Nestled in the center of Salvador's historic center, in a former manor house just steps from Terreiro de Jesus, charming Laranjeiras Hostel offers 19 affordable guest accommodations. This area, known as the Pelourinho, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with plenty of restaurants, shops, and historic buildings to explore. The Pelo, as it is locally known, is set on a hill above Baia de Todos os Santos, a 10-minute cab ride away. The Lacerda Elevator transports passengers to the lower part of the city. Visitors can shop for crafts by local artisans at Mercado Modelo, or venture a little farther with a day trip to the beaches of Itaparica via a ferry near the market.
Praca da Sé, a 5-minute walk from the hostel, is a busy bus stop that connects guest with points across the north coast. Laranjeiras Hostel offers airport transportation for a surcharge (advance reservations required). Free WiFi is provided throughout the property.
