Loved the view of the Temple of Zeus and the Acropolis. The morning breakfast was terrific and good value. The walk was very convenient, but the few shops next door made it look seedy to presence of the hotel. I thought 25.00 for a Margarita and 16 for a beer was a bit over the top. The prices for bar drinks make a traveler like me go elsewhere for a drinks, when I would really rather stay and drink in the relaxing atmosphere of the pool and hotel.
good location, very nice staff furniter in room can be re new
Location and staff Very old room, very bad veiw from my room, room can be seen in 2 stars hoteks
Loved the room and it's close proximity to walkable parts of Athens. Also has a beautiful view of the temple of Zeus and the acropolis, both within walking distance. Hotel was comfortable and the service was good, though there were some issues with the room service. They were also kind enough to upgrade our room for free! The room service had some issues, first with ordering then with delivery. We received the wrong dish, after having to call four times to get them to understand what we wanted. However they were quick to bring the correct one to us at no additional charge.
Excellent location...beautiful views from rooftop restaurant..friendly and helpful staff..quiet nights~ Expensive parking
They were very nice and gave us a free upgrade. The room was beautiful- much larger than typical
the staff's demeanor was excellent and personable. The Panoramic suite had an incredible view and the rooftop bar had a staggering view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. If you can afford a night or two of luxury and five minute walk from the Acropolis...stay here. Dannis K. - Toronto
It was a great hotel for a one night stay in Athens. The staff was very helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect very close to Acropolis and main city area. I would stay here again & recommend to friends as well. The bathroom could be updated it's very basic, decor updates are needed. Room service is too overpriced, luckily there's a lot of places to eat close by.
Hotel is well-located to Acropolis and its surrounding. Hotel itself is "old-fashioned" in its best meaning. Staff is very friendly and room was a very cozy. We would like to come back.
Front desk and restaurants were accommodating. Only Internet issues in room; yet connection was fine on main floor.
Great location near acropolis and the shopping areas. We were able to walk to monstroaki and the parliment square as well. Temple of zeus is just across the street. Breakfast buffet is great with an amazing view. We came w our 17mo old and they provided a pack n play. Easy stroller access to front entrance an elevator. Easy stroller side walk access to near by sites. Pretty good sized room considering. Overall a good place to stay w kids Rooms could use a little updating
the view from the roof garden-bar is awesome! small room
Very nice hotel, great location. The room was quite big and the bed was sooo comfortable. I was impressed by the design. They could improve breakfast. It's ok to have the same breakfast everyday but food that should be warm was cold constantly.
I had a noisy room on the street.
The location of the hotel was great. It is very close to the Acropolis, which was the reason for us to visit Athens, Greece. The view from the roof of the hotel was stunning.
The hotel was great. Perfect location and a great example of a 5 star hotel. Staff were very friendly, spoke excellent English and helped in every way possible. No negatives whatsoever. If I'm in Athens again this is where I'll be staying.
Definitely the location is outstanding! Don´t have separate twin beds. All rooms have double beds, that can be a limitation.
Well situated hotel.
Service was impeccable, food was delicious, especially upstairs on the rooftop. Killer view. Oh, and the mattress and bedsheets are of high quality - you'll sleep very well. The wifi is kinda slow, shower design will leave your floor soaked
the pool the pool the pool it was so refreshing after a hot day of travel or site seeing a true treat! the big fluffy extra pillows were a bonus, was properly air conditioned and plenty of room to bounce around. breakfast was great, fresh OJ and Greek Frappé coffee yumerola!!! the pool and deck gets a bit crowded at peak times as it is quite small and overly chlorinated so bring your goggles!
Location and American Breakfast. Some, but not all, of the reception desk staff did not seem too interested in helping out of towners. None had ever heard of Continental Airlines and were not too interested in helping me get in touch with them.
During previous stays in winter, the rooms were centrally heated and it was impossible to get the temperature below 25 degrees Celcius without opening the windows. During this stay, I was able to switch on the airo . They told me they changed thear heating policy after receiving complaints. Bravo! No reason to avoid this hotel any longer.
