Overview

Along historic Route 66 in western New Mexico, the Best Western Grants Inn sits on East Santa Fe Avenue in Grants, New Mexico, an old mining town with one foot on the Mother Road. The landscape nearby turns dramatic fast. El Malpais National Monument spreads a vast field of black lava flows, cinder cones, and lava-tube caves just south of town, while the New Mexico Mining Museum downtown tells the story of the uranium boom that once built Grants. With Route 66 marking its centennial in 2026, the old highway draws travelers chasing its murals, neon, and roadside history through town and across all eight Route 66 states. A full complimentary breakfast opens each morning, and an indoor pool, a spa-style hot tub, and a fitness center wait at day's end. Free Wi-Fi and generous parking for cars or larger vehicles keep things simple. Lava country and the Mother Road meet at Grants, a fitting pause on a Southwest journey.
