The staff were very friendly and helpful and I was especially impressed with Rosie Shanks and her cheerful and friendly manner and attention to customer service . I booked on the internet and was dissappointed to find I had been booked at Dunedin city hotel when I though I had booked into southern cross . ,however staff were very good and facilitated a change without any fuss which I really appreciated and also forwarded on my umbrella later . Internet costs should be made more clear i.e a card on the desk in the room.I didn't realise the costs when i logged on .
Fantastic hotel with great staff and great room !! AAAA+++++
We recently traveled to Austrailia and Mew Zealand and Scenic Hotel was our favorite! Good value ! Greatt location, helpful staff, super nice rooms- clean and cozy bedding! Loved it! Nothing! It was all good!
Close to shops and very central for walking around the city. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely weekend and would stay again. No.
Accesability, rooms were lovely I asked for a room with 1 king size bed, i got a room with 2.
Our room was spacious and clean and ideal for just a place to sleep overnight. The staff were helpful with advice re things to do Our room was obviously ready for refurbishment, decidedly battered and tired
It was close to town. Good food from restaurant. Friendly staff and good view of town Mini bar didn't have a lot of variety and was very pricey.
Really good value for money. Excellent location - very close to Fortune Theatre which was the reason for our trip We booked for dinner at 6.30pm and asked at the time of booking whether there would be any problem, as we were due at theatre for 7.30pm show. Also told waitress when arriving at restaurant at exactly 6.30. However, had to wait 40 minutes for our meals, and then had to rush to eat them in 10 minutes.Nice food - but rush spoiled it.
Comfortable, clean and warm. ood views and very handy to city restaurants and shops etc.
Very close to the main shopping centre.Value for money. Parking for cars was very limited
good service and hospitality.great meals.location great but too many hills.bar service average.
Was beautifully warm, lovely and clean. Will be back to stay again The parking facilities are atrocious (or should I say the lack of parking)
helpfull staff in showing us where to go. They appeared to have a good know how of Dundedin The bath was very slipery and there were no rails to hold on to. Especially getting out of the bath as the floor was lower compared to the bath basis
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Very clean room The walls do not seem to be very soundproof at all. It was the worst of the five hotels we stayed in on our recent trip. We could hear what the people were saying next door to us.
Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. No windows....
The location as I was in for the cricket and the general helpfulnes of the staff
most things and the bar and coffee area was very peaceful and relaxing and cosy in the morning not worth commenting because it was not adverse just things in the room & bathroom need to be upgraded and better air flow in warmer weather
Greatr service from front office, bar and restaurant staff and the Duty Manager Tony was just great- nothing I wanted was a problem at all
Heritage facade on building and walking distance to centre of town. Staff were helpful and well informed. Room was cramped, very warm, no air conditioner and the fan provided did not work. No view at all. Location was great but very disappointed with our room there.
The beds were comfortable, The hotel was reasonably close to the city centre. costlly valet parking, staff unprofessional, room very small, no wardrobe, only a small fan in room, no view, small window opened to fire escape, with exit sign above window. For an advertised four star hotel the reception area was small and uninviting. We paid $144 NZ for the night and represented very poor value compared with all the other hotels we stayed in during three weeks in New...
The staff were efficient and very friendly The rooms were not quite sound proofed. Could hear traffic noise and hallway noise.
Quiet location. Clean & tidy room. Nice restaurant to breakfast in the following morning. Lack of carparking at the actual hotel made it slightly difficult for me to transport my gear to and from hotel, and also left me slightly worried about leaving my car parked on side street in unfamiliar area.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and the hotel facilities everything we were looking for.
The staff were very friendly and helpful The hotel itself was quite nice but its location seems to be in the poorer end of town with a long walk to anything that might have been worth seeing in Dunedin?
We came to go to the casino and we liked the location of the hotel and atmosphere at the casino. Just like the Chch casino used to be before all of the changes. No
nice cosy, warm room ,nicely furnished, good size, comfort bed, centraly located, nice and helpful staf.
With the exception of one of your staff, the staff were excellent. I use a wheelchair and because the hotel is not all the amenities arew accessable, the staff were very helpful, especially the doorman. However, a dark haired young woman on reception expected me to breakfast alone and away from other conference delegates because the breakfast venue was not accessable for people in wheelchairs. She made me feel embarrassed, undervalued and definitely not included. The poor access for people in wheelchairs.
shopped, saw a movie, checked a restaurant, went walking, went to the casino no
Friendly staff and casino
Good location right in the centre of town. Poor service by reception staff. Casino attached to hotel.
Staff attitude towards their guests The lack of ability to use the stairs when going up to upper floorsLeft a feedback form in the bedroom
Very good quality of room, hotel, and service including parking service. Nothing
Great room and bathroom (exec double). Good city center location The building was a bit shabby on the outside and the public spaces - the room itself was great
That this hotel was central city so was in walking distance to the centre, restaurants and bars. The supermarket was also a short distance away. The picture was deceptive in the sense that it was not the part of the main building.
The location is perfect for the city center walk. The lift is old but it works.
The hotel was centrally located with good parking facilities. Our room was quite spacious with a sofa and adequate king size bed and a firm mattress, which is important for me since I have had back problems and need to sleep on a firm mattress. The hotel itself was quite dated and could have used an upgrade on decor, carpeting, etc. It is a trade-off of price for value.
the location of the motel to most city facilities. The security of the motel and being able to leave the window open during the night. no complaints at all
i really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the great staff
The staff are wonderful, helpful and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. We liked everything but it is a four star hotel not a five star facility.
Great service, location and friendly staff. Everything you could want in the heart of Dunedin.
It was such a comfortable stay in a beautiful location. It was lovely and quiet, but with close access to nice cafes and an awesome beach My only disapointment was that I believed that the room we had booked had a balcony, which it did not ?. Part of our enjoyment would have been to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy an evening drink and/or breakfast te following day, especially as the weather was so beautiful.
