10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel very welcome! Helped in getting us to and from the wedding with their local knowledge. Breakfast was delicious and vegetarian sausages were available! Room was lovely and comfortable, would definitely stay again!
Cons: Maybe some fizzy water as well as still? Potentially the security light was a bit bright, not sure if anything can be done about that though? The ironing board was a tiny bit wobbly but I’m being picky because the box needs me to write more to accept it!

Cons: nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: Positives, Nice staff, Great location, Good restaurants nearby. En Suite has a walk in shower, bedroom is comfortable, breakfast included, WiFi available, TV has a good assortment of channels Negatives: En Suite has a folding door which does not restrict those little "bathroom noises".The hot water is pumped and on timer, we wanted a shower a shower late at night but could not get any hot water, in the morning when the pump comes on, whenever there is a demand for hot water the running pump is noisy an woke us up. WiFi is available but is very limited and near to n on existent, certainly cannot stream. One of the nights we stayed was chilly and the heating was not on, my partner whom has health issues was cold and had to wear a fleece in bed. You have to pre oder your breakfast the evening before, in the breakfast room there are no cereals, fruit, drinks etc. We did get the breakfast we requested, although no choice of fruit, yogurt etc. The shower fan was thick with dust and grime, and one of the striplights in the room did not work. The owners are really nice people and very helpful, unfortunately Gretna makes its money through the summer tourism, and I guess the owners have limited resources to invest in the property. My appraisal is not meant to be harsh just saying it how it was
9.2 Excellent

Pros: Charming cottage with pleasant interior decoration. Absolutely immaculate inside and out. Every little detail has been thought of to increase the comfort of the guests. How often do you go to places offering water bottles to warm up the bed if necessary ? As we were there on a cool night, our host had turned on the heat in the bedroom, which shows how attentive to the wishes and needs of their guests the owners are. The place is also very easy to find. Very good breakfast. Highly recommended

Pros: The hotel was beautiful, real olde worlde. Rooms are really lovely, decorated tastefully and very spacious. We had an upgrade to a Deluxe room which was fab. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with separate shower and bath with nice complimentary toiletries. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening meal in the bar area. There was a good selection of food choices and the meal came quickly and was very nice. Average price for bar food I'd say, not overpriced. We are staying at this hotel next year for our wedding and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect hotel!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room , modern and exceptionally clean . I only booked at 4pm due to a broken windscreen and I requested a bath, as opposed to a shower . Nothing was too much trouble , thank you ! Sadly , the TV was not working and after being remote for a week I would have welcomed catching up with the news and watching a little light entertainment . However, this did not impact upon my overall rating .
Cons: Could be more choice for vegetarians on the menu .

Pros: room was just the right size suitable for our needs
Cons: always have a good look at the bedding when i arrive at a hotel found 2 black hairs that stood out on white bedding don't know how the cleaners missed them
5.4 Okay
Cons: More pleasant and friendly staffjust
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location was good and the receptionist was very welcoming .
Cons: The room was in poor condition, not very clean. The en-suite door wouldn’t shut properly and the smell in the en suite was rank, it stunk of stale wee, the kind you get over time, like in a badly run public urinal. The little milk pots you get for your teas and coffee has gone off so we had to get replacements, the comment from the receptionist implied this was not of a surprise to her! The dinner we had was average, my husband did enjoy his Mac & Cheese ( one can hardly go though with Mac n Cheese) but my mushroom risotto was very “wet” almost a soup, I would challenge if risotto rice was actually used, it seemed more like long grain rice which would explain the consistency, the flavour was ok but I really struggled to find any mushrooms. I cannot fault the friendliness of the staff but this alone is not enough to make me recommend anyone staying here. This place is how I would imagine a cheap n nasty motel in the USA would be like.
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful. I do not usually have a cooked breakfast, but I did indulge myself. Everything was freshly cooked and the haggis was brilliant
Cons: The weather, but that wasn't your fault. As it was raining, we could only look out into the grounds, but the looked nice
7.1 Good
Pros: Decent sized rooms and close enough to the motorway without being effected by noise.
Cons: No proper lift and the stair and hall carpets are in need of replacement.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Large and spacious room Good location Comfy beds Large towels.
Cons: Overflowing bins in car park, bedroom had a dirty floor (cigarette filters etc). Tasteless and dry Jack Daniel's bread & butter pudding. Dried out breakfast. Staff barely acknowledged us. Dirty and tatty corridors Really gone downhill since I last stayed 2 years ago
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The reception staff, bar, restaurant staff were professional, experienced and pleasant. The supporting services I.e. Hair and make up professionals were excellent.
Cons: The bathroom was dirty room 209.......I cleaned the bath and the dirt from around the water overflow before I could bathe, my aunt had to do the same in room 211. My daughter's room had a very bad malodour, reported to reception at check in and credit due was immediately given an alternative room. Unable to use wardrobes to hang clothing as bed toppers and bedding stored in wardrobe????? The wedding planner was very unorganised, had to ask for the wedding room to be sorted out I.e. Lighting and curtains. Wedding meal was served 1 hour and 20 minutes late!!

