Excellent evening meal, good value and great view over the valley del templi.
Location is quite nice, if you have a car, you are 2 minuts from the arqueological site and 5 minutes form the town, othewise you can walk to the site (15 minutes) and can eat in quite good tratorias just across the street. Personal are very cordial and speak good spanish and english. Acommodation is good, not a fantastic 4 stars, but good enough.
Beautiful gardens are the best feature of this hotel. Staff was friendly and very courteous. Good value for the money
Hotel in front of the ruins. Nice bedroom & good breakfast.Parking. Payed internet.
Our room was one of the two on the top floor with a great terrace and view on the Valley of the Temples. Breakfast was good and there was a good choice of bread, yoghurt, cereals, bacon & eggs etc. Nice 'peculiar' details in the secoration of the hotel. Free parking.
The (female) manager was very efficient, spoke good English and was extreemly helpful. The hotel has a beautiful garden. We were happy that thishotel was not crowded with (bus)groups as many other hotels in Agregento. the entrance to the hotel. Dangerous (traffic)crossing! In combination with that the hotel was diificult to find. But if you know it, it is not a problem anymore. Room was O.K./good (good bed/matress and new bathrooms) but for the roomspace ,the price it was a little bit overrated.
Good location for viewing and visiting the Temples. Pleasant garden area and reasonably good restaurant
They gave us a great room with a big terrace with view of the 3 Greek temples, the garden below and the sun-set sea not far away. The food not too great.
room was excellent for the value it was a little hard to find it
Excellent location with meticulously kept grounds. The garden is particularly nice and invites to quiet stays during day and evenings. The rooms are somewhat small and the equipment is basic. The water pressure is low and flushing toilets was an effort...
The romantic location, the lovely warm welcome from the receptionist on duty and the small but beautifully appointed rooms The overpriced and very average dinner. the wine was rediculoulsy expensive for what it was and the service was very poor indeed
Excellent hotel and unbeatable location!
We booked deluxe rooms to guarantee a terrace and view of the Temple of Concord and they were wonderful - the most perfect view imaginable with enormous terraces. All the staff were charming and although the service in the restaurant was slightly chaotic (they were rather overwhelmed by a group) it didn't really matter as it was difficult to tear oneself away from the amazing view from both the restaurant and the lower terrace where breakfast was served. One of the waiters noticed our hire car had 2 nuts missing from 1 wheel and, because it was a public holiday and no garages were open, took off his white jacket and moved a nut from another wheel to make it safe.
One of the nicest hotels, and nicest settings for a hotel, that I have experienced. Comfort and friendliness.
it was quiet and the service was pleasant nothing that bothered us
Well staffed and very helpful. Well appointed rooms and very close to the monuments and the museum. Ability to make tea and coffee in the room. Courtesy car to the town would have been helpful, even if the hotel offered it on a regular basis, a lot of visitors will take up the option therefore prolonging their stay.
modern motel style, excellent with views over the temples, excellent breakfast, helpful staff nothing
The hotel and our room were gorgeous and comfortable I did not want to leave!!
Staff was excellent. Newly renovated rooms were some of the most beautiful I've seen anywhere. A perfect wedding of classic and contemporary style. Food in the restaurant was excellet and the view from the rooms and the hotel pool of the Temple of Concord, and also the Temple of Hera, was incomparable. Honestly, no.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. A beautiful hotel in spectacular setting ideally placed for viewing Valley of temples. On site parking a bonus One design fault... pale beige carpet in corridors leading to rooms impossible to keep clean not consistent with appearance of an otherwise gorgeous hotel.
Hotel nice and comfort. Good choice if you want to visit Agrigento, the Temple Valley and go to the beach, wich is not far from the hotel.
The room was standard for this price range, comfortable and clean. The parking across the road was fantastic and the hotel was well located for a visit to the temples. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The restaurant was brilliant - 5 courses for 16 euro. Highly recommended!
parking; well situated; kind staff beach hotel, you know...