The location, in a quiet central street; the common premises (lobby, terraces, swimming pool, restaurant, breakfast room, with the exception of the spa which is disappointing) more than the rooms themselves; the professional staff; quality and variety of breakfast; restaurant is good, but too expensive compared with Athens standards. Only one problem, but major: our room was overheated because of the amazing heat coming from the minibar, to the point where the air was almost unbreathable. To be fixed urgently!
The Plushness of the hotel. They allowed us into our rooms at 9:00 a.m. on our arrival day. Wonderful!! We could sleep and then hit the town.
Excellent location very close to the Acropolis in a nice little residential neighborhood. There is a Spar supermarket down the street and a small convenience store on the same block. We found our room to be very comfortable. We had a balcony with a nice view over Athens. I would definitely stay here again. The bathroom was a bit impractical: when you shower, the water goes all over the floor. Also, the sink is very shallow.
Our second stay at Divani, and it was lovely. The staff offers excellent service and is very attentive. The location is the best as all major sights can be easily reached by walking or the metro. the room was fabulous. I would highly, highly recommend it to all. on the night of the August full moon, we had dinner on the patio. we overlooked the acropolis and it was very memorable
Close to Acropolis & main sights Clean & comfortable Courteous staff Breakfasts, although varied in selection, were poorly prepared.
it was not realy what i ecpected from i 5 star hotel when they mention that its possible to add a bed in a room then they should be ready for it and could organise
Beautifully decorated and clean room and helpfull staff Breakfast was too expensive
As our room was in the building that was recently renovated, the facilities were brand-new. The location is convenient to visit Acropolis. We were annoyed by their house-keeping services. Everytime they cleaned the room, they forgot to supply glasses and cups. And the most disappointing thing was that they didn't clean the room one day even though I put on the 'make up room' light and even asked them to clean the room over the phone. When I returned to the room in the evening to find the room had not got cleaned and complained, the lady didn't apologize. She dared to say it was because I had put on the 'do not disturb' light, which was not true.
the location; the room; the staff shuttle (does not exists)
adequate city hotel rtaher lifeless
Location was great, the room was very nice, with a balcony. The roof deck was closed, one of the biggest selling points on the hotel. Also, no transportation service available to/from airport.
excellent location staff was forgetful
Location and professional staff Very bad beds, sheets and blankets. Almost 'YMCA level'
roof top restaurant overlooking akropolis
New and feels cutting edge. Good location right in the heart of everything. A/C in the rooms works well on hot summer days. The way in which the hotel is new and cutting edge feels like it was put together very quickly, and in a few years time won't be that nice. Showers seem to leak water all over the bathroom. Service at the restaurant/bar on the rooftop is mediocre.
Excellent location. Cleanliness of room - & everything worked! Staff were knowledgeable & friendly. Very good food, including breakfast. The rooms are on the small side, & also quite noisy at night.
Staff was very friendly. For example, when the manager at the reception learned that it was my wife's birthday, he sent a bottle of red wine and fruits to our room.
The location was terrific and we enjoyed our room. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was sleek, clean and modern. We especially enjoyed breakfast in the Roof Garden with the wonderful view. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the service was very good. Our room was a little small, but this was not a big problem. The marble stairs felt a little dangerous - it might be good to install hand rails on the upper floors.
Everything was outstanding
The hotel is in an ideal position to visit the major sites of interest in the city.We were always made most welcome by the staff and the breakfast buffet was very good.
Fabulous views, good location, small but stylishly modern room with all amenities. Lots of traffic noise.
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely. Bathroom was very nice, shower was excellent, shampoo/conditioners etc were very good quality as i didn't want to unpack, so just used them. Location is excellent, just around the corner from the Plaka area and very safe. Near the metro also. The Roof Garden bar was lovely although, closes at 11pm. View of Acropolis was lovely from there. Can't find any faults. Probably wouldn't pay the extra againf or a room with a view of Parthegon or Acropolis, as the roof garden made for a nice view anyway. In all, a very nice hotel with lovely staff who come across as genuinely friendly people.
Helpful staff. especially John the Concierge, who had good tips on where to eat.
the sights from the room and the restaurant are great
The food and the view from the roof top restaurant were fabulous. The elevator was unusually small and handling luggage was very difficult.
