Staff is very nice
No hot water each morning. I am a platinum elite Marriott member. Received $10 voucher for the bar/restaurant. They had a private party in the restaurant so I wasn't allowed to use voucher. The temporary replacement bar wouldn't accept tbe voucher either.
Hotel is nice and feels higher end, not cheap.
our room was near the elevator and we could hear it ding every time it came to our floor, people were very noisy in the hallways which you could also hear in the rooms.
Valet parking is awful. It took over 50 mins to get my car
Great location (close to the metro and the mall). The staff was very helpful, and cribs are available to use if you have small children. Overall, the room was comfortable and nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Mayflower. My husband and I were there to renew our vows on our anniversary and the staff were extremely welcoming, making sure our room was ready several hours before normal heck-in hours so that we could get dressed and off to the ceremony in time. I can't think of a single thing that was less than exemplary- the loveliest hotel in DC!
I came in at 4 and there was no water or mini-bar in the room. They told me that if I wanted a Diet Coke I would need to wait until room service was open at 5. In the morning, they didn't fill the breakfast order -- said they didn't get it. This for $400 a night? Hardly 4 star service.
Room Service got order wrong
$72 for 3 bottles of water and 2 cups of tea is outrageous. I asked for still water, three times when placing order, and they brought sparkling. It was late so I didn't protest.

My room was about ten years out of date, broken thermostat, etc. Entire hotel smelled like a small kitchen with no ventilation where someone had been cooking hamburgers. Gross.
