very much The Staff
My wife and I were on a 26 day budget trip from La Paz to Rio and our stay at your hotel was a one day try for luxury. We particularly enjoyed having functional air conditioning and the included breakfast was wonderful The elevator service was quite slow for such a nice hotel.
Junior Suite is comfortable (except ridiculously small bathroom). The bathroom was the smallest I ever experienced and this in spite of a Junior suite type accomodation! Breakfast very disappointing for this level hotel. Noise from street quite strong. Swimmingpool badly organised with unpleasant pool attendant.
5 min by car to Copacabana or 20 min by foot, good hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff breakfast is the same everyday
Everything was great.
very helpful staff, wonderful view of the Christ Statue, two minutes to the metro, huge room and enormous comfortable bed
Nice staff, very good breakfast, good location, not far from public transportation.
Dirty carpeting, location seems good on map but not much within walking distance
Great Service! Great restaurant MEE! Cesar with guest relations made us feel so welcome. Would definitly recommend this hotel. I look forwardto staying at other Belmond properties in the future.
Location is fantastic, unique experience to stay at a hotel which forms part of the Brazilian history. Luxury but with good taste. To wake up, open the windows and see all of Copacabana is incredible!
Excellent location on Copacabana Beach. Minutes by taxi to Sugar Loaf, Ipenema and plenty of graet shopping along sidewalks and indoor malls.
Awesome location across from the beach. The rooms and facilities are excellent. The staff are very helpful .. The pool area is in shade most of the day. However the water is slightly heated. We ate at Wee which was disappointing. The food and service were just OK. I ordered Pad Thai. Having just returned from Thailand - this was a poor substitute.
Customer Service, Izabel reception Manager is very efficient and helpful.
This hotel is uber-glam! The building is stunning and the rooms are both large and elegant. The people watching here is primo. In addition, the staff (especially the concierges) are some of the best I have ever worked with. I would highly recommend splurging on this hotel to make your stay in Rio unforgettable.
realy nice staff , thanks ! the famous restaurant "cipriani" seve food warm up again !
Beautiful. There is no bar or restaurant in the main building. Needs more.
Being given complimentary champagne for our honeymoon!! The pool, the food, the amazing bar, and the friendly, courteous staff.
Happiness, friendliness and helfullness of staff and their commitment to service Attrractive environemtn of hotel and surrounds. Convneinece to cultural locations.
The staff were exceptional - friendly, highly responsive to all requests, fluently multi-lingual. Although the website had promised a gym or fitness room, there is no such facility: only a spa for massage and facials and similar treatments. The location in Sta Theresa is interesting for a couple of days but not the most convenient for longer.
Outstanding staff who went out of their way to help us find great restaurants and make our stay comfortable. All reception and restaurant staff spoke great English. Our deluxe room was absolutely beautiful with a comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom. We had housekeeping come into our room without knocking once. Otherwise, no problems at all.
The public rooms were very impressive and definitely had the 'wow' factor going on. The terrace and bar were great places to hang out and while away a few hours. I would recommend the hotel for these things alone. There was no directory in the room which explained the facilities and how the tv worked. Also coffee was on offer on the room service menu but when requested I was told to go down to the bar. The loo was not fixed to the floor and wobbled quite significantly (rather disconcerting) and there was no cold water in my room on arrival so I had to have an extremely hot shower.
Excellent staff, front desk superb. Rooms are lovely and Santa Teresa is much more interesting than the beach areas eg Ipanema. The restaurant, food was good but service poor and very expensive
I liked the rooftop area and the pool. There was a great view of Copacabana Beach. The buffet breakfast was very good. The location was great, close to Rio Sul mall and the beach. The room was very basic and small, for the price we paid I was expecting more and I was also expecting it to be more updated. There was mold on the wall, it was very dark.
