The vehicle type you decide on for car hire in in Agrigento all depends on your travel plans. The region is known for its spectacular countryside and tourist destinations, so exploring out of the city should be a bucket list. The best vehicle is a larger comfort SUV for long distance travel, so you can plan the day’s events at your own pace. If you are only visiting the city for tourist activities, then you will need a basic compact car for tight parking space and to fit down narrow roads.
In urban areas and residential areas in Agrigento, the average speed limit is 50 km/h (30 mph) unless otherwise signposted. The speeds may change abruptly as you enter unknown road networks, so always make sure you watch out for traffic signage.
Depending on your day’s itinerary, you should plan your parking in advance. If you are visiting the Valley of The Temple, Parking San Calogero offers ample parking spots. Lungomare Falcone e Borsellino Parking is located alongside the seafront promenade and Porta di Ponte Parking offers you easy access to the historical centres. On average, the parking costs are around 5€ (£4.20 ) per day, but will differ depending on the car park.

8.8 Very Good
Sept 2019
Pros:
The staff at both locations was friendly and efficient.Cons:
The return location at Catania arirport had no signage. It took us an hour to find where to return the car at the airport. They claimed they moved two months ago. That should have been enough time to erect signs. There were many car return locations. Every other car rental company had signs.6.8 Okay
May 2017
Pros:
The Agrigento office was significantly less crowded than Catania and much more efficient. They even gave us a ride to the train station. One location in Agrigento

Some Agrigento car providers already include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection Waiver into the hire price but not all of them. We recommend being aware of your coverage when hiring a car in Agrigento.
Keep in mind that car hire insurances often have a deductible clause, which is the amount you’ll have to pay if something happens during the time of your hire. If you want to avoid unwanted surprises, you should consider adding a non-deductible option to your Agrigento car hire.
