Pros: Good spacious clean, contemporary room with sufficient amenities.
Cons: Tv signal very poor, unable to watch tv
5.0 Okay
Pros: We stay in Harlow fairly regularly & generally chose Holiday Inn Harlow for it’s convenient location in the town centre . It’s usually been pretty good , but on this occasion (Saturday 14th March), we were not particularly impressed !!
Cons: The First room we were allocated absolutely reeked of stale cigarette smoke , including the bathroom. We went down to reception and have to say , the young lady was extremely helpful in immediately allocating us another room once we explained . I’m currently on crutches following knee surgery last week, so we asked if the new room could be closer to the lift . Our requirements were met and the new room was just up the corridor in the first floor. However , whilst the room did not smell of smoke, we did notice that the walls were dirty and stained in places and the dressing table black swivel chair was stained too !! We decided it was only for one night , so we wouldn’t complain again as the bed appeared clean . When it came to going to bed and the room was quiet , we heard a squeak sound , followed by what sounded like a cistern refilling !! We thought it was probably from the toilet cistern refilling and it would stop . However , this noise continued, approx every minute, ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! my fiancé managed to eventually fall asleep, but I had a dreadful nights sleep ! It wasn’t super loud, but loud enough once the room was completely silent, to be noticeable. We realised the next morning that it seemed to be coming from the other side of the bathroom Wall . There’s no room on that side , only a locked cupboard which we believe is where linen is stored ?? Not sure therefore, if there’s bathroom pipe work in between the walls?? We did mention it on check out when asked how our stay was , and we were refunded £15.00. On the plus side, great helpful reception staff !! & breakfast was good .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed during the corona virus lockdown period as a key worker and although there were limited services available my stay was pleasant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Due to Covid 19 there were reduced facilities, but the self serve breakfast was very good. Microwave available to heat your own food as no restaurant. Staff were very helpful especially at this difficult time.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast , room and bed and all round experience
Cons: Can’t say I didn’t like anything

6.0 Good
Pros: BREAKFAST WAS AS EXPECTED. ROOM WAS CLEAN AND TIDY STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND GENERALLY MET EXPECTATIONS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND IDEAL FOR MY NEEDS
Cons: THE BAR ONLY OPEN TILL 11PM. IN THIS DAY AND AGE WOULD EXPECT IT TO OPEN LATER. THE SHOWER HEAD AND HOSE WERE LEAKING IN NO MATTER HOW YOU TRIED TIGHTENING IT UP.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very power shower
Cons: Bed wasnotco. Fy
1.0 Poor
Pros: Country location & easy access to the motorway.
Cons: The hygiene in the hotel was very bad especially under the Coronavirus situation. Very poor staff training & we could not wait to leave the hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Reception staff very good Breakfast choice excellent with staff to match. Room good (comfortable, clean and well equipped though, as with all(?) hotel bedrooms these days, the lighting was only adequate in the en suite) - domestics helpful Plenty of free parking and the wi-fi worked well.
Cons: Evening meals - we ate in the bar with our dog. The food was fine but somewhere between ordering and delivery incompetence took over. Out of six meals ordered only one arrived to the agreed content (and that was fish, chips and mushy - so not too taxing). Twice Chicken, Bacon and Avocado salad arrived without avocado, explanation or apology. Chips instead of mash, unwanted onion, unwanted side salad etc.. Management needs to get its act together as an otherwise really good stay was let down by poorly trained and overseen staff - the third evening (and for all I know those preceding it) I was told that there was no management member on site.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room
Cons: Breakfast waited and did not turn up so had coffee and and toast and was charged £5.99
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast was poor and nothing like the advert

Pros: Well evidently they had stopped the breakfast after I made the booking so no breakfast. we stayed 3 nights and I would recommend the Italian restaurant. parking is becoming difficult when they are busy.
Cons: Not being able to park outside my booking , I have a Blue badge but it seems people can park where ever not room related.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location, have stayed there before but seems to be going downhill.
Cons: Used to enjoy continental breakfast but that has been cancelled. Room 12, very little hot water in shower, tile missing in bathroom, workmen's wires left on wall (they were working on fire alarm when I walked in Wednesday - it would have been nice if I had been informed of this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location very clean
Cons: No breakfast facilities a cafe some distance away but didn't open until 9
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed linen and towels were good quality and very clean. Room was a good size with a nice big window and we were able to open the windows for fresh air.
Cons: The overall decor and cleanliness was below par and it could really do with a big overhaul and it would improve the visit massively.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is good. Rooms reasonable size, warm & clean. Our room had patio area outside, which I imagine in warmer weather could be appreciated. Bathroom good size with a good shower. Property does not have dinning room so for breakfast, lunch & dinner you need to leave hotel. There is an Italian restaurant next door which is reasonable, but if you take a stroll to Roydon station there is a lovely restaurant called Just ... at the station. We had dinner and Sunday brunch there. So can highly recommend.

