9.6 Excellent
Pros: My boyfriend and I absolutely loved everything
Cons: There is nothing we didn’t like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located right in the centre of the Old Town, has beautiful rooms and very helpful owners. Polite and caring staff, clean and quiet. Safe place with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has the perfect location to historic landmarks in the Pelourinho area , great restaurants , nightlife , souvenir stores . Most friendly staff & owner that go beyond to meet our needs , we felt so pampered , & felt safe throughout our stay . Beautiful, very clean hotel with the balcony terrace .
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I had the pleasure of saying at this lovely hotel for 3 nights in early October 2019 at the total cost of around R$1750, including breakfast. I had a lovely bay-facing room which was beautifully appointed and spacious, and contained a huge, double king-size bed - a little strange to get used to. Excellent bathroom facilities, with various shower options, a double sink and bidet, with generous quality linen. The hotel is beautifully decorated in all respects. It is very well situated just off the main square of Pelourinho, overlooking the beautiful bay, within easy walking distance of most sights in that part of the city. The hotel has a small but delightful pool. Breakfasts were served by hand in the lovely restaurant, the only one which I experienced as a non-buffet, with large poritons of fruit, breads, juices, eggs and cakes. I had dinner one night at the hotel which was very good; there is an extensive and unusual menu, very reasonably priced.
Cons: The staff were in general very helpful and friendly - and ubiquitous, perhaps overly so as there were often more than the required number of people (sometimes 3 or 4) at reception - for some reason. I met Didier, and his partner, the owners, upon arrival, and the check-in was fast and efficient; with a free drink given on the lovely roof top terrace. There was unfortunately, toward the end of my stay, one major indiscretion committed by the staff in my case. I will not recount the details here in the hope that it was a once-off offence. The hotel management is free to ask me more about this if it wishes to do so (slon@law.co.za). This is the only reason that I am not awarding the full 10/10 to this establishment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, great restaurant and facilities. The swimming pool area is really peaceful and great to head to for a few hours after you've explored the city. The hotel is also in a great location and on the doorstep of the old town.
Hotel Villa Bahia - Salvador - Outdoor view
2
9.3 Excellent (549 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Villa Bahia, you'll be centrally located in Salvador, steps from São Francisco Church and Convent of Salvador and 8 minutes by foot from Fonte Nova Stadium. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Also one of the best restaurants in town.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the ambience, the furnishings, the courtyards, the room with private terrace and the staff who were very helpful and courteous. Good coffee and good fresh fruit was served for breakfast. The restaurant food was very nice, but prepare to wait for a while.
Cons: It was very noisy at night as it’s right in the middle of Pelourinho and music is played well into the night. We also prefer a Buffett breakfast as preferences equal out, rather than being served a standard breakfast. I don’t really eat white bread and the cheese and ham looked processed and not very appetising. I would have preferred more Joghurt and more fruit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The history of the house and its location are remarkable. The breakfast is really good and the staff truly makes you feel at home
Cons: The wifi could work better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Some hotels just get it absolutely right. This is one of them. In all the time I've reviewed hotels on booking.com I've only ever awarded ten twice. This is the third. This hotel is a labour of love. Meticulously refurbished building with style throughout, from the names of the rooms after Portuguese colonies, the pieces of furniture, the decor, the small indoor courtyard for breakfast, the breakfast itself (wow, the tapioca, the papaya, the eggs), the engagement, friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, the perfectly-formed small roof terrace, the location in the heart of the colonial area of Salvador, I could go on. This hotel was a pleasure to stay in and it's not that expensive either. Just stay here!
Cons: It was all wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a boutique hotel, located at the main street of the Pelourinho (the old center of Bahia); we were there as in the colonial time (the doors, the floors, the stairs, the decoration, etc). The restaurant is small but excellent: gourmet meals and the best of all: the caipirinhas (the typical brazilian alcoholic drink). The staff was very friendly. Everything fine.
Cons: Everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and located at a quiet area of Pelourinho. Breakfast is amazing and staff very friendly and caring.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great. I loved the woman in charge of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and charming hotel, great view from roof terrace, excellent location, fabulous breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Location, hotel with a lot of charm! Loved the private balcony with the hammock. The staff kindly offered to switch our room for a bigger one since we were traveling with a baby, but that room with the balcony was sooo perfect! You can hear music from everywhere, especially during the weekend. We personally enjoyed hearing music from our balcony but be aware it might be noisy. Great breakfast, very tasty with a beautiful set up! Friendly staff, reception staff spoke many languages, including french and english. I would definitely recommend the hotel for couples, families, friends..
Cons: It was missing some plugs in the room, we had to unplug the bedside lamps to charge our cameras/phones, and that wasn't very convenient. wished they had a menu for the breakfast, especially since the staff doesn't really speak english

