Comfortable room with an excellant view to the acropolis. Quite and nice surrounding with a short walking to the centre of the city.
The roof top terrace and the lobby area with the reading materials. No.
Good situated within Athens, but noisy traffic for the front rooms on first floor. Asked for an upgrade to a bigger room and got the answer that all rooms have the same size which wasn't true as we could see by passing some rooms where the door was open. Well, we arranged with it.
Very comfortable beds,a great view of the Acropolis, clean rooms.good breakfast buffet no complaints, but rquest a room on the Acropolis side, not the street side.
Firstly location: very close to Acropolis and Plaka district. Almost in front of touristic bus (nbr 400) stop. Then we liked because we asked through the website a room for 1 couple and 1 adult with view and they arranged exactly that. And finally good service and a beautiful terrace facing Acropole, with also 2 jacuzzis. Not really.
This is the perfect location for exploring Athens. Safe Street, restaurants and shopping nearby, immediately adjacent to the modern and magnificent Acropolis museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very quiet and the rooftop view of the Acropolis is spectacular.
The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Metro. Make sure to ask for an outside facing room as some rooms can be small and cramped. The downstairs lobby area is very nice with a good atmosphere to sit and talk or to read/write. Sometimes the rooms can be cramped and dark. Sometimes cab drivers can't locate it, but just tell them to drop you off by the Acropolis Museum and you can navigate it easily.
The hotel was ideally located, in a quiet area with lots of restaurants nearby and the Acropolis museum metro stop. It also had a rooftop garden and jacuzzi with a stunning view over to the Acropolis, which was ideal for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Athens. Clean, comfortable and good choice of food at breakfast time. As other customers have already commented, It would have been nicer if the Jacuzzi was free to use (at the moment its costs EUR5 for each 15minutes)
the central position the noise in the room
I have stayed in many hotels around the world and I must say the Herodion was easily one of the best. All the staff were extremely helpful and very professional. The presentation of the hotel felt like 5 stars and the food was amazing. My wife and I have every intention of staying there again should we go back to Athens on holiday. The only minor points that stopped the Herodion getting full marks in every aspect was that the bed in the double room was actually two single beds pushed side by side and the pillows/matress was a little hard.
Great value for money, well located close to the Acropolis, nice common areas and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Bathroom a bit dated, but very clean. No issues. Room had no view, but for the money, more than acceptable.
The area was very near the city center with a great view of the Acropolis. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was on the small side and the breakfast was mediocre at best. Avoid the charge and eat out. Plenty of good places nearby.
location, clean, balcony with view over the Acropolis, roof terrace, discount for parking
The staff is excellent, and the location is very good. The bathroom is to small.
We stayed only for one night to discover Athens. The hotel's location is great. Nice restaurants are around, city center and metro is very close and easy to reach when you walk. The rooftop bar has a amaizing view to the achropolis!
It was central and enabled us to access historic sights, shopping and delightfule eating. all good
Staff was very helpfull and location was great. It needs to be renovated. Room was too small and all furnitures were very old. I had a view of the wall of the next building.
only a 2min walk from the metro. Fabulous view from the rooftop garden/bar of the acropolis. basic but clean and convenient
Roof top patio/bar with excellant view of Acropolis makes staying here a must. This was our 5th visit. Helpful staff, free internet, and convenient location are also major pluses.
friendliness of front of house staff. cleaners and breakfast room girl Lack of window screens - thus mosquitos! Shower curtains sticks to us when showering Fridge not cold enough for the contents would be lovely to have medzes offered - even a dip/biscuits on roof - better to eat a little when consuming alcohol!
Close to airport metro link. Rooftop Bar
Leaving The location. We did not like Athens City at all.
good position, the room was clean and quite comfortable. i couldn't pay with my credit cards, only with cash money
All our comments relate to the Herodion Hotel, sister of the Philippos Hotel. The hotel management had very kindly upgraded us to the Herodion for the same price as the Philippos because our airline (BA) caused us to arrive 6 hours late, well after midnight. The beds were a little bit harder than we would have wished.
