Pros: I stayed at Villa Soro for 4 nights. The main building is elegant with a very warm atmosphere. I had a corner room on the first floor of the newer building which had it owns semi-private outdoor space. Both were nice. The bedroom and bathroom were of good size and quite utilitarian. The newer house has no street noise, though the area is sufficiently quiet that I would be surprised if the original house is affected by traffic noise. The staff is very polite and helpful.
I chose to stay at the Villa as I thought I might find interesting people with whom to talk. Breakfast seemed like an obvious time but the bar is actually pretty lively at night. My wish was fulfilled. Members of The Morgan Motor Club were there with their glorious convertibles (British racing green, of course) and there were 2 architects from Stockholm on their way to Bilbao.

Cons: My bathroom was not adequately cleaned. I suppose this was due to the maid believing that Americans only take showers. However, there were enough clues that I take baths. The tub wasn't cleaned (or not to my standards) and neither q-tips nor hand soap were replaced in a timely matter..
I found there was too much noise transmitted from the room or rooms above which may have been just the luck of the draw in whose overhead.
Note that this really is a residential area and you will have a good 30 minute walk to the bus station or even most restaurants.

Cons: A few people of the staff were not polite and we had to take our breakfast at the room because of the corona virus. Everything in the hotel was closed, like the bar, restaurant, no bike rental allowed. We didn’t even get a voucher for a next stay because of the limited services available.

Cons: Bar man was rude, we couldn't see anywhere to sit in the immediate area and when we found a table just alongside he refused to serve us there and just shrugged at me when I said where else would you suggest we sit! Also reception staff where efficient but not friendly.

Cons: The Parking directions , there are two spellings for the carpark. in the end we drove and double parked outside the hotel . This was the best thing to do as the doorman parked our car for us and then returned it to us when we left, There was a lot of one way streets and building work going on around the locations so confusing to say the least .

Cons: 1. It is necessary to provide the clear indication how to reach the hotel by car. GPS shows a wrong way. I spent 30 min trying to get. 2. The breakfast is nice but VERY expensive. 3. There was works under way to refurbish - and it was not very good. Also there was a big construction nearby the hotel so the view was far from good.

No US plug. So if you bring a shaver, you are in trouble.
The hotel directory in the room was not coherent. It was written the gym was openned untill 10pm and when you arrive their, it was open only untill 9 pm.
The room door didn’t close totally so I had to make sure it would close behind me.
In order to access to the wifi, I had to proceed to certain pages that the receptionist didn’t give at check-in.
NO COMPLIMENTARY WATER.
I’ve been to many other places with better amenities and at least a welcoming water.

Cons: The fact that is costs over €18 to park there and there were so many spaces. I had to jump out of the car to find out how to access the car park, easy when you know how. Also €18 per person for breakfast is expensive as there is not a lot of choice and it is right next to the side where the general public can enter and eat.

Pros: Polite, friendly and professional reception staff. Clean comfortable bedroom with good sized bath/shower. The hotel is a five minute walk to Ondarretta Beach. The Old Town Area and City Centre are a 30 minute walk along a beautiful promenade. If you don't want to walk there is a bus stop outside the hotel with a good bus service provided 1.75 euros each way. The immediate area has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We used the hotel café each morning for coffee etc. Although this was very busy there was always prompt service from the staff served with a smile! We visit San Sebastian a few times a year and always try to stay at Hotel Codina. We are booked to go again next month but don't know if the coronavirus outbreak will force us to cancel. Fingers crossed.

Pros: This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very clean, light, and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was large and very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was also located close to the beach. Not on it, but a short walk from it. It's on the top of a hill so the views of the city were wonderful. Parking was also easy.

Pros: By some stroke of luck we found ourselves in San Sebastián just as spain declared a lockdown. We were the only ones checked in at the hotel while waiting for our exit flights. They made us feel secure and very welcome at the property. In the mornings inspite of us just being the only guests, they still laid out an elaborate and delicious breakfast buffet for us each morning til 11am. Since all of the restaurants were closed this really helped us. We learned that it was also their first time having an empty hotel and our first time as well being the only guests. We loved our rooms, they kept it clean and let us have a late checkout knowing we had a late flight to catch. Thank you to your guys for showing us the best way to be human during times of crisis by making us feel safe and at home. We will definitely be back in better times.

