Hotel was severely understaffed, one person for the whole hotel (receptionist), rooms werent cleaned, receptionist was having to go clean it herself, mantainance problems, room door would not lock, safe in the room didnt work. Very poor experience

My 2 night stay was charged in full the day I booked. There was no cancellation, which is fine. I arrived at 6pm (check in started at 3pm) after a long travel. My room was not ready, they needed to clean one??? Yet check out is 11am and I was charged for my room, so they knew I was coming. They told me it be 15 minutes, they were sending someone up right now. I’m not sure if I was relieved it was only going to be 15 minutes or grossed out it would only take 15 minutes to turn a room over. Later I found out the hotel was less then 1/4 full. When I got to my floor, the hallway had a giant bag (about 3ft x 3ft) full of dirty towels and linens. This bag remained in the hallway for the 48 hours I was at this hotel. I checked, mine was not the only floor that had one. I could hardly get by to get to my room. My room was not serviced during my 2 nights stay. The a/c unit was duct taped together because the plastic exterior had broken off. It came untapped overnight and made a huge crash. The TV was big but cable had not been installed yet, so it was useless. Not one channel came in. The price was certainly reasonable and the location (except for the last 2 blocks which were super dicey) was ideal. I knew not to expect the Ritz.
