The location of the Melia Poltu Quatu is stunning, set in a beautiful natural harbour. On entering the hotel, the splendour of the location is transported inside with the elegant reception, pool, and restaurant areas. The atmosphere was pleasant, yet relaxing and was perfect for the break we were looking for, with a couple of shops, bars and restaurants just outside to browse around. Nothing at all, except I was not there long enough
Quite and service
The Poltu Quatu complex and setting is outstanding. It is a joy to stay there this time of the year if you want a quiet relaxing time.
weather prices of food and beaverages
Large appartment with well equipped kitchenette. Nice view from the terasse, beautiful location and quiet area. Furnitures were very basic and in general the interior were not at all 5 star.
Nice location. Nice and clean rooms. Really for people who are well off. a bit too expensive for my taste (Bottle of water 25cl = 7 EUR) but I guess that goes with the Costa Smeralda
Location Not free car park. Maintenace of room facilities.
The proximity to the marina
The beach is far and very bad!
I thought the location was very beautiful, the wait staff was extremely friendly I feel this should be only 4 star hotel-they skimped on the details-has the potential of being 5 star but not quite there.
The location was excellent, very close to the best beaches in the Costa Smeralda area
Relaxing, quiet location THe pool was freezing cold and the man on reception at night was most unhelpful
Very relaxed and quiet. no fuss. Large, clean room. Powerful shower. great pool. Beautiful setting. Great value considering the prices of nearby hotels. Shaded car park. Lots to see and do in the area. Pizza place next door! Breakfast was a little basic
Hotel Nibaru is great. The staff are very helpful and the hotel is near some of the best beaches and minutes to Porto Cervo and other great areas. The buffet breakfast is also great. No.
Great location , great staff , relax place , good breakfast
Convenience to beaches and facilities of costa smerelda. Pool area Hardness of the beds. Lack of choice at breakfast
Clean room. Good breakfast.Pleasant town. Good public transport service. Hotel is adjacent to stone masons yard where work starts at about 8am during the week. The noise is not continuous but it can be noisy.
The staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel was ideally located for visiting the region's pre-historic sites, Palau, Maddelena and Costa Smeralda.
- nice location - none
Being closeby the main tourist attractions in Costa Smeralda was very nice. Free parking. Old hotel. Hotel standards do not match the qualification of 3 stars but rather 2 stars. Expensive given these standards.
nothing much to like, very ordinary and basic hotel we had room on the second flor with no view ( view to the wall of other side of hotel and part of swimingpool), there was no changeing of towels,
Very good location to visit places and beaches of Costa Smeralda. Free parking. None.
Impeccably clean rooms, airy and cool. Nice swimming pool and good location - within 15 to 20 minute drive to fantastic beaches
Convenient for my stay in the town of Azachina en route to the ferry for Corsica
the breakfast was good and the pool was nice too. My friend left some things in her room and the staff were kind enough to post them all the way back to England. We had a room for 3 and it was huge with a big balcony the balcony door was hard to use, but this is only a minor point
Plenty of space in the hotelroom. The toilet had a bad smell
The location and garden/pool area Hard bed
We enjoyed the outside spaces, especially the pool areas as they were very scenic and well serviced. We found that although the hotel was good, it was not quite worth the money charged.
the swimming pool and the beach
the room, the service be4 hand, the food range could be better, as could the beach facilities, we could do away with all the peddlers of rubbish on the private beaches, they could have catered better be4 hand for celaics, otherwise, the general space was large n expansive, the restaurants, only 3.5 star quality food and service was as amenable as possible, but not what i m used to, which is almost military like precision for my meals. otherwise the hotel did try, but trying is not good enough these daus. the beach access was not immediate, the location, not perfect, n the facade needs a re work of paint, if it truly wants to have a 5 star standard, the concierge facilities should be more on the ball, eg like all starwood n relais n chateux properties, as an italian comparison, pronto, prestissimo, and tutto complaint!
excellent very supportive Staff, Quiteness, Design of hotel, close to beautifull Porto Cervo 400 meters from beach ( 5-10 minute walk ), expensive ( size rooms versus $$$$$$$$$$$$ )
Great swimming pools, decent beach, good breakfasts, very friendly service at reception. Lunch menu is overpriced. The beach is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and you have to cross a public parking lot.
