B&B Il Monchetto - Urbino - Building
1
9.5 Excellent (251 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in an 18th-century building with garden, B&B Il Monchetto offers rooms 2 km from the centre of Urbino. While some rooms have wood-beamed ceilings, rooms are furnished with terracotta floors, and have views over Urbino and a flat-screen TV. The private external bathroom comes with a bath, shower and bidet. A continental breakfast breakfast is served daily in the common area, including freshly brewed coffee or tea, sweet pastries, home-made cakes and cold cuts. Pesaro is a 45-minute drive from Il Monchetto B&B, while Urbania is 25 km away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good an quit location Cosy and very clean. An old charming place. Good bed very good breakfast and friendly host.
Cons: Nothing, although the city is hardly not reachable by walking. You have to use the car.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice project, however it needs a car to reach it.
Cons: Host rigidity - the refuse of offering a second coffee in Italy is not genuine. The bath (shower) does not have ventilation at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and well kept accommodation. Quiet location, nice view to Urbino. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Minor things, otherwise almost perfect! Hosts just speak Italian, fortunately it was not a big problem for us. We asked for an iron for our clothes upon arrival but in that big house there was no iron available. It was a bit strange as it seemed to us we are asking for something absolutely special... Breakfast was - especially compared to Italian standards - very good (tasty ham and cheese, etc.) but as we stayed 3 nights it was every morning exactly the same. No eggs (although they are selling own eggs), no vegetables, no fruits.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.

Located in Urbino, Urbino Resort is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Museo Storico della Linea Gotica and House of Raphael. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and is very well taken care of. The choice of breakfast is great. Also really liked that you could buy the wines and other products that are made at the resort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Urbino Resort comfortably exceeded our expectations and we would very happily return. We particularly enjoyed the wine tour of the estate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! A peacefull place!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location on a wine estate near Urbino, accessed via a long private road, so secluded and quiet. Beautifully landscaped grounds and vineyards right up to the door. Well appointed rooms in a series of buildings so short walk was needed to get to excellent breakfast or the swimming pool or the spa. Pool area was well used, good sized pool and sufficient loungers for most people. Our room was contemporary and sparsely furnished - there was plenty of room for one or two comfortable chairs, but only a giant pouffe to sit on. No pictures on the walls. Good storage/wardrobe/dressing area, air conditioning extremely effective. Large bathroom with huge oval bath - no separate shower, hard to stand up in the bath to use the shower - loads of hot water. On-site restaurant was in fact 1km walk through the vineyard - it was excellent with friendly, efficient staff and set beside a lake, so really pretty - worth the walk but a bit of a surprise that it was so far from the rooms.
Cons: No chairs in the bedroom - plenty of room for two armchairs which would have added to the comfort. Guests were encouraged to walk the 1km through the vineyard to the beautiful restaurant - a stunning stroll, well lit for the return in the dark; however a complimentary golf buggy service (or similar) to ferry people in the rain, especially older guests, would have been good. We drove the car one evening during a particularly heavy thunderstorm - we would have been drenched otherwise.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The landscape, peacefulness, the space- you never feel crowded.
Cons: No bathroom ventilation, only the bedroom had insect net at the Window, the other Doors didn’t have. The stone floor was allways dirty of dust-you can feel it on your feet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful resort, nicely restored
Cons: A bit far from nice places

8.8 Excellent
Pros: View and location. Also very clean.
Cons: Hard beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I reserved this hotel while we were driving from Rome to Venice. Loved the hotel as soon as I arrived. Very kind staff (mostly sure are the owners) both at the reception and for breakfast, which is served in a patio with a stunning view. Rooms are big, comfortable and super clean. Internet was OK too
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great place in an amazing location. The facilities were very good and the breakfast was great (with an astonishing view!). A great place for a weekend of relaxation, a romantic travel, or just for a trip to visit Urbino.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast can be improved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful breakfast room overlooking the valley and good selection of breakfast items (including an excellent cappuccino - hand made!)
Cons: Use of the swimming pool should be included in the room reservation; we shouldn't have to pay for spa services to use the pool.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great! Although on the longer side we walked to and from Urbino. The place was v clean. I suggest getting a room w a terrace as the views are amazing. Staff v friendly. The breakfast was ok. There were a lot of cakes and sweet pastries, but if u wanted something savory very limited. The wellness center did not appear to b manned that often. Every time I went down no one was there. Looked well appointed and I was keen to have a massage but I was not able to fine someone to talk to. When I went to the reception to ask my Italian is v limited and the man behind the desk had no English at that particular time, so we found it hard to communicate abt the wellness center. The place was charming, easy to park and spectacular views.
Cons: The breakfast could have more savory items such as eggs.
Albergo Italia - Urbino - Building

