. Walk distance to restaurants and the lake. Mattresses need an up grade.
It had a nice cabin feel to it while being far from rustic
The rooms were spacious and remodeled. There is an extra table with 2 chairs at the foot of the bed, which seem out of place and not necessary. Better to put in the corner of the room. The location is great! Walking distance to the beach and to the village, the stores, etc. Bed was comfortable, but the pillows were a brick. jacuzzi was nice and spacious. Really liked the 2 tier jacuzzi. According to Priceline, the check in was at 3pm. We got there at 3:05 and our room was still not ready. The staff said check in was not til 4pm, and they would call us when it was available. There were 2 other families that got their room keys right after us, which is off putting. I gave them my number and NEVER got a call. We decided to go back to the hotel around 5:45pm and the room had JUST gotten done they said... this is not acceptable. The next day, we left the room early to go do daytime activities around 8:30am. We left the tag for room service and when we got back at 5:30pm, our room was still not done. As we were leaving for the pool, the housekeeper came and asked us if we wanted room service. I guess she was behind schedule, I don't know. The parking can be difficult if the hotel is full. Towels were like sand paper. Not really a "resort" feel.
Excellent location, walking distance from beach and facilities. Although the room had a full kitchen, it had almost no equipment/utensils and no place to sit for meals. It would take very little investment for them to improve this. Our room was on the first floor and we could hear footsteps from the room above. Luckily our upstairs neighbors where quiet! We stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and the worsening conditions were noticeable.
The remodel of this hotel was superbly done, the rooms were spacious and clean and the beds were super comfy. The outdoor lawn with fire pits, hot tub and open air bar was great after a long day of hiking. The staff was clueless. My husband and I asked for a place to get breakfast sandwiches before setting out on a day hike and we were recommended a 21 and over strip club, at 8 am!! They left messes laying around for days at a time, literally (there was a concert across the street at one of the casinos and the after math of beer bottles, food containers and other debris on one of the hotel patios was left uncleaned for almost two days!) we even asked a staff member about the mess because we wanted to enjoy the view from the patio and he just laughed and said "yeah, they really made a mess huh."
Everything about this hotel is great. No detail is missed. Great price and great experience. Can't bet the location either.
Basecamp has succeeded in facilitating a communal, hostel-like vibe while maintaining a higher-end boutique hotel, something that I've never encountered at other hotels like this. The hamburger and bratwurst grill in Basecamp's grassy courtyard were much needed after a long summer day at the lake. I'd definitely come back again. The picnic benches in the courtyard are sketchy. Mine was super wobbly but I was sober so I never took a spill. Though, my friends and I watched several people who may have had a few too many flip off their benches while sitting around the fire pit. I'd just suggest the staff replace these benches before someone gets litigious on Basecamp!
Great place with very friendly people. Hipster ambience is created by cool style and design. Aesthetically it's a very pleasant place, not every Taho vacation has to be in an old cabin with a lot of orange wood and musty smell (if you know what I'm talking about). Hip and young place with make-your-own waffle breakfast and smores kits available for $2 at the reception (I've been doing those every night!!). Parking lot is a bit tight. No decaf coffee for breakfast.
Love, love, love this place! Very clean and no usual hotel vibe. I wish my apartment was that great. Nice wooden accents throughout the room. They did a great job updating the place. The staff is super responsive and willing to help and there's someone at the front desk 24/7 Everything felt and looked like they really care and want to provide the best possible experience Big windows that open! So it's easy to air out the room. Comfortable beds Free s'more kits. So you can jump into the hot tub on the roof and then enjoy some s'mores by the fire pit Free 24 hr very good coffee Nice continental breakfast with yoghurt, granola, blueberries, bagels, cream cheese and pastries Mostly younger friendly crowd and families with kids We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night on top of the three nights we already booked. And they matched the initial price of booking.com Great price for the room, considering other hotels around. It was off season though Could use more storage space/hangers in the room as well as in the bathroom Pillows were not very comfortable Bathroom and shower are a little cramped Some guests smoked right in front of the rooms and no one was keeping tabs on that There's no refrigerator or microwave in any of the rooms. For families traveling with small children that's a big deal. Though, the staff was nice enough to let us store food in their fridge
room cute, clean. Lots of pillows. No elevator!!! I had to climb two flights with heavy bags and two bikes. Staff were somewhat indifferent. No AC. No TV channel guide.
Rooms are design, clean and confortable. Staff is wonderful, dynamic, helpful. Ecologic style. Very good breakfast, homemade style, with not too much food: super ! No coffee maker in the room.
The whole stay was great from the start. The staff was very welcoming, and Baseline was such a unique experience from beginning to end. The location was walking distance to everything we wanted to do, and we absolutely loved our experience. Highly recommend!!! The only thing we didn't particularly enjoy was the thin walls in between the rooms, and the quality of the TV. But those were minuscule issues, we loved our experience.