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and facilities are great. The Hotel has something for everyone, especially families.
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful pool area and garden. Polite staff. We were allowed a very early check in.
Cons: The first room we got had a weird smell and we asked to change, the second room was better but still had some weird smell. The hotel is a bit old and apart from the pool area it doesnt look like a 5 star hotel but a very average 4 star. Breakfast is the same eveey day, i would expect some changes from a hotel branded as a 5 star. Itapua is not the nicest area to stay.
Bahiacafe Hotel - Salvador - Bedroom

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The is the best place to stay when visiting the Pelurhino community. It’s centrally located a short distance from Elevador which takes you to the Low part of the city. If you are planning excursions departing from the Salvador Tourism port, this is your best stay. You can easily reach the port by foot. I made the mistake of staying in a hotel on the other side of town, and the Uber ride was 40 mins with traffic.
Cons: All is good

6.7 Good
Pros: Location is good, walking distance to the Pelourinho. Breakfast good too.
Cons: Sheets and towels not that clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great during our stay! We get all instructions about getting around Pelourinho, the keys and carparking just next to room was very convenient. The room had everything we want. The bathroom was equipped as well. Very clean and also I really liked toilet paper dispenser kind of thing, since I think it's very hygienical. They have the pool but we didn't use it so have nothing to say about it. The breakfast was very assorted, had some vegan options which was quite tasty! The staff were super helpful with treatment from sore throat! Also I should mention that there was coffee available during the day as well as water. Great situated to all main sightseeing objects, definitely recommend them!
8.3 Excellent

Cons: The bed could be more comfy

6.0 Good
Pros: I loved the breakfast. Plentiful and diverse, with different dishes every day. The staff was attentive and answered all my questions. Finally, the social areas (swimming pool in particular) were big and welcoming.
Cons: The complex in itself seems old-fashioned. The rooms have the typical 80's architecture, and it has not been renovated in a long time. The control panel (that other reviewers like) was pretty annoying with the light during the night. While I was there, the complex was in the process of repainting some of the areas, which means that some parts were a bit difficult to access. These were not major issues, yet they do weight when I get a top-tier hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Pool and food
Cons: Staff, hotel is old
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and very good breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good value for money, but also too cheap to be true. Nice breakfast Good view Big room
Cons: Super outdated, zero investment in the renovation Cleanliness is not perfect
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast is regional and with good variety. The staff is friendly.
Cons: The check-in is too bureaucratic. I'd prefer fill my data by my own, instead of answer questions. The hotel is nice, but need a modernization. The things seems a bit run down. The bed could be king size, the double bed it's just too small.
5.0 Okay
Cons: bugs everywhere
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Piscina, breakfast and employees
Cons: Tudo otimo
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and the pool are excellent, the panel at the bedside to control the lights, sound and aircon was a bonus
Cons: The taxis at the hotel are too expensive, we just used uber
5.0 Okay
Cons: They were fruit bugs everywhere the two time I stayed there

5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was excellent (super friendly) There was real natural fruit juice in the morning made by Mauricio . You could order certain foods 24 hr and have it delivered to your room.
Cons: Nothing against the hotel but against the restaurants among the vicinity - I ate in one of the restaurants and suffered food poisoning. I recommend everyone to eat in the hotel and avoid eating at local eateries
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good breakfast
Cons: Access to the beach but can’t really swim there
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super clean and great staff. Amazing pool.
Cons: A shame that there was no drinking water provided in the rooms and the bathroom is fine but starting to look a bit old
6.7 Good
Pros: The view was wonderful
Cons: Wallpaper was peeling loose. HDMI cable from cable box to TV input was faulty. Lost the signal until I pushed the cable into the connector. If you bumped the TV, it would lose the signal again. Room telephone had no dialtone. My room key was incorrectly programmed one day too early for checkout. Had to return to lobby to reprogram.

