Breakfast. Usual salty fried stuff. Nothing special. Dinner. Sirloin steak took a quite bit of chewing. Room. Cosy. Badly creaking floorboards need sorting though . Toilet, Needs shelf to store toiletries. Shower. Thermostat works from hot to v.hot only.
Food was very good.
Although the room was fairly clean, the shower we felt needed a good clean. The room generally needed freshening up.
We loved this Inn. The staff, accommodations, food, service, cleanliness were just wonderful. We enjoyed The Inn at Kippen so much we extended our stay an extra day! We would certainly recommend staying here and would love to come back!
The only thing I can even think it could use is a towel hook near the sink in the bathroom, a very minor thing. Everything else was wonderful!
The friendliness of staff/owners, the cleanliness of the whole place. The location was good nice and quiet. Even though the pub was below my room the noise level was totally acceptable as it wasn't to loud. I will highly recommend staying here and will definitely be staying again.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. Sadly there was no Chef for meals at night as the Chef didn't start till Sunday morning. The Breakfast was fantastic. My wife and I were told there wasn't a Chef on saturday night so we had to go elsewhere for dinner. Please note whoever is reading my comments this is in no way a complaint as I don't have any complaints what so ever.
we were asked to pay the full amount for 2 nights. Having paid they then told us that dinner which we had booked earlier was unavailable as the kitchen was closed but said the Cross Keys Inn round the corner would give us dinner. Unfortunately they were extremely busy and initially said they could not give us a table. The Patron relented thankfully and we were eventually given an excellent dinner at Cross Keys. We were also told at the Inn that the only breakfast available was a cooked breakfast. Very annoying to have paid for 2 nights and then find advertised basic facilities i.e. food unavailable.
Breakfast involved no fruit juice no cereal and toast with butter only. The bar was locked and in darkness at 9pm on Saturday evening. Our nice waitress looked very nervous as she unlocked the door for us. We noticed that a bedroom door had been seriously damaged since morning . On Saturday afternoon it had been very busy with wild types. We heard in the village that the chefs are always walking out. Previous reviews in the Guardian and the Sunday Times said the cuisine was excellent. The place must have changed hands and gone downhill since then.
