- nice location - none
The staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel was ideally located for visiting the region's pre-historic sites, Palau, Maddelena and Costa Smeralda.
the breakfast was good and the pool was nice too. My friend left some things in her room and the staff were kind enough to post them all the way back to England. We had a room for 3 and it was huge with a big balcony the balcony door was hard to use, but this is only a minor point
Being closeby the main tourist attractions in Costa Smeralda was very nice. Free parking. Old hotel. Hotel standards do not match the qualification of 3 stars but rather 2 stars. Expensive given these standards.
Clean room. Good breakfast.Pleasant town. Good public transport service. Hotel is adjacent to stone masons yard where work starts at about 8am during the week. The noise is not continuous but it can be noisy.
Convenient for my stay in the town of Azachina en route to the ferry for Corsica
Plenty of space in the hotelroom. The toilet had a bad smell
nothing much to like, very ordinary and basic hotel we had room on the second flor with no view ( view to the wall of other side of hotel and part of swimingpool), there was no changeing of towels,
Impeccably clean rooms, airy and cool. Nice swimming pool and good location - within 15 to 20 minute drive to fantastic beaches
Very good location to visit places and beaches of Costa Smeralda. Free parking. None.
the location and the pool did not replace bath wash, and the breakfast was not amazing
Very friendly staff. The best reception briefing on the local area and its attractions we have ever had. Food was good and service excellent. Super location near to attractive estuary. Swimmers pool and decent paddling pool. A good 9 out of 10. Hotel is not a beach centred venue but does provide a free shuttle bus to the main local resort. Great beaches nearby though if you have a car. Main pool was deep almost everywhere, which might put some people off
Amazing staff, always ready to help with any request. An full breakfast buffet which is pretty rare these days. Very clean and attention to detail. Totally recommend this place for a short break with kids. Not the cheapest of places but then again you are on Costa Esmeralda!
Very quiet hotel with plenty of space around the large outdoor pool The restaurant was slightly disappointing and the lack of both a hotel bar and proper poolside bar.
Very basic hotel for the price. Not value for money Price
There is Spacious room for staying my family (5 persons). And the hotel's site is wide, so we played in the pool and large garden with my kids every day. Friendly staff talked to me around the hotel, about good beach, nice restaurants etc. It was very helpfull. So, We could go several good beachs near the hotel . Everyday the room was cleaned up. And we could sleap on the clean sheets. We want to stay again. Sewage smell in the bus room.
staff, rooms, pool, location
the pool being asked for 50 euro to stay few hours longer tan official checking out time
staff was very helpful and kind I think you shouldn't lye that you beach is only in 700 metres from hotel, because there is no beach!!!! and hotel's location is not good everything is too far. Breakfast was the worst, I have never had such a bad experience. Dinner was so-so, choice was poor
hotel pool and surroundings were lovely
The staff were friendly and the rooms were modern and clean. The beach was nearby and within easy walking distance. The pool is great. There wasn't much to do in the hotel on days when it rained. They have WiFi but no computers with internet access.
Hotel Baja is a contemporary style hotel which has recently had a refit and hence the decor and fittings are highly modern, clean etc. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the hotel was very good and we had excellent service in the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel as a base to explore the north eastern part of sardinia I would recommend hotel Baja. The town also has a number of good restaurants as well.
Food was good and definitely worth spending the extra for half board. Good location for family retreat but not for friends fun. Language barrier is a big minus: Italian is a must for residents, as English lead to many misinterpretations. Cannigione is a small very quiet town, with no cash ATM (!) and you need a car to discover the region.
Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. No facilities available. The wellness centre wasn't open, the jacuzzi was closed, our TV didn't work and wasn't fixed all week, and I think we were given a standard room rather than a superior.
Clean, good reception staff and manager.... Beds and pillows were ridiculously hard and uncomfortable! Male hotel staff are too forward in asking English women to join them....for drinks, massages etc!!
Reception and general friendliness was excellent. Rooms were clean and there was a good attitude by most staff. Breakfast - my Italian is reasonable but the guy serving never got our order correct. All three mornings, he was hopeless. Breakfast is supposed to start at 7.30 but bread didn't arrive til 8 on the one occasion we needed to be early.
Good location and a nice pool There were severla things advertised which were not available. There was no wireless internet and the Spa was closed for refurbishment.