The location, grounds and pools were superb. The ability to find a secluded sunny spot right next to a pool was fantastic, also the short walk to the beach was great. The decor of the hotel was wonderful, it was an oasis of quiet. The service from reception and bar staff was also very good. The service in the restaurant was haphazard - Fawlty Towers came to mind. It would have helped to have clearer pricing on the menus, we were not sure of the cost of the daily menu, which turned out to be the same as the a la carte menu. Also the pillows were made of hollowfibre and very uncomfortable.
Excellent staff, Poor breakfast could have offered more
The location of this hotel is excellent, the rooms are nice and clean and the staff nice. However the quality of the brerakfast was very very poor, the espresso was disgusting and the other food items more appropriate for a hostel then for an hotesl that it's not really cheap
Room and hotel were always very clean and well maintained, the staff were very helpful and friendly and generally a very pleasurable stay.
the hotel was really nice, good size family room with bunkbeds. nice outside seating area ,pool quite small but adequate and clean , lovely gardens .A few local restaurants and shops within walking distance. situated next too a brilliant water park .few minutes to Main beach, shops restaurants bars etc by car to baia Sardegna.Really enjoyed our stay here !
The hotel area was more like a group of bungalows with a lot of trees and flowers. Nice atmosphere. English or German speaking reception staff. Removal of garbage outside the hotel. The smell was not nice !
Rooms in hotel in desperate need of refurbishment. Rooms very basic and not worth the money we paid per night. Also no where to get snacks or drinks through the day at the hotel.
At La Jacia we were right next to the water park which was ideal for the children. The hotel grounds are so pretty and the rooms are all covered in borganvillia. It was about a mile walk into the village and a lovely big beach and seafront restaurants. There was a smaller beach about 10 mins walk away from the hotel. The hotel restaurant was a full 5 course set meal. No evening entertainment, but as we were busy in the day we did not mind this as we were in bed early.
The Aqua Dream Park near the hotel. It was a mold smell in all our three rooms. There is 750 meters to walk to the beach not 350 meters . The breakfast was poor. No internet in the area. Very bad mattresses, i ask them to change it but they didn't change it. You cannot call it 3* hotel, you can call it motel or bungalow.
Convienient Location, complimentary access to the Aquadream water park which was great fun, especially for my 4 yr old daughter, good breakfast selection for Italy, each room had small patio to relax outside after a long day at the beach and the water park. Rooms were clean but somewhat rustic with minor maintenance problems such as running toilets and shower door out of alignment. It did not bother us too much but it was never fixed during our stay.
The pool and surrounds are fabulous, with gorgeous views. The hotel was beautifully and conveniently situated for those who want to get away from it all, but still within a couple of miles from supermarkets, shops and restaurants. It was not in one of the main touristy areas, but with a car (essential here) you can easily drive to them. The rooms were lovely and clean and great air conditioning. The breakfasts were ok, but the choice was limited - too many cakes and not enough fruit.
It's wonderful position. The layout of the various 'houses/apartments which fit in beautifully with the local environment of olive groves and enstancias. We loved the suite, the way each apartment has a terrace and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The facilities of the restaurant (seperate building) are second to none, and the quality of the food is something special. Nothing at all
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside, and the good breakfast. The hotel was clean and mostly well kept. The reception staff were very friendly and did an excellent job. The chalet like rooms are not very private, and it was not unusual to be woken by the neighbours in the toilet and you could hear anything being said as well. The restaurant has for some strange reason been built some distance away, bi tstrange to have to have a long walk in th e morning!
lovely room, nice swimming pool, great views it felt a little isolated
Very nice place. No german TV channel available.
All the staff were absolutely charming and could not do enough to help their guests. The hotel was in a good podition to explore North-east Sardinia and the room rates were good value.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and hotel itself was great, very clean and new. We will definitely be going back. The only thing I would say was that after breakfast you cannot get anything else to eat. However, I do beleive that they are planning to expand through the winter of 07 to be able to do so.
