Terrible Pick-Up Experience
Pros: Drop-off was nearly painless at the end of the rental.
Cons: Driver was late to pick me up, then got lost picking up another client before returning to the site for the car. Once I got to the Enterprise site, I waited more than 40 minutes to get my car. Then, it wasn't the car I reserved or wanted (it was a terrible Jeep Patriot).

Pros: The staff on both ends were great. The 10% percent discount for making three putts on their putting machine was a bonus. I wish I would have said "five in a row for 50% off?"
I have never had a bad experience with Enterprise!
Cons: Someone had smoked in the car prior to us.

Pros: They initially were very kind but it went really sour after that.
Cons: The white male employee was very condescending and had an arrogance I have not encountered before. It was like he was treating his clients like children. Terrible business organisation. Terrible policies. Their computer shuts down at 6pm? Lol, ok sure. Use alamo instead who don't require a thousand dollar deposit.

Nice Staff but No Cars
Pros: Staff was friendly. They handled a difficult situation well given that they were out of cars despite having multiple people with reservations waiting. I complimented the manager on his composure and he mentioned that it was a common occurrence for him to be short on cars.
Cons: Enterprise overbooked and I waited 1.5 hours for a car. I don't intend to rent from Enterprise again, regardless of price.
Pros: The young man at the pickup counter and the older gentleman who took the car back when I finished were both very pleasant and efficient. I was not happy about the rate change.
Cons: I was quoted a rate of $71/day on Kayak. When I got there to pick up the car, they said that was not the rate and it was $85.50./day I had the confirmation #, but not the rate printed. So, I had no choice as cars were in great demand the day I needed it. Then, there were almost $100 of surcharges, fees and other taxes. My total bill was $240, when I was expecting around $140. Did not make me a happy camper.

Thrifty rental location not at PHX
Cons: The car rental counter was not located in the airport terminal. Only after riding the shuttle to the Thrifty counter did I learn the car I rented was inside the city, not at the airport
Why would a company advertise a rental for an airport if it is not at the terminal?
Completely botched up my plans and caused me to be late for a scheduled engagement a couple of hundred miles away.

Pros: Car was clean. Easy pick up with no dragged out inspection.
Cons: I had a reservation with Fox rental. I was running late and the line was long for the car so I walked over the Alamo which had no one in line. I was able to get a car right away and made it to my appointment. It cost $84 more to rent from Alamo as opposed to Fox. I also saw a car on line for two days I could have rented from Avis that was one upgrade for $100 Nice car from Alamo but not worth the price difference

Pros: Izabele, the woman working the front desk, was wonderful. I would give her five stars, because she honestly did the best she could. She had called her manager the night before to get the 2 SUVs she needed (one for me, one for another customer). She called him again as soon as I arrived, to find out where they were. She kept on him, and gave me the updates he gave her (just a few minutes more, not long now, soon, etc). It is ABSOLUTELY NOT HER FAULT that her manager did not have the cars to her location when she needed them, or that he did not give her accurate information. She waived the fuel requirement for the rental as compensation for my four-hour wait.
Cons: The manager did not have the cars at that location when I arrived for my scheduled 8 am pickup. He did not give his counter associate complete information when she called for updates, so from 8 am until nearly NOON, I was told "It should be here soon, just a few more minutes." I could tell she was just as frustrated as I was, especially when the next SUV customer arrived and was told there wasn't one available and may not be one available for quite some time. Apparently there was a tire problem with the car that they wanted to get checked out, which I appreciate, but I would have appreciated it more if he had told Izabele, so she could have let me know, rather than both of us getting annoyed with the manager for taking so long.
As for drop-off, I had to do an after-hours drop-off, and there are two sets of instructions on the window with conflicting information, I followed them to the best of my ability, and I hope everything turned out right.

Cons: The car. Ford Fiesta seats beat my kidneys to a pulp within first 20 minutes of driving:( Also, car was so loud that I could not make necessary phone calls while driving--even with speakerphone and headphones. Lame!!

I will never rent through Thrifty again.
Pros: Nothing . I ended up NOT taking the car or renting from Thrifty at all.
Cons: The customer service wasn't friendly. The car was dirty and smelled bad. The overall outside condition looked worn. The car looked like one you would get from a third-rate used car dealer.
Pros: I was two weeks off with my schedule ( I know...) but Nick found a car for me anyhow. It was not the cleanest but who cares if you are in a bind, right? Very happy and they helped me out tremendously. Super friendly on top of it!!

Cons: The trunk was dirty. It had like a grey ashy material. Maybe cement. I had to put a blanket over it to load my luggage.

Pros: The person assisting at check-in seemed to understand the frustration about the lack of deposit information and accommodated with a discount on the rental charges.
Cons: Information about the fact that Hertz charges a $200 deposit upfront is not evident, maybe not even present on the Kayak site, and is buried on the Hertz Web site. And the personnel at the Hertz office where I picked up the vehicle were unable to print any information about how/when the deposit would be returned. It's not included as part of the rental paperwork. Not having known about the deposit requirement before booking the rental, led to a frustrating, time consuming check-in when picking up the vehicle.