Pros: We were originally supposed to be staying in San Sebastián for 6 nights in an Air BnB. We had to leave the Air BnB due to some plumbing issues at around 9pm at night and where wandering the streets of the old town looking for a place to stay. We found Sercotel and couldn’t be happier once we arrived. We checked in to a Superior room on the 1st floor which was really spacious and had a slight view of Concha Beach (if you pop your head out of the double doors / balcony). The room came with bath robes which we loved and a roomy bathroom with a great shower. We loved the small extra touches that this hotel offered, such as sweets in the lobby to help yourself to, fruit infused waters and mostly 2 macaroons that were left in our room for us one evening after we got back from a day out in the Old town. Towards the end of our stay there were restrictions as lockdown was about to begin. The hotel couldn’t have accommodated us any better. The first evening of restrictions we couldn’t find a single restaurant to eat in, so returned back to the hotel and the kitchen kindly provided us with a meal even though it was nearly 11pm. The day after was the day of check out, the staff member on reception, Helena, was really kind and helpful. She informed us that check out time could be whatever time suited us best and at no charge. This was a huge relief as we were worried how we would kill time until 6pm with no bars / restaurants to go to. Helena also helped us out with bus times and the best route back to Bilbao airport. She made our last day comfortable and as stress free as possible. We enjoyed our stay that much we have booked and will be returning to Sercotel next March for 5 more nights of the amazing city that is San Sebastián. Thank you to all the team @ Sercotel, we cant wait to be back!

Cons: The distance from hotel to Oldtown is around 2-2.5km. You can take bus only for 1km and for the rest you need to walk. Even the location of the hotel is close to beach, for food and fun, you need to spend all your time at oldtown. This is really exhaustic. Everyday at least you have to walk 10km so consider this.

Pros: Location is great, cleanliness and decoration as well. The place is 5 minutes walk or less to the main street and from there other 2/3 minutes to the beach, so definitely well located as well. The staff was nice and accomodating. Bulk beds are made of wood, so they are sturdy and comfy. Would definitely come back. Good breakfast and food in general. Also gluten free choices.
Cons: Might need some more amenities for people who want to cook for them selves. Pity the common area is not always opened and it does not have many features. Would be nice to also have a machine for buying water or snacks after the bar closes.

Cons: The internet wi-fi was absolutely abysmal, at 0.25 Mbps. When I complained at reception, I was told that thats all there was, and the staff seemed largely unconcerned, perhaps it is acceptance of a normal occurrence. . All parking was public and adjacent the street, not secure at all.

Pros: Reception staff could not have been more friendly and more helpful. They should be highly appreciated as they made the hotel exceptional rather than just excellent! Rooms were of nice size, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Barman in the Piano Bar was superb too. Only complaint / constructive comment really was that the plastic furniture cheapened the Piano Bar considerably. If the furniture was more like eg soft sofas we would have stayed for more than one drink. Other than that we were all more than impressed with the hotel. Thank you all!!

Cons: I requested a king size bed when I first booked and got a room with two beds pushed together with individual sheeting (not conducive for snuggling). My shower door was only a half door so there was an ocean in the bathroom after we were finished. The last night we tried to sleep earlier so we could leave early the next day but it seemed there was a comedy club right above us until around 2 AM.

Pros: Very solid and comfortable hotel. Rooms with safety box, good Wi-Fi, and minibar. The decoration of the rooms very modern and we had a balcony with a small table and two chairs, to sit and relax with the view of a lovely part of the city. It is very close to Ondarreta Beach, which by the way is huge and stunning! It has a fitness center that we did not use. We didn't have breakfast because of our tight schedule. Good beds and pillows. I recommend this hotel.

People should keep in mind that it is a student residence, which is well equipped and a good lower-priced alternative in Donostia. Pros: It is a pretty good quite modern place to stay. It's located in quiet area but not so far from the Ondarreta beach (by the way the best beach in the city imho). You will be waking up watching the great view of a green mountain (in case you booked standard double room). You'll get everything for cooking: fully equipped kitchen, utensils enough to cook whatever you want, refrigerator. Bus stop is in 3 minutes walk from the hotel, and it takes about 10 minutes to reach the old town. If you go to walk to the beach, it will take about 15 minutes. There is a computer and printer for guests near the reception zone. Bathtube is small and square but enough to take a shower, be carefull because the floor is very slippery. There are a lot of parking lots near the hotel. So we really enjoyed our stay at this place, price is reasonable, stuff is friendly, hotel is clean, city is awesome, sights are breathtaking, vibe is stunning!

So we really enjoyed our stay at this place, price is reasonable, stuff is friendly, hotel is clean, city is awesome, sights are breathtaking, vibe is stunning!

Pros: good facilities and very spacious indeed. not far from the centre, better to drive or taxi in as its a 45 minute walk to the centre and old town.