Superb staff, incredible views, and wonderful service. It really makes you feel as if you're home while in Athens. Next time we're back in Athens, we'll be staying here.
Fabulous views Breakfast was okay, but could be better (would be nice to have fresh juice, more selection)
fine location, in the middle of shopping center. breakfast was excellent.staff willing to help. cleaning service was excellent no terrace restaurant
Friendly, courteous, helpful staff, great location, clean, attractive facility
Very convenient location, very comfortable.
The location is the main advantage of the hotel. I didn't like the small bathroom in which it was difficult to move.
The views from the rooftop bar were gorgeous. Breakfast spread was excellent
location, staff, and enviornment
Excellent customer service, modern and spacious room I will definitely come back and stay with Electra.
Location, comfort, cleanliness and value for money
Room was tiny, bathroom was tiny, staff was incredibly rude. Make sure you state the number of guests (e.g., 2) and not just that you need one bed or they will try to give you twin bed.
Excellent location, at 2 minutes walk from stop of X95 bus from airport; around corner from Akropolis. Good room, friendly staff, great breakfeast No complaints
good location One staff in reciption was not polite in giving info about additional taxes and wanted me to just sign the credit card bill quickly!
the central position the noise in the room
The hotel was ideally located, in a quiet area with lots of restaurants nearby and the Acropolis museum metro stop. It also had a rooftop garden and jacuzzi with a stunning view over to the Acropolis, which was ideal for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Athens. Clean, comfortable and good choice of food at breakfast time. As other customers have already commented, It would have been nicer if the Jacuzzi was free to use (at the moment its costs EUR5 for each 15minutes)
The roof top terrace and the lobby area with the reading materials. No.
Good situated within Athens, but noisy traffic for the front rooms on first floor. Asked for an upgrade to a bigger room and got the answer that all rooms have the same size which wasn't true as we could see by passing some rooms where the door was open. Well, we arranged with it.
I have stayed in many hotels around the world and I must say the Herodion was easily one of the best. All the staff were extremely helpful and very professional. The presentation of the hotel felt like 5 stars and the food was amazing. My wife and I have every intention of staying there again should we go back to Athens on holiday. The only minor points that stopped the Herodion getting full marks in every aspect was that the bed in the double room was actually two single beds pushed side by side and the pillows/matress was a little hard.
Very comfortable beds,a great view of the Acropolis, clean rooms.good breakfast buffet no complaints, but rquest a room on the Acropolis side, not the street side.
Firstly location: very close to Acropolis and Plaka district. Almost in front of touristic bus (nbr 400) stop. Then we liked because we asked through the website a room for 1 couple and 1 adult with view and they arranged exactly that. And finally good service and a beautiful terrace facing Acropole, with also 2 jacuzzis. Not really.
Comfortable room with an excellant view to the acropolis. Quite and nice surrounding with a short walking to the centre of the city.
The lobby was beautiful with artistic wire statues and a bar/restaurant with trees growing through it. The staff is very professional and tries to be very helpful (though both times I stayed at the hotel there was not a doorman to greet me and carry my luggage up the steps). Gorgeous rooftop bar and a nice jacuzzi area on the floor below it. We stayed at the hotel 2 nights--one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. The first room we had at the beginning of our trip literally reminded me of a hostel I'd once stayed at--the bed was a hard board looking thing with a gross looking red coverlet (not even a comforter). We also did not get one bed but instead, two twins pushed together. When I returned on the last leg of my trip I mentioned this but they only had one room left and put me in an equally bad room (only after accidentally giving me the key to an occupied room). This room at least had better beds and bedding but because it was on the first floor, it had no natural sunlight (blocked by the building) and made me feel as if I was staying in someone's basement. It was also a smaller room than the first and we struggled to find a place out of the way to put both of our suitcases. The air conditioner also leaked water. It's a shame--beautiful hotel but sadly the rooms are not up to par. Perhaps at $200 US dollars/night I didn't spend enough to get a nice room?
The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Metro. Make sure to ask for an outside facing room as some rooms can be small and cramped. The downstairs lobby area is very nice with a good atmosphere to sit and talk or to read/write. Sometimes the rooms can be cramped and dark. Sometimes cab drivers can't locate it, but just tell them to drop you off by the Acropolis Museum and you can navigate it easily.