Very nice hotel, excellent design and quality! Very good!!! Very polite and professional staff. Staff was confused and did not know standard questions about internet etc. Internet was too expensive and should be 1) included in the room rate, 2) Wireless, and 3) maximum cost 10 € per night extra. Other, older hotels we visited in Sardinia during our holliday had already done this. Facilities were closed, without any information prior to checkin.
Very nice pool and garden area Breakfast was disappointing given the rest of the hotel.
The pool, how clean the place was, the little spa, the toilets very clean. The advert says 200 metres from the beach. This is just a bit of sand the beach is ac train ride away. They do not even serve fresh fuit juice at the beach bar, they have the same menu everday and the fish of the day was the same everyday. We asked for an ashtray when at the indoor bar, where there was no staff,so asked at reception and were told "get it yourself from the pool staff outside not a
peace and quiet, extensive grounds, large pool, delightful and very attentive staff, perfect location, views. It was a gorgeous hotel to stay in and I would definately return. only very minor niggles such as more variety at breakfast, especially for children i.e. cereals. A full length mirror would have been nice and some more chairs and a table on the veranda.
Beautifull setting - quiet and away from the crowds. Excellent swimming pool. Need a car to get around.
Great location: Sardinian farmhouse style, quiet, nice pool and a beautiful view on the Smeralda area. The room had a great atmosphere and was big enough for us. We loved the restaurant: great food and of course Sergio, the waiter speaking 5 languages fluently. We loved the place and hope to return soon.
Paradise in Sardinia - why stay anywhere else! Brilliant location for a really relaxing holiday, inland but within easy reach of the coast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent evening meals with great cooking. .Lovely swiimming pool. No
The restaurant had outstanding food and the staff were excellent and continually surpassed our expectations. The surroundings were beautiful as was the villa.
The people are very nice! No, all was exelent!
We found the atmosphere totally relaxing. it was very spacious and pretty. it was multi-national. The bed was so incredibly hard and uncomfortable that it took me two weeks to recover. it was not possible to open a window safely for fresh air at night as by doing so it just left a huge aperture for anything to clamber through. there should have been shutters or netting over the bathroom window which was the only one that could be opened.
the people ther understanding we were in the off seasonand because the location is so realaxing, it makes you want to stay there and laze around but it was not possible to get yourself a ''good old cup of tea'' in the afternoon
Excellent food, good location. Comfortable room. Pleasant and helpful staff A little isolated but that is a very minor comment
The setting was fabulous. The views were amazing from every angle you could see the most amazing countryside. The restaurant was very good as well. The only comment I could make was it would be nice to have had a full length mirror in the room or bathroom. I found the pillows much to soft but that is just a personal thing. Other than that is was great.
The atmosphere, the location, the view, Daniel the Manager and the friendliness of the people! The road to´the hotel is pretty difficult to reach.
The location was idyllic, the room very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were limited as out of season. The food was excellent although a little expensive. The 2km dirt track to the hotel became a chore. Although advertised as heated, the pool was freezing and therefore we were unable to swim which was disappointing.
Best food in the world!!
Wonderful location and spa facilities. Staff were excellent, so friendly, cheerful and helpful. Room (junior suite) although small had 2 lovely terraces with magnificent views and 2 bathrooms! Restaurant menu was simple but food was very good and together with the lounge area had a lovely atmosphere. A perfect place for a relaxing break...feels more like a house party than a hotel.
Everything was perfect .... I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in!
Very pleasant and quiet place. Great cleaning service. Mostly German tourists which is nice sign. Breakfast is ok.
Friendly staff speaking English, French, Spanish, German and of course Italian. Good quality of food and good variation. The hotel is showing some signs of wear and could use some paint at different places. An international news channel on the TV would be welcome. We had to do with 6 Italian and 6 German channels. Somewhat poor for a 4 star hotel.
Air conditioning. Electric car (transportation to the beach and inside the facility). Reserved seats at the beach. Telephone and TV out of order. Garden not watered. Small swimming pool.
Great facilities, great staff, close to a wonderful beach
Terrific view from the room terrace, exellent restaurant service, gourmet dinner. Exellent beach and complimentary beach facilities (free towels without any stupid deposits, free beach chairs and beach umbrellas are very rare joys not only in this area but in the whole Italy!). It is a unique hotel! Hotel private beach is a little bit too far away for small kids or seniors to reach by foot especially in summertime. Beach shuttle must be available any time by request.
