8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and adequate for my needs, also decent parking onsite. A good location and value for the money. No complaints and I was able to get my room early. Much appreciated.
Cons: I didn't see any fruit like bananas, oranges, apples available for breakfast, unless everybody grabbed them before I got there?
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I loved how modern the rooms were and the staff were very friendly
Cons: Only issue was a lot of dirt/ dog hair on the floor which would stick to our feet and end up on the bed

5.8 Okay
Pros: The building is a lovely site
Cons: Cable ties holding sink plugs, and pillows and bed not comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The entire experience Stunning building and decor
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is very nice, it is just like visiting one of those big castles in Germany or palaces in France, but you get to actually stay in a room with old furniture and it was a very pleasant experience. One must take some time to visit the chappel and the old rooms of the building, such as the library and the conference rooms, they are very nice too!
Cons: The breakfast was not as good as I expected, they have some variety, but the food isn't very good. We had dinner and despite having exacerbating prices, the food tasted really bad, we have ordered both croquettes, the goat cheese is impossible to eat, whereas the truffled one is fine, but not good at all. For the mains, we got a pork belly, the meat and the brocolli were very good, but the rest of the food was really bad. For our baby we ordered a mac'n cheese and, despite being very tasty, with some truffles in it, for an adult that would be amazing, but for a baby it was a bit strong.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room.
Cons: Lacked a quiet lounge bar area to relax; existing bar large bright and noisy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: Gym was full couldn’t get on running machines
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Whatever was needed for my son, who uses a wheelchair all the time, staff were very helpful in bringing to us. Nothing was too much trouble. Housekeepers were exceptional at helping us with anything we needed including removing one of the single beds from the room to allow for a hired profile bed. Also, one of our friends who has severe back problems was able to upgrade for a very reasonable price to a suite in the main house, allowing her a very good sleep overnight.
Cons: In the bathroom, the screw holding the plug chain is very loose in the wash basin. Room 139. Also a badly cracked basin in Room 161.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: They put out a brownie and little bottle of champagne for my birthday, such a lovely touch!
Cons: Could make the outside area by the rooms slightly more visually appealing.
Overview Reviews
In light of the times, this hotel is open only for housing key workers and workers with no alternative abode. Best Western Crewe Arms Hotel in Cheshire is just the ticket for a relaxing getaway - which should come as no surprise when we tell you that it's located adjacent to Crewe Railway station (and is the world's first Railway hotel, built in 1830)! For both business and leisure guests, we go all out to make your stay as comfy-cosy as possible. Our job is made easier by the beautiful red brick building we inhabit, which stands out at the entrance to the town and is held in much affection by the many locals and visitors from further afield. Such is the character of our hotel that Queen Victoria and her family stayed here when she travelled from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays - there's even a tunnel that she used here to avoid walking with the commoners! Hotel restaurant closed on Sunday evenings. The restaurant is also closed for lunch & dinner on bank holidays. Limited cold food is available from the bar. Enjoy your stay!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, good breakfast
Cons: The sink in our bathroom was not working properly and I couldn't flush the water. It took me about 15 minutes in the morning to fix the problem. I could have asked for help but there was no time for that. I could also hear the guests upstairs stomping about. We couldn't get adjacent rooms and we had an elderly guest with us that suffers from alzheimer's disease but we booked the rooms about 2 hours before we were staying and we were told the hotel was full so I suppose there was nothing the hotel staff could have done to help us out with this issue.
1.0 Poor
Pros: not much
Cons: they had a dog staying in the hotel that was barking all night so we didn't get much sleep and then they were outside the hotel at McDonald's kicking off
6.3 Good
Pros: Hotel clean and in a good location.
Cons: Paid £138 for a 2 night stay, but then checked my account and found they’d charged an additional £79 for no reason. Still waiting for the money to be refunded into my account. Apparently it was an admin error by reception staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was all good
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Size of room and bathroom were excellent.
Cons: Room was to hot...18°c min temp was too high. Windows dont open for fresh air. Not enough seating at Breakfast time.
7.0 Good
Pros: I loved the hotel, nothing fancy just what we needed, very clean and the facilities were brilliant. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Cons: The customer service from the staff could have been a lot better, they didn't do anything wrong but the way they spoke to us wasn't what we'd expect I wouldn't have mentioned it but on checking out we handed our key cards over to reception and were asked our room number....nothing else, no 'how was your stay ' or 'safe journey', we found that very rude as we were the only ones in reception and there were 3 members of staff behind and around the reception.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: location was good and bedrooms nice
Cons: Staff attitude was appalling. The Male managers particularly rude and unhelpful.