The reception staff was very helpful Hotel Taxi was unreasonable, secondly, the booking was bad very bad upon arrival at the hotel we were told that our booking was not on the system because the hotell notified booking.com 5 months ago that they were no longer accepting bookings, you can imagine after travelling for more than 12 000 kilometres only to be told that you are not booked at a hotel despite you having a confirmation from b
Whern I arrived there was no booking from Booking.com. Luckily they had a room which I was able to take. I had my printed confirmation, they had no record of the internet booking.
Quiet, comfortable rooms, very nice and helpful staff
The hotel service is very professional and efficient. The staff always in good mood and ready to help The bureaucracy to receive visitors in the room (my kids, for instance) is excessive, taking long time and disencourage us to do it
Great accommodations, very good breakfast, and excellent location. Front of hotel is right on the main avenue but didn't have enough space to pull in with our car to unload luggage and people.
Location was very good. Hot water was really good, not like some other hotels where you only have war bathroom, not hot bathroom. Breakfast choice was plenty and fresh fruit juices were tasty. Furniture is very outdated. Walls are like paper, there is no sound proof. Rooms are dark.
Far to expensive for what it is
Internet availble, nice view over the Pao de Azucar
The staff was very kind, good breakfast buffet, good location - close to underground station; the room was extremely large and had nice view. Although we received an upgrade for the room we paid, the bed and furniture was in old and poor condition, the windows did not offer proper sound proofing.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. View from the bay side is very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good. Location was great for me, but the streets around the hotel are not for every one. A little dodgy at night. If you want to feel the real city, this is a good location. The staff are not nice, and sometimes even missleading. We were told that the train to Corcovado was open, when it was actually closed.
Location No Wireless internet in rooms. Took about 20 mins to check in
Excellent location, helpful staff Hotel was under renovation during visit; moderately high street noise
breakfast the room
The location adn view. Not a tourist place
Terrific access to Metro; terrific restaurant around the corner: the meal was charged based on the weight of the food chosen (sorry, can't remember name). We got a single bowl of soup from the buffet, and although it did not cost as much as the buffet, we were charged 50% of the price of the buffet. We were definitely overcharged for this.
staff were helpful and location ideal for my trip The room had insects crwaling over the worktops and the aircon was very noisy and not very effective and the controls were loose. My colleague however, had a room on the 11th floor, which I visited which was good
I found a cockroach in the room, walking on my suitcase!
the room was ok but there were some work in progress on the facade. For this reason, the view from the room was not so nice
Room was large, bed was huge. We only stayed for one night and the hotel was fine for that but more of a business hotel than a holiday hotel I think. Bed was on the hard side.
central location for business purposes front desk staff might just try to be a bit happier, they gave me a correct service but the level of friendliness could be higher
Roof top pool, very clean, brilliant breakfast. Expensive Internet, blocked toilet.
Toilets had uncomfortable square seats, and both I used were blocked - pretty shoddy design. The buffet dinner was over-priced and under-quality - not good value at all. A few days after making the online booking, I received an email to say my credit card had not been accepted, so I supplied a new card. Yet the very next day the initial card was charged, which made me very wary of a double charge as I cannot check the 2nd card online. This is very shoddy by both the hotel and your website.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain.
Reasonabal hotel.Staff were helpful. Not a good location if you are on holiday.£20-25 round trip in a cab to Copacabana or Ipenema.Rooms were a bit gloomy.
I enjoyed the moments using the facilities and comodities inside the rom and building. I suggest the menu can be changed every day..and more natural juice can be served there
The rooms were very clean and equipped with cable, the pool terrace was very pleasant and the staff were very friendly. It was a good option during carnaval time because it was close to the sambadrome and it was less expensive than staying in Copacabana or Ipanema. The staff could have been better informed about events during Carnaval. Everyone was very frieldy and I understand that because the hotel in downtown, it probably usually only services business people outside carnaval time, but we wanted to see some other sights in the city and they were not always well informed. They could also offer a wider range of tours.
Location, right in front Copacabana beach. The building and rooms are old, and I expected more luxury for their charges, but Rio is entirely under reform for the World Cup 2014...
