Top tips for hiring a car at Providence-TFGreen Airport

  • The process for car rental at Providence-T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) after you arrive on your flight is quite easy. After you've claimed your luggage in the baggage claim area you will simply take the escalator along with the moving sidewalk to the Interlink Facility. Once there, you will find customer service counters for all of the rental car companies that operate at the airport as well as all the cars available for rent.
  • There are plenty of transportation options to get you from the airport to the center of Providence, including local bus and train service. While this can be convenient if you are traveling alone or with very little luggage if you are with a large group or have quite a bit of luggage this can be a cumbersome journey. You can also take a taxi to the center of town, but this can become a pricey endeavor, especially if you needed to make multiple taxi trips while you were here. That is what makes car rental at Providence-T.F. Green International Airport such a great combination of convenience and low cost.
  • When you are ready to return your car rental at Providence-T.F. Green International Airport, you will bring it back to the same Interlink Facility where you rented the car. As you approach the airport, look for signs pointing to Post Road and from there you will see ample signage directing you to the car rental return area. When you arrive in the appropriate area for your rental company, lock the car and put the contract and the keys in the provided dropbox for a contactless return.
  • The airport has two time periods that they consider their peak times for travel. These are between the morning hours of 6 am and 8 am and the afternoon hours of 4 pm and 6 pm. During these times you may find extended wait times for Providence-T.F. Green International Airport car rental. That is why it is a great idea to make a reservation in advance to make sure your car is held for you during busy times like these.
  • Book your car hire at Providence-TFGreen Airport at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price

FAQs about hiring a car at Providence-TFGreen Airport

  • What type of documentation will I need to rent a car at this airport?

If you are traveling here from anywhere in the United States, you will need to provide your valid driver's license from your home state to rent your car. The name on the license must be the name of the person renting the car. If you are not traveling here from somewhere in the United States, you will need to present your valid license from your country of origin and your passport.

  • What type of amenities will be available when I'm renting my car?

One of the nice features of having the Interlink Facility right on-site at the airport is that passengers can access all the features of the terminal building before and during their rental car experience. This airport has several restroom facilities, several dining options, a wide array of shopping options, a small library for kids, as well as several meeting rooms.

  • Which rental car companies at the airport are the easiest to use?

If you want to have the quickest and easiest rental car experience, it is recommended to use the largest national brands for your rental. One reason for this is that if you've made a reservation before your arrival, you will often find that the cars are ready and waiting for you with your name on the large information board the rental car company provides. Because of that you can walk straight to your car and be on your way without ever having to wait in line or speak with any staff members.

  • Which car hire companies will pick you up at Providence-TFGreen Airport?

Car hire companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Providence-TFGreen Airport to off-airport locations include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty.

Got the 1st car and the screen didn't work so at 11:30 pm I'm changing cars and then when I went to drop the car off, I was charged for the second time. Still not refunded told I have to send in proof, so I did. I was told when I picked the car off, I paid upfront which I knew I did, so I don't' understand why I was charged again.

I don't think the car was inspected very well prior to me renting it. There was sticky stuff on the inside of the front passenger window that prevented the window from going down in a few instances. All the staff I encountered whether in person or on the phone were very pleasant and efficient. When I needed to call the customer support number, the options were very confusing. I needed to report an issue, but it wasn't an emergency, and there was not an obvious choice, so that was very frustrating. The car also smelled like a smoker. Staff 5/5, experience 3/5.

I will never use kayak, dollar, or car rentals again. I went through kayak as a third-party with a rental. New car charged me almost $500 immediately. Because of the Microsoft IT outage, all my flights were canceled. I tried to call all three companies and no one would help me no customer service no nothing. Consequently I was unable to cancel my rental and have been charged full price for a rental. I did not use. I am so disgusted, disappointed, and feel so misdirected and Deceived. Never again. Lesson learned to go right to the source.

I ordered a compact to mid size car. They wanted to give me an 8 passenger SUV. I told them I would be driving an 88 year old around and that was not acceptable. They gave me a full size car that reaked of marijuana, had burn marks on both front seats and on console, the front driver seat didn’t adjust. But that is all they had so I took it. I had paid in advance for this rental and thus is what I got. Very poor showing for dollar.
