all the above is within the context of the special offer we received. Having been taken over recently the owners have lost their way slightly in terms of the bar/catering facilities. Not appropriate to 4**** accommodation. A pity.
all the facilities were close at hand including the golf. the small grass football pitch was a great benefit for our children
A very quiet hotel in a beautiful location with spectacular views. The appartment was very well equipped and comfortable. Nice little golf course, and alovely pool area. The restaurant was really a cafe an dnot open in the evening. Not many local restaurants close by.
Large size of apartment, with kitchen and sitting area and spacious balcony. Peaceful location. Breakfast could have been more interesting and varied. No restaurants within easy walking distance. Room wasn't serviced on Sunday (we weren't told in advance).
Facilities are excellent, apartments are clean and spacious.
Hotel Staff very good and helpful. Hotel very central, just round the corner from the bus station and train station and Faro beautiful Marina. Rooms very basic, pillows were so hard. The triple room we reserved was small double with a bunk bed thrown at the botton of the bed/.
The hotel catered for smokers. The staff wwere very helpful without being intrusive. Although the room was very clean - the smell of the cleaning products used was quite overpowering.
The rooms are new and great. They charged my credit card 5 days before I came without my signature or anything.
Next to the train and bus station (2 min.). Short walking distance to the old town as well. None.
front desk is very helpful. SHowers are very small. Breakfast needs more variety, there was hardly anything except bread and cheese
Clean and comfortable, idea for a stopover close to the airport The area around the hotel in general
Excellent location and friendly helpful staffs The hot water system not so great and bathroom has moulds on the ceiling.
The staff were friendly. The breakfast was a welcome extra. The room was fairly comfortable and nice bathroom Balcony didnt lock
Meeting the man from Zimbawe and also the owner. Very helpful and friendly
Location and non smoking floors
Beautiful grounds - garden, golf, excellent restaurant, very good breakfast, nice room. Just a bit hard to find the first time, using a GPS is advisable
The relaxed and peaceful atmosphere around the immaculately presented hotel and pool. Staff were friendly, attentive and knew what they were doing. Restaurant was very good but menu limited. Dog barking regularly spoiled the tranquility. Beds were firm beyond the comfortable.
A charming hotel with very nice attentive staff. The room was large and nicely furnished and the location was quiet and idyllic. The service in the restaurant was excellent.
Very relaxing environment and excellent food in the restaurant and breakfast room No other bars / restaurants locally - a hire car is needed or taxis need to be pre-booked at an additional cost
Excellent stay at this hotel. Staff very professional but also friendly. Would recommend highly. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel but this was more because we arrived quite late & tired but it is tucked away which is part of its charm.
Really nice pool that was never too busy (in early august), great restaurant with reasonable prices, location was good (out of the way but close enough to Tavira/Olhao), nice breakfast
Welcoming and friendly staff, lovely grounds, peaceful location, spacious rooms with countryside views, excellent breakfast. Beds rather firm and unsupportive
The location was really beautiful, and the Hotel was delightful Nothing, only thing maybe we would have liked sky tv
location was lovely, so close to faro yet in the country. restaurant was very good and cheap too. Nice place to stay and outstanding value. The staff were nice but not warm ( except restaurant), as it is a small hotel they could make it feel more personal. We didnt know you could have a cooked breakfast until our last morning when we saw someone else had one! Noone bot So staff attitude could improvehered to ask or tell us. We had problems with room safe, and it was due to low battery, but it was clear they thought we were just stupid
Quality of the hotel and it's grounds. Nothing
Good location Nice and clean Good breakfast Helpful staff To use the indoor pool you need to use a bath cap, which they charge you for (€3). No iron available in the room, they can supply you one, but for a daily charge (€5).
Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff,we had an early flight so they sent a lovely breakfast up to our room.We also loved the night time chocolates with a little card to say "sweet dreams"
Found all the staff very cooperative, pleasant and willing to help in any way they could. All public rooms and bedroom except the main lounge seating area. The staff in the restaurant always particularly pleasant and the supervisor in the restaurant that handled a complaint very well and professional for us. The beds in the bedroom were the most comfortable we have experienced, and overly cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. There is absouloutely no comfortable seating in the main lounge/lobby. The food in the restaurant was good quality but lacking choice apart from fish. Also, there was a conference on and this tool first place in all areas and guests attention was taken away. Not good when you are there to relax. Music all over hotel monotonous and repetitive. Better off with easy music. local english people walking into hotel, not residents asking for your british hotel newspaper whilst still reading them.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good with great orange juice and coffee, fresh ingredients. Didn't like that they charged €10 to use the sauna and steam room. A sauna and steam-room!!!, it's not as if we're getting a massage for the day. We went in November and one day it rained constantly, what else is there to do? If you are a resident, after paying good money for the room, you should be able to use these facilities.
The hotel is in a good location-just a few minutes stroll from the town where there are plenty of restaurants. All the staff made eye contact and could not have been more helpful. The food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. There is quite a wide variety of price for the wines so care needs to be taken when ordering. A nice touch is the interactive TV in the room which has plenty of channels and enables you to see the running total of your bill. An outside area for coffee after dinner would have added to our enjoyment. Having to leave the hotel was also disappointing. We would love to have stayed longer.
The comfortable bed and the pool. no tea and coffee making facilties, drinking water not supplied
good value for money, very close to train station
Close to the airport. My flight cam in late and the hotel was easy to find with directions from the airport. Only stayed overnight. Room was Ok. Breakfast terrible. No real coffee or fruit juice.
Good value for money. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast rather basic
lovely private balcony, decent breakfast selection internet wasn't working
Helpful staff, pleasant hotel interior, clean room and bathroom, decent bed, AC, balcony with view Ugly street and unattractive main entrance (but a lot better from the other side)
The Residencial Afonso lll was a great place for us to stay as we were flying out of Faro at 6 am. It is a 2 min walk from the train station and seemed to be in a good location. Staff was fantastic and very eager to assist with directions, information etc. Rooms were small but comfortable. A very nice place, for the budget traveller. Bathtub was permenantly stained where bathmat should be and bathroom could have been cleaner. I think it was more the appearance of being dirty (eg old grout, stained floor etc) than actual dirt.
The hotel was very convenient for all transport/s. Room small but adequate. Complimentary continental breakfast also adequate.
The breakfast, the central location Two single beds pushed together to make a "double bed"
get waht you pay for, good value lights went in bathroom and the lift stopped working cause the cleaner got the hoover jammed in between shaft and the door,
The fact that the room had a patio, and the cleanliness The room was extremely small, and had no view whatsoever, despite the advertised. The room was located at the back of the hotel, far from the main entrance, having to pass through the breakfast room to get there. It faced the emergency exit of the nearby hospital, and since it was on the first floor, I could hardly sleep, because of the noise.
Very nice building/achitecture (old palace with modern style hotel complex), very nice dining area in old palace, nice pool, nice rooms, absolutly recommended for short stays Staff seems sometimes unexperienced, for longer stays menu little bit limited
Staff was very friendly, the bed was big and comfortable, the masseurs were very good, fresh lemonade to welcome you at the front desk Dinner (not at all what would you expect from the pretentions and the price -was totally average!), the staff, although friendlywas sometimes inneficientely busy - or too many of them, or just not there....
A Portuguese 1800s Palace turned into a luxury boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant overlooking Faro. Avoid high room numbers, it's a long walk to the last rooms.
The great staff ,all very kind and helpfull.Everybody is a great professional. Very hard to find ,even with the help of a GPS!!