Tim Angela like urine. Beds are horrible with plastic sheets. Noisy renovations all day.
Great room, great locations and friendly staff
Staff people were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great The room was superficially cleaned.
Front desk staff and duty manager were very helpful and courteous, as well as professional. I asked for the upgrade to an Ocean View suite and was given a nice spacious suite at not a high supplement. Location is good, with Copacabana beach right outside, at a quieter end. Well-known and popular upmarket seafood restaurant Marius is nearby. Room service breakfast was charged additionally, even though breakfast was included in my rate through booking.com
Close to Copacabana beach was a plus with great views of the beach, seaview, etc. Noise from the main road outside the hotel was a slight problem at night. Hotel was not that well appointed.
Excellent position on the beachfront and not in the most busy part, beautifull view from the room, cross the street and you are on the beach, easy trip to Sugarloaf mountain, you can hire the bike and have a nice ride along the Copacabana and Ipanema beach basic comfort for money you pay, but you pay for the view, be cautious, when changing money at the reception
Position, big rooms, sea view
Enjoyed the large room and clean environment. 1. The hotel receiption staff found it difficult to communicate in English. 2. Asked for a early morning wake up call. Which we did not receive.
Location is acceptable, good breakfast. poor room for the price. we had room 519.
The very friendly and good manners of your pesonnel in the reception
The staff was very friendly, it was clean and 1 block from the beach. I would stay there again.
Very friendly/helpful staff. Great location.
The Hotel was very nice, and the staff where very friendly
The excellant hospitality and ambience none
Great location in Copacabana, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Rooms are small but have everything you need. The wireless is sometimes too weak in the rooms.
Hotel facilities, care of personnel for the guests, quality of the rooms were all very good. Location of the hotel is convenient. Close to the beach, yet off the busy Av. de Atlantica and close to the metro. no
It was a nice hotel, the size of the room was pretty big, the location and the swimming pool on the roof were great. Staff is very nice. There was a terrible smell in the room, the AC in the lobby was really too strong
It's near to Copacabana beach. You can borrow a towel for the beach at the reception desk. I booked a Luxury room, I do not want to know how look like the Standard ones. I was really disappointed by the hotel and the services.
The hotel is good located and staff is friendly. I was on 11th floor but still little bit noisy.
Rooms were very nice and clean...breakfast was wonderful!
The location right next to the beach is perfect, and the view from the top terrace bar at the 16th floor is absoluty amazing When I checked in, they tried to charged a higher amount then the rate I got at booking.com. I was there with a friend, and they gave me some crap about the reservation only was for one person, although it was for two people. After showing them the receipt where it said clearly that it was booked for two people, I got the right price.
Excelente location, very good breakfast Room was small
Excellent breakfast, good location, comfortable.
Restaurant food was very good and well priced. Wireless internet was good. I would like more comfortable and updated facilities in room
The staff were very accomodating. I thought the room furnishings and bed were not up to standards that I expected.
Location , Staff, great breakfast, Very accommodating and honest staff. Roof top observation for the new year fire works display Room was located between elevator and utility room, so we heard noise at night. Note this was a room we paid 600.00$ a night for.
Great Pool.....good breakfast Few rooms with view to the ocean
Hotel is close to the beach. It was built very luxury, but time started taking its own.
Situated in a nice, safe area on Copacaban Beach close to Ipanema, this is a good quality hotel
Scarcly furnished room, really not a 4 star hotel, more like a European 2-3 star. Scummy carpet in the hallways and breakfast room, tile floors, bathroom OK, and very loud room due to the fact that the windows are old single pane facing forward to the Copacabana side. Nice view though ;) see above
Free Internet connection - excellent breakfast buffet - staff very helpful and kind. Maintenance overdue - (i.e. sink tap loosely mounted, windows poorly closing, elevetor not funtioning) - Noise in the room from traffic in the street and poor isolation of the windows
Location is great. Reception Staff and Doorman helped us a lot on any problem. Service is also very good in comparion with the other hotels around the area. Communication is a big problem. All the staff should speak english. Rooms need renovation.
i was robed on the beach at the hotel while sitting in a hotel chair
Good location - a small hotel compared with others in Rio. Very strict on departure times, unless you are willing to pay a supplement.