Pros: The staff was super nice, courteous and showing the best spirit of the famous Bahia's hospitality. The breakfast was superb, great variety and new options every day. Room is very spacious. Nice touch at check-in with a personalised card and typical sweets.
Cons: Nothing. Had a small issue communicated to the management and a solution was immediately offered. It is a family business and that's great, they have the power and independency to directly solve any issues. Corridors and bathroom/showerhead are a bit outdated, but hotel is undergoing a refurbishment.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Food staff very clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and right on the beach in the Barra neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, the mall and a supermarket. We had a spectacular view of the beach and the lighthouse from our balcony. Breakfast each morning had a ton of options and was delicious. Staff really went above and beyond for customer service - one of our bags never made it to our destination and was stuck in the São Paulo airport, and staff helped us call the airlines multiple times to figure out the situation. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was small but very nice and extremely clean. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed the restaurants.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All ... love all .. the restaurant , the staffs , all was perfect! Deff i will be back again! Amazing place near flamengo beach, in itapua tive tardes maravilhosas !
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: As we were 2 travelling, the first room we got was terrible with absolutely no space for opening suitcases and almost no lighting but the staff were amazing and managed to get us another room a day later. So kudos to staff that try make your stay better. The beds were very comfortable, the mini bar has a good variety if you're into that. The pool was nice but very small. The beach right across is just beautiful. There is a lady giving massages by the pool but be ready to pay. No other form of spa was available.
Cons: Breakfast was more basic than expected given the stars rating of the hotel (we had just stayed in another one with less stars and the breakfast was better), but it was ok enough. Make sure you ask for fresh made eggs and they will try for you. The fried ones on the buffet were usually cold and the scrambled overcooked (green). The second pool can only be used during a very limited time in the day, so if you want to swim away from kids etc you don't have a choice. Not sure why they would build a pool in front of the restaurant that u can only use for about 4hrs a day (8am-12noon). The area really isn't very safe so if you are looking to go for walks don't choose the area or to try out restaurants nearby you need always taxi or Uber.
7.1 Good
Pros: gentleness
Cons: the correct price should be a maximum of € 45
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Total service we received was good
Cons: N/a

Cons: Location wasn`t that good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: See above
1.0 Poor
Cons: The first room had people on the terrace (because the room is actually 3 meters from the pool on the same level) !!! Second room on the very loud street
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All of the staffs are very freindly and very, very kind to us. They are supporting each other to provide the guests with their best services.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast
Cons: Very difficult to fault but if I was to nitpick maybe a stronger filter for the pools to help keep the bugs under control.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast. Staff really adorable and available at all times. Share their experience and advise on where to hang out in the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Just a short walk from the historic city centre, this is a real boutique hotel find. It’s tiny and cozy, staff are very charming. Breakfast is fantastic! The old city is tired but beautiful, very vibrant with lots of music and dancing (at the weekend at least), bars and restaurants to hang out in. Apparently it is not that safe at night but during the day and weekend evenings it was fine for us with teenagers and sticking together
Cons: Naughty Aram recommended a bit of a duff restaurant so lesson learned - just use the so called internet...! Still I don’t blame them and definitely this place is a find
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast TOP, suite very lovely
Cons: Too much noise from the Port
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, best cocktails I’ve had so far in Brazil
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy B&B in the very heart of the old town. Very kind and helping people at the reception desk and very clean place. Due to its ocation can be a bit noisy in the evening but noise decreases at around 10pm. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Salvador!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: You get what you pay for here, this place is expensive, but what you get is a beautiful hotel, with large spacious rooms, perfectly decorated. The staff are very helpful and attentive breakfast is great. I loved the location, its central to everything however, if you like the quiet, this isn't the hotel for you. The square is lively with tourists and musicians until late and similarly can start getting busy in the early morning. But there's nothing better than to sit with the balcony windows open, overlooking the square with a beer in your hand, taking it all in.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent for walking around Pelourinho. The house itself is tastefully decorated. The staff are all very kind.
Cons: The wood floor is beatiful to look, but doesn't have no sound proof function. You can hear all the noise that other guests make.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Great location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful experience, the staff were exceptional, very welcoming, friendly & helpful throughout. The rooms were exquisite, large & comfortable. Breakfast in the room was delicious & person centred, it was another extra special touch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is wonderful for what concerns the location and the rooms which were very nicely decorated with wonderful balconies over Largo San Francisco. All the structure has a retro atmosphere that is somehow magic. The staff was superkind and Senora Sandra adds happiness and joy to your stay. If we will return one day in Salvador we will surely come back here!!!

