10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about our stay. Carl and Jane are a really lovely couple who welcomed us on our arrival and were shown to our bright and airy room. The accommodation was fabulous with every detail thought out carefully. First class! The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. We had a twin room and a shared bathroom which we were a little worried about at first but we didn't need to be. It was fabulous. We felt as if we were in our own apartment as there was no sound at all from other residents. Very quiet, peaceful and totally relaxing. The surrounding area is wonderful with a working farm. The breakfast was from their own and locally sourced produce and tasted delicious. Jane and Carl were happy to talk about the bed and breakfast but it was the extra special connection to the countryside and the food that is the real attraction and we chatted about their day to day activities farming and cooking. Thank you Carl and Jane
Cons: We only stayed for two nights!

Pros: Perfect for a get away. Clean, comfortable and luxurious room and en suite. Great view, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Little touches were really special: coffee bags rather than instant, a small jug of real milk in the fridge instead of UHT single use packs normally favoured by guest houses. Eype's Mouth Country Hotel - Bridport - Building
13
9.0 Excellent (290 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Bridport, Eype's Mouth Country Hotel is by the sea, within a 10-minute drive of Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club and West Bay Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. Planning an event in Bridport? This hotel has facilities measuring 100 square feet (9 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All perfect
Cons: Nothing
4.2 Okay
Pros: The hotel is located in a picturesque location, close to the seaside. It has pleasant communal areas, including a outdoor terrace area. There seems to be ample parking. Bridport and West Bay are a short drive, and there is ready access to/from the A35.
Cons: To be fair, the standard of accommodation is probably on par with most other hotels in the area (and the English seaside in general). Unfortunately, that standard is very poor by contemporary expectations. One night of accommodation cost me about US$150, and for that I got a tired old room complete with a television that looked like it was straight from the 1980s. I suspect the room was located above the kitchen, as the corridor was filled with the smells of cooking (and not in a nice way). The shower was simply ridiculous. It was difficult to get wet due to such little water flow - literally a trickle. Honestly, I felt dirtier after the shower than before. No wonder the British have a reputation for not washing. I wouldn’t wash if it meant standing in a bathtub under a trickle of luke warm water with a shower curtain clinging to me - all of which was my experience at the Eype’s Mouth Hotel. The showering experience alone is enough for me to not recommend staying. Sure, I could have taken a bath. However I figured the water flow was such that the luke warm water would be cold when finally at a usable depth. Oh yeah, and I’m not inclined to sit in water I’ve just used to wash myself. I can’t comment much on the staff as my interactions were limited. On arrival somebody handed me a key (with a tag the size of a cricket bat) before I was left to lug my bags up a flight of narrow stairs and along a corridor conveniently fitted with three self closing fire doors to my room. On departure (after lugging my bags along the reverse route from my room) somebody else handed me a receipt, perhaps not game to ask ‘how was your stay?’ The following night I stayed at the Premier Inn, Heathrow Terminal 4. The room cost me about US$60 and provided everything the Eype’s Mouth didn’t - contemporary comfort and (best of all) an adequately functioning shower. At last I felt clean again. Now that was a restful night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I think I made a poor choice of breakfast, the continental option was not quite what I had expected. I only wanted croissants and rolls with butter and jam.
Cons: I would rather have had a basket of croissants and rolls in the help yourself table.

Cons: The furniture and carpets in public areas could do with updating.

Cons: Every thing was fabulous and I mean everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful location Friendly staff Pleasant ambiance
Cons: We ate in the hotel bistro restaurant the first night but felt the main course was ultimately let down by the meagre amount of vegetables (in the various forms )served on the plate. Also we weren’t advised that you couldn’t mix and match the menus either until seated at the table making our choice! Pity as having eaten at special restaurants previously the chef has always been very happy to ‘ go out of their way ‘ to satisfy a request! However the beef was excellent.

Pros: Overall a great experience.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for a get away. Clean, comfortable and luxurious room and en suite. Great view, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Little touches were really special: coffee bags rather than instant, a small jug of real milk in the fridge instead of UHT single use packs normally favoured by guest houses. Lovely breakfast every morning. I’ve paid more for a lot lot less. I’ll be going back and would recommend to anyone!
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was private from the rest of the house
Cons: The fact you couldn’t link onto the WiFi or use the tv
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property. Very clean modern room, comfy bed, fantastic shower, lovely toiletries in bathroom. The room had everything we needed and breakfast was wonderful. Great stay.. thank you
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts were very good. Bed was comfortable. Shower was very good.
Cons: Parking facilities were inadequate. Pictures a d description of rooms were misleading.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Bright and clean room. Really pleasant and nice proprietor.
Cons: Nothing really bad. The parking could be tight if the guest house was full, but it wasn't.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was excellent as was the room. Parking was a problem and you are asked to leave your keys in an unsafe location. The house was located at the top of a very steep hill so not suitable for the elderly. We had to get a taxi or bus from the town centre.
Cons: Location and parking

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were really impressed with the friendly welcome that we had when we arrived, our room was spotless and we had the most comfortable four nights stay in the Dower House hotel. Rosemarie and Neil went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, they were so friendly and thoughtful and although the weather was quite wet for most of our stay in Dorset, the Dower House with Rosemarie, Neil and all the staff were our sunshine.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location in beautiful Lyme Regis. Lovely views from the rear dining room and some bedrooms. Very good breakfast, excellent free parking.
Cons: Pillows could be better, and it was a bit more pricey then in the larger resorts at this time of year.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean and well appointed hotel. Super friendly reception.
Cons: A bit of a climb up from town but car parking not too far from hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful however we felt that one person to carry out reception bar and waitress ... she was a credit to the hotel ...did not give a good impression appreciating its low season however that’s part of the industry and should not reflect on standards. The evening meal was mixed my meal was a very poor standard . Breakfast excellent standard hotel tables and room very clean and comfortable
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was very good with easy walking access to the seafront. It is a bit of a walk uphill if you are elderly or quite unfit. Otherwise not a problem at all. Clean room. Great shower. Tv also in room. Nice breakfast of cereals and fruit. Cooked also available. Stayed 2 nights.
Cons: The only fault was a bit of mildew on the shower ceiling.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, great view, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Cons: Sunday roast beef was pre packed slices
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, friendly hotel, perfect location for exploring Lyme Regis, the Cobb and looking for fossils in the beach. Plentiful breakfast, really lovely staff couldn’t do enough for me. The room was cosy, with low beams, which weren’t a problem as I’m quite short.
Cons: The electric heater seemed to be all or nothing, it was either boiling hot or too cold, but with some regular twiddling the controls it was fine. A shelf to put toiletries on in the shower room would be helpful, instead of putting things on the floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. An excellent choice of food, with very good and quick service The restaurant and the evening meal were great. My compliments to your chef for everything. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms (I stayed in two different ones) were first rate. Very well cleaned and prepared. It was convenient for town, though the climb back up the hill was a bit steep! Convenient carpark opposite
Cons: I will maybe go for a sea view room next time
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The white fluffy towels.Every where around The Hotel was very clean. The garden was tidy with a lovely view.Staff were polite and friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
Cons: We had 2 rooms and 1 of the rooms never had any water or glasses but this was only a minor detail.Everything else was exelent
7.0 Good
Cons: When we arrived there was an awful smell of old cooking oil throughout the hotel, which decided us to cancel our dinner booking. Breakfast was mediocre but service was very good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and food.
Cons: The bathroom