Pros: Room was comfortable and clean and met expectations. The staff were efficient and helpful during the uncertain rule changes due to the virus. Close to airport and easy to get the shuttle although it only came once an hour.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The continental breakfast starting at 4AM.
Cons: The bus price is not included in the price of the hotel. The bus only takes cash. Also, the lady bus driver early in the morning was extremely rude. She would not allow coffee cups on the bus and talked down to my wife and I and patronized other guests.
6.0 Good
Pros: I was not at the hotel due to quarantine (COVID-19). Connection with the COVID-19 money was returned. By remote correspondence communications with the staff / administrator was helpful and answered any questions I might have. I will definitely choose this hotel when I go to the UK (London).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, understanding and helpful. Scary times, although before the lockdown, staff were bravely smiling and welcoming stranded travellers. All questions answered, taxi booked for me and just very nice human beings and professional.
Cons: Not the hotels fault, but due to the Corona Virus and Government regulations the buffet breakfast was cancelled, this was very disappointing because breakfast was included and having stayed before I can tell you it is a very good breakfast! I did, however, get a croissant, muffins & apple (to go) so in these new times of difficulty I was grateful to still get something.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Comfortable enough single bed.
Cons: The price. Expensive. The location (taxi fares were ludicrously priced) The bathroom smell would turn anyone's stomach. The shower head holder was broken so very awkward to shower. Arrived late. No reception, door key in an envelope.
6.5 Good
Pros: Nothing special. A bit dirty. Had to have the window open because it was so hot, but when i got there the window was already open. I would consider staying again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great, cheap and located near the airport !
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The decor was nice.
Cons: The receptionist was very rude (although I only spoke to him on the phone, as he wasn't there), the TV was still on when I entered my room, the mirror in the bathroom was dirty and water was dripping from the showerhead, the room was cold and the WiFi didn't work.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Tough conditions at the moment due to COVID. Room OK, but owner/manager very friendly and arrange access to a fridge for vaccines I was carrying.
Cons: No lift and narrow staircase to 2nd floor which was hard with suitcase.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel is located close to Stansted airport BUT...
Cons: DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL or DeSalis. I have given fair (good) reviews to most of the hotels where I have stayed in the past. My reviews can be seen in Agoda, Booking, Kayak and I am a Platinum member with Marriott hotels. What did I not like about this hotel? I encountered the rudest and most disrespectful staff I've ever dealt with. As soon as I walked in the guy at the front desk yelled at my girlfriend and I for leaving the car parked (momentarily) in the only area available (we did this to confirm that we had a room before unloading our suitcases) If you're driving, bear in mind that the hotel has two decent parking spots, otherwise you'll end up leaving your car in the back of the building which seems dark and unsafe. The guy then said that he didn't see our reservation and sent us to a DIFFERENT HOTEL without even apologizing for the ordeal. The new hotel was called DeSalis and it was OK at first sight but we were given a nasty and old room in the back of the building. The room smelled like and old and humid warehouse. The bed was uncomfortable and you had to hold the shower with one hand as it wasn't attached to the wall. Further, we were told the restaurant closed at 11pm but we showed up at 10.35pm and they said that the kitchen was closed. Bear in mind that the closest restaurant is 15 minutes away from DeSalis. Outcome? We ate chips and drank cheap wine at 11.30pm in our nasty and uncomfortable room after driving 4 hours from Manchester. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had not with one but two hotels. I am sure other people have enjoyed their stays but I hope you guys keep in mind my comments if you want to avoid being THAT couple that doesn't their last night in such a lovely country! I want to leave on a good note so I will once again mention that both hotels are less than 8 minutes away from the aiport.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Room should have been cleaned thoroughly before we arrived, but the room was cleaner when we left as due to COVID-19 we made sure the room was sterilized before we went to sleep.

