Pros: The car and pick up and drop off were fine---eventually. But the frustrations came when trying to get Enterprise on the phone to talk to a live person about a serious problem.Cons: 2 months in advance, we chose the wrong pick-up date in Quebec. We couldn't correct it online or by phone and on arrival had to taxi to the office to try to fix it. Jonte Jyne was very helpful. But Enterprise's voice-mail system is the WORST!
5.2 Okay13 Jul 2019
Cons: The reservation was made for a pick up at a closed location. Spent a few hours on the phone with Enterprise and had to get to a new location and then wait a few hours for a car.

Pros: Staff was great at pick up. Drop off was chaotic in hotel lobby.Cons: Not crazy about Sonata. Would have preferred Camry or ???
7.6 Good24 Jun 2019
Pros: helpful staff. they spoke English which helpedCons: the reserved location did not have cars so I had to take a taxi to another location the contract was in French!! no option for English, evidently the drop off charges were exorbitant!

Pros: The drop off was super easy, and our check-in fella was courteous and helpful with directions.Cons: Telling us the car had a quarter tank when it had barely an 1/8 when we got underway was annoying. Shouldn't all cars be rented full and returned full? That expectation just makes it easier to be accurate on both ends. We left it with a third of a tank, alas.

Ten days vacation in CanadaPros: Excellent friendly service both when picking up and dropping off. Good car too.
Pros: Because of Covid-19 restrictions, they picked me up at home

Pros: Pleasant employees and gave us a great car. So quick and easy at Quebec City Airport.Cons: Although I booked on a Canadian website, and went to a Canadian place the booking ended up being in American dollars which made it not really a deal.

Cons: Charged 50 percent more at the airport
8.0 Excellent18 Sep 2019
Pros: The car was perfect. We did not expect so much comfort and a quality car like that.Cons: The staff was bad. I mean, she was really bad. She did not want to help up at all and the answers came with a bad mood and even putting some kind of terror since we chose not to take insurance. Also, I'm worried about the $210 that was temporaly charged in my credit card and it was not cancelled yet

Pros: Everything was great, friendly staff, great car. and zero issues.Cons: Drop off procedure was not clear. To be fair its airport set up and not Hert's policy. After hours drop off was not clear, but we figure it out.

Cons: We could have been told extra features we didn't see we had such as the GPS which we didn't recognize for three days.

Pros: Staff and car were great. Easy pick up and drop off.Cons: I don’t like paying a small amount online and then getting hit for $150 at the check out counter. Hidden fees never appreciated.

Pros: Good price. Contract ready upon arrival.Cons: Check in could be faster.
ComfortablePros: At first I thought taking a large pickup vehicle would be abit excessive for two. However, with a full tank of fuel already provided and plenty of legroom inside the car it made the 8hr journey to our destination totally worth it. The car also had a great stereo system!Cons: Nothing, although would love to drive a manual next time.

Pros: Everything was perfect.Cons: The price was too high. Said that, Alamo was among the only few companies offering the service of dropping the car in Montreal, so good job.
6.0 Good8 Sep 2016
Pros: The car was clean and roomy.Cons: The car I reserved and expected to drive was apparently unavailable and a Kia Soul was the replacement. Your agent assured me that it was an upgrade but I found that it lacked power especially when passing and climbing hills. Rear window visibility could have been better. The radio tone was muddy.
8.0 Excellent12 Oct 2015
Pros: No lines, attentive attendants.Cons: Car pick of was a bit of a point in the direction we should walk, but we found it.
Pros: Well, we reserved 2 vans, but when we came to pick up, they did not have the vans, so they upgraded us to a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex so that worked out well.Cons: Luckily, even though we reserved a van - which is why we went with National, because they showed to have a van. When showed up to pick up, they did not have the van we reserved, so they gave us a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex, so it worked out fine.

Fastest Drop off I've never had.Cons: I'll appreciate to have the opportunity to drop off the car Down town instead of the airport.
Pros: Yes !Cons: One fact and the only disappointment was no indication at any point on the reservation that the rental was “off airport” adding a cab ride and time that was NOT accounted for. Not being from the region the address was NOT obvious to me.
Pros: The car was clean, in very good condition and got decent gas mileage.Cons: It was an over two hour wait in line to get the car because it was a holiday in Canada. They only had one clerk working, who did a great job under the circumstances.

Mostly okPros: Car was ready. Ran fine. Local office was helpful, and allowed early pick-up when requested, despite main Thrifty customer service refusal to do so. Drop off office was equally helpful. No drop charge going from Quebec to Montreal. Best price.Cons: Primary thrifty customer service not helpful. Car was supposed to be full size, was smaller than expected.

Waited forever and not helpfulPros: The car - a Hyundai Elantra - was great. Good mileage and lots of safety features. Clean -but wet - when we got it.Cons: WE had to wait 1 .5 hrs to get the car and we got it only after refusing a SUV and Minivan. Suddenly the car appeared all wet from a wash but in a No Parking zone where I was told to inspect the car. I did not look at the bottom of the front bumper which was later found to have a small tear.

There is much to explore in and around Quebec City, and the surrounding areas are perfect for extensive road trips, during which travelers can discover the various attractions of the city, like the Citadelle or Chateâu Frontenac. Gain the flexibility to create your own travel schedule when exploring French Canada with your own hire car during your stay in the city.
When landing in Jean Lesage Quebec International Airport, head to the administrative building, on whose ground floor there are various onsite agencies offering vehicles for every need. The airport is about 11 miles from the heart of Quebec and travelers can be in the vicinity of the Citadelle and city center in about 40 minutes via the Autoroute 440 E. Note that public transport will take well over an hour to get you to the center, so picking up your car directly upon arrival is a good idea.
Quebec is a beautiful city with many old and new parts -- there are old cobblestone streets and broad highways alike. Maneuvering through the narrower streets can be a challenge at first, so adjust your speed, if necessary. Drivers in Quebec usually adhere to the street regulations, making it a pleasant experience to drive through the city. The average speed is faster than some US cities, which may take some getting used to.
Rush hour usually hits the city between 7 and 9 am and 5 and 8 pm on weekdays and can lead up to delays of one hour. Especially the 73 can get clogged up during peak times in both directions and should be avoided by either taking the side alleys or heading out at another time of day altogether, if possible. Also remember to stay in the right lane, as the left is only for passing other cars, a rule that is mostly adhered to by Canadian drivers.

Unlike in the US, speed limits are posted in kilometers per hour in Canada, so keep the conversions in mind. Within the city limits of Quebec City, 50 km/h (31 mph) is generally permitted, though it is only 30 km/h (18 mph) in some areas. Petrol prices are measured in liters, and the average liter costs around $1.24 CAD ($0.93 USD, which translates to $3.72 per gallon). Familiarize yourself with what kind of petrol your hire car needs and refill the tank accordingly. When venturing out into the Canadian countryside, it is recommended to fill up the tank completely beforehand, as petrol stations can become scarcer the further you drive away from the city.