The staff where friendly and helpful and the location was very peacfull
It is not real palace as for example pousada de Queliz
An amazing mix of tasteful restorIon of Baroque palace with cutting-edge contemporary designed accommodation. Beautiful setting but close to authentic Portuguese small town traditions. Nothing of note
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were very clean and modern, all new fixtures and the bed was very comfortable. Gorgeous garden and property. Food left something to be desired, and the pool bar wasn't always staffed - at one point several guests were searching the Spa, hotel lobby, etc. for someone to place a drink order with. There isn't much to do around the property, which if you get cabin fever like I did by the 3rd day, you have to take a cab ride to Faro or some of the larger towns to sight see and eat at new restaurants.
nice combination of ancient building with modern hotel, attractive pool area (with small pool), large room with king size bed, free garage parking, free WLAN, attractive buffet breakfast and some good dinner options
The quiteness, the views, the nice decoration, the pool, the breakfast. Everything was very nice. They don't provide free internet ; it costs 10 € per hour !!! For a big and luxury hotel (and certainly not cheap), they should provide internet in every room for free, we are in 2009.
Was there for a short overnight. got off at wrong exit was told two direction signs had come down and weren't replaced. staff is wonderful room very comfortable, you need a gift shop of some sort
Absolutely everything-the food, the location, the beautiful old palace bulidings which had been so cleverly linked with the new. It was exceptional and I will return
comfortable and relaxed.Friendly staff who are helpful. Breakfast prepared too far in advance.could be varied.Car park too expensive and poor design
No bedside table No facecloth No tissues Very minimalist decor
Great location in the centre of Faro with stunning coastal views from rooftop the Restaurant The noise from the town square can be an issue in the early hours
No room service menu - only on bar menu which was ham & cheese or cheese & ham sandwiches!;
Convenient location, very clean and comfortable room found the sound proofing minimal with noticable noise from adjacent rooms
Good Location Information pack in room not good
Good location, easy to find easy to check in and out nice scenery at the breakfast room air-condition was poor carrage was expensive (10 e/ngt), same as bigger cities
We liked the location, the view from our room to the marina, the excellent rooftop restaurant, the friendliness of the staff.
The location and the design of the hotel.
Breacfast on the 4th floor with nice view to the salt marshes I did not now do I need to pay additionally for drinks from refregerator or it is included in price
the location very poor service for a 4 star hotel: no working safe in the room, a mini bar with 3 bottles of water, no working internet service.....
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the short distance to local bars, restaurants and shops was a bonus.
Breakfasts excellent and great to sit beside the window on the top floor sipping coffee and watching planes approaching the airport, with the marina below. Overall the hotel provides very good for money. Internet booking saved about 7 euros per night While we were there we booked an extra night for a fortnight later and were given suite style accommodation for that night, which was excellent recently refurbished accommodation. Swimming pool on the roof is a real bonus, with excellent views across the coastline. Accommodation very central, excellent position. There is a busy street below and the main bus and coach station, however, two layers of double glazed doors and thick curtains means that sleep is not a problem Other guest reviews I had seen were not as positive about the hotel as I thought they could be. Unable to get a marina side view even though requested in email.
Hotel Eva is a very pleasant place with helpful staff and great facilities, which makes it an ideal place to stay in faro,If their is a down side it would be that their can be some street noise but this depends on which room you are staying in as to the level of noise that you will hear.
practice sports in hotel Gym
Good location yet very quiet Don't know why we weren't given a balcony when we paid for most expensive room and hotel was far from full
The gym WiFi access not available
We selected hotel EVA in Faro for location and value for money. Both were excellent. The hotel is in the same building as the bus station for the lines from faro to Sevilla, Spain, and at the same time 200m from the old town. Internet should be free of charge, as there is no running cost for it. Safety box in room was not large enough for my laptop.
Great view , good location in Faro, very nice spa .
Staff were really great, location was good, beds were reasonably comfortable although it was two singles and as we'd just got engaged we wanted a double. Wifi didn't work, beds were crammed in- and there were three, when we only needed the one double- room service selection was really poor, facilities were ok but the pool was absolutely freezing, shower leaked everywhere and the bathroom grouting had mould growing on it, room temperature control didn't work so on a hot day was pouring out hot air into the room...to say it was a four star hotel it has two star qualities. Be glad the staff are fantastic because the rest of it was really poor. Would definitely never go back.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a great house. Rental car recommended. Great place to relax.
