the facilities in the hotel none
The availability of the restaraunt and bar within the hotel as well as the location (off the beaten track, but close to major roadways). The swimming pool was open at hours that made it inaccessible for me. Also, having two smaller beds pushed together to make one big bed was a little uncomfortable.
nice quiet room, very nice view to park/castle, highway imperceptibly, great indoor sport facilities for free, bike rental, very friendly staff, mainly elderly Dutch visitors. no bathrobes, no minibar
Nice-clean hotel, lovely grounds, a bit far from the train station, but we'll go back again
The Staff were very helpful There was somebody’s long black hair in both the sink and bath
The breakfast was excellent and the dining staff extremely helpful no mini bar!
The breakfast was good, room was spacious, all in all the hotel was very comfortable. The hotel was located a bit in the middle of nowhere.
Pet friendly rooms Lots of stairs
The breakfast was very poor
location Food could have been better
A perfect hotel for a romantic weekend
the staff were welcoming, food was fantastic and the location superb
Restaurant is also good on tast and service, but not expensive. Nothing
A friendly relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff.
The grounds where beautiful, great breakfast, great wireless internet, expensive dinner. This hotel is more about the outside than inside, but nice none the less. Not for young children; The reception guy told us we should have stayed at another hotel when we asked about a roll away bed..nice
If you look for a real nice place to stay for business or romance this is the place you should go.The room was great with lot of space and view on nature. The staff was nice and food excellent.
Everything. Service, setting, food - all without fault. Air conditioning in the bedroom would have been nice.
Exceptional experience, beautiful facility and grounds. An ambiance that cannot be found elsewhere. A GPS is helpful is locating the grounds off of the main thoroughfare.
The Hotel is in a beautiful location, has a relaxing atmosphere and excellent food and service. There was also the opportunity to go for a cycle ride in the delightful countryside.
Located in the heart of Heerlen within easy walking distance of the main square and cafe areas, this hotel makes an excellent first impression with its elegant lobby and lay-out for this price-range. After such a good first impression, the room was a bit of a let-down. It's an old building, and I expect they have converted larger rooms into several smaller ones. The TV was housed on a wall-bracket, with the plug and aerial cables fed through a make-shift conduit. The breakfast was a pricey 10 Euro for the usual ham, cheese, bread and so on, and was served in the pub next door.
the location of the hotel to things like rail links and restaurants on arrival at the hotel we had not been told we had to check in at a different hotel, which was a fair walk away, with luggage, then back again! and a nightclub open until very early hours under the hotel is not good for a restfull night, if you need to sleep for business, then dont stay here, if you have no need for sleep then this is a good place!
A lot of noise from the square in front of the hotel, also due to the pub nextdoor. The receptionist did not wake me up at 06.30 hours. Breakfast should have been served at 07.00 hours in the pub nextdoor, but is was not open at that moment. At 7.15 hours the pub was open but the was no bread available and the scrabled eggs had a perculiar taste.
The bathroom was black and white with a huge mirror all renovated liked the style very much
Positiv: central situation. Very negativ: absolutely not clean! See above.
Cheap hotel, good location Had to check in at Best Western hotel which was a good five minute walk away and not easy at 10:30pm with loads of luggage
Nice building No reception in the evening
Fact that it is right in the middel of downtown. Parking garage just around the corner. The fan in the bathroom makes a lot of noise and can not be switch off at will as it is automatically linked to the light switch and a timer.
location was ideal. The room was a bit too small, the tv didn't have a clear signal, the light level was poor and the wall light was coming off the wall.
that it was very cheap but still it was clean my tv did not work
Really nothing Very applicable!!A misearable room,no services, old and weary towels,no tissues paper,no room service.Maybe can be considered as two star hotel!!!!
Location excellent None
swimming pool over priced for the quality of the room
the room we were upgraded to was excellent, the receptionist who delt with our complaint about the original room was excellent. the room we were given to begin with was way below standard and if we had had to stay in that room and not have the option of upgrading it would have turned a very good stay into a very bad one
convenient location and excellent breakfast. Room was comfortable. Carpets in corridors were not clean, room was a bit dusty. Ridiculous price for internet connection. The whole place apart from restaurant needs tidying up, and perhaps re-design.
the spa and the swiming pool room to small, no internet conection, a bit rundown
The reception staff is helpful. There is no refrigerator and smoking smell in non-smoking room.
