As usual, Alamo did not have a car of the size that I had reserved at the time that I arrived. And, as usual, they offered me a free upgrade. The first offer was for a sports car, which I turned down (though it would have been fun), as I needed a vehicle that could transport 5 people plus luggage, so had reserved an SUV. So they upgraded me to a larger, nicer SUV! I've used Alamo for something like 5 or 6 trips in a row and been happy every time.

Local great, national not greatThe local agents were helpful, responded to issues and managed resolution at their level. Thank you. Rely on your local agents for everything and give them more funding. The corporate level is not helpful.Your national level "1-800" customer service needs improvement. You failed to give me an accurate local agency phone number. You tried to bill me extra costs for a pre-paid rental, due to change in my flight itinerary that resulted in me using the car for less time than what I paid for. Retarded. Your policy driven response to everything is not customer friendly. Simply refer all customers DIRECTLY to the local agent they'll be dealing with and all will work out well. But your corporate level customer service made me not want to use Alamo again. Fortunately for you, your local agents redeemed Alamo name.

Easy pick up and drop off. Size of vehicle was good. The dollar amount for the rental initially was ok (reserved on-line thru Kayak.) However, when I went to pick up the vehicle at Alamo, the overall price was lower by about $130. Nice surprise. (Not certain why ordering online would be more expensive though).

Poor experienceNoneI needed to cancel my rental car and was charged $10 to do so. In addition, the individuals I talked with were very rude and were going to charge $10/gallon to fill the car up. I have never experienced such a high price for the company to fill the car up with gasoline. I will remember this experience and likely will not return.

Refused Reservation - Stranded in GreenvilleNothingThey called me while my flight was landing and left a message saying my reservation wasn't going to be honored. I ended up stranded in Greenville until I found a taxi willing to drive me the 80 miles home.

We were promised a vehicle that I reserved a few months ahead of time as I knew about the shortage of rental vehicles When we arrived after our flight arrived, there were no more vehicles for us to rent, nor was there anything a supervisor could do despite having multiple cars from corporate on the lot. (The young man at the desk said that they were no longer associated with corporate). He called the supervisor only after I repeatedly asked him to do so, and even then, there was nothing they could do, leaving us stranded at the airport unable to get to our final destination that night. They wouldn't comp us for our hotel stay and Uber to get to the hotel, which was booked THAT night (as our Airbnb was about 90 minutes away and we had NO vehicle to get there). Awful experience, awful company. Never again will we book with Hertz. Unprofessional and inexcusable.

Didn’t end up renting from them because they wouldn’t accept my debit card. I was a local renter and didn’t have return flight info (obviously) so they wouldn’t rent to me. The agent behind the counter was also pretty rude.

I changed my arrival time to a small airport from noon to midnight and the office remained open until my flight arrived and I picked up my baggage. I think it was last flight of the evening for the airport and the desk stayed open beyond normal closing time.I thought upcharge for second driver was somewhat steep.

Everything was quick and smooth. The vehicle was what I expected.If you aren't flying in, you do have to park overnight in airport parking (which costs money). The process is easy though, and there is a shuttle.

The car was excellent, but the pick-up desk was sorely understaffed. One person was working (and doing their best and was very kind) but the wait in line was an hour and a half long and was frusturating in how long all of us had to wait.

Do not rent from Thrifty in GSP. The entire pick up experience was a 2+ hour nightmare. No signs, no nothing at airport to alert you that it requires a shuttle ride to off airport location wait 30 for shuttle. Drooped at tiny one room building packed with customers with reservations and only one worker assisting customers. They had many more reservations than cars available. The computers were slow, or nonresponsive or down. Never got straight story. Again, they ran out of vehicles so any specific vehicle selected was not available. Never again.

