Stressless first or last night
Close to airport, and car rental locations, friendly staff, and hotel nice and clean. Excellent, efficient and convenient shuttle service for both car rental return and ride to airport. Was very nice to not have to worry about any of the transportation. The closed in compound creates a nice, oasis feel in a dense urban area. Would stay here again first or last night. Close to Alejuela and convenient drive to Poas Volcano and views of San Jose.
Very small room for 2 adults and 2 kids trying to pack up after a lovely vacation. Bed “and breakfast” usually means breakfast is included and not just available, but was the second time we noticed this in Costa Rica. So just be aware of this trend if you are on a tight budget. Still would recommend this spot for its location, friendliness and cleanliness.
Great location, with a free shuttle to airport. Restaurant serves unbelievable meals. They are very accommodating. Not a whole lot to do in area though.
close to airport
The place is beautiful. Clean. Close to airport. Had shuttle that will pick you up at airport. Has a restaurant/bar. Beautiful pool. Perfect place to rest after & before traveling.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. But it is in a neighborhood that I was not prepared for when in your mind your coming to paradise Costa Rica. It is in the middle of a city neighborhood.
Free airport shuttle 24/7
Horrible experience! - not sure if it's Kayak's fa
Upon traveling by bus all day to San Jose for my flight out the next morning, I get to the airport to call for my hotel shuttle... and am told there are no rooms for me, the hotel was overbooked. It's 8pm and I'm tired and hungry - the receptionist tells me to come to the hotel through their shuttle and they'll help me find another room. After waiting longer than she said it would take, the shuttle finally arrives and takes me to La Riviera. The lady at the front desk is nice and tells me that they've gotten me a room at comparable hotel right behind theirs. By the time I am finally shuttled over there and checked into my room it is nearly 10pm - too late for me to mess with any other arrangements for a room upon discovering that the room is NOT comparable in any way!! La Riviera looked nice with AC, flatscreen TV, a pool, free breakfast, style... my 'comparable' room, which was two dollars more even, was a hole-in-the-wall hotel down pretty much an alley. The room was a mess with multiple beds (one a bunk bed), AC or TV didn't work - it was a local family room - and no offense to that, but it was a room I'd NEVER pay $70 in Costa Rica for! I signed up to pay that amount for a nice, classy looking room in a hotel with gardens and ambiance! I felt taken advantage of and ripped off, and upon expressing this to the lady at the new hotel was met with nothing but the offer to find another room. Really?! It was too late and I was exhausted!! I wish either Kayak or La Riviera wouldn't have overbooked their rooms OR the lady would have been honest about the 'comparable' room so I could have found another at the airport before being shuttled to their nook in the huge city and essentially locked in at a late hour. This hotel looked super nice, it's a shame! I would never stay here though because of this experience.
Providing an outdoor pool, La Riviera Hotel offers well-appointed rooms close to L.D. Alajuelense. It is also within walking distance of Belen's popular attractions.
This 3-star hotel provides a 24-hour reception, an airport shuttle and a concierge. In fine weather, an outdoor terrace offers an ideal spot to relax.
Rooms feature a private bathroom, a ceiling fan and an in-room closet. They are also fitted with cable/satellite channels, a shower and a telephone.
With its own restaurant that serves international and Spanish dishes, La Riviera provides guests with all they need for an enjoyable evening without having to leave the hotel.
Juan Santamaria International Airport is within a half an hour drive of La Riviera Hotel, as are La Sabana Metropolitan Park and Costa Rican Center of Science and Culture. San Antonio de Escazu is easily reached by car.