7.0 Good
Pros: Near the airport.
Cons: Not many choices for food around.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were quick to help
Cons: Pull out bed wasn't the best and had no sheets.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Room was very nice.
Cons: By public transport it was a bit awkward to get to and by taxi it was ridiculously expensive. I didnt like the fact that it appeared that the front entrance was flanked by laundry bins etc.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No real blanket. The “blanket” was as thin as a napkin, like blankets in warm countries. It was very cold, I used towels to keep warm. I was too tiered to complain.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nice staff doing their best.
Cons: Dirty net curtains with cigarette holes in them. Absolutely unforgiveable neglect of basic needs of acceptable decor. Disrespect for customers. Contempt almost.
6.2 Good
Pros: Good location if you have to fly out of Stansted the following morning, girl on front desk very helpful and pleasent.
Cons: No eating facilites, ate in the Ramada next door which was very poor, very much a one night necessity stay hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the staff. They gave me warm welcome and farewell, not forgetting to give very useful info in a few words. My room and bed were wider than expected. Very clean. A warm environment with one large radiator. Reception is opened to eat and drink at any time overnight. Very quiet, with only a mild disturbance from the roar of airplane engines.
Cons: The hotel is perfect. Unfortunately, I needed a taxi to arrive at the hotel which is behind a large petrol station. Taxi is expensive (£17 each journey, lasting 10-15 mins). I regret to say that, for £34 more, I am considering to stay at any hotel close to the airport for the next time. Perhaps, renting a car would be a cheaper option than a taxi.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Shower was good.

Cons: Be careful when paying ! I have been charged twice and they have denied a payment being received ! Bank statements don’t lie !!! Unbelievable as they take payment at reception upon arrival (added £50 per head for room service or bar) and the balance for food etc to be paid at check out ! Ongoing saga !!!

Pros: Very helpful staff and lovely property. Well kept grounds and dog friendly. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Reception being renovated so computers and printers slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was amazing and so was the Espresso Martini that we had as pre-dinner drink.
Cons: I don't think there is anything that i could find fault with during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Annual visit for work and always the same high standard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is close to Stanstead airport, but in a quiet location. Used the hotel after Friday evening flight was cancelled and I had to stay over until another flight was available on the Saturday morning. It allowed maximum time to rest prior to early morning departure.
Cons: Due to early start it was not possible to have breakfast at the hotel, but as it was booked via booking.com it was not possible to revide booking to room only!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room Setting Coffee Breakfast
Cons: Miscommunication between the hotel and Kayak leading to confusion about the fee. Same but between the restaurant and reception leading to confusion about whether I had paid for breakfast or not

Pros: Large clean room and bathroom. Beautiful grounds. Our room had French doors looking out at a lovely green space. The restaurant was very nice. The food and service were both excellent. My husband had a huge, beautifully cooked, hamburger. Breakfast was very good as well. We were on our way out of the country and it was a relaxing break in traveling. All the staff was friendly and helpful. would stay again!
5.0 Okay
Pros: We have stayed here before and like the location and layout of the Hotel.
Cons: We paid for a superior double room with an extra large double bed. However in room 2 of the stable block is just a standard double bed. The pillows were also very uncomfortable to lay on as were fairly hard. We have stayed in the outside rooms of the stable block before and had a perfect stay however this time it was not so great unfortunately. The room was also pretty small which did not seem right when paying for a superior room. When checking in there was only one member of staff on reception who was also working in the restaurant and therefore had to phone the hotel in order to get checked in. I did try to phone reception once I saw the room however after trying several times I could not get through.