Very nice staff
lifts are excellent and fast. breakfast was always very good. ALL the staff (really all of them) were always very courteous and i felt all my belonging were safe. when i stay in other hotels i always take my passport and wallet out with me, i dont even trust the safes; not here. even when i moved rooms, the staff brought things i forgot to my new room. excellent wifi internet facility. first room i stayed in on the 12th floor was too noisy from the machinery/swimming pool engine/airconditioner. got moved to the 10th floor which was better, but windows facing the beach had restricted stay which limited the views one could get. and the walls felt i tad thin. i could easily hear people in the corridor and coughing from the other room.
the safety and well management of the reception the way waiters asks you when in ur way to breakfast about ur room number??
Bed was comfortable, breakfast was pretty comprehensive. Nothing else worthy of comment. Hotel is clean and I suppose nice, but for the price paid, it is considered overated and a rip off. Rooms are wood everywhere and coulurs used are a sad blend of same shades. so it feels like your sleeping in a wooden box, Bathroom was small and also no bathrobes incuded, which for a superior double is not the same as other copacabana hotels. Ok for one night passing through, but definetely not a family or long stay venue, Roof top bar is also bad as well. Worth a miss this one unless your stuck which I was.
I enjoyed my stay very much and found that everything was comparable to what you would expect from an International Hotel I only stayed for one night so there was no time for likes or dislikes. However I must say that the Breakfast was excellent.
The manager was helpful, fair and considerate. The hotel and your website did not advise me in advance of a policy against having guests in the room.
Just a breakfast was good. Many different fruit Hotel really poor. Rooms unbealivble small, like a toilet. Very noisy
The room and the view over copacobana beach was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful
nothing i stayed at room 1136 which is exactly beside elevator! It's very small. Bathroom very small and dirty, just try to look at the ceiling. I don't know about other rooms, but i wouldn't stay again at a standard double room (which i booked through this site)
location noise, enormous, little acoustic insulation between rooms and to the outside street.
Unfortunately I lost my iphone on 14th November at the Golden Tulip Hotel. Please contact me if this has been found on firstname.lastname@example.org.
The staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean. The hotel was also located in a very safe and secure area of Copa which is Leme but only 5 minutes walk to good locations in Copa. Also, the pool on the rooftop offered a spectacualr view of Copa. My room was to be an ocean view room but I only had a 18"X18" window that was not the best view in the world.
Great location Horrible service Dirty rooms Bugs Unstable Internet
Each staff member was professional and very accommodating!
Very close to the beach, nice view at the top.
Room size and location The room was a bit dated and the hallways, as well as the room had an unpleasant odor.
quite area and one block from beach
Perfectly located in a safe area one street back from Copacabana beach, but literally 1 minute walk to the sand. Staff very helpful, fluent english and really wanted us to enjoy Carnaval in Rio.
Everything! The room was awesome, the view was amazing, the food was so so good! Best of all, the staff were lovely - the nicest staff in any hotel in any country I've been in. They did everything they could to help me, which is even more impressive as I don't speak Portuguese and they still went out of their way to make sure everything was good. No - everything was perfect, I wish every hotel was like this!
I cannot say enough about how wonderfull our stay was at this hotel. It is so amazing! The view is the best and the rooms WOW! We were so well taken care of by Ben. I will tell everyone they must come and visit! Thanks so much for making our visit so great!!! It was great can't really find something that we did not like.
Everything was perfect. The staff does not ask you if everything is ok they ask is it perfect and it was. The view is unmatched and rooms are like no other hotel, all individually designed each with a different feel. The food was wonderful and the staff is top notch and did everything to our liking during our stay. The place is absolutly stunning from the outside especially at night.