8.7 Excellent (1,296 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Albergo Italia places you in the heart of Urbino, within a 5-minute walk of House of Raphael and Urbino Duomo. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, well located with pleasant staff. A superb value as the rooms are quite clean and comfortable.
Cons: There isn't parking close altho it would have been a lot easier except the road was closed. If you can't do stairs would recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Value was great and breakfast fine. Helpful staff and an elevator.
Cons: A little hard to find and parking could be issue for some but once there all is good and then the rest of wall city is walkable if you can walk.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located right behind the Ducal Palace, just a few steps from the back entrance, it is so close, it might as well be part of the palace complex. You can walk virtually to everything worth seeing in this city. Stayed here for 2 nights in a twin room and was pleasantly surprised to discover that you can take the lift from Borgo Mercatale up to Corso Garibaldi and walk just a few steps to the hotel – we had earlier schlepped uphill on Via Mazzini with our luggage! Maybe the lift access should be emphasized in the hotel description or an advanced message to guests would be handy. Our room was on the 4th floor and it was quite spacious and airy with high ceilings and huge windows (what a treat to look out towards the Fortezza Albornoz on the hill across). Strong and reliable wifi signal in our room. Beds were a little hard and the pillows thin, but we slept well anyway. Breakfast downstairs was fine – usual continental spread of pastries, bread, ham, cheeses and boiled egg. The lovely serving staff made good cappuccinos to order. Overall, probably the best hotel to stay in Urbino, for its location and value alone. I’d stay here again.
Cons: Very basic bathroom amenities though, just wall-mounted soaps for the sink, shower and bidet. No shower caps, vanity kits, tissues etc.- every hotel we’ve been in had them. And the wall-mounted soap dispensers were almost empty! For such a well-positioned hotel, I wish they tried a little bit harder in this area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and informative staff, very clean rooms and a more than adequate breakfast. The best thing though is the location, great views from our rooms, close to all the major sights and best of all, only a short walk from the public car park lift at the base of town. Urbino is a beautiful hilltop town with restricted car access, you park either above or below the Centro Historico section, so this hotels location makes arriving a breeze.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: After getting used to just brioches, pastries or wrapped biscotti for breakfast in Italy, it was a great surprise to have a good selection of cereals, salume, breads, juices, fruits, and EGGs(!!!) for breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom was a little cramped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Well appointed room. Helpful staff advising on parking in the immense public lot, which used to be the Ducal parade ground just below the old town.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Beautiful location in the country. Large spacious room with balcony. Staff very helpful with suggestions though English was limited.

Pros: Nice location, managed by very kind and professional staff. Rich breakfast, with homemade cakes etc.
7.1 Good
Pros: They gave us a new room free of additional charges Great view
Cons: There were some bugs and cobwebs in our first room. Everyone could look into our room in front of the main e trance of the hotel (there is a glass door without light curtain, there were only the dark heavy one) The bathroom was terrible Take a look to the photo
Il Cortegiano - Urbino - Building
6
8.4 Excellent (689 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in Urbino, Il Cortegiano offers accommodation with free WiFi and flat-screen TV, as well as a shared lounge. Buffet and Italian breakfast options are available every morning at the bed and breakfast. Duomo is 70 metres from Il Cortegiano. The nearest airport is Federico Fellini International Airport, 56 km from the accommodation.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. The room exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and charm. The staff (Michele?) welcoming me was friendly, efficient and professional. Every written question I had prior to come were answered in record time. The location is perfection, within walking distance of important sights and in the heart of the Movida. This means short and safe walk back at night. Perfect and safe for a solo female traveller. I cannot think of another place to stay if I ever come back to Urbino.
Cons: Instead of only providing only sweet breakfast, a small choice of savoury food items should also be offered ( cheese and cold cuts for instance. After all, Le Marche is known for the high quality of its local produces). It does not have to be a full expensive buffet, but just something very much affordable to take into consideration people not eating sweets in the morning. Also, a complementary paper map of Urbino should be offered to every guest (especially since it is low season and tourist offices are not regularly open). No signal for TV, and spotty Wi-Fi. Especially during the bad weather, this could have come handy!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A superb location, right opposite the Duomo--the breakfast area looks right out onto the facade. You are just steps from the Palazzo Ducale, and despite the fact there were hundreds of college students just getting their semesters started, it was still (mostly) quiet. The room I had was very good-sized, complete with high ceilings. A great place to stay for visiting Urbino, or the surrounding countryside. (Yes, as some people have stated, there is are some steps to take to get up the the building, but hey, it's a hill-town; steps are part of the package.)
Cons: The breakfast was on the limited side; sweet cakes, yogurt, some fruit, and juices, and, of course, coffee. Wasn't much to fire me up for the day . . . but then, Urbino's gorgeous enough all on its own to do that.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location. Room Interior.
Cons: No air condition.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We came by bus to the central station. If you stay here, there is a bus that goes to Plaza Republica which would have made it much easier for us as we were dragging suitcases up and down the hilly town's cobblestone streets. The location is on a little street just opposite the Cathedral (which is closed). It is the first door on the left with a small number 1 left of the door. We rang a buzzer that said B&B and someone answered. There wasn't a name on the door.
Cons: Breakfast was pretty simple - mostly desert type breads and yoghurt.
Albergo San Domenico - Urbino - Building

