My airline ticket changed last minute (military) and I didn’t have the option to get a refund for my rental car (I cancelled the reservation within 24 hrs). I would have even settled for a partial refund, but the option for such doesn’t exist. The only “customer service” this company has is an automated phone loop that leads to nowhere. DONT USE THIS COMPNY NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!! Absolute rip off!!!

I received a quote and reservation through Kayak for US$280 but upon arrival in Europe, Sixt charged me 280 EUROS, which means a 20% price increase. When paying Sixt informed me that they could not accept my Apple Credit card (which is a Mastercard). They forced me to use an alternative card which resulted in an unfavorable US$/Euro exchange rate (4% more) and an added 3.5% convenience fee. I consider this fraud.

We rented a large luxury SUV. When we got to Amsterdam airport, Sixt gave us a Jaguar Ipace which is not an suv but a crossover. Our luggage did not fit in the back and we had to travel for a month with luggage at our feet and on the middle seat, which made the trip uncomfortable. There was another Much larger SUV, BMW x3 available but they wanted substantially more money. The Jaguar also only went 300 kilometers on a charge, not 400 the the agent said it would. There were not a lot of chargers available on our journey and many were broken. This vehicle made our trip terrible and stressful.

Great car. The lady at the rental counter was friendly and helpful.The wait was very long at pickup. The drop off was strange trying to find parking and could have been easier. But I'm grateful the drop off location was close to where we are staying.

Wrong Car, Wrong Insurance, Big HeadacheWhen I arrived, the car I booked wasn't available. The car they replaced it with was too small for our group, so we were stuck cramped in a tight space and having to shuttle back and forth for our whole trip. I asked for full insurance coverage and only received basic coverage. Now they say there is a small scratch on the bumper and have charged 850 euros to my credit card for the damage. This has been an absolute nightmare.

The pick up agent is slow and unfair. She charged us for 2nd driver without our consent. Also, it took her over one hour to complete the process yet our pick up time started as soon as we talked.The pick up time should be from the time we got the key, not from the time we were at the signing desk.

Quick and efficientCar was what we expected and we were able to get in and out of the Avis counter pretty quickly. At the end, we dropped off the keys in the dropbox, which was convenient. Drop-off is 24/7.

The automobile was great -- Volvo xc60, almost new.The rental pickup and return was terrible. I tried to change the location for the pickup and return, and spent hours on the phone trying to contact the locations themselves, without success. I first called from the U.S. to try to pick up the car in the city of Amsterdam instead of Schipol airport -- I was told this would cost me an additional $900! Attempts to reach the rental locations in Amsterdam to confirm this were impossible - on hold for more than an hour. When I went to Schipol airport to pick up the car, they told me that I could have picked up the car in the city center at no extra charge! Similar situation on the dropoff -- I was unable to reach any location to see if I could drop the car closer to my hotel in Paris. Finally, I left a pair of sunglasses in the car. I spent three days trying to call the bureau to see if they were found, and also emailed the customer service departments in Paris and Amsterdam. No response

You should not charge customers for damage that was not done by them. I was charged 360 Euro for a rim that was already damaged and 18 Euro for gas tank that was 9/10 full. An absolute rip off!!!! Never renting a car from this company again and I will not be recommending this company to anyone either. I want to stay in business you need to be honest, not issue ghost charges to customers. That is not the way to recover your loses for bad a business season last year.

Exceptional customer serviceThe pick up and drop off processes were super fast and friendly. I am not used to driving European cars and they answered a few questions that I felt were...lets say "basic", without making me feel like an idiot. The man at the vehicle return was very nice as well and informed me where the nearest gas station was so that I could fill up and return quickly before my reservation expired and I would have to pay for the gas refill.

Nightmare rental and ruined our Christmas.We picked up the rental and immediately noticed the poor condition of vehicle. I told attendant and they said there was nothing that could be done. When arriving to our hotel and the city areas we noticed it wasn't going into gear properly. The valet attendant at the hotel also mentioned to us that something was wrong. We notified the company immediately and after 4 hours of waiting for a mechanic to show we decided to go get our kids something to eat. When we got back the mechanic had come and took the car with our personal belongings. Car seat, stroller and baby carrier and bag well over $1,000 worth of things. I had to pay over $100 in cab fees and call the police to get my things back from the company. This was all on Christmas Day. No one tried to fix or make this up to us. They did not care at all. I ended up having to spend $700 more in a rental because that's all that was available with another company at short notice on Christmas. I don't understand how people can be so cold hearted and inconsiderate.