It was a perfect Portuguese hotel set in a small agricutural town with fantastic staff , a lovely room and balcony, small pool set within a relaxing courtyard. Very atmospheric and delightful.
friendly and helpful manager; excellent breakfast; very nice interesting town.
Beautiful house - lots of history and nicely appointed rooms.
The hotel staff was very helpful and we enjoyed staying there a lot. The hotel is very beautiful, its swimming pool is great too. If bored its possible to play pool or chess. The city where hotel is located has a nice atmosphere. Having a car is a must.
The quaintness and character of the house, both inside and out. There were no credit card facilities and the pool was neither heated (as advertised) nor particularly clean. As an aside to the hotel itself, the neighbouring church chimes its bells on the hour and half hour too which can be a bit disruptive if you want an afternoon snooze by the pool!
wonderful hotel full of nooks and crannies to explore.great service, nothing is too much trouble.Very helpful manager who is very welcoming and friendly.Had a great stay as it is a great location for airport, motorway and Faro.excellent base. Somewhat noisy rooms opposite village square. breakfast ok for short stay, but became boring after fourteen days
The management immediately make you feel welcome. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff excellent. Everyone shares their days' experiences at breakfast or in the comfortable bar/lounge in the evenings. Nothing to fault.
Set in a quiet village it was like stepping back in time on passing through the Doors of Casa de Estoi. Fabulous hotel superbly clean All the staff made us feel welcome and spoke good English.Perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway.
the staff were very attentive and they had a pool table and a number of chess boards just laying around the place, it feels like your at home, there was a lot of traffic sound, you are surrounded on all sides by road and they tend to fly around reving the engines a lot,
The accessabilityto local shops, restaurants and seafront. The smart appearance and politeness of the staff. Newly refurbished to a high standard. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
location was tops ,staff more than helpful and it met all my requirements of my holiday Balcony door did not shut properly , was no security risk but noise was a slight issue room 207
Family room, clean, well equipped. One of the staff members at the reception desk was kind of rude. The rest of the staff was good. The room we stayed in was tiny. The pillows were very old and unconfortable.
Excellent location and very clean. Also, all facilities are in hotel for food and beverage.
great value for money, good room, not big for 2, but ok. Breakfast is nourishing, the hotel has its own confectioner, all the bakery is very delicious, especially Portuguese national round cakes with custard. The hotel is near to the centre and city mall with shops, pastelarias and small restaurants they have no ironing room or at least iron. Also there is no computer with i-net. So if you are unlucky to travel without netbook, prepare to look for an i-net cafe.
great location. very competent courteous and helpful staff. excellent breakfast! rooms were exceptionally clean and provided all amenities. would highly recommend great value for a stay in Algarve
nice staff, esp at reception, spoke fluent English, well situated hotel, clean and modern it was like it was still undir construction, not complete, the breakfast was not so interesting
We have been travelling around Italy, Southern Spain and Portugal for three months and this hotel is easily the best value for money accommodation we found. Staff are wonderful, very friendly, professional and always anxious to help. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a set menu (changes daily) of a three course meal with either a fish or meat dish for seven and a half euros. They also have a great (and cheap) coffee shop with some of the best cakes we could find. We stayed four nights and wished it had been more. Faro is a lovely little town where you can spend quite a few days looking around and just taking it easy. We met people who have been coming back to this hotel for years and we can understand why.
Proximity of excellentn restaurants and services Parking problem (no street parking aside from 2 spots)
Location, cleanliness, staff Not applicable
Friendly and helpfull staff.
The hotel was very quiet and we had view on a church from our window. Someone walked into our room straight after we checked in - we think that it was cleaner.....
Everything was ok, we stayed there very shortly but it was clean, easy to find,
parking and cenral
The cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the staff knowledge was excellent, providing maps and showing you where everything was. The lack of facilities at the hotel was disappointing, there was nothing to do when the weather was bad and I am pleased I didn't have the children with me because that would have been a nightmare.
