Convient, lemom & orange trees outside accomodation. Reception staff pleasant. Pool good. Thought the cabins needed updated inside and could have provided a kettle and toaster/grill for cooking. Dining menu very poor, dining room staff polite but not friendly.
All the staff at the resort were very very helpful, kind and caring. they went out of the way every day to make you feel welcome, comfortable and happy. The facilities at the resort are excellent. My partner became ill whilst at Sorrento and was hospitalised in nearby Castelamaree for our entire stay. All the hotel staff were very kind caring and extremely helpful with anything I needed and went out of there way to help make a difficult and stressful time for me be as comfortable as possible. They allowed me to stay on at the resort for 3 nights more than my original booking even when they were full. This allowed me feel safe and comfortable and not at all alone whilst my partner received treatment in the hospital.
Location excellent Local bus outside door to sorrento port to catch boat for islands.Short walk to local station to catch train to pompeii and herculaneum and Naples. Excellent breakfast and a well cooked evening nmeal when we ate there. Local minimart, and excelllent cheap restaurants to eat in or take-away. Lovely swimming pool surrounded by orange and lemon trees-nice bar snacks Wonderful view of sea a short walk away We liked constant hotwater and clean towels every day and the quiet of trees and grass in front. The opportunity to use fridge/kitchen for self catering It is basic and there are limited utensils but we found this minor compared to the advantages. Nice and quiet but could be noisy in season. I would not have wanted to be more than 2 people in the hut. There was a double bunk bed as well so presumably its for 4
Nice area, good location outside main busy sorrento while at the same time pretty close. Big parking for free.
We were totally disappointed by the esperidi resort. For a start the chalet that we were given, was more like a shed or 'wendy house', with mouldy wooden cladding on the interior. When the shower was used the floor would soak up the water. Also the room was not cleaned very well at all. Under the bed was dusty etc. As far as safety goes, the kitchen was a nightmare. The gas 2 ring hob did not have an ignition switch meaning that a match had to be used to light the rings. Easier said than done, when holding the gas down and trying to light an unpredictable flame, which caused burns. The cleaning staff at the hotel were friendly, however the reception staff were very abrupt and rude. Within 20 seconds of entering the reception we were asked for payment, without even having a welcome. A 50 euro cleaning fee is also taken, which wouldn’t be so bad if it was actually clean upon entering the accommodation, but this was not the case. All kitchenware had to be cleaned before use, as was the small kitchen area. I would strongly advice people that this is not as perceived. The resort is a bus or train journey from Sorrento. And at night the walk back from the station is a 15-20min walk along a dark road. I must say that none of our upset was down to booking.com, who we have used many times before. It was an unfortunate choice of hotel!!!
Staff were great, couldn't have been more helpful. Good Pool and sun area with good sun beds. Extremely clean and well maintained. Worth paying the extra for the better rooms. Not central but easy walking to Sant' Agnello, 20 mins walk to Sorrento. €1 by train or bus. Bar service not good but we were off season. Breakfast good quality but could use more variety. Not much there for kids.
an oasis to scape from the hectic atmosphere of Italy. has all the ingredients for a relaxed holiday
We were treated very well, everything was perfect. No
Great swimming pool but needs umbrellas to provide some shelter. Nice to have own "terrace" in front of chalet to eat on. Garden setting very pleasant. The chalet was not four-star (the rating of the resort). In need of definite up-dating/up-grading.
the friendly staff - very pleasant pool area - the grounds with orange and lemon trees. Also breakfast room. The changing of lovely white towels which were changed daily. Was very disappointed with the cabin in which we stayed. very old with stained walls in need of major refurbishment. which was highlighted more so after seeing copy of there brochure where rooms were clean and modern
Very friendly staff and all of them speak either French or english. Private parking, great swimming pool for kids. Unbelievable view from the lower level bungalows and nice surroundings. Rooms might need an update. Beds are not that great but OK for this type of stay
Views are fantastic, the bungalows are nice and clean. The towels in the bungalows, the swiwimimng pool is very noise and must wear head coats. Is not possible to relax in swimimg pool. Most of the bungalows didn't have a view.