This is the perfect location for exploring Athens. Safe Street, restaurants and shopping nearby, immediately adjacent to the modern and magnificent Acropolis museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very quiet and the rooftop view of the Acropolis is spectacular.
Great value for money, well located close to the Acropolis, nice common areas and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Bathroom a bit dated, but very clean. No issues. Room had no view, but for the money, more than acceptable.
Excellent location, friendly staff The room needs renovation, especially the furnitures. Room 509 was noisy when the window was open. I didn't like the coffee and the orange juice, the rest of the breakfast was ok.
good location near metro stop, complementary breakfast ok rooms face main street and without AC switched on it was necessary to open windows- very noisy all night long, very small bathroom/shower.
central to everything
Location is good, close to Metro and bus stop for airport bus Hotel is of one to two star quallity only. Bathroom door cannot be closed, no electric socket, room smelled, toilet was dirty
We stayed for 2 single nights, on both end of our sailing charter out of Athens. The staff was helpful and the location was good for walking to sites like the Acropolis. The room was not fancy, but was clean and the breakfast was good. If you're high enough, and on the street side of the building, you can even get a view of the Acropolis. Great value for a 2 Star.
Location Everithing. The olny thing it has, is the location. The rest is unbelievable. The shower broken, no A/C, they didn´t allowed us to take one towel to de beach!!!!, breakfast horrible.
location kind of warm in the room during the day. No A/C in April.
Cannot beat the location, right off Syntagma Square Functional Very good breakfast Great view from the roof 150 yards from X95 bus to airport Shower head constantly leaked Rental lockers were difficult to access and use No view out window Bathroom and room were cramped Only one outlet available in room In and out of elevator was tough with luggage
We loved the hotel Arethusa. It was in a superb location, convenient for every where. The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were lovely. Very good value for money. The beds were a little hard. Our room had floor to ceiling windows directly opposite an office block about 30 feet away. The windows did not have nets and I am not sure whether we or the office workers were more surprised by our appearances in the nude.
The excellent location, close to the parliament square and the subway stations and various shopping and dinning options within walking steps The furnitures inside the room are not function well
the location and breakfast although the breakfast could have changed over a week stay it was difficult to regulate he heat The bathroom was small and he shower was tiny
Central location. The new rooms. The old lower standard room.
i always choose room 604 because I can look at the parthenon of which I adore. the curtains ar very dirty and the curtains extr. dirty.they need renovation
Simplicity and grat location
Great location of hotel
Breakfast. Excellent location couldn't have been better. Very clean Room kind of small. Small bathroom. But very clean. Nice staff.
central position no
very easy walk to the acropolis, nice view of the acropolis from our balcony, good buffet breakfast included in price, very helpful staff.
The location Hotel staff was not very helpful
convenience, accessibility. no hot water bottle, no specific instruction about the central market or other visit suggestions at the front desk. Staff courtesy can be improved.
the friendliness of the staff as well as the location (in the center of Athens)
The helpful and friendly staff, the air conditioning, the internet availability, the cafe Explanation card of the electrical power usage and turning on the television and air conditioning unit for foreigners like me would have been nice.
Amazing location near the Parthenon, the Acropolis museum, the metro, and the Plaka tourist shopping area. Plenty of tavernas, gyros, and gelato nearby. Our room on the 3rd floor was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable so I got a very good sleep. The full breakfast had many choices - breads, cereals, eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt+honey, feta+cucumber+tomato, fruit, etc. I wish I could stay longer!
clena and great location with a good buffet breakfast the price is a little hig and bathrooms are a little old (but clean)
In the end, good service We had assumed, based on photos and text, that the Parthenon hotel had views of the Parthenon. When we arrived, it had views of a blank wall a few feet away. After some argument with the reception they admited to having one room with a partial view, which we took.
The breakfast served by the hotel was excellent. No.
Giota was exremely helpful and nice as were all of your staff. Giota went out of her way to see that we were well informed and helped.
The prompt help of the staff in order to solve the variuous problems The fact that it was very cold in the room during the night and we were told that if outside is warm the hotel doesn't turn on the heating! Very original, but quite cold to have a nice sleep!IT'S Not at all a real 4 stars hotel, but only a 3 (greek way)! Poor choice of breakfast, no fresh fruits, only frozen ones!