7.1 Good
Pros: Location and type of establishment.
Cons: Pool was dirty from leaves and polen and staff never cleaned it even thought we requested it and it was promised. Mattress on bed was old and hard to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place has so much tranquility and history. The restaurant has magnificant food to a reasonable price. The hotel is well located in the historic part of the city. Walking distance to everything. Lovely to rest at the pool area in the afternoon (or day) . Staff very helpful.
Cons: The security box could not lock. It was solved but some digits could not be used, need replacement. Most TV channels with much noise. Suggest to get these minor, irritating issues solved. Everything else was so wonderful and professional.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff. Remarkable setting.
Cons: Needs a little more management- changing towels, cleaning pool from falling leaves etc. nothing major, just a bit more ongoing maintenance would do this property a lot of good.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location of hotel is ideal for visiting the old part of Salvador. Staff of reception is very friendly.
Cons: Hotel room appeared not to be maintained, bathroom was not cleaned properly, room was only cleaned minimal.
4.6 Okay
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Air conditioning did not work! Service was slow and unreliable except at the breakfast. The bar should stay open and provide service until at least 10pm Prices should be less to reflect the low level of service, inadequate air conditioning in the rooms and lack of professionalism of the hotel management.
6.7 Good
Pros: the hotel is located 5 min walk from Pelourinho in an ancient monastery of the XVI century. the hotel is very atmospheric, filled with antiques, art objects. in the main courtyard there is a nice pool. every morning little monkeys - marmosets - come to the atrium searching some food.
Cons: I’m staying here not for the first time and I see a negative dynamics. Unfortunately, luxury hotel is dying. First, the clearing is just very bad. You can say, it is just a formality. I had to look for a cleaning tag several times. Once cleaner brought a bath foam instead of the shampoo, and the towels brought those who are issued for the pool. Reception personal told: “oh, you can use bath foam instead shower gel”. Now there is now drinkable water in the room for free, I had every evening to walk in the store for the water. breakfast now is also very bad. They can not cook even eggs. No diversity. Breakfast is simply invinct. The restaurant, which was previously at the hotel, replaced by another, to the burnt, also low quality. Very sorry, but these negative factors do not persist say that I'm calling back to this hotel in the future

Pros: Location
Cons: Good location but the hotel is not in great condition and there’s no water on tap or shower when I wake up in the morning.staff has poor customer service
7.9 Good
Pros: location and price
Cons: Rooms are very old, tv is very small
6.7 Good
Pros: The view, the attendance was ok too, breakfast was good and variate.
Cons: The male toilet at the pier was disgusting, The aircon setup buttons on the wall were not working properly. The bed wasn't firm and made heaps of noise when I was in a moment with my partner.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: the beach area was a lot of fun. the hotel is located in a safe area. the people and staff are very nice. great place to stay with kids.
Cons: the wifi is not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly atmosphere, tasty breakfast with beautiful view from the hotel teras. Air-conditioning in the room, fresh towels everyday. Although it was pretty loud sometimes, we could hear if someone is cleaning the room next to ours, but it wasn't really a problem, because we spent the most of the day outside the hotel room. Easy access to the pier, where we could swim or have a drink at the bar, but also 20 min walking distance to the beach. Everything was great!
5.4 Okay
Pros: We arrived at the time of the carnival and therefore the entire street was secured by the police and felt safe. The descent to the sea by an indoor cable car and the bathing area is very nice. The beachfront restaurant is also very good.
Cons: The fact that despite the high price must pay for internet in the rooms. The double bed is made up of two single beds and therefore not comfortable for a couple's sleep. The safe is broken. The air conditioner was old and did not work well, so we managed to change rooms, and that was after a day and a half wait
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel has everything going for it except cleanliness.
Cons: Extremely dirty. The pool had plastic bags in it. Nothing appeared to have been cleaned in a long time. If it were clean this would be a great place to stay. It’s a great pity.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great view!
Cons: It needs an update.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing other than location.
Cons: It was like walking in to the 60's as nothing has been replaced or maintained properly. Rooms and common areas not clean. Expect more for the amount you pay.