Budget has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had renting a car. I had a one-way rental and returned the car 12 hours early the night before it was due. The airport location had a drop off area for after hours drop off. The hold stayed on my account for another week. I never received any communications from Budget. After the hold was lifted I still didn't get a charge but I was going to wait 7-10 business days as the Budget website instructed me to. The other day a charge that was $1,100 MORE than my rental agreement was pending on my credit card. I contacted Budget and was told that the were charging me for keeping the car for 11 EXTRA DAYS!!! No contact was ever made when the car, according to their system, was not returned by the agreement due date. To make matters even worse, when the charge finally went through my credit card, it was over $1,800 MORE THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN! Absolutely horrible! I finally got Budget to agree to refund me the amount that was charged above my original agreement within the next 5 business days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUDGET AT ALL AND WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN!!!

There was no in lot attendant to return the vehicle to. I had to wait in line to return my vehicle. That doesn’t make sense given that flights leave regardless of whether or not you’ve finished returning your rental car

I was happy with the price. Pickup was fast; the clerk was friendly and efficient. Drop off was fast, too; I had a very early flight so just parked and put the form and key in the drop box.

The car was absolutely disgusting inside I wish I could upload the pictures and show. I let the staff member know and all she said is that she’ll write down a note. Didn’t take the time to look at the car or anything. Specially with Covid 19 you’d think they sanitize and clean the car right. And I just noticed they have overcharged my card by $90. I made sure I cleaned the car out and sanitized and fueled up before I dropped it off.

The staff was as friendly and suggested another spot. However didn’t offer any help beyond that. Tough spot to be in and would expect more.When I arrived they tried to scan my drivers license but the back side of it was worn out so scanner couldn’t read it. I had to go to hertz and pay double.

Pick-up a nightmare!! One person manning desk and he was completely overwhelmed/ill equipped to handle the 8 of us who exited shuttle at same time. Ironically, there was a car convention going on. A complete lack of planning by corporate! And, the pick-up trucks, the cheapest, had just arrived THAT day and the lone employee had to literally remove the plastic, connect antenna, etc, which doubled reservation time. Will never use Dollar again. They are cheap for a reason.See above.

Free upgradeI was glad to get an upgrade to a truck because I really ended up needing it! It also snowed the last day I was in town so it made me feel more secure while driving. The Dodge Ram was incredibly nice inside and out. The staff that rented it to me and received it back were super-friendly and efficient.

StaffingThe service from the staff was wonderful. The shuttle driver was especially helpful, checking us in and getting us to the terminal quickly when we were running late.The office is seriously understaffed. One clerk at the counter was multitasking as well as she could but there could have been more staff to make everything run more smoothly.

Customer service was excellent! The price was excellent! Everyone was really friendly and the process of renting a car/dropping off was easy!The car was only half full when I picked up. The driver's side was not vacuumed. The key fob didn't initially work to lock/unlock the door. These are all things that I'm not picky about. But for constructive criticism, this is what I would share. Overall good!

The representative, told the car returner in my ear shot that they did not need to have the receipt for gas, only a full indication on gas gauge.Manipulative story about having to have a gas receipt with in 2 miles of the rental car office, or suffer additional charges. An awful strategy to force you to purchase the prepaid gas bad deal, or suffer consequences.

Non RentalPrice sounded goodThey had no car available when I showed up to pick up my vehicle. They only had a pick-up, not a full sized car that I had reserved. Their excuse was that other people had arrived before me and all their cars were now gone. When I asked why my reservation was not held in reserve the representative hung up on me...I had to scramble to find a different company to rent a car at 10 at night at the airport to get me, my husband, daughter, and grandchild on with our vacation. No more Dollar Rentals for me and my family.

There was no shuttle when we arrived a Greenville Spartanburg airport. As it turned out they had given our car away and had none left. They did not contact us at all. We were not the only people left stranded at the airport at 11:00pm by Thrifty.