Location is good, not in the busy town, but that's nearby. nearby the beach and tempels. Good english speaking staff Our room looked out over a concrete structure, it will probably be a hotel in the future but for now the view isn't to nice, but that's the "temporary downturn" of building a future
Friendly family atmosphere, with helpful, outgoing staff. Room was small and simply furnished, but clean and quite adequate for our needs. Easy drive to the Greek temples and archaeological museums, which were our major reason for going to Agrigento. Breakfast was largely plastic-wrapped and uninteresting, and the pool shown on the website was not available for use.
Hotel was in excellent condition, staff was very helpful Area is run down, dinner was not great
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, a buffet that comprised of fresh fruit. The rooms were comfortable and modern. Overall, we loved this place. We highly recommend it.
The staff were exceptionally helpful. I have special dietary requirements and the went out of their way to ensure the food I had was gluten free.
Good view and clean room. Enough parking lot. Easy access to promenade along sea shore. Cheep price.
extremely friendly staff, good restaurant
The hotel had decent rooms, very nice gardens and a pretty good pool. The staff were generally helpful and friendly. The dining arrangements were a bit disappointing. The restaurant seemed to be geared up to deal with coach parties and the waiting staff seemed too rushed and inattentive in consequence.
The staff was absolutely superb, very friendly, helpful and lots of energy. It was a pleasure just being treated well on top of an excellent set of amenities in a superb location. We will go back.
generally speaking, all facility is wouderful.breackfast is excelent.hotelstuffs are friendly and helpful. a little bit far from center of the old city, about 10min.swimming pool is too small for all guest.
Fair room decoration Unfriendly staff especially at the reception and swimming pool. Seems the hotel is empty when you need something. Despite misleading name, spa is separated from hotel and -high- charges apply
Excellent spa, pleasant surroundings, restaurant good. The grounds were attractive and well maintained. The rooms were also attractive They were not attentive in terms of upkeep and certainly not apologetic if something was not working. Something was wrong with the Sky tv, and, instead of apologizing and saying that it woulld be fixed for the next customer, the staff member was rather aggressive. There was no offer to change me to another room (there were plenty available). However, this experience was fairly consistent with my experience with Sicilian hotels (with some of the employees, certainly not alll). An exception (a lovely exception) is Hotel Roma in Syracuse. I highly recommend that hotel for anyone visiting Syracuse.
the trooms were very neat and tidy and the facility pleasant none
The quality does not reflect a 4 star hotel. The services and hotel staff were not really friendly. They could figure how to change the room because the one we booked had two single bed instead of a single double bed. Furthermore the didn't help us with our bags. It's not in city center. You need either a car or bus to get there. The hotel changed name few times and it's quite difficult to find. There was no secure parking and Agrigento is not the quietest city where to leave the car. Maps and tourist guides do not report it properly. People know the place with the old name "Jolly Hotel".
Parking reasonably easy, swimming pool good, access to Valley of Temples good but not walkable in hot weather (5 minutes drive), restaurant OK, Reception desk english reasonable. bedside lighting wired incorrectly (switches controlled the wrong lights), some poolside furniture in need of replacement, room safe door closed (we never managed to get it operative). Sky TV programmes very restricted.
Well located, nice gardens and pool, good value, very quiet restaurant
Excellent grounds and swimming pool. Very good breakfast. Parking available. Smallish room without a balcony. Twenty minute walk to town centre.
Cleaness, very confortable big-size beds. Expensive and not so close to the sea.
We were very happy to have a sea view room
The hotel was lovely, safety was excellent, surroundings very nice Some customers seemed to get nice coffee from the staff in the mornings. We did not like the coffee machine. We did not like the juices, would have preferred fresh.