I have to say that my stay at 180 Degrees Suites and Cuisine was outstanding. Christophe (the owner) and Patricia (general manager) were both outstandingly attentive, kind, professional, and responsive. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to leave so soon! I intend to recommend Christophe's lovely set of suites to any and all friends traveling to Rio. Skip Copacabana/Ipanema, this is the place to stay. The only slight caveat I'd mention is the taxi service. By staying here, you need to be aware that it can take 20 - 30 minutes to get a taxi to come pick you up, although it did take 10-15 minutes on one or two occasions as well.
the vew was very good
The staff were very friendly and the hotel gave amazing views of Rio. The rooms are very luxurious and it was very relaxing. We only stayed for a night, but if you were to stay for a long period of time you are a taxi distance away from the rest of Rio's tourist activities and cafe's/beaches which could work out costly over a long period.
View from Rio 180 was great. Staffs/owner at this hotel were nice and very helpful. We stayed in Room "Ipanema" that were spacious and stylized. At night, the neighborhood was very quite. If everything in the room is working and well-maintained, it is nearly a 5-star room. For people who have sleeping problems, this is a better place than any hotel in copacabana and ipanema area. Cleanliness and maintainance are the main issues that should be considered when booking a room. Our bed sheet was not clean and did have some hair on it. Several things in the room were broken. Not sure if they have daily room service because our room was not cleaned during the two-night stay. This "hotel" indeed needs to be managed better. It has been designed to be luxury but was more like a bed and breakfast inn now. We enjoyed our stay only because we had minimum expectations (view and spacious/stylized room) and because the staffs were super nice to us. If you excepted more, this won't be a good choice for you.
The room was clean and beautiful with attractive decor and an amazing hot tub inside the room! The pool was right outside the room and secluded and quiet. The views were stunning - panoramic sights of the entire city. The breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, juices, breads, cheeses and meats. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and attentive. A short walk to the beautiful Santa Teresa and a short taxi trip into the main city. Beautiful! Everything was great!
Homely and personal in very designer chic surroundings. Views were stunning. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We did not have a daily maid service though this was not important for a 2 night stay. Situated away from the centre of Santa Theresa so either a very long walk to get anywhere or a taxi are essential. The panorama more than makes up for this though.
Excellent situation for those who wish to escape the noise and hassle of the beaches - most appreciated warm welcome by the owner - this is not a hotel, but feels like a friend's guest house with all modern comfort none
This hotel was very accommodating and made it easy to plan day trips, activities etc. free breakfast in the morning was very good. Very friendly staff. Excellent location
I would like to stress the staff, specially Miss Larissa at the Reception (very attentive and competent) and Miss Mari (Supervisor) both of them are very capable professionals. Hotel is absolutely the best pick by Ipanema-Leblon beaches-seaside in Rio de Janeiro. Safety (My vault was violated).
Concierge Rooms and front desk staff.
I did not like it!! The hotel is completely overpriced! Reduce the price so it's consistent with the facilities and service you offer! The hotel, the breakfast, the minibar, the laudry is completely overpriced. You tried to cheat my on the breakfast by charging 20 BRL extra on an already expensive breakfast. When I asked why the guy said it was because of the cheese. So I asked him to remove it and come back with the cheese that was included in the price. And guess what - he came back with exactly the same cheese and a bill that was reduced from 85 BRL to 65 BRL! The water in the roomcost 19 BRL! My company pays the bills for me but I still care about the cost. The only luxurious thing about Caesar Park is the prices. Bad bed, stained carpets and noisy ariconditioning is not luxury.
Nothing..... Bad service, extremely expensiv,
The location was fantastic, just in front of the beach and had people taking care of you on the beach as well. The price was a little bit high I would say but in accordance with Rio's standards.
