There is effectively unlimited amount muesli with milk available during the breakfast. They are cheapest available non-free accomodation in Oxford.
It's a quite dirty and stinky place (despite the fact that the stuff does legit work cleaning it everyday). Beds are not the worst I've ever slept on, but generally quite bad. You will feel all movements of the person who sleeps under or above you. Also, they do not inform explicitly that if one pays in advance for several nights, then there is no option to resign from the part of the booking - once you've paid, you won't get any part of your money, even if you'll find your conditions terrible. One night I've returned to the bed I've been staying at, just to find that the stuff has located someone else into it, despite the fact that I've paid for that night for that bed on the earlier day. Such things just should not happen. Also, half of the rooms have windows directed towards loud street nearby, so if you are sensitive to sounds, it may be tough for you.
Staff were very helpful and polite.
We stayed in 4 bed mixed dorm. The hostel was walking distance from everything, had wifi, it was hot so they provided a fan in our room, basic breakfast but matchs the price i think, clean bathrooms and good shower. It was totally fine if youll be out and about a lot, if youve stayed in hostels before its as you would expect.
If they could just laminate a sheet with some General hostel information and put it in the rooms it would be really helpful. For example there is one lot of showers for women and one for men. They get cleaned during the day between 11 and 1. Fair enough it has to be cleaned but its annoying waiting around for the shower. If you had the information you could just plan your day a bit better. The member of staff on reception at the time could not have been more annoyed with me asking when the shower would be available. She really seemed to not want be asked any questions or be interacted with. Apart from that the other staff were great. At one point another member of staff walked into our room looking for a different guest and said we really need to keep the door locked. There was two of us and one was in the toilet so we kept the door on the latch as the rooms have keypads not keys. Thats fair enough if thats what they want too but would be good information to put up in the room just so both the guests and the staff know.
Cheap perfect location
