The staff was helpful, basically just completed the reservation process.The wait time was too long, 1 hour to be exact. There were not enough agents to assist customers who had reservations. And more importantly, there was not an apology or explanation for the reason. People are eager to forgive if given the opportunity but only more upset if not.

The instructions for drop at different location were not clear and had to call main number to have me walked through them. E.g. me rental was to 6:00 but learned that the office was closed. Difficulty understanding the person explaining the procedure was a challenge. All in all not seamless.

Car was clean, and ran greatI reserved a Standard, at pick up they tried to give me an economy. Luckily I had the paper that said what kind of car I rented. With some hesitation they gave me a free upgrade, but then tried to sell me allot of coverages I did not need. I turned them all down, but clerk was not happy.

Although the staff is friendly, I felt like they rushed me and try to upsell me at every turn. It was annoying.The windshield wipers we're old and in need of replacement. There were four used Tim Hortons coffee cups in the backseat which were obviously missed by the cleaning staff. That Andy filed on additional charges made for a bit of a frustrating car rental experience.

The reception desk people at the Calgary airport were not very customer service minded. No smiles, no nice greeting, substandard customer service. I was told I had to wait half hour for my car despite the fact my reservation was confirmed weeks ahead of my arrival date. Car was not properly cleaned.

Midsize booked was a Chevy cruise hatchback. One suitcase in the trunk one in the back seat. Was advertised as Chrysler 200. Midsized should never be a hatchback. Of course they wanted the upgrade for the size booked.

Misleading salesperson and quoteQuick drop off.Our rental quote didn't include any of the airport fees, which add up quickly. The front desk lady that we had did not explain things like the gas option well and was actually misleading by saying there weren't any gas stations around the airport so we should take this option for our Calgary to Canmore trip. She said the gas was charged at 92c/litre but didn't mention that we pay for a full fill regardless of what we use. In the end, our quote of $110 turned into $220 which I just would've liked to know upfront.

UnsatisfiedI didn't get the vehicle I expected. The vehicle I got had a lot less storage and the had the vehicle I expected available. I was only notified the morning of pick up, and was asked to look for another company for my rental. The vehicle I received had the same amount of seating but a lot less luggage room than the vehicle I ordered. My guests had sit sit with luggage on the laps. The agent I felt with when returning the vehicle was extremely rude and argued with me about getting a receipt for returning the vehicle because it had not been entered in their system. I asked for a hand written receipt and she started shouting at me.

Great price watch out for feesCar was $200 for a week. And they gave us a slight upgrade with gps.When I went to pay i was charged for roadside assistance and insurance which I was not asked to purchase which doubled the cost of the rental. I had to work with their management to take the charges off. Had I not had the time I would have had to call and fight on the phone. Be aware of those before leaving with car.

Drop off staff was friendly and made the process easy.Europcar doesn’t accept insurance from USA/int’l policies, although they are valid in Canada. They cited difficulty recouping claims from int’l insurance companies. I had to purchase their insurance for $12-13/day, which increased my rental cost by 25%. This policy was not stated until I arrived.

Far from airport and didn’t have my vehicleThe price. Reserved a mini van and ended up with a Dodge Ram 4 x 4. Worked out well only because the weather was dry - all our luggage went in the bed and there was no cover. Had it been wet and sloppy roads, it would have been a disaster.Was 15 min drive from airport. By the time you wait for the shuttle it’s half hour one way. I reserved months in advance a mini van and when I got there there were none available - some “broke down”. Ya right. This happens all the time with car rentals. I’m sure they over book in order to sell out to capacity. Not sure it was worth the savings.

Very nice, clean, comfortable, feature-packed vehicle. Handled well in the winter snow and ice. Didn't get the car I ordered, but they upgraded me at the same price.The battery was spotty and I needed to jump start it quite frequently in the cold weather.

Lest expensive suvPrice, very nice staffDid not open until 730 so when I showed up at 715 to return the car expecting the shuttle to airport it wasn't available and I almost missed my flight waiting on taxi. Even though they are listed as Calgary airport they are a 15 minute ride from the passenger side. They also had trouble accepting my American car insurance even after directly talking to Progressive. I had previously confirmed I was covered by my policy. They just couldn't agree on the paperwork of it. Sounded like the progressive customer service was uninformed but still took an extra 30 minutes at pick up. Not really a negative but not what I expected.

The actual car was niceThe car reaked of the guys cologne, it was also dirty when he gave it to us. The guy was not very friendly and when he dropped us off back at the airport, I had asked him if he could drop us near the taxi section and he dropped us off in a dead zone of the airport really far from the taxis with all our luggage and skis...

Great staffI was very hesitant to book with Ace after reading the reviews but they were half the price of other rental cars so I figured I’d try it. I was pleasantly surprised. I had to wait a bit to get my car when I arrived in Vancouver but when I did it was a brand new Jeep which was a free upgrade from what I reserved. I had no problems on the drive from Vancouver to Calgary (and all the sightseeing trips in between). When I dropped off the car the staff even gave us a ride to the hotel, saving us cab or Uber fare. Thanks!!

Ace stayed open late for us as we waited to receive our luggage. They didn't give us any grief and were very patient even though they had to stay open about and hour after they were supposed to close. The rest of the rental process was smooth.The rental car location is a bit out of the way from the airport and somewhat difficult to find.
