Cons: they rejected the insurance that was offerred by kayak when I reserved the car, instead they have given limited insurance that was 3 times more expensive, I had no choice so I have to purchase the insurance, since I was there to pickup car and can not go back somewhere else, this is taking advantage of customer's situation

Cons: Our original quoted price was $200 but when we went to pick up the vehicle, we were told we had to have complete collision coverage or they wouldn't let us take the vehicle off the lot. That ended up being an extra $27.00/day increasing the cost to $270. Then we were quoted as having to return the car at 3 pm but were told that because that location had decided to close on the day of our return, we would need to take it to a separate location and return it by 1. I spoke with the manager who was complete rude and unprofessional however she said we could return the vehicle by 3 pm as quoted however went at length to lecture me that if I was one minute late returning the vehicle she could check the security cameras with the time stamp I wrote on the return slip and if I tried to lie about it they'd charge me for a four day rental fee. Mind you, all I asked was that I return the car at the time I was quoted at and she treated me like I was a criminal.
When I got the vehicle there was less than half a tank in it and the car was filthy.

NextCar gave us a brand new car
Pros: We got a brand new minivan with only 30 miles on it! And a Japanese car too rather than a typical American rental car!
Cons: Kayak sold an insurance policy (Allianz) which wasn't acceptable to NextCar. This was really really bad of Kayak. It created delays for every person waiting in line to get a car and delayed the rental process by atleast 45 mins. Canceling that policy. Calling my regular insurance policy and adding another policy. It was too problematic.
Cons: I wasn't able to actually rent my reserved car from Enterprise because they have a policy that doesn't appear anywhere in the reservation process that only holders of an in-state driver's license can rent a car using a debit card. Are they not aware that many people who rent cars are doing so in a state they don't live in?
