Deceptive pricing
The front desk was really gentle. Also, as there were no Seat Ibiza available, they got me another car from a superior category for no added cost. So it was really great! The only thing that i would change is that they close really early (1 PM)

Avis has franchise network in Palma. Franchises are operating under the name of Avis, but fiscally separate entities/companies. Avis cars and customer service are separate between original Avis (airport) and franchises (city center). So be careful where you rent your car. Office in the Palma city center is franchise, meaning all issues to be solved only there, no car exchange or reservation changes between Palma center office and airport. Working hours of Palma city center office 9-12 in the morning. Pick up to be done between those hours. If you delay, no car for you. Palma central office is very unfriendly and do not stand for the customer. This is literally what they told me, after my flight was delayed: "Even if you called in advance to mention delay, we would not keep your reservation". They just offered to return money, but no car would be arranged. Very pity. Caused a lot of troubles and additional expenses. Although all this nasty situation happened in the city center, office in Palma airport had great customer service, willing to help solve issue. At the end, I've got the car, but will never again rent a car by Avis in Palma.
O booked via a 3rd party for the rental and thinking it was Avis, a big company, it should be easy. We arrived at the pickup area for the shuttle busses according to the directions on the contract, and no Avis bus to be seen. Asked a few drivers and they had not heard of Avis. I called the number provided and it went to a different 3rd party company. I would recommend that this is made clear in the contact that the car did not come from Avis directly and to update the instructions.
One annoying problem: We picked up the car and the gas gauge showed just under 1/4 full. We stopped to get gas and it only took a little. Now knowing that the gas gauge was broken, we stopped rather frequently to fill up in fear that we’d run out of fuel….. very inconvenient. This should have been checked before we be picked up the car.