Because of the problem as below, they gave us a glorious suite on the 15th floor overlooking the sea for the 3 days and made the bathroom work for me (in a wheelchair) as best they could. Very upset the hotel did not recognise our disabled oceanfront room as booked and confirmed through you. A disabled room became available on the 2nd day but we refused it as it looked on to a brick wall.
Nothing My impression f this hotel is that yhe rooms are for hire hourly. They did not seem to understand the term forward booking. The rooms were not only rundown but dirty, with blood on one of the bedspreads and dirty towels in bathroom. i saw at least 2 other customers ask for refunds, in fact one woman went up in lift and returned immediately to leave. Whilst waiting for my refund for myself and family, a lady brought a man in and booked for 2hrs.
It´s very close to Santos Dumenot Airport (less than 5 minutes walking). It has a good breakfast included in the room´s rate. The carpet in the corridors smell a little bad. The internet is quite expensive.
breakfast was very good. Good location to stay near down town Air conditioning didn ´t work at all. No hot water in the shower.
Very clean, downtown location. Everything very, very old!Furniture, beds, absolutely everything.Even my fridge doors fell down when I wanted to open this!!!!!!
Não gostei e fui para outro hotel As acomodações não saõ dignas de um othon.
Disposition of the staff for service Tha chair and the desk in the room.
views of rio from windows toilet wouldn´t flush, and hot water cut off in middle of having a shower
view from rooms at the front nothing worked.we changed rooms 5 times broken loo, water cut off in shower during a shower, broken aircon.
Close to airport and city center.
The roof top pool is a lovely feature and the rooms were large and clean. The receptionists were at times abrupt and rude, although I think this may be due to their limited English skills. Despite the other reviews, I did not find the staff very knowledgeable at all. When I asked about the free internet they said that the wifi was free if you had your own computer as I did not they suggested I use another hotel's internet! Prior to arriving at the hotel, I emailed the hotel three times requesting a pick up from the airport. I am yet to receive a response.
The staff was very kind - late checkout was allowed even though the hotel seemed full. The hotel's furniture and general look is old fashioned. There is no parking for cars - we did not know that and had to pay for parking in a nearby hotel.
Nothing, I have stayed in this hotel for years many many times the Quality is down the service is bad and they are trying to cheat you any and each way is possibale, they give me the room that were the size of a box totaly unusual from the previous visit, will never stay there again. Everything I hated about this hotel.
We were upgraded! The hotel is in a good location and staff were helpful. It took nearly 15 minutes for the staff to get my car out of the hotel garage - it was obviously overcrowded and they had to bring about 7 cars outside before they could get to mine.
The fact that all was possible anytime, staff ready to help and friendly.
Good location for the money. Good breakfast buffet. Clean. Room was quite small but adequate for the pricing.
Walking distance from Copocabana, so that's attrative. However, not at top location. Hotel rather simple (tough lcd tv in room), breakfast not the best and simple accomodation.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The road outside is very noisy so if you are a sensitive sleeper, don't choose this hotel. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was not perfect and the bed was squeaky. The breakfast wasn't very nice. All in all this is a pretty dated hotel but fine if you are not spending much time there.
Staff very pleasant and spoke English well. Room very comfortable and clean with good air conditioning. Enjoyed rooftop pooldeck and views. Very convenient to metro station.
Very good location for city cultural visit (not beaches), excellent room, helpful staff and several spoke English, all at a good price. It was a much better deal via booking.com than direct booking or others and my credit card was not charged until departure. A wholly positive experience.
Staying in the center of the city was an excellent choice, and being near the subway and Theatre Municipal was handy. The neighborhood remains a bit gritty and caution is required in the evening, except at nearby cafes that spill out into the street.
service, comfort, location free internet
Location is very convenient for the "centro" (downtown) area. Not too large hotel, so faster check-in and check-out. Good room size with comfortable working desk. Newly renovated, evrything very clean. Good restaurant with reasonable prices and fast room service. Only black spot is poor Internet service. The per-minute option gets disconnecting and is terribly slow. The per-day option is also very slow. Difficult to understand since they are charging for it. I purt a complaint on 2 previous stays, but it has not improved. They told me that they are planning to change provider around October....