The staff was sooo nice. We arrived quite late and they did not bat an eye. One morning we slept in and missed breakfast, they served us anyway and did not charge us an additional fee. The bed was a bit hard.
Personal was very kind and responsive Wi - Fi didn't work in our room
It was at a premium location, we had a view of Acropolis from our balcony. Very clean. It was in a residential area, so nice and quiet at nights. The lady serving in the breakfast room was making too much noise when putting away the crockery.
That it was in good location. Hotel Staff not speak good english and very helpfull, breakfast really bad, room extremely small and dirty, too expensive for what you get.
Clean, neat , very close to Plaka Small rooms, receptionists should greet their costumers, be more friendly, there is a feeling that you bother them.
Thursday morning desk clerk tried to confirm my airline flight. I would have liked help dragging my heavy bag up the front stairs.
position is good my room is the first room next to reception, too annoying and too loud outside
Located walking distance to sites, transport, and the older part of the city.
location. lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast not really ,although bath/shower was very small
Lovely view of Acropolis from my window/balcony.
We stayed for 5 nights as part of a wedding party and found that the hotel was ideally situated for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, etc., All in all enjoyed our stay and found that it was excellent value for money for city centre hotel. Everything was close by, including metro and restaurants (just outside front door) and the breakfast served on the roof terrace was always one of the highlights of the day made better by the company we were in. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Definitely the location, cleanliness, and breakfast buffet.
The roof restaurant where you can have a good view of the Acropolis is perfect!! Everything is perfect, although it is expensive, it worths.
excellent location bathrooms need updating/replacing
Excellent stay. A room with superb view.
Breakfast at the terrace and the location are fantastic. The staff is super kind and helpful. Shower too small, but I knew before I got there so it was not a surprise.
Excellent location - proximity to sights and tours. Great roof top breakfast facilities. Unpleasant odour in bathroom, air conditioner didn't work
Location, roof garden views, breakfast. Very soft beds, could not control room temperature,
The friendliness of the staff and how helpful they were all the time; they gave us tips to move around and help us to keep our luggage even when we've already checked out. The hotel is well located with many important places (most-visited historic attractions) at walking distance; also great was having a convenient small market next door where we could get fruits, beverages, baked goods, etc. The breakfast were very good, as well as the views from the roof lounge. The maze of streets – if you're driving a car there, it is hard to park and easy to get lost in the many one-direction streets.
The roof top area is brilliant and the views over the Acropolis stunning. Easy to get to agora, shops and eating places. Bathroom/shower room was a bit small. The lift doors were too quick.
The terrace has a beautiful view of the Acropolis and the location is very close to restaurants, bars, and other places you would like to see and visit.
Location was excellent for visiting all major sights on foot. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
Location was excellent - near Acropolis with a great view of the Parthenon from the roof bar, staff were friendly, the room was basic but big enough for 3, the breakfast was good and the hotel manager personally canvassed the breakfast room. Traffic noise on the lower floors was noticeble starting early
The location is phantastic: right in the heart of the old town. The outdoor bar on the roof has a breath taking view on the Acropolis - day and night! There is no other building in the way! The room was clean and fulfilled our expectations. Our room was a bit noisy due to the fact that the windows could not be closed properly. For an international hotel there where very view TV channels not in Greek.
clean, quiet, good beds, staff were sooooooooo friendly, soooooo helpful, roof top bar/lounging area was so quiet and romantic, looking right at the acropolis. hotel right in the old town of Athens, the ancient agora. been to Athens many times, 2nd time at Plaka Hotel, will only stay there from now on. nothing
Rooftop terrace view and Elsa our bartender. Efharisto!!!
Location, location, location. Plaka is located close to many main Athens attractions and transportation options.
