Convenient for the town centre, Staff helpful and friendly. Stunning location which you pay a high premium for as the rooms are quite basic. There is a small sun terrace which no one tells you about, definitely worth a visit. Do try the Ristorante Della Nonna which is a couple of minutes away. Great food, great owner and staff, great price. It's on Via S. Benedetto, 37/39. If the Grotto Restaurant was more realistically priced we would have used it. Around 250 Euros for the set meal + wine + cover charge etc is too steep.
Small room, but clean with window overlooking ocean. Good location.
The views from the room and the Cave restaurant below are stunning. We were attending a friends wedding at the hotel and decided to stay at the same hotel. The village is beautiful and the weather was outstanding. It was funny watching the people travel underneath the cave from the restaurant, often naked jumoing from the boats. The only person that we had to deal with was the receptionist, who I found was particularly unhelpful. His language and manners leave a lot to be desired. Trying to get hold of anything was a difficult experinece (such as an iron), as he was the only point of contact. Also, he tried to charge me nearly three times my actual bill total as I was checking out, and insisted that I had charged items to the room, when we have not actually eaten at the hotel in the short stay. The actual bill was over £400, and he tried to charge me £1200. I tried on several occassions to tell him that he was looking at the wrong room. Eventually, he realised that he was charging me for the wrong room. I had wasted half an hour by that point.
staff was very kind and friendly. room was clean. Most dissapointed thig was their famous restraunt in the cave was not open due to our stay in the beggining of April. It should have been informed in their Web site. I felt a little bit expensive for their room facility and atmospher.
great location in town on the water!!
Position, View & good service Room could have been a bit bigger & suggest a flat TV screen would fit better
Very nice hotel with excellent service and clean, spacious rooms.
The views of the sea and our Rm. 211. It was very cool in the room and the heat hadn't been turned on for the fall/winter. We understand this but we had to put on extra sweaters. The view made it all worthwhile.
Very helpful staff.Extremely comfortable well furnished hotel deserving its 4 stars.Value for money.Would not hesitate to recomend.
Staff very helpful. Lovely location.
Location right by the beach and in the centre of town Very noisy even with double glazing as rooms are beside road to beach car park so regular traffic noise. ac did not work and when reported to front desk, nothing done about it. So room was hot and had to sleep with window open which was extremely noisy due to traffic and major construction beside hotel which started at 6am and will last for at least 12 months so avoid hotel until 2011.
Location is great...good service. Hotel has a nice restaurant. Beautiful lobby... Room was very old, stuffy smelling. No decor at all. Bed was not comfortable. Overpriced...you pay for the location.
it was clean,staff helpfull
Nice, refurbished small hotel with a great setting on the cliff face. Wast walk to the small old town and town centre as well as the station. Helpful staff and very good restaurant with fresh fish and good value for money. The room was clean but a bit basic. Our window viewed onto a building site (as opposed to one of the better rooms looking out to sea). There was a small bar by reception but this was a bit open to people walking by and not very big.
Very clean rooms, friendly staff, beautiful views. Stayed there during visit to Bari for Italy v Scotland football match. People in the town were also very friendly to the visiting Scottish fans.
Hôtel avec chambres confortables et spacieuses. Grand parking.
Everything except the distance from the city. It's very uncomfortable to stay there without a car.
Staff was extremely helpful, since we did not know that hotel was a distance away from the city center and we had not car, they were driving and picking us up from the city center. It was close to the highway, so it was noisy when we tried to open windows.
It is a hotel mainly for business people, staff are very friendly. Location is bad when you want to go to the beach. The road is busy and impossible to walk there, so you do need your car to go to the beach.
nice staff the location
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, clean, quiet
NIce position if arriving with car, easy parking, good restaurant (villa degli aranci) in the nearby. Good value for money. Clean, relaxing, not too close to the seeside
All Nothing, everything was good!
The management was very cooperative when we wanted to modify our reservation. This is not really a hotel, although nice garden, perfect restored building and furnished with taste, it is more a reception hall for weddings etc. and it is disturbing when you're staying there (noise, lots of people wandering around...), the more it has no swimming pool! ... Not a good choice.
Fantastic hotel, one of the best we stayed in! Beautifully furnished, comfortable, lovely gardens, really nice breakfast. It is not exactly in Polignano a Mare, but about 2 km out, which is not a problem if you have a car. There are sometimes parties/weddings at the weekends so take your ear plugs if you are noise sensitive. We would definitely stay there again!!
