Pros: This is a hotel that my best friend and I have been coming to for 15 years and everything works well and the cleaning staff are excellent.
Cons: our receptionist was not very helpful, telling us that we didn't have a reservation - which was confirmed by the hotel the previous day! may be she was having a bad day
Pros: Large spacious room, robes, slippers, fabulous bath
Cons: There was no blackout curtain... Luckily I brought an eye mask!

Pros: The ambiance was nice- classic old style .The rooms were big and the view spectacular. Unfortunately the bath tub drain cover was not working so it required a nail file to remove the cover to drain the tub. This was repeated every day of our stay without the staff fixing it! The room was not cleaned on returning in the afternoon and we were told by reception that we had to call for cleaning !The wall tiles had black mould which Is really unacceptable in a hotel of this class.also, our room had chipped paint around doors and peeling wallpaper trim. All in all,This hotel needs revamping. On the plus side, the location is the best in Nice.
Cons: The staff were very poor in responding to complaints - no apologies ever.My room smelled of mould ,to discover next day that there was a furnace type room opening into my closet, which did not have a door.On complaining ,I was given an excuse instead of an apology. Also, after staying 3 days,I was stopped by a security doorman on entering the lobby ,to question me if I was staying at the hotel. Very very upsetting and again ,after telling him yes ,no apology. Good staff should know the guests and be carful before causing an embarrassing moment. The service at breakfast was very poor and the buffet layout difficult to manage due to the tightness of the restaurant.
Pros: Wonderful wonderful staff and location location location. The rooms were well appointed and in a style that suited the hotel. The balcony was a great place to get a lovely view of the sea. The rooms were larger then most European hotel rooms and air conditioned which made it very comfortable in the August heat. The public areas and dining rooms were very comfortable and charming. Good business center with easy access.
Cons: The carpet in the halls made it hard to move luggage around and did not fit the period and style of the hotel. Some of the art didn't suit the hotel ambiance. The carpet in our room was very worn and old. The bathroom had chipped sharp tiles and had not been updated which was a little disappointing for the price point. We were also disappointed that no one informed of the beach facilities available.

The A/C and mini-fridge were a blessing in the summertime heat. The rooms were quite and the maid service was very helpful. Breakfast was offered each morning but we chose to eat out.
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and the location was great. You can't beat the value. Anytime we had questions about getting around town or transportation questions, the staff was right there to help us.

Pros: Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful.
Cons: We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
Pros: proximity to local transportation
Cons: size of room was too small even for one person
extremely loud at night

Good location with the main railway station close by - yet no noise:-)
Décor of rooms and throughout hotel is very quirky . Definitely a boutique type hotel.
Cons: Limited storage space in our room . Had to move furniture to open one of the wardrobe doors as our room whilst lovely & clean with nice décor was small. We didn't have a car so parking not an issue for us . Extremely limited on street parking space for those with cars.
The Excelsior Hotel Nice welcomes you to a fully renovated 19th century building with Belle Epoque architecture. Located in Nice, in the Musicians Quarter, just a stone's throw from the Promenade des Anglais, the beaches and the city center.
Pros: The only good point was its easy access to Acroplice, where our work was performed during my visit to Nice.
Cons: 1) Hotel did not tell that breakfast would be charged, not free. Food was really very humbel with some bread, cheeze, ham, juice and coffee.. Hotel charged 9 Euro per. IF hotel tell me the breakfast will be charged, then I would not have breakfast there at all. 2) Room was not comforable at all and old.
Pros: Small and cosy and conveniently situated for shops
Cons: No shower head bracket on the wall and no grab handle as bath was a bit high.
Pros: Nothing in particular
Cons: Room a bit stuffy but quiet so I could open a window. No pillow case on pillow the first night.
Pros: Good location good breakfast
Pros: nice staff
Cons: telephone conection was not good.

This art-deco-style hotel boasts a fantastic location close to the Promenade des Anglais and the old town, as well as tram and bus stops. Enjoy some time relaxing as a family and make the most of the hotel's rooftop solarium.
Cons: It was a very expensive Hotel to not have access to the swimming pool within the price. This is an additional €30. we paid nearly €200 a night not good value not including breakfast. Not what I expect from a 4 star.

If you are luck enough to get this hotel, you will enjoy. The breakfast was very nice.
Pros: Fantastic location.Excellent staff.
Cons: We were charged 17 euros for peanuts, etc. that were stated to be complimentary in the english hotel pamphlet in the room. Apparently the meaning ofcomplimentary is different in North America that in France. We should have known, lesson learned.
Located in front of the lush Promenade du Paillon park, and a 2-minute walk from the bustling square of Place Massena, the hotel is ideal for visitors to Nice and the French Riviera. Guests can stroll to the beaches in 5 minutes, passing the old town's top boutiques and bistros along the way.
Pros: Proximity to the boardwalk and fun of the active night life.
Cons: Cheap rooms, uncomfortable mattresses, subpar soundproofing so we could hear every conversation in other rooms and in the hallway, very mediocre breakfast, I mean it was very poor -- even easy to please kids didn't want it. The "happy" hour was lemon juice for kids or water. Lemon juice is not lemonade and terrible olives and terrible wine. Not up to snuff for the price paid. More like a 1 or 2 star hotel to me.
Pros: The best part of this hotel is Mwa the front desk manager. She was wonderful to work with.
Cons: I thought the rooms could use some minor upgrades: better bedspreads, pillows and sheets. Bathrooms need better soap, shampoo, etc. Cutting those corners costs a lot in experience.
Pros: Character and charm of the accommodation and the friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was ever a problem for them.
Cons: Loved everything!