The location was excellent. The roof garden was nice for relaxing and the breakfast was great although the staff would walk right by you and never speak, The check in staff were welcoming and very helpful with directions. It was all good. It is now on my list of reccomended places
The location was excellent. Walking distance to everything. Cleaning staff excellent. The traffic noise, even when the window was closed, was very, very noisy. We paid for a 5 hour WiFi card but their WiFi hardly worked so I couldn't use all my hours and staff would not refund me. A.C. didn't work first few days.
de tudo = of everything ( but one or 2 blocks on the streets are full of men at night but it was ok)
neighborhood, breakfast, bathroom+ price Security questionable.
great hotel but district scruffy. Lovely manager
Helpful staff. Convenient location for walking to Omnia Metro, Central Market, Shops, Cafes. Colourful atmosphere surrounding the hotel including lots of shops for clothes, shoes etc run by Chinese, open late. Night time the street was lively with comings and goings of colourful characters. Cafe on the corner was excellent value (no menu) one barbecue meat dish only, locals ate there. View of the derelict building opposite.
clean, looked fresh painted, good value for money. central position in the city it s not the hotel s fault, but of the region. lots of immigrants there from middle east, pakistan etc. better go to hotel from right side as u look at the front door of the hotel from outside, than from the left side.
I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff was so helpful, they gave me a map along with indications when I asked them what to visit. All sites very close, within walking distance. The rooms are very clean + free wi-fi!
Convenient location to Omnia Metro, Central Market, shops, cafes. Pleasant hotel interior, facilities, breakfast. Helpful reception staff. Colourful district both day and night. Good cafe on corner used by locals, no choice of menu just barbecued meats, greek salad and bread. View of derelict building opposite.
The position is ideal for bus and metro, being walking distance from Monasteraki and Omonia. The rooms are clean. The price for a single room is very reasonable, and the staff are helpful. I stay here whenever I need to spend a night in Athens. I'm not too happy about the pigeons walking around the breakfast tables!
Price, Food too noisy
Very near to the center of Athens
Location extremely convenient. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Room adequate size and well designed, clean, very clean!. Excellent breakfast, good value for money, we have booked to stay there again. Nothing
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were modern, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was updated and beautiful. Even the toiletries that were provided were quality. There is a rooftop terrace with a great view of the Acropolis and their sister hotel which is a few blocks away also has a rooftop terrace with a bar with the best view of the Acropolis. The breakfast was included in the price and was by far the best part. There was food to please every nationality of traveler. There was even a gluten free section. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Athens. There was some confusion when checking in regarding how many people were staying in the room so make sure you make this information very clear when making the initial reservation.
Good place overall. Central location. Breakfast is fantastic and gets your day started right! Room is a typical small European room, but I found the space adequate. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they gave me some useful tips for things to do. One thing I noticed was a small play area for children, but the hotel seemed to be adults only during my stay. Hotel is tastefully decorated. I was happy with my stay. Bathroom is a typical small European style, and like most Americans, I got water all over when I showered. Also don't open the windows at night or you'll get bit up by mosquitos.
Hotel receptionists speak perfect English. The guest services specialist, Eva, was extremely helpful each morning. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were very clean, and were updated. Shower was reasonably sized, compared to the majority of Greek hotels. Superior location in north Plaka. Wireless internet is not very good.
centrally located,helpful friendly staff,nice room
Location, breakfast, nice balcony Internet was not working for most of the time. Room needs an update.
Clean room and very close to the heart of the city. great place to stay for a quick vacation trip
The Complimentary wine was excellent as we enjoyed our balcony. The rooms were clean and the lady at the desk was friendly. The grumpy man at the front desk.