Well refurbished beach hotel. Nice swimming pool. Excelent private beach. Beautiful gardens. Breakfast needs improvement (to match a four-star hotel).Internet didn't work. Too many group tours (coachs coming and going daily). Leisure and beach activities need obvious improvement (young hotel entertainers hanging around all day contacting no guests and organizing no activities).
I realy enjoyed the beach access. The breakfast was OK it is a typical Italian breakfast. The exterior of the hotel and the inside common rooms were very nice. The restraunt was over priced and the food was not very good. You were a ways from the town and the roads and the drivers make it difficult to travel arround at dinner time. The beds were OK except you could feel the springs in the mattress. The rooms were very basic with no comfortable seating. If they could just give a little comfort in bed and room I would highly suggest this hotel.
I enjoyed the view and the spa the best The fact they didn't open the gate to the Beach just because they class October as Winter. Also one of the waiters kept adding a couple of Euro's onto the bill everytime we bought drinks! A little irritating!
Very helpful staff
Fantastic locction and sea views No desk in the room - had to sit on the floor to use laptop. Small bathroom
wonderful view, everything clean and elegant, lovely beach and very safe in general. We will recommend this hotel the furniture is almost too "grandmother" and heavy according to us. We didn't like the food. Did taste Italian like gnocchi with a thick sauce. Breakfast like in a 2 stars with undrinkable fruit juice without fruit, no bread and everything packed as in a supermarket. Not fair to sell swimming cap at high price without telling before ( when booking).
This hotel is a good base for seeing the Vallei dei Templi, and is clean with pleasant rooms, and a nice pool and deck. Beds are hard. Hotel is impersonal because of size, and the tour groups that come there are noisy and not a nice atmosphere. Breakfast is not great.
Nice panoramic sea view , good breakfast and friendly staff .
We were delighted with the hotel and the hotel staff were very professional and helpful. Loved the modern decor. No we enjoyed our stay very much.
The design was interesting The room was too small, there was a problem with the parking
The facility was like new and the was enjoyable
We liked it so much that, having stayed two nights previously, we went back (after the volcanic ash delays). Boutique and newly fitted-out to a high standard in a modern stylish Italian way - light and airy with marble, glass and steel. Staff friendly, with basic english. Ideal location for strolling to Agrigento's main dining and shopping area (Via Atena), and for the bus for visiting the Valley of the Temples. Finding it by car is a counter-intuitive challenge. Directions, from facing the Central Station, are to take the road on the immediate right of the station (Via Empodocle). Go down hill and at the bottom (before the road rises again), you take a very tight left turn - 180 degrees. This takes you down to a short, narrow tunnel. Emerging, you go immediate left back up hill to reach the hotel (a white building on the right, near the station), which has two reserved parking places on the road alongside. Alternatively, park in the plaza in front of the staion and walk to the hotel for more advice about how to reach it!. The hotel is visible from the station car park, looking to the left of the station. All well worth the effort.
Great Decor, big spacious room with a large round bed, beautiful mosaic floor and a round bath in the very big bathroom, very clean, The nicest stuff, a real Jem!
Excellent staff - very friendly service !!!!! Very good design. For 4 star category the standard room is rather small without anteroom but for 1 night stay OK.
Foresteria Baglio della Luna is in a beautiful secluded spot within sight of the classical ruins of Agrigento. A wonderful hotel that makes use of an old forest lodge with a lovely enclosed courtyard and Italian gardens. Great breakfast! The rooms and bathrooms are perfectly comfortable and equipped. Decor maybe a little tired.
Disappointing as the hotel does not quite live up to the expectations created on the website.
loved the restaurant
Nothing exept nice building and garden. very uncomfortale beds, very small tv set with only Italian programs, very inconvinient bath room, tinnny shower, no place to hang towels, no hair drier. Much over priced hotel. only the brakfast was ok
Good looking hotel with nice swimming-pool. Large berdooms. Very close to Temples. Poor Restaurant and breakfast against expected level. Old bathroom equipment and very small shower cabin.
large hotel with extensive grounds and pool. Nice outside dining area. Good reception and bar area. Good car parking. Bathroom poor. Small, old, shower cubicle, blocked drains. Room 410
pool and hotel grounds Bathrooms need up-dating although hotel currently being refurbished. No hairdryer in room. Breakfast could be better. No information about facilities given either on arrival or in room e.g. pool/restaurant opening times, location of beach etc.