The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel is very quiet. The staff are nice and helpful and the location is good, about 10 minutes walk to the city center. The only thing I didnt like too much was the breakfast, as it is very basic. A bit more choice and variety would be really good.
The room was quite big. It had a separate living room as well a jacuzzi. The breakfast was excellent. It is a bit far from the bus/train station. It was a bit difficult to find it.
The room door lock was pretty poor and staff merely showed me how to open it with my shoulder
it was clean, comfortable, good location, close to airport and walkable to all town amenities.
No hastle No
It's a place to stay in longer as its really luxurious and better cared overall around
The villas are comfortable, nicely refurbished and quite attractive. I did not have hot water in the first day which meant having cold showers... something that I always detested, even if after a lovely day at the beach
Great facilities at a great rate and staff very accomodating. N/A
great area, pool area great and location was super TV was not clear, toilet seat kept falling down rooms a bit shabby,
The birds and the trees. The people of the front desk. They tried to charge me with the telephones calls that are toll free. They are very rude.
Accessibility A bit old fashioned
fantastic Place/ very very nice nothing
Very clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff who was ever willing to help. New apartments. Great location. No WiFi internet connection in apartments.
The apartment was not completed so they transferred us to their hotel for the same price. 4 double rooms!!!!! Staff friendly and efficient. Facilities excellent. Location good for airport as we needed an overnight stopover. Breakfast - lots to choose from. Overall a great find and would recommend . No.
Modern apartment hotel, over-looking the water - just opened! We only stayed one night so couldn't take full advantage of the location but there did seem to be lots of places worth exploring in close proximity. Each apartment block had its own roof-top pool with a small number of loungers and parasols. Faro Airport is an easy car journey away so this makes an excellent place to stay on the first or last night of a holiday in the Algarve. There were a few teething problems but I'm sure these will be ironed out soon. The balcony furniture hadn't yet arrived. Seemed to be no air conditioning in the lifts during our stay and if this were to continue in the height of summer this could be an irritation.
A fabulous new hotel with excellent facilities in a great location! Great breakfast! We were lucky in getting an upgrade from the apartments to the hotel and really enjoyed it - we will be going back in October! A wonderful location and great facilites - we were there mid July and perhaps there were some teething problems with staffing - there seemed to be lots of staff but it was sometimes difficult to get their attention to serve you- when we did gain their attention the service was excellent! The spa was a little overpriced and I felt my treatment was rushed and cut short which wasn't very relaxing!
Last night after cycle tour from Lisbon. Stored our bikes on their landing before flight home. Very helpfull and friendly staff.
Great helpful staff. Rooftop balcony. DIY kitchen. V v pleasant! No a/c. Small room.
It was a very nice pension. We had a good time there. It was very clean and there was a very nice terrass on top of the builidng with a fabulous view over the city.
Excellent location and lovely terrace with great views. Nothing
The staff and the top terrace Bathrooms are a bit smelly.
Lovely place, ideally located for exploring Olhao and area, good value for money. Friendly, helpful staff and topped off - literally - by the rooftop terrace, a great place to sit and enjoy your own food & drink!
close proximity to the beach and friendly staff made our stay pleaseant and hotel views where decent dated decoration and facilities not enough pillows and uncomfortable bed
I loved the hotel. The location cannot get any better, for the beach is literally 10 seconds away and it's only 5 mins by car from the airport, and yet you get peace and quiet since it's located on the isolated lagoon that can only be reached by crossing the bridge. The staff were very helpful, spoke very good English, very kind. They gave a lift for my very early departure and made me a lunch pack. The room had a balcony facing the beach and Atlantic Ocean and the dining space is facing the lagoon where you can see the Sun coming out and have breakfast while enjoying the view. I abosolutely had an amazing time and the very best time of my life. Nothing I can say.
it was 10m from the beach, not far from the airport and had really friendly staff perhaps the bathroom - but it was value for money
The location of the hotel is very good, just a few steps form the beach. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.
good proximity to airport for late flights, and location on the beach nothing