The location was great and the staff were great too
Location is good. Very close to the Acropolis and near Plaka. Could use some updating and room could have been cleaner.
Nice clean room, near to the places we wanted to visit
Excellent location. Steps away from the New Acropolis Museum. Steps away from a pedestrian only street with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and street performances. Very close to the Acropolis and the Metro station. The pedestrian only street allows you to go all the way around the Acropolis and see other antiquities such as the Agora and the Thiseum. Excellent free breakfast with 50 different dishes. It is a full breakfast, not a continental breakfast as is it appears in the description of the hotel. Nothing. It was better than I expected.
Location, accessibility to public transportation, especially if you need to early check in your morning flight (before 6:00am).
The hotel's location is perfect just a few minutes walk from Syntagma Square - bus (Euro3.20) and train (Euro5) from the airport take you there. You are situated within walking distance of all the major tourist sites that you will want to visit. Syntagma is the hub for the Athens transport system which makes it easy to go to all other areas in Athens including the train to Port Pireas if you want to go to one or more of the Islands. A 7 day ticket for all public transport (tram, bus, train) costs Euro10 and is great value. So many places to eat around that part of the city and English is readily spoken. The hotel rooms are typical in European size (small) but a far higher quality than most you experience in Europe - true 3+star rating. Breakfast is good value and provided over a 2.5hrs period. The cleaniness of the hotel was all that you could desire. The only negative feature is a shower designed without side walls or curtain which gets the floor extreamly wet after use - you need all the towels provided to mop up . TV is all Greek with the exception of CNN (there is only so much you can take of CNN!!!) and CH 5 with an English movie accompanied with Greek subtitles each night. Would be the first hotel we would go back to if visiting Athens again. Excellent in value and location. If only the rest of Europe's hotels were like the Amazon.
Everything was excellent. Good room, clean, airconditioning, movies etc The staff were really helpful. Location wass perfect.
The staff was excellent & extremely helpful, we were given a room with a view of Acropolis, every day the room was cleaned and the breakfast though basic was ample! The only thing that could be improved is soundproofing in the room as you could ,at times, hear someone moving outside.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Very clean room + bathroom Breakfast could be improved adding some fresh fruit/vegetables. In my room the wi-fi signal was very weak, but working. Small bathroom
The rooms were maintained to a very high standard, and the housekeeping was spot on. The shower fixture was mounted at waist-height which wasn't the most practical.
The Internet connection was very comfortable to use. The noise, eraly in the mornings, at about 04:00.
Good area near lots of restaurants and major sites. Hotel is very basic with very small rooms. Good to rest and shower but far from luxury. Basic tourist level 2/3 star spot. AC was very good. Towels need an upgrade. Very thin and overused. Bed was very hard and small.
Very close to plaka
Free wi-fi, the friendly personal Very small rooms.
It was a cheap stay for 1 night during transit. The location was great and it was easy to be able to walk to all the sites in Athens downtown (i.e. Syntgama square, Monisteraki market and Plaka). Breakfast was good and starts early. I am a vegetarian and I had few options but plenty like fruits, cereals, bread and some dessert. They have juice, coffee and tea. For meat eaters, they had lots of options like eggs, some cured meats, fish, omelette, etc. The carpets were outdated and looked overused. The bathroom was too small and compact. Had a stuffy smell in the room which I guess was because of old carpet.
Great location and great air conditioning! especially in the 40 degree heat of Athens
Roof top patio/bar with excellant view of Acropolis makes staying here a must. This was our 5th visit. Helpful staff, free internet, and convenient location are also major pluses.
Staff was very helpfull and location was great. It needs to be renovated. Room was too small and all furnitures were very old. I had a view of the wall of the next building.
The area was very near the city center with a great view of the Acropolis. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was on the small side and the breakfast was mediocre at best. Avoid the charge and eat out. Plenty of good places nearby.
3 minute walk to the metro station and a 5 minute walk to the center
Leaving The location. We did not like Athens City at all.
The staff is excellent, and the location is very good. The bathroom is to small.
