  • Hotel room prices vary depending on many factors but you’ll most likely find the best hotel deals in Chengdu if you stay on a Thursday. The opposite is true for, Tuesday, which is usually the most expensive day.
  • Book more than 90 days before your stay begins to get the best price for your Chengdu accommodation.
  • How long should you stay? KAYAK users usually book their accommodation in Chengdu for 4 days.
  • If you’re arriving by train at the bustling Chengdu Railway Station, settling in will be a lot easier with accommodation nearby. Look for hotels close to 2nd Ring Elevated Rd such as the Holiday Inn Express Chengdu North Railway Station and Chengdu Grand Hotel.
  • To experience the cultural heritage of Chengdu it’s best to stay near Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley. Located in the Qingyang district, the sprawling courtyards date back to the Qing Dynasty of the 17th century. Chengdu Demenrenli Hotel is a 4min walk away and provides 5-star-rated service.
  • If you would like to enjoy a remote getaway far from the crowds, consider staying up on Mount Qingcheng. The soaring mountain overlooks the city and is regarded as one of the birthplaces of Taoism. • Get a taste of one of China’s trendiest neighbourhoods by booking accommodation in Tanga Jie. The streets are lined with hip bars and food stalls that stay open into the early hours of the morning. PROS: I checked out a couple of days early and got a refund for those two days, without even asking for it. Awesome! Dorm beds have a large curtain for privacy, and each has its own set of plug sockets, a little shelf and a lamp. Definitely a great perk.CONS: The pictures show some kind of rooftop area for chilling out on. When I stayed there was a lot of construction going on and there was no roof access, which to be honest was highly disappointing. It was basically just the reception, indoor lounge area (mainly in a 'dining table' setup), and a load of dorm rooms. Really would have like to go on that roof..!
