Pros (+) The location, staff, view of the Zocalo and Cathedral were great. It's a gorgeous historical building. Very beautiful architecture. I went back in time. It was like staying in a museum and being allowed to touch all of the artifacts. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and a great value. I would stay there again. Sunday brunch buffet on the terrace overlooking the Zocalo are worth the trip ...
Cons (-) I expected that a building this old would be somewhat obsolete given today's demanding consumers. But the bed was really stiff and door to the balcony didn't shut well and I was afraid that someone from an adjacent balcony to break in to our room. The painter painted some of the tile edge. Pros (+) Enjoyed the fact that the majority of staff was readily available to assist and they were professional.
Cons (-) There was at least one staff member (day receptionist) was unprofessional and was not willing sharing information when I inquire about transportation. He was rather disrespectful.

Pros (+) The location is perfect for exploring Mexico city. This is a beautiful hotel. The colonial architecture is beautiful to the eye. The view from the balcony of the street life and zocalo was always entertaining.
Cons (-) It is a bit loud at night but this is to be expected. Bring ear plugs. The lighting for reading in bed at night is terrible.