The staff were very welcoming and attentive, even getting in a special meal for us on our first night. The hotel is exceptionally well designed and most attractive, and the pool is a superb feature. The whole experience made one feel that the owner/management really wanted us to enjoy our stay in this lovely oasis. The location is not ideal. As there was no chef available during our stay it meant going out for meals in the evening, but there is no restaurant within walking distance, unless you go along a busy road.
The staff is very willing to provide information and to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The staff were very helpful and polite. Good directions for restaurants and beaches. Very quiet around the pool and at breakfast. A lovely setting, close to beaches and supermarket. Or room did not have a balcony which was disappointing and there were no drawers, only a wardrobe. There was only one mirror and that was in the bathroom.
Sunbathing around the pool and using the hotel as a touring base because there is nothing else to do in the immediate vicinity. The absence of dining facilities in the evening and the repetitive breakfasts.
Very calm and relaxing atmosphere and in the same time near to Costa Smeralda beaches (a car is a must, especially out of high season). Very friendly and helpfull staff (Luca, thank you for returning to give us a lift uphill in the rain). Rather small shower cabin.
The staff was superb and very helpful to us. They even made a golf tee time for my husband. It is a delightful place! We liked it all.
Staff very nice and helpful. Unfortunetaly it was the end of season and the weather was horrible so we left early. If I was to ever return to sardinia, I would stay there without a problem.
Staff Motel like
The hotel is lovely! It has a great location but you should definitely hire a car in sardinia! the room was really cosy and cute and the staff was great! It is a great choice of hotel in sardinia and we will definitely come back! Nothing
The hotel is really top. Perfectly situated on a mountain with perfect view over Cala di Volpe. The hotel is even better than the Cala di Volpe Hotel. Perfect place for staying at Costa Smeralda. Absolutely super was the for free included shuttle service to the beach, where also beds and umbrellas are reserved for hotel guests. Nice pool, nicely designed room with balcony. The breakfast was good for Italy, however a small room for improvement from a German perspective.
Amazing staff. Excelent welcome cocktail. Will return for sure. A little bit more variety on the breakast.
Beautiful views from the restaurant terrace Very overpriced, not even remotely in the same league as the Cala di Volpe mentioned in another review
Nice view. Very quiet. Good restaurant & bar. Very nice beach. Quite isolated. 20-30 min. to the beach with an 8 seat van on a dusty road. Nothing in walking distance - a car is a must.
The friendliness of the man who controlled the beach was exceptional A rat that ran through the outside bar area.....
The view was breath taking and every new day another beautiful picture was painted during the breakfast session. The staff was super friendly and very service oriented. The restaurant was really among the top restaurants, every day a different menu with fresh top ingredients. This hotel is rather a 5 than a 4 star hotel. I hope to visit them again.
The genuine personal care and attention given to all guests by all the staff was outstanding. The setting was superb and the meals were very good. We shall certainly stay at this hotel again. We enjoyed it and did not have anything to dislike about our experience.
Beautifull rooms and a free shutlle service to the beach. I was on business and it does not cater to the business traveller.
The location, the staff's kindness and attention. Breakfast was a little bit poor : no fresh juices ; besides, we didn't like the fact that we couldn't sit at the table we wanted for dinner. We managed to do so at the end !
The hotel is in an excellent position for a relaxing, quiet holiday. The facilites are excellent especailly the restaurant and beach. Its location is such that you do need a car.
We had a fantastic bargain. the staff are very friendly with a high level of attention to detail. The food was delicious. just a little isolated which didnt bother us for a 5 day stay but might others.
The setting was fabulous. The views were amazing from every angle you could see the most amazing countryside. The restaurant was very good as well. The only comment I could make was it would be nice to have had a full length mirror in the room or bathroom. I found the pillows much to soft but that is just a personal thing. Other than that is was great.
peace and quiet, extensive grounds, large pool, delightful and very attentive staff, perfect location, views. It was a gorgeous hotel to stay in and I would definately return. only very minor niggles such as more variety at breakfast, especially for children i.e. cereals. A full length mirror would have been nice and some more chairs and a table on the veranda.