Location, breakfast Small room
great location, breakfast included, comfortable bed unfriendly staff, esp. reception, and throughout our stay, we encountered a few problems
The 24/7 warm pool and hot tub area is amazing especially when swimming late night. :) Servicing was excellent from facility cleaniness to customer care. I thought I paid a lot for the one night value but it worth every penny! Bed sizes were full and not queen. We were a family of 4 tall people and it was not very comfortable for 2 people in one full size bed. Queen size would be good if possible!
Free full breakfast included in hotel stay was a great perk. Clean, safe, small, inexpensive when you just need a simple place to stay for a night or two.
Free breakfast Backed up tub drain
Well-located close to the hustle and bustle of the casinos and the Heavenly gondola but far enough away to quiet. Nice rooms but not de luxe. Two-night minimum stay for weekends.
Location Dirty rooms, roches , and dirty pillows
Great location, great stay Just could of used a microwave
the staff, cleanliness, coziness, location, very helpful with sightseeing suggestions
Great management, excellent rooms. Located centrally, within walking distance of State Line & Heavenly Plaza, but away from the main traffic where it's pretty tranquil. Nice walks to the beach in multiple directions.
Nice clean, quiet room. Comfortable bed. Soft sheets. Thick towels. Sound like home? Well kept property in South Lake Tahoe's stateline hotel area. The bathroom in our unit looked recently remodeled and they did a fantastic job in doing the work. What wasn't mentioned in their room descriptions was the fireplace heating unit in the room. It added yet another nice little touch of home. Owner and staff were very nice and helpful. Will definitely be booking Alpenrose Inn from now on when we go to Tahoe.
The management was very accommodating to the few requests we made. Very comfortable 10 days with everything we needed for an inexpensive and pleasant stay. Only steps away from casinos, restaurants, shopping, theater and gondola to top of mountain. Excellent value! Nothing
This was a great stay. The room was close to the parking lot, bed was comfortable, wifi was reliable, and my partner and I got a good night's rest. Of course you can't expect 5 star experience (whatever that is), but for a ton of privacy, clean and comfortable room and bed, and the distance from there to the beach/shopping center, for the price ($70~/night) it was awesome! The continental breakfast was limited (cereal, orange juice, alright cinnamon buns, oatmeal, coffee, tea, apples and bananas). It was probably first-come, first-serve, yet no one told us of this policy or when it started (7am-9am). I recommend staff to tell us when it is available and what is included. I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast.
Blissfully quiet! Simple breakfast every morning, in room coffee pot, microwave and mini-fridge with freezer was perfect for our stay. Kept our snacks and sodas cool and allowed us to brew our own coffee and tea. Microwave was a bonus to reheat leftovers from the local restaurants. Steps away from Harvey's and Harrah's and Heavenly Village. Cute and delish taco stop next door. Walk to the beach equipped with beach front dinning. Comfy bed! Slept better here than at home - okay, that may have been because we got away from the kids. Excellent wifi, and plenty of TV and HBO. We are telling everyone about this hidden jewel; for the money, its as good as it gets. The motels with numbers in their names charge twice as much for 1/2 the comfort and even less amenities. We are already looking ahead to book again. Still can't get over how wonderfully quiet this corner of the universe was at all hours of the day and night. We would have loved an outdoor hot tub, but not a big deal. They have rooms with spa tubs, and next time we'll book one of those rooms!
The room size was good as was the location, within walking distance to Harrahs. Not a big deal, but the hot water took a few minutes to warm up from freezing cold.
The location was very close to the casinos We ordered a room with a Jacuzzi tub and the tub was broke but they gave us our money back so that was OK
It was economical and ideal since we just wanted a place to sleep while visiting. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. Beds were fine. Included a pass to the nearby beach. Only a few things were not good: The window blinds didn't darken the room very much, and the provided breakfast in the morning was very basic: two cereals, some donuts, and coffee, milk, & OJ.
Great value, very helpful staff, highly recommended.
Price location privacy You get what you pay for nothing to dislike. Would stay again.
The location was great It has a musty smell, the bottom sheet was not a fitted sheet so if I turned over I would take the sheet with me and be laying on the bare mattress :(. The bathrooms were not super clean.
Breakfast was better than I had expected. Room was overall comfortable and clean. Limited parking at night. Rooms are not very sound proof.
Location was central to everything. Breakfast was hot and good variety of food. Too noisy at night. Me and my family were kept up by a noisy neighbors who were drunk, screaming, and banging on the doors from 12am-430am. Horrible!! I had to call the police and hotel management, but it didn't help much. We had a big headache in the morning. Ruined our next day.