Swimming pool/spa While in a non-smoking room, the corridor we had to use to get to our room stunk of cigerette/cigar smoke.
This hotel was awesome. My family and I stayed in a family room that was pefect. It was close to downtown, the shopping, and the Christmas Markets. The staff is very friendly and most speak multiple languages. Breakfast Buffett was also good and worth the 12.5 pp. The restaraunt is very pricey.....plan to eat diner else where if you are looking for value.
Swimmingpool is very nice.Breakfest was excellent. Familyrooms for stay with children. Why did you not mention that slippers and bathrobe are obligatory and that you have to pay 12 € to rent it.Idem parking 5€ per night
Love going to breakfast in a robe and not putting on real clothes the entire stay! Liked being able to use spa, robe and towel even after check out.
It was very busy and could have used more staff on duty, some staff in the restaurant areas could be a bit friendlier, although others were very good. would be nice to also have hot water pool on the 'sauna' side
it is a wellness hotel which means you relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings, warm water and spa treatments
February is a quiet month in which you can enjoy all the water and heat in a very comfortable way. Themae 2000 is build on a beautiful spot, it supplies views and it is surrounded with some impressive big trees. The building is a great design and the sauna's are among the best in the lowlands! The system with a keycard for the door and a paper card with your roomnumber for the restaurant does not work. You have to take both into the spa. Apparently the staff is working on this problem. I hope they will develop or purchase a system with a wristband or a pin that opens your door and can be used in the restaurants and does not show your roomnumber. I don't get it why you have to get dressed when you want to be into the swimmingpool area.
Relaxing in the SPA, enjoying healthy food and visiting the village. Carpet on the floor. The room was clean but the terrace was dirty. Staff not always responding to the client's needs. Old fashion rooms and bed not really confortable.
A very comfortable hotel with a fantastic breakfast
Wonderful facilities, efficient staff and good food. We have been going to Thermae 2000 for 5 years and it has never disappointed. Much better than equivalent British spas.
clean, calm and relaxed nature of the hotel and facilities. Not being able to make a tea or coffee in the rooms.
Everything was wonderful, we enjoyed hanging out in our pool-bath robes. It was a very relaxing get-a-away. Staff was great. We will return
The Spa and hotel facilities all under one roof
Everything. Will recommend
We arrived at 0020 hours, and could not get a cold beer, there was only one beer in the minibar
Great staff!! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome. My only negative was the room was very dark. It may have been due to the use of low energy bulbs ... ?
Friendly staff and proximity to where my son lives. Excellent breakfast, but pricey. We asked for a double bed. They only had twins.
Hotel staff were nice and accomodating, there was no problem changing to a smoking room when given a non smoking room. We liked the fact that we could choose whether or not we wanted breakfast. Dinner was really nice - loved the citrusy dressing on the salad. Easy access to freeway and even though situated next to it - you cant hear it.. Walking distance to kfc so that was a bonus. Roadworks in the area - but wasnt too much of a hassel
the flexibility and the commitement of the Staff in supporting the clients
All staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english
When I arrived they had the bill prepared. They included two breakfasts onto the bill which I did not ask for. I gave them another card to pay for the room and they never cancelled the first charge. I had to tell the woman to remove the charge so I would not be billed twice. Not good customer service.
the food was good the staf was very nice breakfast is expensive
We were very satiisfied with the hotel, small and friendly and not expensive. Rooms are quite dark due to the small windows.
Hotel's close proximity to Valkenburg rail station and city Centrum and free vehicle parking in a private lot at the hotel. Bathroom was clean. Most staff was friendly and helpful. Room and hallways in our wing of the hotel had a decidedly musty smell. Hotel should add some security to its one guest-accessible internet computer; a user (probably a guest's kid) apparently had been able to switch the default wallpaper to an inappropriate and offensive image.
Management and staff very helpful with particular praise towards bar staff for their good humour and making a party atnosphere
The very friendly and helpful staff, all of them, you should be congratulated on your staff training! The breakfast was OK but having to walk all the way to the buffet and back to your table was a bit much. Could the breakfast bar not be in the middle of the vast room? The dreadful music, a bit thighclapping and hopsa heisa.
