- great location: next to Syntagma square, all the main tourist places are within walking distance - great breakfast: very good variety of savoury and sweet dishes, - Nice, large, clean and comfortable room: room and hotel are well maintained - we booked a double room and added "double bed" in our request, but for some reason, it was not communicated to the hotel (too many intermediary agents?) - so we were given twin room. The hotel was full and couldn't change our room. Make sure to email the hotel directly after booking!
Clean room, no noises around, very good bathroom, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast...In general i'm satisfied There was no window at my room that should open. Only one which was locked, so no fresh air from outside in. There was no wireless internet above third floor, only wired. A staff member told me that the internet wasn't free (actually it was), after a while he came to correct his statement but never apologized. I used the PC at the lobby.
Service was impeccable, food was delicious, especially upstairs on the rooftop. Killer view. Oh, and the mattress and bedsheets are of high quality - you'll sleep very well. The wifi is kinda slow, shower design will leave your floor soaked
During previous stays in winter, the rooms were centrally heated and it was impossible to get the temperature below 25 degrees Celcius without opening the windows. During this stay, I was able to switch on the airo . They told me they changed thear heating policy after receiving complaints. Bravo! No reason to avoid this hotel any longer.
The rooms are big and the location is great next to shopping and restaurants. Nothing
The location of the hotel is perfect, very much in the city center and able to go every where walking. External noises: the isolation of the rooms is not very good and therefore during the night we could hear the external noises.
Breakfast. Excellent location couldn't have been better. Very clean Room kind of small. Small bathroom. But very clean. Nice staff.
Simplicity and grat location
Room is well appointed and very comedienne. Staff is friendly and helpful. A beautiful well decorated old hotel with modern conveniences. Service in restaurants was a little sporatic. Water pressure in shower a little weak. No check out on TV, and in person checkout was slow.
The hotel as name suggests was very Grand the design was very beautiful
The hotel is great, very modern and rooms have a lot of space. The bathroom has a jacuzzi and a shower with many shower options. The bed is very large and confortable. The restaurant on the roof is so wonderful and has a very nice view. Staff has been very kind to us, helping with our luggage that didnt arrive. The relation cost/benefit is perfect.
Very helpful and friendly staff, they were attentive to all our needs and requests. Excellent view of the Acropolis and overall Athens. The restaurant-bar at the top floor is also a wonderful place for dinner or a drink. The boutique room (suite) is very overpriced. Small for its price, and without any distinctive features, apart from the balcony with the beautiful view.
The beautiful view and location. The restaurant in the roof was bad. The vegetables atbreakfast were not fresh at all. And in the evening the food I ordered was not tasty. The waitress was sweet and kind.
Location is good, only!
The views from the rooftop bar were gorgeous. Breakfast spread was excellent
Room was tiny, bathroom was tiny, staff was incredibly rude. Make sure you state the number of guests (e.g., 2) and not just that you need one bed or they will try to give you twin bed.
The excellent location, close to the parliament square and the subway stations and various shopping and dinning options within walking steps The furnitures inside the room are not function well
Superb staff, incredible views, and wonderful service. It really makes you feel as if you're home while in Athens. Next time we're back in Athens, we'll be staying here.
Helpful staff. especially John the Concierge, who had good tips on where to eat.
The rooms were amazing!!!
very good location in the center of Athens
It was a cheap stay for 1 night during transit. The location was great and it was easy to be able to walk to all the sites in Athens downtown (i.e. Syntgama square, Monisteraki market and Plaka). Breakfast was good and starts early. I am a vegetarian and I had few options but plenty like fruits, cereals, bread and some dessert. They have juice, coffee and tea. For meat eaters, they had lots of options like eggs, some cured meats, fish, omelette, etc. The carpets were outdated and looked overused. The bathroom was too small and compact. Had a stuffy smell in the room which I guess was because of old carpet.
Good area near lots of restaurants and major sites. Hotel is very basic with very small rooms. Good to rest and shower but far from luxury. Basic tourist level 2/3 star spot. AC was very good. Towels need an upgrade. Very thin and overused. Bed was very hard and small.
3 minute walk to the metro station and a 5 minute walk to the center
Checking in was fine until the moment we walked into the elevator. Now coming from the US maybe it's a thing, but the elevator states it could fit 4people vs reality you could fit you and your luggage comfortably (if your claustrophobic I advise take the stairs). On top of how small the elevator was there was no door so you saw the elevator going up so now you have to make sure you aren't so close because you'll probabaly get hurt. We get out of the elevator the hallway already gave me the impression of how outdated the hotel is. It looked like a scene from a horror movie. The light flickers on once you walk towards your room and it's not a very comfortable atmosphere. We walk in to our room and was SO dissapointed. Our room looked NOTHING like the pictures posted, was very outdated and had 2 twin beds when booked I asked for 1 bed obviously we're a couple. We called the reception and without even finishing our sentence rudely he shut us down. Walking into the bathroom it was so small, the tub was small when we showered all of the water was coming out with the curtains sticking to our bodies. The lights to the bathroom wouldn't even turn on without flicking the switch on and off a couple of times. Let's just say the room was so outdated we had to ask the reception how to flush the toilet and ofcourse answered so rude and acted like we were crazy and said "you press the button" obviously we know that but there was no visbile button. Once a employee comes in who was probabaly the nicest one there he showed us a big item above he show which had a syringe like button to press. You'd think having tourist from around the world they'll be more lenient on explaining things coming from the US that is not something you see everyday. Aside from all the dissapointments we refused to sleep there and slept over at our friends hotel because of all the dissapointments we had. We even checked previous reviews to go by to make sure we didn't miss anything and we didn't. The pictures they have are updated and the rooms look nice, not sure if they just gave us a VERY outdated floor/ room but I will never suggest anyone to stay here. I'm sure there are much better options available around. I never do reviews but I had to share my experience so nobody else can make the same mistake as I did. Aside from the hotel itself the location is near everything but the neighborhood isn't the best I'd becareful at night. This hotel seems to be a hotel where you'd want to stay for emergency purposes and have no other choice. Or if your into hotels that remind you of a motel on the road. If your looking for somewhere for romantic trip, relaxation, or anything you'd like to enjoy don't stay here.