Close to airport metro link. Rooftop Bar
friendliness of front of house staff. cleaners and breakfast room girl Lack of window screens - thus mosquitos! Shower curtains sticks to us when showering Fridge not cold enough for the contents would be lovely to have medzes offered - even a dip/biscuits on roof - better to eat a little when consuming alcohol!
It was central and enabled us to access historic sights, shopping and delightfule eating. all good
location, clean, balcony with view over the Acropolis, roof terrace, discount for parking
only a 2min walk from the metro. Fabulous view from the rooftop garden/bar of the acropolis. basic but clean and convenient
We stayed only for one night to discover Athens. The hotel's location is great. Nice restaurants are around, city center and metro is very close and easy to reach when you walk. The rooftop bar has a amaizing view to the achropolis!
Great view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar! Only bummer was that the hot tub is not open during the winter.
Proximity to museum and plaka Internet didn't work TV cable news etc a joke.... The bed a single hard uncomfortable plank Everything for 120$??
Rooms were comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with lots of selections. The rooftop bar had stunning views of the acropolis. The location was PERFECT! Walking distance to everything you need to see! A little mold in the shower.
Breakfast Room size. Value for money. Terrible wifi. Ti.iny elevator.
Drinks at the rooftop bar with the view of the Acropolis lit up at night is definitely a highlight!
Close to trains and Plaka Staff were not kind nor attentive
Central location: walking distance to major sites and restaurants, and Metro Akropolis station (easy access from ATH airport). Decent bathroom (the only one has a clothes line for the six hotels stayed in Greece) and room with a comfortable queen size bed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Wireless internet in room never worked for the 3 nights we stayed. We had to use the old computer in their conference room on Floor H, which was fine if no others are waiting in line. Safe is not large enough for a small lap top.
Location excellent The room allocated was on Floor 1 at the rear of the hotel and the noise from the airconditioning units made getting a good nights sleep impossible. Having booked well in advance and staying for 4 days thought a better room could have been provided. Selected the hotel due to its location and supposed view from the rooms window.
The staff at the Hera is wonderful!!!! Always knowledgeable and helpful. The location is perfect as it is walking distance to the Acropolis and museums. Very safe neighborhood with fine restaurants only a few doors from the Hera, as is the Metro station which is the cleanest subway that I have ever seen. If you go to Athens, you MUST stay at the Hera!
The hotel was one of the best I have stayed at. The room was quiet, had fantastic views (one of the Parthenon), and great bathroom facilities. The staff was friendly, accomodating, and answered all quewstions and requests promptly, including giving us a room with a view of the Parthenon. None
Everything....excellent location, the room was fabulous, cozy but very clean and classy decor (A/c was a bonus), very nice staff that were keen to helping their visitors and nice breakfast buffet. We would stay there again. besides having warm hallways...nothing. it was great. definitely has our recommendation to those staying in Athina.
the people friendliness, the garage, the top floor garden and the location of the hotel. the room was a bit compacted (not much free space). It was also a communicating room. Wether it was due to the communicating doors or not, the fact is that since very early (5h00am) we were unable to rest due to noise from the guests of the other room.
The location and the cleanliness. A smart hotel close to the metro and buses.
Close to metro,helpful staff,very clean,comfortable bed,free wifi internet,free parking,chocolate pancakes for breakfast.
Everything It was warm and AC was not on as of yet but we were ok.
The location is wonderful, about 2 blocks from the Metro and a short walk to the Plaka and The Acropolis. We had a nice view of the Acropolis from the roof garden restaurant. The man at the front desk recommended a tour package of the Acropolis, The New Acropolis Museum and downtown Athens. He then booked it for us as there is no concierge. They stored our luggage for us as we had to check out prior to leaving for the tour. We asked for a room with a view of the Acropolis when we booked as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were given a view of the back of a building about 15 meters away. (We originally had booked two nights, but had to change our travel plans and consequently were only able to stay one night, which might be the reason for our terrible view.) Also, we called from another Greek Island about 4 days prior to our arrival to make reservations at the hotel's rooftop restaurant. The woman at the front desk (possibly the manager) sounded a bit put-out and wasn't happy to hear that we were making a request and hadn't even checked into the hotel yet. No warm fuzzy feeling from her at all.