Pros: Although a little bit dated it is a lovely and very cosy hotel. I felt very comfortable there. I will definitely come back there. Great value for money and free car park.
Cons: The radiator in the bathroom was dirty.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Very little, the mattress on the bed was completely knackered. We both woke up with bad backs and the room smelt of damp, only saving grace was the breakfast and location. In need of a update!
Cons: Dated hotel and need of security cameras outside, waking up to a damaged car the next day and the hotel only having limited cameras was astonishing to say the least, I certainly will not be recommending!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, and fresh. Big kettle, not a small one which is always a good thing. The bathroom clean, and well equipped. The room was warm. The bed was comfy and smelt fresh.

Pros: We were upgraded to a larger room. Generally when we have stayed here before it has always been very busy but due to Covid 19, the place was quieter than usual and this is why we received an upgrade. 6.7 Good
Pros: Peacefull
Cons: Lack of fine detail
7.3 Good
Pros: I have stayed at Hunters Lodge many times over the last 5 years. The Rooms are clean and OK. Evening meals are good pub standard but in my view the Breakfast is the best in UK. The cooked breakfast comes quickly and is always good. Coffee and toast appear quickly etc. It is excellent value for money and I always try to stay at Hunters Lodge if in the Crewe area. I have stayed in quite a few others but now always try Hunters Lodge first.
Cons: I like a bath and some rooms only have a shower.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good food and pleasant staff
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the rooms are clean but basic and suspect better value can be had elsewhere. ok for one night.
Cons: It is a pub/restaurant/function location with some cheaply built rooms around the back. The floors creak and the walls are thin. You get what you pay for.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our night at Hunters Lodge Hotel, the staff were very welcoming even although they had to make sure all the wedding guests arriving were well looked after and we ate our breakfast the next morning with the bride, bridegroom and family.

Cons:
6.8 Good
Pros: Homely with friendly courtious and helpful staff

7.0 Good
Pros: The building and gardens were stunning. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were excellent.
Cons: We had a bit of bad luck with our first room as the shower wouldn't drain and partially flooded the bathroom. So we had to swap rooms on the first night. Reception were very apologetic and we were given a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. Then the bathroom handle came off in the second room we were moved to so it just put a dampener on our stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent Staff were all very good
Cons: Mould in shower tray Flaking paint above shower Table in room damaged

Pros: We had a lovely stay over the new year, the cocktails were lovely so were the staff! The food was just average not bad but I wouldn’t say we were wowed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor
Cons: Hidden extras like meal supplements to pay even though bed, breakfast and evening meal were in the booking
6.0 Good
Pros: The thought of a traditional country hotel.
Cons: The hotel hosts big weddings, which seem to take presidence. We arrived to an empty reception and waited 10 minutes to be greeted. We waited 20 minutes in an empty bar to be served. Both dinner and breakfast had periods without service. The night was disturbed by the wedding revellers antics until 4.30am when the hotel told them to be quiet. The walk to breakfast included a strong smell of vomit in the corridors. It was like staying in a Premier Inn in Nottingham surrounded by groups of stag and hen parties.

Pros: Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. View at the back across fields was lovely.
Cons: If you're visiting Sandbach town, it's a little out of the way and it's not clear as to how to walk with a motorway dividing the town and hotel. Taxi's are a nightmare that you have to book well in advance but that's just Sandbach more then the hotel. Hotel decor is a little run down in the rooms. But communal areas were bright and modern.

Pros: Beautifully elegant and opulent decor. Set in a lovely village location which looked ready to be explored! Pet friendly which we didn’t realise so will definitely be going back with our dog another time. Staff were all very helpful and friendly especially after we arrived so late, they made sure we could order a late night cap and were very accommodating, which was most appreciated after a long drive. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and I had a vegan breakfast with a wonderful version of black pudding!! My partner had eggs Benedict which he said was one of the best he’d ever had!