The addition of evening entertainment was a bonus
when I came from out side at 4 pm the room door was opened and the towels not change the bath romm was not cleaan.
Information on train service, local site seeing / walk tour map, etc. Should allow guest to use atleast two hours after check-in time, if required.
Quiet environmen, but close to transport. Yes, lack of internet. Only one computer terminal available for the whole hotel. Wireless network would be ideal,
Convenient in terms of transport and the counter service is good. The bartender is entertaining. Poor facilities such as no curtain in the bathroom - the floor is wet after bath; no internet connection, no water boiler in the room; I would rather to pay more to have these basic facilities.
Good location, close to train station. Decent breakfast. As expected for what we paid. Room door lock was not secure. The lobby was full of cigarette smoke. No front desk staff at 7:15am when we wanted to check out.
The bedroom, the hotel staff and the location of the hotel, which was perfect because it was only a 10 minutes' walk to the train station and it is just 20 minutes from Maastricht. The restaurant. You are not able to order your dinner a la carte. Only a 3 meal-menu.
First I was given the key to an already occupied room. Then I was given a room on the first floor - very loud, and not secure (windows open onto the flat roof, accessible to other guests.)
The hotel staff, which was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in this hotel for the second time. The first time I had a room in the new part of the hotel. This time I had a room in the old part. The rooms in the old part are very small and not so comfortable as the new ones.
The araff were nice Very old, need to make renovating in the breakfast and dining room
Very effective heating ! Friendly and helpful staff Bed linen was clean, but a little discoloured
You get buffet breakfast and its only 10 min walk to the nearest train station The service wasn't good. I had no t.v in the room, had to ask 4 times! and it took 2 days!
The braekfast was good. The room was bright, clean, and roomy. The bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of hot water. The hotel is real close to the train station. I would stay there again. Not much I didn't like.
The new building is pleasant, nice rooms and bathrooms. In the older part of hotel the rooms are not so charming. Good selection for breakfast.
friendlystaff location clean and tidy room good chioce of breakfast no
spa facilities and the luxurious feeling of the room (we got an upgrade to a suite appartment) two barking dogs in the room next to us
The apartments were well appointed, restaurant excellent, and the grounds beautiful. A bit of an effort to get to without a car, although the shuttle service to Maastricht station was very welcome. Staff very helpful and attentive. Also very interesting with St Gerlach's chapel and museum on the grounds. Stairs in the apartment were quite steep, if you are at all incapacitated ask for a ground floor room.
excellent renovation and architecture, very nice surroundings the hotel could use a full time concierge. the information given by the receptionists was not accurate, and kind of ruined our night (wanted to go to valkenburg christmas opening and told us that it was not open. Stayed in the hotel and missed the opening of the Christmas fair and the fireworks)
Your booking.com reservation did not come through: there was none! What happened with the reservation?
The junior suite was a private as your own appartment Nothing
Nice environment Nice dining room Good food Room is not confortable Old fashioned Too dark
Large junior apartment suite was well furnished, including well equipped kitchenette. Grounds were nicely done and provided a very peaceful setting. "King bed" was really 2 twin beds stuck together.
great staff, always willing to help with even the most ridiculous requests...bistro dinner and buffet breakfasts were great
gardens, buildings, rooms, restaurants, staff, setting in the countryside, all excellent. no
The grounds and the facilities were beautiful. I would have liked the breakfast to be included in the price of the room.
Mountainbiking The restaurant
Beautiful setting and lovely rooms. Lovely decor and surrounding courtyard just fabulous Expensive Although quality of food is very high €20 for breakfast is extremely expensive
The rooms were good and staff friendly.
verry nice hotel with exellent service. Price for breackfast is expencive.
Space in room The type of food served in the restaurant
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very tastefully furnished. It is an ideal location for a citytrip. I received a letter before hand about a party in the hotel with music but we could hardly hear it as they had given us rooms on the other side and it finished before time. The letter was a nice attention however.
very quiet, comfortable rooms, good restaurant, friendly staff.
Very nice and cosy hotel. Breakfast was not included and was a bit pricey.
Do nothing...great! at a lovely roon to stay in all day!! And had a romantic dinner there.
Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge, breakfast room and bar area were beautifully decorated, and it was lovely to have a space where one could sit and relax. Smoking is still allowed in public areas in the Netherlands, and as non-smokers we found this a problem- unfortunately the smell from the bar travelled all the way up to the room (on the top floor).
We picked this hotel because we wanted to be near the town centre for the christmas markets, the hotel was perfect and we would stay there again.
Very Convenient, good off road parking, good value breakfast
Myself and my fiancee love the hotel due to the locality of the slope. We travel over from Norwich UK to use the facility and would relish such a large facility in the UK.
room is very modern, beds are good and offering in hotel is good (fitness, skiing, wellness) The breakfast buffet was not great, coffee really not nice and scrambled eggs horrible.
For a 4 star hotel the hotelservice is too basic
The staff and the hotel itself are great! Everything is so relaxed and enjoyable. The fitness center is fantastic! The internet is expensive for the quality provided, and the rooms should come with a refrigerator.
The hotel is, as the name would suggest adjacent to the worlds longest indoor ski run. The staff i encountered were all etrememely firendly and speak excellent english, have an enthusiasm about them that is not matched in many high profile hotels. The facilities are well maintained, clean, contemporary and welcoming. Off season (ski season) the supporting services to the hotel are a little sporadic, the resturants / bars may be closed early, may not open or offer a reduced level of service that should not be expected from a hotel advertising four stars.
No food available anywhere in the hotel after 8 pm and not close enough to town for quick food elsewhere.
FElt like a holiday - even though I was there for business.
The room was very functional, clean and perfect for a short stay. Modern design with wood and warm at the same time by using unfinished wood. Personel was very friendly. Good place to stay for an active holiday. Will definately return!
Nearly all staff were cordial and accomodating. One of the people at the spa desk was not helpfull
The staff were very friendly. The bed was in the wall and this was not apparant at first! There was no free tv and I would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms or a mini bar.
Very frindly and helpful staff and wonderful environment I found everything was nice .
I liked the peaceful atmosphere with the golf course outside my window. I also liked the quiet corridors and homey eating areas. NA
very nice, spaceous apartments, with kitchen etc. no soap?!?
Excellent room, very spacious, nice view of golf course, right on golf course, very good breakfast spread Room had a kitchen but no pots, pans plates or utensils --- told they would be provided if I had asked. This should be made known to customer at check-in. Very hot days, A/C should be turned on prior to guest arriving, if you have the room confirmed by credit card.
Reception very helpful and friendly Please thank them
If you like golf I'm sure you'd see the benefits of being here. The front desk staff were friendly No free wireless, bizarrely huge suites with no kitchenette equipment (so why have a suite ?) Restaurant ok but closes before 2100 hrs.No public transport into Brunssum or Heerlen and taxis expensive. No fitness room, no movies channel, no in room coffee/tea
Comfortable and in a fine location.
Large room/suite. Breakfast buffet was at best only "fair".
The room size. The attached golf court. The gentle staff It was isolated in a forest 3km away from the nearest town. The cleanliness and poor outdoor furniture on both balconies.
If you are visiting Brunssum, or if you enjoy golfing, this hotel is excellent. As far as I could determine, every room is a "suite" - i.e., bedroom and large living room. The living room has a nice kitchenette and dining table. I didn't expect this, so it was a nice surprise. Also, although the kitchen is presently being remodeled, the meals the hotel could offer were excellent.
Pleasant service and atmosphere, set menu dinner was good value Excessive street noise from local bars probably due to Hollands participation in UEFA football
Dinner (Menu) was excellent! The location is the centre of the city, and it was very quiet. The toillet and the shower cabin don't have enough space. Man feels very tight.
Friendly receptionist. Pre - arranged parking. Good breakfast. Good central position to the town centre. Rather tired decoration in our family room. Cramped with adition of bunk beds which had no ladder, or side bar to prevent a child from falling out (would not have been suitable if our children had been younger). Given one bottle of shower gel for 4 of us (to shower with each twice !) This hotel was expensive for an overnight stay, it had rather off putting list of 'rules' in the welcome brochure in the room and was old fashioned in its attitude to families
The breakfast, the place where hotel is situated ( very near center but no noise), small hotel We were surprised by small size of the room. This is also reason why we find value for money "fair".