Quiet room, close to the center of Athens Missing stair rail between ground and next floor
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, esp when I was extremely jet lagged. The room was clean and comfortable. Location was excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer than 24 hours! Typical European room, Spartan and simple. Wifi in Greece weak almost everywhere, so lower your expectations regarding device connectivity, not hotel's fault. Everything was terrific
The fact that its located in the heart of Athens The room for 3 people to stay in was a bit too small. They need to make more big rooms to accomodate 3 and 4 people
View on the roof, location, parking spaces near the hotel. Could be cleaner
The quietness of the room not having a laundry service; not having free internet
Nice staff in a good location. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it's a nice place for the value. Good location near the Thissio subway station and neighborhood. There's a slightly dank smell in the bathroom. But just keep the window open.
The breakfast is about the best you'll get at this rate, the location is perfect for all of Athens. You won't find a better location in this price range. This is Athens, so surroundings are a little intimidating, but not bad.
The location is perfect, the staff kind and helpful. The bathroom clean , big enough and towels big and soft !!Enjoyed the variety of breafast. Was really wondering that at this time when computers are so common , at the hotel of three stars i had to pay for wifi 5e / hour !!
Location Bar prices excessive
Fantastic view from the roof garden!Closer to tourist attractions thah I thought. Good convenience store 1 block away.Breakfast was substantial and selection was varied.Very good AC system! I would recommend this hotel to all who want a view and comfort. No face towels.Front desk man with crewcut was not giving clear directions and was impatient; too in a hurry at 3pm to attend to customers at that time.A better, more varied menu selction at the roof garden restaurant. No lunch or snack available
The breakfast was ok and the staff was friendly. I expected something nice after reading the reviews on Booking.com but it turned out to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The whole hotel and the room stank like chlorine, the room was dirty, a couple of bugs crawling in the bathroom... not nice, especialy since the price was not that low and afterwards I found a way better hotel for a cheaper price...
excellent location - walking distance from everywhere. great balcony view of the acropolis. the room was a bit run down
Nice location, affordable Mold all over the shower
good location no
location was very good, near Monastraki station which is close to every attractions and good connection to the airport. night view from terrace was also very good and room was clean. lots of restaurants and bars near by. Room was a bit small, but good value for money. There is a church in front of the hotel, and church bells keep ringing very loudly from 7 am. if you don't want to wake up early, you don't want to stay here.
We had a great stay at the hotel. We really enjoy it.The place is very good , close to everything in some steps.Metro-market-Acropolis- restaurants....We recomented if you like to have a good hotel at the old town of Athens. The staff is very helpfull and especial the cleaner was amazing person ... No nenegatives for Arion hotel from us.......Have a nice stay all.....P.S. dont forget to visit olympiakos stadium......
environment of the hotel, cleaness of the hotel nothing special
Located in a very dark street in bad conditions, but next to a nice area with restaurants and cafe's. At night, it's safer to reach the hotel by taxi.
Proximity to the centre of Athens. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the rooms clean the view was spectacular from the rooftop balcony. The only comment I would make was lack of tea/coffee making facilites in the room.
Closness to every where, cleanliness The toilet and batheroom are separate facilities and have heavy glass doors that have to close every time you walk in or out, which makes it inconvenient as two people move arround in the room. Breakfast offers few choicess (no vegetables).
The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the city, within walking distance to everything. It has very clean and comfortable rooms. The excellent service of both Receptionists and Ms. Elena of Reservations Office is extremely impressive. It also provides good breakfast, What's more, breakfast normally starts from 7am, since we have early ferry to catch, it arranged to serve breakfast at 6:15am. Would recommend this hotel to everyone who will visit Athens. Nothing.
Convenient location, close to metro station that goes directly to the airport. Nice standing view (high barrier) of the Acropolis. Very bad area. In all my time in Europe, I've never been so fearful of being mugged. Need to walk through dark, quiet, narrow alleys filled with graffitti to get from the metro station to the hotel. Room was tiny with poorly placed bed (diagonal in a square room!).
Great views from our room and the roof terrace. The staff are great and the location is also good
Room design, rich breakfast, free internet
All staffs are wonderful, the receptionists, room cleaners, breakfast maids are the first class. Will back again and stay here. Lot of graffitis near hotel but it is everywhere in the town, some loude music from the back of the hotel at Friday midnight till 6 A.M. Get the room face the front if possible.
