With consistently warm to hot temperatures year-round and sea temperatures averaging around 27°C, the western part of Jamaica is blessed with one of the Caribbean's most pleasant climates. However, it is important to note that Jamaica can be subject to stormy periods, most notably in between June and November when the hurricane season kicks in, and throughout March and mid-April when the spring break crowds descend on the island. Flights from the UK to Jamaica's Montego Bay Airport take around ten hours, while transfers to and from the resort take around 75 minutes. Not that it matters much in Negril, the time in Jamaica is five hours behind UK (GMT -5).