Paradise in Sardinia - why stay anywhere else! Brilliant location for a really relaxing holiday, inland but within easy reach of the coast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent evening meals with great cooking. .Lovely swiimming pool. No
Beautifull setting - quiet and away from the crowds. Excellent swimming pool. Need a car to get around.
the people ther understanding we were in the off seasonand because the location is so realaxing, it makes you want to stay there and laze around but it was not possible to get yourself a ''good old cup of tea'' in the afternoon
The restaurant had outstanding food and the staff were excellent and continually surpassed our expectations. The surroundings were beautiful as was the villa.
Excellent food, good location. Comfortable room. Pleasant and helpful staff A little isolated but that is a very minor comment
The people are very nice! No, all was exelent!
Great location: Sardinian farmhouse style, quiet, nice pool and a beautiful view on the Smeralda area. The room had a great atmosphere and was big enough for us. We loved the restaurant: great food and of course Sergio, the waiter speaking 5 languages fluently. We loved the place and hope to return soon.
We found the atmosphere totally relaxing. it was very spacious and pretty. it was multi-national. The bed was so incredibly hard and uncomfortable that it took me two weeks to recover. it was not possible to open a window safely for fresh air at night as by doing so it just left a huge aperture for anything to clamber through. there should have been shutters or netting over the bathroom window which was the only one that could be opened.
staff was very helpful and kind I think you shouldn't lye that you beach is only in 700 metres from hotel, because there is no beach!!!! and hotel's location is not good everything is too far. Breakfast was the worst, I have never had such a bad experience. Dinner was so-so, choice was poor
Amazing staff, always ready to help with any request. An full breakfast buffet which is pretty rare these days. Very clean and attention to detail. Totally recommend this place for a short break with kids. Not the cheapest of places but then again you are on Costa Esmeralda!
the pool being asked for 50 euro to stay few hours longer tan official checking out time
Very friendly staff. The best reception briefing on the local area and its attractions we have ever had. Food was good and service excellent. Super location near to attractive estuary. Swimmers pool and decent paddling pool. A good 9 out of 10. Hotel is not a beach centred venue but does provide a free shuttle bus to the main local resort. Great beaches nearby though if you have a car. Main pool was deep almost everywhere, which might put some people off
staff, rooms, pool, location
hotel pool and surroundings were lovely
Very basic hotel for the price. Not value for money Price
Very quiet hotel with plenty of space around the large outdoor pool The restaurant was slightly disappointing and the lack of both a hotel bar and proper poolside bar.
There is Spacious room for staying my family (5 persons). And the hotel's site is wide, so we played in the pool and large garden with my kids every day. Friendly staff talked to me around the hotel, about good beach, nice restaurants etc. It was very helpfull. So, We could go several good beachs near the hotel . Everyday the room was cleaned up. And we could sleap on the clean sheets. We want to stay again. Sewage smell in the bus room.
the location and the pool did not replace bath wash, and the breakfast was not amazing
We had a room with frontal sea vieuw, it was a stunning vieuw so beautifull! The location is perfect and also close to Porto Cervo (just 10 min driving) The room are old so don't exepect to much of it.
The staff were friendly, the food and wine was excellant and the location perfect
The friendly and efficient service provided by the staff of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. You need to know that clients placed, as we were, in the attractive annexe of the hotel, have to climb or descebd 62 tiles steps from their rooms to the reception area and back. There is no lift connection. We had no problem but we saw less able visitors struggling with their luggage etc. We think that the Club Hotel should make this information available on your website.
Couldnt get a meal in the restaurant because they had prepared a buffet for three coach parties. Fortunately we managed to find the only restaraunt open in the town
Relaxing! Lovely staff, very clean, gorgeous pool (bit chilly in October though!). 5 minute walk to shops and nearest beach and cafes, and a little train to some more lovely beaches. Generous buffet (both hot and cold) for breakfast and dinner. There was a charge for internet access and towels for the pool - although not expensive, I would have expected things like that to be included.