The hotel and rooms were very clean and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would've liked some free drinking water (minibar was bit expensive). Elevator is noisy. Rooms are far from being sound-proof but there's not too much noise anyway. Rooms are also a bit small. Hotel taxi costed more than regular taxis.
pillows were too thin
Staff prompt to serve and willing to help, also very knowledgeable about getting around the city by any mean of transportation. On requests, specify what you wish and they eill be sure you'll get what you order to the detail (off course upon availability).
the location, the services/facilities and the hotel staff
Good service. Attention of the staff. Lack of parking
It is a great location It was extremly expensive for what you offer. Just an average room for a very high price.
The rooftop pool has excellent views of the beach and the breakfast was great! The room was a bit small and the bath very small given the price paid.
Friendly staff, beautiful views from balconies, rooftop pool, and gym. Good food, reasonable prices, great bar service at pool. The rooms were slightly disappointing, but still reasonably priced. Maid service may have skimped on certain things, but overall staff was very respectful and attentive (even if there were some language barriers).
The reception staff were excellent, especially their English, were always ready to offer assistance and provided us with lots of local information and recommendations. The view from our room was magnificent.
It is right next to Copacabana Palace. It's on the main street, with access to Brazil's sites Service, they still have a lot of work there. The elevators are slow, and surprisingly stupid (on several occasions it would just pass my level without stopping, and I'm on the 18th floor). On several occasions I found them to lack resources to help with their quality of service.
Great location. Great view of Copocabana from balcony. Good room & breakfast. Lifts slow. Small bathroom.
Helpful staff, good location. In a city with many hotels of varying standards the Porto Bay Rio is a safe and comfortable choice. It rained!
The location of the hotel is very good and we had a large bedroom with a wonderful view over Copocabana beach
Very helpful and friendly staff. Outstanding breakfast buffet with gorgeous view! Very clean rooms. Great location to walk to the beach (hotel provides chairs, towels,etc.). Many nice restaurants in walking distance. Breathtaking bar on 20th floor. We felt always very safe! Can't think of anything!
The location was excellent for holiday atmosphere in close proximity to all the major sights. I particularly enjoyed the free use of the bicycle especially as the safe track was just across the road. Cycling the length of Copacabana beach was a holiday highlight for me! Nobody back at work will believe I did it! I was disapointed there was not coffee-making facilities in the room - especially being in Brazil! It would also have been handy for an iron to be provided in room.
The hotel was clean modern, amazing staff and just perfect. We would highly recommend this hotel and I would go back if returning to Rio. We overlooked the Copacabana beach from our room, which was beautiful. Our room was stunning and so clean.
Helpful and english speaking front desk. Magnificent location and view on the Copacabana beach. Good breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and new. Nothing at all.
The staff of the hotel was great, especially Mr. Mario Rene from reception. the stars assigned to hotels in Rio de Janeiro should be reviewed. In general, a 4 stars hotel in Rio is equivalent to a 3-star hotel in europe and this hotel is no exception.
For the value of my money, this was perfect hotel. It was clean, great location ( Copacabana, Metro and restaurants). The staff was polite (Vinnie, Amanda and Rene were remarkable). I found the mattress a bit uncomfortable, but not intolerable.
Good breakfast, city tours, good airconditioning Poor internet connectivity...the connection was breaking up
Excellent location in Copacabana. Very helpful staff - front desk, restaurant in particular Watch out for the weekend groups from Uruguay in Friday out Sunday they take over the pool area and adjacent areas on 14th floor - very noisy!
I liked the service the staff provided. I can't remember the guys name at the front desk. He was really nice and spoke 34 different languages which is a plus. The elevators, to small.