Facilities and Staff The "beds"
Location is amazing with beautiful views over the Bay of Naples. The accomodation is a bit basic.
Good swimming pools, children playground. Friendly staff. Tiny old-fashioned bungaloo, rather noisy becasue paths to other bungaloos are very close to your windows/doors, full of insects. Awfully dirty stairs to the beach, seems never cleaned. Rather far from Sorrento - touristic area, port and most of shops can be reached only by car/bus. The village was chosen only becasue of the discounted price, but the whole price is extremely high for such kind of accomodation.
Lots of noise during the night from other rooms due to thin walls. Many mosquitoes all day. The sink was problematic and the staff did not fix it. No towels when we came on the first day and it took one day to bring the towels. I would not come to this hotel again !!!
The hotel staff were very kind and room also was so clean.
The location and scenery were outstanding (it is located in a working olive and lemon grove- they make their own olive oil and lemoncello). Very private. Far enough from Sorrento to feel private, but close enough by bus to get downtown easily (10 minutes to walk to the bus stop/ another 10 minutes ride into town). The restaurant served the best food we had in Italy. The staff was great. Food was somewhat pricey, but it was excellent and much more convenient than going to Sorrento for dinner. This was not an issue for us, but the beach access is not easy, and the "beach" is really just a rocky shore, but it is beautiful.
It was very peaceful and in a beutiful setting It could do with a swimming pool
very beautiful and nice place, you can see amazing sunset over the sea here. friendly service a little far from the downtown, but it will be very good if you have a car
An excellent hotel in a stunning location. Friendly staff and well appointed rooms. When the private beach is up and running the hotel will be an even better place to stay.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull The elevator did not work. The bed was exceptionally hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was coffee and cakes. Nothing of substance such as eggs.
Rooms and bathroom are very spacious. Amazing views on the balcony especially at sunset. The previous review is correct about getting to the hotel, if you have a big car I do not reccomend driving there, the roads are tiny, we just managed in a smart car. The locals had smart car or scooters. Stayed in a standard room, the room has been upgraded but the bathroom hasn't. Bathroom is old school and the shower is a bit grotty which made it a downer. Apart from that, the room is nice and modern and good service. Wi-fi signal wasn't strong in our room thus has to use it on the balcony and in the evening there were heaps of mosquitoes around. We had the room under the balcony, very hard to sleep-in as breakfast starts at 8am, thus you can hear all the chairs and tables moving around. The walls are quite thin and you can hear conversations from the other room, but it could just be the room we stayed in.
Very comfortable large bedroom well decorated quite recently, with ensuite shower room of very good standard. Well placed for good views over Sorrento. Hotel details as published indicated free wired internet access in public area, which was not available. A bit difficult to locate Hotel walking in dark as signs reasonably good from one direction but not other.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and provided a very good service to us during our stay. The food that was cooked for us, at our request as we were not big seafood fans was delicious and plentifull. I wuold highly recommend that you contact the hotel if you are planning to drive to this hotel yourself and ask them to explain the best route. DO NOT rely on your satnav to get there!!! The car park is very small and access is extermely tight!!
The room was beautiful and Stephania was very helpful, including giving us a lift to the bus with our bags when we left. The view from the decking was fantastic. The location was a little difficult to reach. The taxi wouldn't go down the small narrow road so we had to walk with cases down the steep hill. More variety for breakfast over the days would be good.
Lovely setting, great views, room was spacious and very well fitted, breakfast was simple and yet nice, hosts where helpful and warm yet a working knowledge of Italian would certainly have helped. If you want to kick back for a day the hotel has a lovely terrace with loungers etc. Relias is on a mountain, to walk to Sorrento town takes about 35 mins, but its down hill and pleasant, getting back however ! there is a bus that stops within 50 yds of the hotel but it only runs every 2 hours, you can get the more regular Sita bus from the main road which is about a 10 min walk but you'll need to get tickets in advance, wouldn't suggest that anybody with limited mobility books here but otherwise walking home certainly burns off the pasta.