5.4 Okay
Pros: Position and parking possibilities
Cons: Rooms are not cosy with tasteless bathrooms
7.0 Good
Pros: Superb location. Room very confortable.
Cons: Shower not so friendly for old people Little supply in the minibar
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Would have liked a more comfortable beds and more comfortable pillows. Also better shower facilities
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location very central
Cons: Couldn’t get the shower to work. The hotel was very impersonal with no nice communal space or friendly bar. It felt cold and lacking atmosphere was perfectly functional and comfortable but I wouldn’t stay again.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The only positive about this hotel is that the Ducal Palace/Museum is literally across the street. And of course Urbino is lovely.
Cons: Not a 4-star hotel in service or facilities. Public areas and room (especially room) were shabby and broken-down. (We actually made a list of the things broken in the room.) Reception was understaffed and disorganized. Afternoon receptionist was plain rude in response to a simple request. No bar (only a service window open during breakfast for coffee, etc.) and the restaurant was closed. We were allowed to check in (along with other people staying longer than 1 night like us) WITHOUT BEING TOLD the boiler had broken down earlier and that there was no central heating and no hot water. We were given a 20% discount on the bill at checkout, though we would have preferred that the hotel had lived up to its rating. Area around the hotel deserted in the evening. To rate this as a 4-star hotel makes a mockery of the rating system.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location is right across from the palazzo museum. Parking in the gated courtyard right on the premise
Cons: The rooms are outdated and has not changed since we stayed there 10 years ago. This is in no way 4 star hotel - very basic. They has an issue with the boiler and there was no hot water. Since it broke on Fri before weekend - the eta to fix was on Monday. We stayed for only one night but I do not know the rest of folks survived for three days with no hot water. Staff was apologetic and all, but not a 4 star service you would expect.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The only thing this hotel has going for it is a perfect location.
Cons: This is not a four-star hotel. The whole building is tired and shabby. The bathrooms, furniture, and common spaces are poorly lit and are long past needing a renovation. The staff is grumpy at best.

Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: The view was nice, on top of a hill. Breakfast was elaborate (and no problem to provide gluten free options). Room was fine too.
Cons: The garden and swimming area were rather messy. Maybe because the season was almost finished, but the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. All around it, chairs and old air mattresses were casually lying around. The dining area wasn't very cosy either. Staff was friendly (especially the young couple), but all together we expected more for the price...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just fabulous people, warm welcome, good food