Wifi was reliable and breakfast/location were OK - about a 5 minute walk to the beach in a pretty decent and well lit neighborhood. For US travelers, this is very reminiscent of the highway motels you may have been to in the early 90s - cable TV on a faded CRT tube TV, weird controls for the lights, noisy wall air conditioning unit that sort-of worked and bathroom that's sketchy in every way possible - with a dripping shower to boot. Staff at checkin wasn't too interested in offering maps, directions, suggestions - felt very awkward having to pry some details out of them and all answers were one or two words. They were quite chatty about offering tours and doing currency exchange. At $250/night this is borderline criminal of an accommodation but they are cashing in on the Olympics.
Location is good Doesn't qualify as a 4 star hotel. I booked two luxury rooms and recieved 1 basic room and another room which was low level. The facilities are old and the room was not 100% clean. Before charging more than 100 dollars per night, they should take a close look at how a real luxury hotel looks like..
Location. The bedding was thread bear and dingy. They charge for ice. No iron.
I reviewed this hotel in full on my website, please check it out. Alistair Casey http://alistaircasey.com/blog/hotel-atlantico-copacabana
The hotel was what you would expect for the money. The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was good and there was a roof top pool We booked this hotel because they said that they had a airport shuttle service, they do not. The staff could have been more helpful and they charge 50c a minute for the internet.
THe air conditioning, the roof top pool and also the wide choice of television channels.
the location was good the room was dirty and dusty, , TV did not work, AC was broken too! had to change room. second room the toilets broke. The room service was terrible, it took 2 hours for the food to come and the food was aweful. The swimming pool had so much bleach that my shorts have bleach stains!
Breakfast is really nice. Paying for using internet. The roof terrasse is small, specially the pool and the service there for drinking something there was not available also towels etc.
Very central location & excellent value for money given where it's situated
Excellent location meant that Copacabana beach was just across the road the cleaner and more relaxed Ipanema beach was only a short stroll as was the General Osario metro stop. Fantastic view from rooftop pool. Reception staff very helpful and the pool barman knew how to mix a good capirinha ! Breakfast room was far too small with tables squashed together and some mornings we had to queue, very irritating!
Rooms were of high stndard, freindly staff and the pool affords an amazing view. At prices that won't destroy your wallet. Superb for reaching Copacabana or Ipanema The business centre had aome Internet terminla which were impossibly slow. I wasted time on these, got nothing done and was still charded.
top marks for location, staff and internet speed breakfast area is very crammed
The location was fantastic! The staff was quite friendly and they resolved all our problems quickly. The internet was not working in our room, they changed it in the same day. Great breakfast. The hotel has a taxi service which is not the same as the city taxi service and it is much more expensive. To go to the airoport with their service we payed double than would be using the street taxi.
Great location. The staff were very courteous and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast with many choices including local fruits. The restaurant had great option and the price was fair. Great value. The Standard rooms are bit small and the pool was small too.
The location of the hotel on the beachfront was great. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. The floor was not clean and this affected the overall impression of the hotel in total.
Excellent location, reasonable price, good choice of breakfast included in the price. Twe view of Copacabana Beach from the roof top podium was unbeleavable! We had a De-Luxe room and the view of Copacabana Beach & Sugerloaf mountain was excellent.Free internet, helpfull staff, most speak good English - how is your second language? Murky swimming pool water and mattresses are warn out and need changing. Two single beds pushed together do not make a good double bed... especially when you are feeling romantic :-)
The location, in between Copacabana and Ipanema, was excellent. The view from the roof was about as good as any in Rio and the service--from the front desk to the wait staff at breakfast--was impeccable. We would definitely stay at the Orla the next time we are in Rio. Nothing.
I enjoyed being so close to Copacabana beach and the view from the top of the hotel. The rooms are TINY, the pool is nasty (and also small) and too expensive.
Really beautifull view on Copacabana beach from the window. The best panorama from the pool on the top level.I sertainly recomend this hotel.