The staff in reception. Location The shower. You could not hang it up.
Excellent location, very polite and helpfull staff, cleareness of the room, really enjoyable it was a bit noisy in the mornings in the corridors
Great location - close to Plaka and many tourist sites Hotel was very basic and too expensive for the facilities.
Very central. Very good localisation. Internet Wi-fi free, what is very usefull. People very nice. Is a 2 stars hotel, in the center of the city, clean, a litle old, but we think it is ok.
Location, location, location. Very nice and helpful staff. Cool funk bar next door. Small sink and room sometimes smelled weird.
close to all the attractions, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with balcony and view on the acropolis, definetely good value for the money breakfast a bit monotonic but for 2-3 times ok
friendly smily stuff, very clean, location, price. breakfast!
Great central position. Clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast OK. Proper coffee would have been better.
Location is most convenient, all three metro lines are stone's throw away, tourist attractions within walking distance. Professional and friendly staff. Their hospitality was outstanding.
Very good location (close of the city center, metro, shops, tavernas). Clean hotel and the staff was very helpful. No complain. Everything was as I expected.
it was not realy what i ecpected from i 5 star hotel when they mention that its possible to add a bed in a room then they should be ready for it and could organise
Location and professional staff Very bad beds, sheets and blankets. Almost 'YMCA level'
Close to Acropolis & main sights Clean & comfortable Courteous staff Breakfasts, although varied in selection, were poorly prepared.
the location; the room; the staff shuttle (does not exists)
Beautifully decorated and clean room and helpfull staff Breakfast was too expensive
roof top restaurant overlooking akropolis
adequate city hotel rtaher lifeless
As our room was in the building that was recently renovated, the facilities were brand-new. The location is convenient to visit Acropolis. We were annoyed by their house-keeping services. Everytime they cleaned the room, they forgot to supply glasses and cups. And the most disappointing thing was that they didn't clean the room one day even though I put on the 'make up room' light and even asked them to clean the room over the phone. When I returned to the room in the evening to find the room had not got cleaned and complained, the lady didn't apologize. She dared to say it was because I had put on the 'do not disturb' light, which was not true.
excellent location staff was forgetful
Excellent location very close to the Acropolis in a nice little residential neighborhood. There is a Spar supermarket down the street and a small convenience store on the same block. We found our room to be very comfortable. We had a balcony with a nice view over Athens. I would definitely stay here again. The bathroom was a bit impractical: when you shower, the water goes all over the floor. Also, the sink is very shallow.
Location was great, the room was very nice, with a balcony. The roof deck was closed, one of the biggest selling points on the hotel. Also, no transportation service available to/from airport.
Our second stay at Divani, and it was lovely. The staff offers excellent service and is very attentive. The location is the best as all major sights can be easily reached by walking or the metro. the room was fabulous. I would highly, highly recommend it to all. on the night of the August full moon, we had dinner on the patio. we overlooked the acropolis and it was very memorable
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, from the stylish modern lobby to the sleek, well-appointed rooms. We were on our honeymoon and the staff went out of their way to make it special. They upgraded us to a suite with a view of the Acropolis and sent us welcome drinks and snacks. They also recommended a fabulous restaurant (Dionysus) and made us a reservation for a beautiful table. There was a lovely breakfast buffet included in the price of the room and we enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant and having drinks at the intimate on-site bar. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we would absolutely stay there again. We didn't want to leave!
Rooms were comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with lots of selections. The rooftop bar had stunning views of the acropolis. The location was PERFECT! Walking distance to everything you need to see! A little mold in the shower.
Close to trains and Plaka Staff were not kind nor attentive
Proximity to museum and plaka Internet didn't work TV cable news etc a joke.... The bed a single hard uncomfortable plank Everything for 120$??
Great view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar! Only bummer was that the hot tub is not open during the winter.