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Position, silence, cleanliness, room size & stilish design, great breakfast, staff's courtesy.
Cons: It was cold in the room when we arrived: they only managed adding a wired heater because the heating was off. We asked for slippers but they didn't have any.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything in good level. Our basic room was quite small and low height of room
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice (after staying in so many apartments) to be back in a hotel with people who care to help.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The ceiling was extremely low.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and starts at 07:00h
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was buffet-style, so it made for a pleasant experience.
Cons: I suppose being American, what constitutes a "single" bed is different from Italians'. The bed was narrow with very modest mattress, and a lone pillow. Frankly, the room felt spartan.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ver good breakfast - coffee was tasty! Clean room, nice cosmetics. Although hotel has 4 stars in our opinion that is quite old building. Located nearby of centre of the city. Free parking and nice reception - that is important.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent views across the hills, if you pay for them Spacious room and public areas.
Cons: Air conditioning was off due to it being November and so no ventilation in the bathroom.
7.1 Good
Pros: - The room was sizeable and comfortable. - The choice of breakfast food was good. - Close to the centre of Urbino - The package is acceptable value for money
Cons: - Staff numbers are clearly insufficient to meet demand. - Staff have good will but lack professional skills and empathy. - Management seems essenially profit driven (few staff, save on heating etc). - Design is an uncomfortable mixture of fashionable and cheap, often inconsistent between one environment and the others. It suggests the impression of a renovation that was interrupted along the way.
6.7 Good
Pros: Urbino - historically important and very interesting old city (Palazzo di Ducale is amazing) Staff helpful in recommending and reserving a restaurant. Hotel is in a quiet location, has beautiful views, the bed was comfortable and had free parking.
Cons: Mamiami & Ki Hotel; supposedly “spa & wellness”, really just a hotel that leased out a space to a spa-like facility. However, this is not 4 star luxury - the bathroom is old and worn with fluorescent lighting, no stable water temperature and with cheap toiletries. The room is sparse with cheap wrinkled linens and the breakfast was lousy (not replenished by 8:45 am so slim choices, no glasses or cutlery, cold eggs, etc). Certainly not worth the price we paid.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was clean
Cons: Booked, then wrote an email to advise staff we would be travelling with a dog. Tried to call, took over 15mins for staff to reply. When we arrived there was no dog welcome kit and even though we paid for the spa entry, we were told it was unavailable as we had not booked the spa. Staff were un collaborative, breakfast was horrible and don't be fooled by the pictures as it is very outdated old and in need of repairs. Would not go back
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good and if you have a room on the right side of the building (we didn't), the views are very good. The breakfast is good.
Cons: We stayed here last year and liked it very much, so we booked it again this year. We were disappointed. Last year we had a room looking out over the countryside; this time we were given a room on the other side of the building which looked out onto blocks of flats. It was a very hot day and the room was stifling, but we prefer open windows to air conditioning. Firstly it was very difficult to open the window and when we managed to open it, there were no curtains, only a fixed blind, so occupants of the flats opposite can see into the room if the window is open... Last year we enjoyed our meal (pizzas) in the restaurant - it was cosy and friendly. This year the décor had changed and there was no atmosphere at all. And there were no pizzas that evening. I don’t think we’ll book again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent and helpful. The food was very good and not unreasonably priced.
Cons: The view from our room was very poor Our restaurant bill was overstated by €18.50 and it took 3 attempts to get it resolved to our satisfaction. We did were given a cash refund but it spoiled our stay.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Aquilone in Urbino, you'll be a 4-minute walk from Orto Botanico dell'Universita di Urbino and 6 minutes by foot from Albornoz Fortress.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner Mr Roberto was an amazing host, I think I learn more history and art in an hour with him than in books or internet :) and he gave me a coupon for free breakfast in a bar in the city, that I really appreciated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were given tokens for an Italian breakfast that could be used in various bars neat the B&B and in the centre. The proprietor was very helpful; he explained about about the town and gave us tips for visiting.
7.1 Good
Cons: No breakfast in the hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to city centre. We could enjoy the city and then go back to relax easily.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and the bathroom were very clean and tidy, Roberto was so friendly and a good host. The price of our stay was budget, considering the top quality of the room and the excellent location.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host is very kind, & he surprised us with a basket of fruit & often offered to help us take our luggage.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Two minute walk from bus station and gate into old city. Owner was very welcoming, friendly and informative, a true gentleman. He gave us excellent advice on things to see and do, which matched our interests.

Featured amenities include express check-in, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Planning an event in Urbino? This hotel features 861 square feet (80 square meters) of event facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.4 Okay
Pros: It was close to a bus-stop. One receptionist was helpful; one wasn't.
Cons: The bedroom I was first put into was totally unsatisfactory; the bathroom stank, the drains were blocked, and a pool of smelly/dirty water collected in the middle of the bathroom floor. Four hours after complaining, nothing had been remedied; I returned to 'reception' where a different man was on duty. He immediately came up to the bedroom to see my problem, and moved me at once to a clean room with a clean bathroom. Some facilities listed on the booking.com website did not exist.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Could have given more detailed information about the bus up to Urbino and how to get tickets as in fact it was a great service almost door to door but it took a while to find all that out. It also runs in a circuit so a sightseeing tour as well. Someone could write it in English and it could be given to guests as the staffs english is ok but the reception person told me everything in a rush of broken English. I don’t expect everyone to speak English btw but the bus info was invaluable and could be printed out and given to guests - and in other languages too.
7.5 Good
Pros: Easy to find with easy access to street parking. Very quiet and friendly staff
Cons: a little far to walk to the centre, more than 10 minutes as mentioned on the website
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Watching the sun dawn over the hills from my fifth floor room balcony was priceless.
Cons: Nothing, this place was very nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: private terrace; good location
Cons: breakfast could have been bigger
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel was clean, the staff was truly helpful and very friendly.
Cons: They did not have heating yet so in spite of air conditioned used as heating bathrooms were freezing cold. Furniture is very basic. Small improvements could enhance the hotel pretty much.