Cons: The fuel tank wasn't full but they marked it as such and they charged $$$ for dropping off at a different location from where I picked it up at and wanted over $200 more if I extended 1 extra day

Took a long time.
Pros: Staff was friendly. Car ran fine.
Cons: When I first arrived to pick up the car I realized I had forgotten my wallet. That was obviously my fault and I had to wait about 25 minutes for someone to bring it to me. It then took almost another 35 minutes before my vehicle was ready even though I was the only customer in the place.
The car I was finally given had only three quarters of a tank of gas.

Cons: People off Camelback and 31st av in Phoenix were rude and outright liars. First they told me they didn't have no more cars my size left because they had got a morning rush but not to worry they would upgrade me. I ended up getting a smaller car than I signed up for with no trunk just a hatchback. Then the guy told me all of their cars had low mileage. This car had 20 something thousand miles. I had the car for 7 days and went to Vegas for the weekend only to get stranded outside of Wickieup thank God I had triple A. The driver side back tire had some kind of leak. I bought it back on a Monday and that's when they didn't want to change it out saying they didn't have any cars for that size. Long story short I managed to get another car that when I got in it had the windows down and yes you guessed it was dirty. I took it anyway because I had to get to work. When I let the windows up it reaked of marijuana smell. I was like how could this get any worse. The bottom line is that the people renting rental cars out of a moving storage rental needs their Avis/Budget license revoked its bad for business.

The wrong location !
Cons: The one labelled as Sky Harbor Airport Avis was not the airport rental location, it was downtown. This was not mentioned when booking. Got on the car rental shuttle (as you would expect to), and taken to the airport Avis, only to be told there was not reservation for me there. I had to either get a taxi to the downtown Avis, or get a new booking, which is what I did, but it was $100 more expensive, due mainly to higher tax rates per the Avis agent. Very misleading by KAYAK !!!

Tricked into rental far from airport -- $40 cab ri
Pros: Nice new Malibu
Cons: The Malibu first had a probelm with the key fob, so one day I could not lock, unlock or start the vehicle. The Avis emergency road service line was able to talk me through how to cope with this.
Later, we had a slow leak in a tire, so we had to drive to an airport 30 minutes away to swap it for another car. Getting in touch with a specific Avis dealer to see if they could handle this was a nightmare. We never did manage to get through the phone system to a human.
I had requested a rental at the PHX airport, and what we found on arrival was that the rental agency was a $40 cab ride away! I felt we had been suckered.

Cons: they charged me for two days instead of one day. I did mention it to them and they said that I was an hour late. I hit traffic. As they were not changing the fee,I would expect them to say they are going to charge a 2nd day so I could technically keep the car. Service overall was disappointing.

Pros: The price was outstanding, 1/3 of the price it would have cost if we had rented at the airport.
Cons: I didn't realize that I was renting from an off-airport location, I only found out when I went to the counter to pick up the car. They wanted to charge me 3 times the amount I had reserved the car for and said it was due to 48% airport taxes. We hired a Lyft to take us on the 20 minute drive to pick up the car. It was an Avis counter at a self-storage facility. They were way under-staffed and it took a while to get the car. The car was extremely dusty to the point where I could barely see out of the windshield but they told me since it is a desert (Phoenix), cars get dirty quickly. They had me do the check on my own but re-did the paperwork when I took it in. The woman was efficient and polite but since she was by herself, didn't have the time to go out and check the car with me. It was nice to be "upgraded" to a hybrid as the gas mileage was excellent. When I went to return the car, there was no parking and the woman who checked me in, wrote her info on my paperwork so I had to take a picture of it in order to have a copy in the event the company tries to say I damaged the car 6 months later. I returned the car in the exact condition I rented it so hopefully that will not happen. I have heard many horror stories and this place seemed a little sketchy so I wanted to make sure I have proof of the condition the vehicle was in when I rented it.

Careful when you see shuttle from sky harbor
Cons: rented in Phoenix 50+times This was the ONLY time the car was not at the airport rent-a-car location accessed from free shutlle!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT?!
Cons: Car was just OK. Seemed like the lowest end model they could find. Plus - ordered intermediate class - this did not seem to fit the bill (we have had dozens of rental cars over the past 5 years as we have lived overseas and rented every time we were back in US for a visit) but there were only about 5 cars left on lot when I rented so choice may have been limited. Just not sure of the value for the money spent.

Great weekly rate... but damage waiver was high
Pros: Cute car (Nissan Juke), new and no queue. The weekly rate of $11/day was excellent.
Cons: The agent seemed uninformed and I had to point out which insurance option was which. The damage waiver was steep; would like it to be the lower rate I remember.

Pros: Super helpful guy when returning the car - forgot my friend had the other key and he gave me a couple options on how we could take care of it and was even willing to wave an additional overage fee if we chose to extend our rental. Fortunately we got the 2nd key back in time to not be charged again.
Cons: The car was given to me dirty. I was on a tight time schedule and the lady told me she would have someone come wipe it down in 5 minutes. 12 minutes later nobody had come and I had to go so we had a dirty car the entire trip. Also sold me on insurance I didn't really need.