Unbelievable price/quality ratio: a 4* at the price of an inexpensive 3* hotel, perhaps because of maintenance work in progress which did not disturb us. Extremely comfortable room (double door) and facilities, esp. swimming pool. Nice breakfast, even with eggs. Not very well maintained. Too many stairs to go to the breakfast room or the swimming pool or indeed to some rooms.
Except one person, the hotel employees never said hello first or even gave a smile. When I checked in, I had to ask someone to clean the room because the cleaning wasn't done properly. The following day, it was clear that cleaning person hadn't spent more than 5mn in the room. The breakfast was in an unpersonal room. The hotel is located close to a motorway. This hotel pretends to be a 4-star hotel but it hasn't the quality, the service and the prestige of it. Being a 4-star hotel is more than having a swimming-pool and removated rooms.
Very nice pool and pool area; clean and renovated rooms; well-situated. Good price/quality. unfriendly service at the reception.
The swimming pool was fantastic. No ironing facilities to use for yourself, they charged you to iron your shirts and this could only take place during the day, not in the evening so if you arrived at 7 pm, you couldn't get your shirt ironed for that night.
Nice hotel, food was great. It was not as near Agrigento as we had hoped for.
The swimming pool
perfect location for viewing together all three major temples in the Valley of Temples, especially at night when the monuments are lit. Lovely country location, quite close (by car on dirt country road to main road) to restaurants and main attractions. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, breakfast on terrace facing monuments in the company no cons for us- of family pets, farm animals and gorgeous peacocks. Owners were very friendly and helpful and even came to our rescue when we missed our way despite the detailed directions sent to us - it was already dark and we had not taken the most traveled route into Agrigento. We still like using maps and relying on our ability of travelers when traveling than using the ever more popular GPS. Though it may need more work and organization perhaps the owners might consider offering the choice - ONLY to their guests - of a pre-ordered one-size- fits -all typical, simple, Sicilian family style meal in the evening. Our room was more like an apartment with a very interesting antique kitchen with a table for computer work and a very private back patio. Unfortunately one wall of the bedroom backed to the goat pen and one night the goats began to bleat and it was quite uncomfortable. Had the pen been further away from the house it would not have been a problem as there was no problem with the roosters of the neighboring properties.
good location in pleasant surroundings rather small room
The location is great, only 3 minutes walking from the central bus station. The staff is very nice and the room is comfortable and clean. The view from the room of the roof tops was charming. The B&B is located in the 3rd floor without an elevator, but we didn't mind.
the silence too meagre breakfast, only one cup of coffee
Spacious and comfortable room. To get to B&B you need to go upstairs on 3d floor (there is no elevator). Don't forget to inform staff about your arrival time!
Super breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly. Near railway station and city centre. 3rd floor with no lift, no prob for us, but worth being aware of
the size of the room... anormous! nothing at all. everything fine.
The B&B was close to a nice area of town, just off the Via Atanea. Staff were friendly and the room was clean and had all facilities you would expect.
The young man who welcomed us was very nice; the room where we slept was huge and very beautiful like the whole house with beautiful colours ( one room = one coulour ); the breakfast was huge and delicious ( pastries, bread, croissants + of course the normal things composing every breakfast : coffee, tea, milk, juice, jam, nutella etc ... ); you can easily park very close to the house without to pay. Piece of advice : call before you arrive, because the young man who welcomes you is not always in the place, and we had to wait and couldn't go inside ... We were afraid he wouldn't come, but finally he arrived and welcomed us very nice. He apologized a lot !!!