Pros: Lovely Hotel and the Staff were so nice. As soon as you walk in it has such a warm and welcoming feel about it.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Room was gorgeous
Cons: Tried to get food at 17.30 told couldn’t until 18.30 which was fine as there was a wedding on so at 18.30 told it could be another hour before we could get food so we complained manager got back via email to apologise for our inconvenience but it cost £112 a night I ask if we could have a discounted room if we went back said he couldn’t then offered us 15% of food in my opinion not good enough so I won’t be back but if people just check there is no wedding on as I can assure you that you won’t get food.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Stayed there a few times a loved it over the yrs as we got married there.
Cons: Gone down hill since last time, Jane the receptionist always helpful. Booked the 4 poster room for two nights. Run the bath got in the jacuzzi jumped in turned it on and loads of body hair and soap scum came out everywhere, ( phobia) for me
4.2 Okay
Pros: very poor, location OK
Cons: At breakfast Hot drinks should have been served by the hotel staff, guests young, old and infirm had to pour their own drinks and carry them to their table. This is an accident waiting to happen and a health & safety issue. Booked a table at 5pm for an evening meal, was told only 7.15 or 745 was available?, when we arrived in the restaurant the place was empty, another couple entered at 7.30pm, we left restaurant at 9.30 no other guests arrived! I asked for a bottle of wine it was delivered to my table unopened, I opened and poured the wine myself, no staff in restaurant except for delivering meal. Main course that I ordered was not what was delivered to my table. Asked for after our evening meal, Coffee machine not working, it had been broken for several weeks as per staff comment.

Pros: We were travelling with our dog and we're pleasantly surprised to find a lovely, comfy dog bed and bowls for food and water waiting for us in our room. The staff were all very friendly and made a fuss of our dog (which he loved) he even got a sausage for breakfast! Location was great, very close to the motorway which was convenient for us to continue our journey the following day. Breakfast was really nice and the room was cosy and clean. Would definitely stay again if passing through.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Grout in shower area needs redone, but a proper clean would improve the appearance in the meantime. I was able to clean up one of the worst areas simply with water and a reasonable scrub. No orange juice left at breakfast time by 9.00.

Pros: Evening meal and breakfast was great. The restaurant and lounge areas are beautiful. We enjoyed the walk around which is nice.
Cons: Hotel was lovely but we were disappointed with our room as it wasn't the one that showed in the picture. It was clean but old and dated. It's in the middle of refurbishment at the moment.

Pros: Breakfast was nice and the bed was comfy.
Cons: There 3/4 of a bed sheet which didn't cover the mattress and markes in the wall dust in top of the head board and skirting board. It should be spotless at all times as £60 a night is a lot of money.

4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: It stinks. The showers too powerful spraying water and steam everywhere which means the whole place smells damp. The damp smell gets in your clothes and hair. It’s really poor to be honest. The mattress was shot. Days Inn management need to get closer to their product.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money for the rate we paid. The motorway location was super convenient for our trip. Very quiet and restful nights sleep (and I'm a very light sleeper). Good sized room, with very comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower and other room facilities. We were really happy we decided to rest here for the night!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Absence of good breakfast facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: At first when we realised it was in a Motorway Services area, we were thinking it was a bit strange but it ended up being so handy! Perfect for what we were travelling for (a wedding 7 miles away). Within less than a minute walk we had everything we needed, WHS Smith, Petrol Station, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks, etc. The staff were lovely and accommodating, giving us a list of the taxi's in the area and also an iron and ironing board when we asked.
Cons: Can't think of anything, lovely little hotel
7.9 Good