Setting, location, staff
nice and quiet room with a nice terras no swimmingpool
The room was lovely, staff were helpful and accomodating, lovely location. It is a pity there is no swimming pool as it was too hot for the beach in the morning but would have been nice to have a swim in a pool in the evenings. The main business of the hotel is weddings there was one everyday of our stay but these were over by 10pm most nights so we didn't feel disturbed by noisy wedding guests which was good.
Absolutely fantastic hotel pure luxury. Nothing
All the hotel staff was friendly and accomodating for anything we asked about. Closed too early in the evening, closed the gate and turned off lights.
Excellent hotel and facilities. Free wifi internet. Breakfast just ok.
Staff very friendly and great super comfortable rooms. Recommended ++++++ !!!
Lovely atmosphere, romantic, comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a great time and we'll definetly go back.
Very good location in the historic center. Polignano a Mare is a very nice city. Very nice and big roof terrace.
Very good breakfast and nice view. The room is very expensive for what it is (a general problem in Italy), very noisy (on the street), not particularly comfortable. There is a kitchen but very few dish (no glas, for instance). When we arrived, impossible to find anyone anywhere in the town (the adress in booking.com is not the right one) and we had to wait for two hours. Did not seem very well organised.
Great location, just next to Piazza Sant Benedetto, room (Segreta) was clean and comfortable, buffet breakfast is rich and delicious, staff was always helpful and friendly. Apartment Segreta is a basement flat and because of it a littlebit stuffy.
B&B comprises various rooms in the old town. The one we stayed in was a very atmospheric place, nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly. Parking available in an open lot a few blocks away outside the old town walls, but experienced no problem with that. Breakfast is in one of the properties in the old town, very generous.
It is important to note that this b&b is an apartment only, with one person, Chiara, in charge of it along with a lot of other apartments in the town. Thus, it is vital that you email her prior to your arrival to make arrangements to meet so that she can give you the keys to the place and answer any questions. Chiara was very responsive and even offered to have us picked up at the airport in Bari and the price for this service was reasonable. She can also be easily found while staying there. The apartment itself was quaint and clean and generally very nice, with a small kitchen and rooftop patio. The breakfast was in another building and was okay but nothing special although the patio where you ate was cute. The main thing was that checkout was at 10:30 am the morning of our departure, which is way too early, especially for people coming a great distance and still overcoming the effects of jet-lag. Also, the breakfast itself was fairly minimal.
The apartment we had was spacious, well equipped and had loads of character. It was nicely situated within the lovely Old Town area of Polignano a mare. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Breakfast included is taken at another address in the Old Town but this presents no problems and was fine.
Charming room and charming area good breakfast The room was very very cold but of course we were there in March Difficult to find the hotel No parking place
Fine location, comfortable and stylish room, cosy terrace. I liked it vm. There is no parking by the b&B. There is no reception that's why you need find stuff (phone number pointed on the door). Be prepared for the steep steps to come in.
This is a beautiful and very comfortable b&b. The proximity to the sea, restaurants, etc. is ideal. If only I knew how to make those breakfast cakes, they were all delicious! I wish my room had more light. If I return I'd recommend an upstairs room with more windows.
we stayed in the sottano room, i was clean and definitely an experience to remember (because the location is really nice)! breakfast was also one of the best i had on my journey!
Very nice simple design, everything is new and the stuff is also very friendly and helpfull. The location is great with a wonderful view.
We travelled trough Puglia and were suprised by this little B&B. Perfect rooms with a terrific view on the old city and the sea. You sleep with the sound of the waves at night!. The owners are very kind: good advice on restaurants and trips in the region. Perfect breakfast: home made yoghurt by the father of the owner and cakes made by the mother. I will return for sure!!
Perfett!!! Perfect!!! Malù Bed&Breakfast is the most wonderful B&B I've ever stayed. The location is really great, the room is very clean, the stuff is also VERY friendly and kindness. Hope very much to stay here again when I will come back there someday in the future. Nothing!!
Very nice and friendly family worked accomodation. Delicious homemade yoghurt and cake for breakfast. Seaview room, and very good location.
The view and the terrasse were very nice.
Lovely experience - good rooms, bed, shower; excellent staff great location (at the tip of the old city); good amenities (cable tv, rooftop breakfast, mini fridge) Nothing really. I could say that the room was small-ish, but we didn't mind, we had a private terrace and access to the roof-top.
Paolo was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the town of Polignano. The place is right next to the historical center and easy to walk anywhere. Breakfast is the typical croissant and coffee, but he also provides yogurt, cereal, and fruit if desired. We liked everything. Would stay here again