I ordered a passenger vehicle. I will as given a new truck. It was a very nice truck but it was a very big step up to get into the truck. My problem is that I have arthritis in my hips and this becomes painful

The location of the rental location. It's not T the airport. You have to call the courtesy phone in order for someone to come and pick you up but you cannot find the courtesy phone anywhere you have to go and find someone who works at the airport and ask them where to get to thrifty rental once you call thrifty on the courtesy phone you have to go back outside stand in the middle of the road and wait for the shuttle to come pick you up and take you to the thrifty location but it states that the location is at the airport which it is not

I honestly can say there is not anything to mention for this question. It's offsite from the airport so you have to take a shuttle where as other car rentals are onsite. The shuttle was on par with airport shuttle service, nothing extraordinary, although it wasn't clear where to catch the shuttle. However, the advantage of them being offsite is possibly less taxes but I haven't looked close enough at the receipt to say whether that's true or not or compensates for the extra effort (although it's minimal effort).Don't offer me a manager's upgrade when I can see there are no cars in the lot in the class I reserved. Ask me if I would be willing to take the class of vehicle you do have available instead. In other words, don't play the situation like you're doing me a favor when you actually need me to do you a favor. Also don't pitch a truck like it's a good thing when it uses more gas than a car would. When you are on a vacation and sightseeing, a truck isn't good for parking in city spaces. I was asked where I was going so all of this information was known to the agent. If I say I'm willing to wait until my reservation time but you'd rather get me out the door now, don't charge me extra for it. I did accept the extra charge but I would be more likely to give an excellent rating if you didn't try to earn an extra $20 off of me for something I didn't need and told you I didn't need but you tried to sell as money they would probably take back off when I brought it back early anyway. I had no plans to be back early and I said so. What is $20 to a large corporation? It makes me less inclined to rent from Thrifty in the future. Especially, when the quality of the service is not excellent and your competitor is only a few bucks difference. People will pay a few bucks extra when they know excellent service comes with it. The vehicle could have been cleaned before giving it to me to use. When the door was opened and the floor mat was covered in sand, it was taken around to get it cleaned up and they vacuumed the driver's side mat but didn't bother to check the rest of the vehicle so they had two chances to provide their customer with a clean vehicle and didn't. There was spilt coffee or something like it in the middle console, leftover residue of some kind in the cup holders, garbage tucked in places, etc. To boot, this happened as COVID-19 was ramping up and lots of companies were already sending emails about their cleaning procedures and heightened precautions. Not Thrifty. Finally, when I brought the vehicle back and was asked how everything was, I said it was fine, although, the vehicle was not clean. It was the same agent that had assisted me when I picked up the vehicle so he knew and said it can't always be done right (essentially, I wish I could remember his exact words now). That was an amazing statement I thought. So he did give me a 10% discount which is a good customer service thing to do, but only if it saves me money. I was still in the end charged more for the rental then I had reserved it for. So again, don't act like you're doing me a solid when you really aren't.

HybridThe agent gave me three choices and recommended the Ford Focus Hybrid. Good car and great gas mileage. Drove from from Greenville/Spartanburg airport to Black Mountain, NC and locally in BM over the weekend and back to the airport on Sunday. Only used $10 of as. Plus the price for the rental could not be beat.There was a dent in the passenger door and after walking to the car, I had to walk back to the ticket punter to let them know.

Clean, low milage vehicle, very reasonable price,Car was clean, price was good, no problems what so ever. When i returned the car at the terminal, i needed a ride to Stevens Aviation, about a mile away. The people at Enterprise took care of getting me there. Excellent service.

First time-Impressive!The counter personnel at pick up and drop off were very professional and enthusiastic even though they were busy. I could'nt find my car at pick up and one of the counter people stepped out and located it for me. Enterprise earns an A; car earns a DEverything EXCEPT for the car I rented (Nissan Sentra) was to-notch. Excellent service. Quick out, quick in.I had a choice between the Sentra and a Chevy Cruze. I should have taken the Cruze. The Sentra was a very very basic model, hardly any features. Manual seats. Zero pickup. But that's mostly on me and certainly no reflection of Enterprise's exemplary customer service.

StinkyLiked the customer service agents. They were awesome.The car smelled..no REEKED..of cigarettes. Someone didn't charge the $250 fine for smoking in the vehicle I guess. Also the tires had limited tread and the vehicle was all over the highway. What an awful experience.