Pros: our stay at the hotel was lovely, only thing would say was that the noise of the traffic outside our room was very loud from the early hours :(
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. The room was comfortable, and bathroom clean, tea and coffee facilities good with extra if required.
Cons: The access door at the rear was almost impossible to open, we spent ages trying to gain access to our room once we returned. We again had problems when returning after Breakfast. The shower door was jammed, it had dropped and we had to lift it to get it to open.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The size of the room is pretty much the only thing that was good. The food is home made and pretty good but beware of hair.
Cons: Front desk was anxty and relatively unfriendly. Cleaner was forcefull and hard to get through. The whole room had a strong smell of bleach and had some trash in it in the corner. Bed was ok, no hair fan. The room itself looked like a relic of the 1970's . The location is far from any shops.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing it's a rat pit
Cons: It is a £30.00 taxi ride from the airport 5.4 km not 2.6 as advertised
6.0 Good
Pros: Parking easily
Cons: Facility need to be upgraded
6.5 Good
Pros: Airport shuttle was convenient.
Cons: It was satisfactory.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: Very well located (4min by car from Stansted) and that is the only good plus. When I arrived at the hotel I literally had to call reception so someone could come and see me there as I wanted to check in...I had the same issue on check out, frustrating as I had to go to the airport. There's barely someone in reception and it should be 24/7. The room was super hot which made it difficult for me to sleep. Uncomfortable bed for the price payed. Racist staff. I wanted to enjoy the sun sitting outside with my sister and had to listen to racist comments coming from some members that work in that place. Very sad event in the XXI Century. The day staff was fairly better. Regardless.... overall bad experience.
1.0 Poor
Cons: The place is filthy! Mould on the windows and throughout the bathroom. A dirty hair bobble complete with someone’s hair still in it left on the door handle. Holes in the walls, stained carpet. I looked at the bathroom radiator and felt sick there was that much dirt in it. Dirt and spiders webs around the toilet. I felt cleaner before I stayed here than after it. Stains on the wall in the lounge area the place is horrendous. Had to stay here awaiting a work flight in the Covid pandemic as it was one of the only hotels open otherwise would have just left. Utterly filthy!
6.0 Good
Pros: I booked a room for 1 night for my son to stay. I paid extra £ 8.50 for breakfast. Although from the hotel didn't allow him to have breakfast.
Cons: Nothing for breakfast at all if you will not go very early in the morning. No matter if you pay for it, without any excuse from the hotel.

Pros: It was conveniently located to stansted.
Cons: It was cold, the checkin was self check-in but the lady didn't send me the code. My phone was nearly dead thank god someone was there so I could get in or I would have had to sleep outside.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Close to the airport and very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place. The room was warm, comfortable. It was no problem with a warm water, big shower room, comfortable bed, The hostess is very friendly, left different things to eat:porridge, noodles, cakes (for 1 £) that was very useful as there aren’t any bars and restaurants. Especially this place is nice in springtime and summertime. A cute cat met us and followed to reception. We spent there two nights. But to get to London you need transfer (7£) and bus (7-9 £) or train (19£).
Cons: Nothing to say, only thanks Susan.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: great place. Stayed mid-storm but walls were so thick and heating so good had a great sleep. Only issue was finding the location could be better signed
Cons: everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully decorated, with lots of amenities, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean accommodation, pretty luxury. Super close to airport - getting there and back was a breeze. Friendly owner, warm shower, comfy beds
Cons: Some vegan breakfast porridge pots would be great. Also some of the food stuff was out of date and the internet was broken when we stayed (quite an important thing when travelling and don’t have SIM cards for England).
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff - great people. And they gave me a ride to the airport (paid). They did their best to chnge us the room.
Cons: They have pets (big dogs) and the smell is everywhere. Despite we've been confirmed a queen size bed, we had to change the room for a 2 beds one because of the stong smell. It was a crazy windy day and the door was not closing properly, so really cold despite the heating was on.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was in a great location to Stansted. Nice touch to have food and drink items to purchase in the room. Beds comfortable. Clean and tidy. Su was really helpful and was on hand for all of my questions.
Cons: Everything was great, but it was really cold when we arrived so it took a while to heat up the room. Cosy once we had put heating on for a while though. In winter, maybe put heating on before guests arrive to take the edge off.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very near to Stansted Airport. No aircraft noise and quiet location. Continental breakfast more than adequate.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a water main burst in close proximatey to The Willows which had the obvious outcome - no water!! (Not the fault of the owners!)
7.3 Good
Pros: People are very friendly and nice, the room is warmly decorated and very neat and tidy. The bathroom is nice too, it has a good shower.
Cons: they only make transfers from the guest house to the stansted airport, but not the other way round, so it costs about 7 pounds to get from stansted airport to there.

7.6 Good
Pros: We used The Willows for overnight accommodation before a flight from Stansted. Despite the proximity to the airport it was very peaceful. Pros: Lovely location and pub. Good evening meal. Welcoming staff with new manager/owner who had only been there for three days! Once management is settled it will be more comfortable for a B&B stay.
Cons: Rooms need upgrading. No chairs. As there was a new owner, the chef facilities for breakfast had not been organised, so we were given a basic cereal and fruit breakfast with croissant, the previous evening.

Pros: The room was spotlessly clean and very good value for money. Pretty surroundings.
7.1 Good
Pros: Dog friendly. A lot of tee and coffee bags :) free parking. Close to the airport.

Pros: Breakfast , room and bed and all round experience
Cons: Can’t say I didn’t like anything

5.0 Okay
