Staff was friendly and helpful. Efficient. No problems in picking up car. Smooth

Cons:

Car had handling problems that made it hard to keep car on road evenly. Also we brought car back with way more gas than we left with and there was no recourse for a refund.

Cons:

When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I was told that they had no vehicles available it would be at least two days before they had any. They blamed it on a glitch in their computer system and that they had had this problem before. It seems to me that’s a pretty massive problem they should work out, because I created a major disruption in my schedule and my plans, and Enterprise did nothing but say “sorry, try somewhere else.”

When I arrived to pick up my rental there were 5 people in front of me all waiting for their rentals. I was told there were no rentals at that time and I would have to wait until the clerk’s supervisor called and told her what to do. She had no idea when I would get my rental. I left there with a Ford Explorer which is a far cry from a Kia compact at about 3:30 pm. I waited 21/2 hrs for that. The clerk was efficient, but the wait and the fact that there was no car waiting was inexcusable as I had a reservation. Why did I reserve a rental at all ?

Pros:

Very friendly and helpful! My problem is with Priceline. They scheduled this at a downtown location, which after I got off the airplane had no way to get to before closing. System shouldn’t have allowed. I selected BDL airport and couldn’t have known what street the car rental places are. Avis worked with me but airport fees made the care over $100 more. I won’t be ordering from Priceline again. I will order from Avis directly. They are great.

The convenience and service I received at the time of pick-up and drop-off. Easy and seamless.

Cons:

I have never rented from Avis before but I have rented a car with other companies prior to this experience. I expected the Avis employee to walk with me to the vehicle and inspect the vehicle prior to me leaving with the vehicle. That did not happen. I was handed the keys and told I was all set. I walked to the car and noticed that it was dirty inside, leftover papers in the trunk and wrappers in the back door. About half way through my 750 mile commute I received a maintenance required notification on the dashboard for the rear seatbelts. I didn’t use the rear seat belts at all during my trip. The notification continued to prompt every time I would start the car. Just didn’t make me feel safe that all services/recalls weren’t serviced prior to letting a customer take the vehicle as a rental, especially with my lengthy trip.