I liked the surrounding landscape (mountains), the swimming pool and the fact that it was very close to some very nice beaches in the Costa Smeralda I didn't think it was a proper 4-star hotel. The room has got the standard, i thought. It felt more like a 3-star. Having said that, the hotl had a warm feeling and was good value for money given it was half-board (the food was good, by the way).
The Poltu Quatu complex and setting is outstanding. It is a joy to stay there this time of the year if you want a quiet relaxing time.
I thought the location was very beautiful, the wait staff was extremely friendly I feel this should be only 4 star hotel-they skimped on the details-has the potential of being 5 star but not quite there.
weather prices of food and beaverages
Nice location. Nice and clean rooms. Really for people who are well off. a bit too expensive for my taste (Bottle of water 25cl = 7 EUR) but I guess that goes with the Costa Smeralda
Quite and service
The location of the Melia Poltu Quatu is stunning, set in a beautiful natural harbour. On entering the hotel, the splendour of the location is transported inside with the elegant reception, pool, and restaurant areas. The atmosphere was pleasant, yet relaxing and was perfect for the break we were looking for, with a couple of shops, bars and restaurants just outside to browse around. Nothing at all, except I was not there long enough
The proximity to the marina
Location Not free car park. Maintenace of room facilities.
The beach is far and very bad!
Large appartment with well equipped kitchenette. Nice view from the terasse, beautiful location and quiet area. Furnitures were very basic and in general the interior were not at all 5 star.
Couldnt get a meal in the restaurant because they had prepared a buffet for three coach parties. Fortunately we managed to find the only restaraunt open in the town
Relaxing! Lovely staff, very clean, gorgeous pool (bit chilly in October though!). 5 minute walk to shops and nearest beach and cafes, and a little train to some more lovely beaches. Generous buffet (both hot and cold) for breakfast and dinner. There was a charge for internet access and towels for the pool - although not expensive, I would have expected things like that to be included.
We had a fantastic bargain. the staff are very friendly with a high level of attention to detail. The food was delicious. just a little isolated which didnt bother us for a 5 day stay but might others.
The location, the staff's kindness and attention. Breakfast was a little bit poor : no fresh juices ; besides, we didn't like the fact that we couldn't sit at the table we wanted for dinner. We managed to do so at the end !
The hotel is in an excellent position for a relaxing, quiet holiday. The facilites are excellent especailly the restaurant and beach. Its location is such that you do need a car.
LOvely spacious room opening out onto the pool. Great breakfast.
The staff were excellent and the food in the restaurant was superb. Probably the best in the village. A small hotel that made you feel at home and very welcome. Perfect for a quiet get away. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time which was a nice surprise. The room was very clean and the staff respected our privacy. If i return to Sardinia I would re book the same hotel again
Very friendly staff and a *great "italian style" breakfast*. Very good value for money in a location that's 15 minutes by car from all the best seashores. One over four night was a bit noisy and the cause was some music put by the young workers downstairs. It's a pity because otherwise it would have been 100% satisfaction.
The room and the staff were lovely, as was the breakfast. Hard pillows.
pool and staff who were very obliging restaurant was a bit expensive and a table d'hote for residents may result in more people taking dinner there.
The hotel and staff were a very pleasant surprise. We were given our choice of rooms and selected a 2-bedroom suite for the price of a 1-bedroom double. The suite is usually reserved for families as it has direct access to the swimming pool. Because it was off-season, the room was not in demand and they offered it to us with no increase in rate. In fact, we stayed 2 nights because of the hotel quality and location The hotel restaurant is the best in town offering quality meals and wines. We recommend this hotel to everyone. No.
Pool was dirty
A very friendly and family run hotel. Ideally situated for exploring the area. Sharing the pool with the extended family!
Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Our room was comfortable and well cleaned everyday. Large buffet spread everyday for breakfast which was excellent. Our flight home was in the evening and the hotel allowed us to have the use of the room for the day which was a huge help.
Quiet with very good restaurant Very small bedroom
Beautiful surroundings, helpful staff, good facilities especially the restaurant and swimming pool No
the food served was exellent on your web site you showed a beautiful pool at the hotel what you failed to tell us it was out of use being re furbished so one of the main reasons i picked the hotel for the pool was out ,it was a birthday present to take my wife to Sardinia and she loves to swim!