Wished we could have stayed longer, wonderful hotel really cosy, clean and welcoming, continental breakfast was huge.
Located very close to town centre.Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms comfortable.Good breakfast. We stayed at the weekend and had a room at the front of the hotel, noise from the road outside, both traffic and revellers, went on tll quite late.
The place Valkenburg Bussy traffic in front
The hotel was very convenient for a car show that we were attending. Unfortunately our stay in early July coincided with a heatwave and the lack of air-conditioning made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep, despite being loaned a fan for some of the time.
location, everything we required very close by
Nice staff Room rather basic
Quaint and comfortable
Staff very friendly and approachable. Breakfast service excellent. Lack of air conditioning was a problem. As was the location of the room on the first night (facing on to the main road). The temperature was very high and when the windows were opened the noise was incredibly loud. Although, it should be noted that when we requested a room change, this request was met.
the relatively low price it is a four starr hotel, but when you use the television set in the room at normal volume, the neigbor starts instantaneously to knock on your door due to too much noise in his/her (in this case: her) room; the floor of my room was skewed (different levels at different sides of the room); the room had no window, but only a balcony door with a rather small window in it; all by all not the level of comfort you would expect from a 4 starr hotel!
Vey friendly staff - When I asked at the reception I they had toothpaste as I had forgotten mine, they unfortunately didn't have any (in a 4 star hotel ????), but the friendly barman/receptionist gave me a tube of his own to help me out. Breakfast was crowded, but very good The room wasn't just small as advertised, but very small The tv was also tiny - so small that it was difficult to see the programme. There was no shower curtain/glass and you could only shower by holding the showerhead as there was no wall fitting to hang it on. Overall, we didn't think that the hotel was deserving of a four star rating - At the most a low 3
The location and staff were excellent. The breakfast was very nice including breads, meats cheese and cereals. There also was a cappucino machine which was a plus.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. They had my room ready early and let me have an early check-in at 11.30am. Location was excellent - very quiet and was how it was described on webpage.
The hotel and staff was very nice. I would always come back here.
Quiet hotel, with good restaurant. WiFi makes it possible to still do some work in the evening. Very nice surroundings.
nature, quite, hotels restaurant, perfect location i think that they need to improve the standard of bathroom / shower with fungi
The room was even better than on the photograph
The outside and the grounds were beautiful. The room was tiny, the carpet and furniture was old and didn't match.
Very friendly, food correct. Very handy for the indoor ski dome only 2 mins by car. No charm at all in the rooms
Food Good Friendly Staff
Location and hotel itself are just amazing! Staff was friendly and we got another room when we found out that the one for us didnt have bath which was mentioned in our reservation. Nice breakfast, great terrace with fountains and ponds. Big parking place.
It is situated in the centre. It was rather noisy.
The helpful way the staff dealt with the overbooking problem and the quality of the (upgraded) rooms we were allocated on the second night. Yes. In spite of having received a booking confirmation at the time I booked, the hotel had no record when we arrived. The hotel was fully booked. However, the hotel staff provided us with immediate (complimentary) refreshments and set about trying to find us alternative rooms for the first night. This was in a newly rerfurbished hotel in Valkenburg. Although the rooms were clean, furniture was limited to beds and a single chair only. No TV or even simple wall pictures. One of the rooms did not even have a wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes. This was only acceptable to us since there was nothing else available in Valkenburg on one of their busiest days of the year. I would like an explanation of how this problem could have occured.
Location, the appartment new and big,the staff,. No internet. No telephone.Overpriced for such hotel.
Suitable as a base for touring south east Holland or across the border into Germany Picturesque area. No evening meals available.
Excellent and helpful staff, good spoken English which was a bonus for non-Dutch speakers. Central location did make it noisy at weekends (from outside, not the hotel guests).
The hotel is very bad. No soap and shampoo in the shower and no track of hair-dryer in the bathroom. The staff is no kind and they have no competences in problem solving.
Breakfast. The room's are nothing like the photo's shown on the NET.The room,s we were given were classed as doubles/twin to me all they were good enough for was over night stay, you could not realy unpack due to lack of wardrobe space, there was no where to sit but on the bed.
