Big line up. Computer was down. Only one person was attending and writing all info by hand. Other people were around but not interested in helping customer. I rented a car one-way from Calgary airport with a drop off in Banff. I rented the car at about noon and return the car in Banff approx. 7:00pm. I told them I’d be arriving to Banff after they closed at 6:00pm and I was told to put the keys on the drop box. It took me forever to find the parking and when I did find it. I followed the Avis return signs. Once I made about 2 turns down the parking garage, I came to a sign that said the Avis rental car return was closed and to go back up a level. I did this, I found a place to park and went upstairs and dropped the keys in the drop box. I had the car approx. 7 hours total. Today, 4 days later, I got a call from Avis asking if I still had the rental car that was supposed to be returned on the 12th. I told him all of this and I still have not heard back, I still have a huge charge on my credit card and no receipt. Absolute WORST experience!!!Reviewed 16 Sept 2024

I have heard about the AVIS , the best , but i am really sorry to say if you do not have stock of cars why you take advance booking . I was standing 2 hour for getting the key how ever i requested many time but they newer had listen . I have very bad experience with AVIS , I am a business man twice a month i come from vancouver first time i took your company. but very very bad experience , you should hire the soft spoken and care taken employ for public dealing . regards. Check-in was perfunctory, no welcome, substitute car. Car does not have navigation activated - unacceptable in a new car. Car not particularly clean. 10d into car hire screen says Maintenance required, take car to Dealer. Avis app (I’m a Preferred member) - no way to email them and ask why? Unfortunately I don’t have telephone connection to ask. Had to ask maintenance question via QEEQ (booking agent). On plus side, the Toyota has run without any issues other than the screen message.