The overall feel of the hotel and the level of comfort and facilities was very good. The food and service at the adjoining Trattoria were excellent and the village of San Pantaleo is in a great location in the mountains but close enough to the sea. No.
surroundings, were beautiful, hotel was really well designed and well kept with a beautiful pool area.Rooms quite basic for a 4 star but bathrooms were lovely. quiet, mountain village but there are few places to eat incl. Restaurant adjoining hotel...absolutely fantastic food... but quite pricey.Stunning beach 10 mins away ------------------rena Bianca....well worth a visit would love to go back
excellent very supportive Staff, Quiteness, Design of hotel, close to beautifull Porto Cervo 400 meters from beach ( 5-10 minute walk ), expensive ( size rooms versus $$$$$$$$$$$$ )
The location, grounds and pools were superb. The ability to find a secluded sunny spot right next to a pool was fantastic, also the short walk to the beach was great. The decor of the hotel was wonderful, it was an oasis of quiet. The service from reception and bar staff was also very good. The service in the restaurant was haphazard - Fawlty Towers came to mind. It would have helped to have clearer pricing on the menus, we were not sure of the cost of the daily menu, which turned out to be the same as the a la carte menu. Also the pillows were made of hollowfibre and very uncomfortable.
We enjoyed the outside spaces, especially the pool areas as they were very scenic and well serviced. We found that although the hotel was good, it was not quite worth the money charged.
Great swimming pools, decent beach, good breakfasts, very friendly service at reception. Lunch menu is overpriced. The beach is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and you have to cross a public parking lot.
the swimming pool and the beach
the room, the service be4 hand, the food range could be better, as could the beach facilities, we could do away with all the peddlers of rubbish on the private beaches, they could have catered better be4 hand for celaics, otherwise, the general space was large n expansive, the restaurants, only 3.5 star quality food and service was as amenable as possible, but not what i m used to, which is almost military like precision for my meals. otherwise the hotel did try, but trying is not good enough these daus. the beach access was not immediate, the location, not perfect, n the facade needs a re work of paint, if it truly wants to have a 5 star standard, the concierge facilities should be more on the ball, eg like all starwood n relais n chateux properties, as an italian comparison, pronto, prestissimo, and tutto complaint!
The location and garden/pool area Hard bed
The food was very good with a variety of different menu's throughout the week and good local wines. Breakfast was also good. The waiting/bar staff were exceptionally helpful and accomodating. The hotel has nice views and is nicely decorated with a huge selection of information on places to visits in the library. You will definately need to hire a car to stay here as it really is quite isolated and roads are too dangerous to walk on. There are far too many steps - to get from the hotel to our room, we had to walk up 40 steps in total. We are young and fit but that would be difficult for anyone outside of this category. Just a silly thing, the maids tend to turn up at different times each day which is an inconvenience when you are trying to relax, they don't stop talking!!!!
The hotel's structure and restaurant. It was a little difficult to find by car. The parking was a little far and there was no porter to carry the luggage at night. The parking was not cheap (around 20 EUR per night).
Excellent location, very friendly and attentive staff. Great food, great pool. The room was large and clean with a private terrace overlooking the sea.
The friendly staff is exceptional. Good location and good price. Everything was perfect
The private boat was the only thing that makes this hotel comparable to other beautiful hotels on the island. The service was distant, cold, anything but welcoming, staff are not client savy. Never ever go to this hotel with kids, they are not welcome by staff or guests. By the way, the north of the island is overrated. They dont have a beach!!! The ones that are close are terrible and full of tar.
The athmosphere, the staff, the location
The Hotel was very good rated, but I had some doubts from the pictures. However, it is a versy nice hotel, which is build on the hill in a kind of bungalow style, but all bungalow's are connected. So you feel like having a own appartment/house, but are in a complex. nice. very nice view, ok breakfast, big rooms, big balcony, friendly personal. Good! The good beaches are a bit away, but there are some, so don't worry.
Great breakfast by the pool, really nice and romantic, very pleasant scenario. Few rooms, few people. The room had a gorgeous view. Although the hotel is closer from the village, it is more convenient to have a car if you want to explore the surrondings or go out for dinner.
Relaxing no hassle do as you like hotel with a view to die for Could benefit from a greter variety of food
staff, restaurant there is no beach in 100 meters as it was in the description.
Nice view. Very quiet. Good restaurant & bar. Very nice beach. Quite isolated. 20-30 min. to the beach with an 8 seat van on a dusty road. Nothing in walking distance - a car is a must.