Pros: Tutto perfetto :) Very nice and clean room. Very friendly staff. Good breakfest. Fantastic localization. I've spent great time in Hotel Raffaello! Thank You.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very central location, comfortable and clean room.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Would like to know what. Part was the old seminaryio
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and clean
Cons: Very weak WiFi and no signal in the bed room
5.8 Okay
Pros: Convenient location once there. Difficult to find and mostly inaccessible by car
Cons: No one on duty after about 2 in the afternoon. Advertised AC only heats Doesn’t cool. Breakfast pastries stale. Coffee so so. Unable to purchase a glass of wine. Not enough electric outlets. Had to unplug the TV to plug in the fridge. Had to charge the phone in the bathroom
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Characterful property. Very close to everything though make sure you get you and your bags to the front door to save lugging them up the hill! Raphael and his mum’s place virtually next door.
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the location. I loved the view from my room.
Cons: The bathroom flooded every time I had a shower. I was scared I might slip. No one came to fix it or assist me. I had to stand in 3- 4 cm of water after every shower. One time my towel fell into the flood and I had no towel. Only saw someone on reception twice in my 3 days. could have definitely been friendlier and more helpful.

7.1 Good
Pros: View from room 328.
Cons: Torn and dirty privacy curtains. Carpets have seen better days. Our supposedly queen bed was two beds put together. Bare bones breakfast in a dimly lit dining room that has seen better days.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - The dude at the reception was very kind and helpful to me. I still thank him. - Room very wide and spacious, with a table and a couple of wardrobes. It looked more like a small apartment. - Free parking next to the hotel. - The elegant furniture and decor of the reception.
Cons: - The unbearable smell of sewage coming from my private bathroom throughout my whole stay. - Tap handles on the basin and bidet too old and uncomfortable. - No hairdryer in my private bathroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was excellent that the room had electric air conditioning in August for an excellent price, which was even lower than usual through booking. com, the buffet breakfast at 5 euro extra was excellent value: ham salami various cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt cereals, white and brown bread, croissants, biscotti, rice biscotti, honey jam and butter, fizzy and flat mineral water, two types of fruit juice, three tiles of cake. T
Cons: The hotel is excellent in every way, The only disadvantage is that it is on the outskirts, which means you need to take a bus (no 3) 1.25 euro but valid for 90 min, so it can be reused for a second trip in that time. Excellent timetable every 20 mins in daytime hours Except in August when every 40 mins which is not good G

7.1 Good
Pros: The kids loved the pool.
Cons: Tatty curtains- the property needs some investment. The breakfast was very skimpy.
6.3 Good
Pros: A good, cheap value for money if you travel by car.. + private free parking, pool, not far away from the city with the car - it could be cleaner outside of the rooms.. It has potential but needs a little bit more effort.. Feels old Breakfast ...don't expect much
4.6 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a quiet area of Urbino, with free parking and lovely views. The gentleman at the desk was very sweet and tried to answer our questions as best he could. The rooms were spacious and if you like a very firm mattress you will find the beds very comfortable.
Cons: I am sure this hotel was beautiful 20 years ago, but our bathroom and bedroom were dirty, with cob webs in every corner. The shower head was crusted with limescale and the water shot in every direction, apart from where it was needed. The breakfast was a selection of 2-3 cakes or croissant with nothing at all for a gluten free or low sugar diet, luckily I travel with some food and they were able to provide me with some milk. Apparently it is a no-smoking hotel, but with no signs anywhere other than in the reception we had people smoking in the corridor outside our room and we were unable to challenge them as there was nothing to confirm that they were not able to smoke.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleaning
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Marco was a great host!! We would not hesitate to stay again.