The view was breath taking and every new day another beautiful picture was painted during the breakfast session. The staff was super friendly and very service oriented. The restaurant was really among the top restaurants, every day a different menu with fresh top ingredients. This hotel is rather a 5 than a 4 star hotel. I hope to visit them again.
Beautiful views from the restaurant terrace Very overpriced, not even remotely in the same league as the Cala di Volpe mentioned in another review
The hotel is lovely! It has a great location but you should definitely hire a car in sardinia! the room was really cosy and cute and the staff was great! It is a great choice of hotel in sardinia and we will definitely come back! Nothing
The genuine personal care and attention given to all guests by all the staff was outstanding. The setting was superb and the meals were very good. We shall certainly stay at this hotel again. We enjoyed it and did not have anything to dislike about our experience.
The hotel is really top. Perfectly situated on a mountain with perfect view over Cala di Volpe. The hotel is even better than the Cala di Volpe Hotel. Perfect place for staying at Costa Smeralda. Absolutely super was the for free included shuttle service to the beach, where also beds and umbrellas are reserved for hotel guests. Nice pool, nicely designed room with balcony. The breakfast was good for Italy, however a small room for improvement from a German perspective.
Amazing staff. Excelent welcome cocktail. Will return for sure. A little bit more variety on the breakast.
The friendliness of the man who controlled the beach was exceptional A rat that ran through the outside bar area.....
Beautifull rooms and a free shutlle service to the beach. I was on business and it does not cater to the business traveller.
Location - we had a hire car and ability to drive to fabulous towns and beaches near by. Palau and Caggiano amazing. No swimming pool so if sea water was too cold to swim you had no where else.
Good location. Good room. Optimal price-quality ratio Don't go camping there
Great location, lovely beach and amazing views
Spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. We need to go through bookings again to prolonge our stay, even if rooms were available.
Very nice rooms and staff. Good location with it's own beach. The breakfast doesn't worth 8 euros a person
The Isuledda is a fantastic resort in a stunning setting eith a choice of two small half moon yellow sand beaches to one side of the resort and a stunning white sand beach to the other. This beach leads on to lots of little private coves where you can find your own special little spot to swim and sunbathe. I would say if you want to get around you need a car but if happy to stay put you can get the bus direct from the airport to here for 8e each way. Be aware the bus does does run after 8pm from the airport mid Sept onwards though. There is a dive centre & bicycle hire available & an amphitheatre for evening entertainment & a couple of restaurants but again I was there from 25 Sept * this had all finished for the season. Fab place!! When I booked through Booking.com there was no mention that the entertainment and activities facilities had finished for the dates I was going (21st Sept for 4 Nights). It would have been good to know this. I couldn't fault the hotel at all and the staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke good English.
it has excellent location nearly at the beach and close to other nice beaches at Costa Smeralda poor meals
everything very welcoming
needs restauration, esspecially camping facilities
Location was excellent The beds were ok but could be better
The position is good, overlooking the coast. Breakfast is adequate and staff was helpful at all times. You do need a car to move around. The room could've been a little larger.
Excellent hotel, room, restaurant, all could not be faulted. Meals in the restaurant excellent and better value than nearby estabilishments. Superb views from room balcony.Staff very friendly and able to advise on local attractions etc.
The hotel is beautiful and peaceful. Decorated in typical Sardinia style. I would have preferred if the hotel's swimming pool was opened longer -- either earlier or later. I also would have preferred that the automatic espresso maker at breakfast be replaced with an actual barrista. There is nothing better than a hand-made cappuccino. The automatic machine was convenient for the hotel, but the flavor of the coffee was a disappointment for me! Other than that, my stay was wonderful!
The staff was very helpful and kind and the hotel is open the whole year. Tje room was bad, during my visits for more than 30 years in Sardegna I did not have such a bad room. The bathroom was very bad and too small, no warm water, between the toilet and shower maximum 15 cm. The airco was defect and on the terrace no table, only two chairs.
We stayed for four nights in mid June. It's a fantastic location just a mile up in to the hills outside Canniogione (but you will need a car). Very friendly staff and lovely pool that was very quiet. Our room had a lovely terrace with amazing views of the bay. I'd really recommend this to anyone who likes peace and quiet.
Absolutely perfect!!!! The owners and staff are just amazingly nice, great room (very very new and beautiful) we went to 5 differents hotel in Sardinia and it is simply the best one. the see is very close and the beaches there are beautiful. again thanks for the welcome!!! We highly recommend this hotel to everybody Nothing negative