The junior suite is great, huge bathroom, fantastic balcony, amazing views. Also very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel. Also, the village restaurant (10 min walk) is highly recommended. Difficult to find.
Lovely quiet location, out of the busy city. Gave a view of village life. Good views over bay. Very pleasant hotel and staff. Local restaurant highly recommended. Instructions for getting there by bus were not clear enough on website. It is very easy once you know how but not obvious if you don't know what to expect. You need to work with the bus timetable but we did not find this too restrictive.
The grounds and view were beautiful. The hotel is nicely structured and updated. The breakfast staff was pleasant. Typical Italian style buffet breakfast (sweet rolls, juice and coffee), not USA buffet standards. The service was horrible. We waited 25 minutes for the owner to come and check us in, after he told us he was eating and would be there in 5 minutes. Once he arrived, it was as if he was in such a rush to take our money and then get us out of his hair. There was no communiation between the owner the day before and secretary when we were checking out. Both gave us different information.
Good location , wonderfull view, modern and stylish premisses ( marble everywhere) , nice terrace with music. Service and generosity of the owners of the hotel. Lift. Good TV and Wi-Fi network for free. No restaurant.
Very friendly hotel with great location.
new, nice and clean; no traffic; free parking, internet; satellite tv; rustic and modern at the same time, nature ...
being in the countryside but also within driving distance ie 3km to city centre ie sorrento, i also liked the clenliness and the sizes of the rooms. none i can think of
This is a really pleasant b&b - special attention has been given to its design, it offers a beautiful view on Sorrento and the sea, it is impecably clean and the staff is really friendly (although not all of them speak English very well). Our room (Carducci) was really spacious for my husband and I, plus our 9 months old baby (free babycot). The location was a very good base for exploring the Amalfi Coast (6-7 km to the center of Sorrento or Positano). Also, the nearby restaurant that the staff reccomended to us, Zio Sam, has delicious food (linguini with seafood are a must), a typical friendly and relaxed Italian atmosphere, and a lovely terrace with view to the sea. I will warmely reccomend this b&b for my friends. The location is fine if you are using a car all the time, but it isn't the best place to take a walk around, as the streets are really narrow.
Fantastic place... they were just finishing a major refurb (May08).. so everything was top notch. beautiful location. shuttle bus to town is ideal.
Location directly at the sea. 2 swimming pools which were kept clean. Simple but clean rooms. Quiet location; no noise from the traffic. Friendly staff. Free parking. We asked for a room (almost) above the restaurant -room 112 - otherwise you will be overlooking the car parking. We had a nice seaview from our balcony. Life music at the restaurant (every evening). We personally experienced this as positive, but the music can be heard in the hotel rooms. In general we experienced this hotel positively; however we realise that we were not staying there in the Italian "high" season (beginning of August) when I expect it will be much busier at the hotel swimming pools. Big disadvantage is the road to the hotel. This is a narrow and winding road which you have to take everytime you want to leave or go to the hotel. If you don't want to stay in the hotel all the time you really need transportation by car or the (free) shuttlebus (takes you to Sorrento). The hotel is a little bit isolated (which has as advantage that it is on a quiet location). Furthermore if you look at the simplicity of the rooms and general condition of the hotel we think it is more a 3 star hotel.
Quiet peacefull setting. Htoel staff were great and very helpful. The whole place is a little shabby and in need of repair. Shower so stained that it looks dirty all the time. Pillows were very hard and lumpy with no other option available. Bed sagged on one side. Information about arragned tours failed to inform of additional costs like entry fees into Pompei and Versuvio, adding about 20 Euro per person to the trip costs.
Only the view The food was not very good to say the least and the staff were not helpful and very rude.
Generally the staff was very polite and helpfull, especially Suzanne at the reception and Chinzo the shuttle driver (I hope spelled it right). It was a very nice and relaxing place, with nice pool and sea front. Their shuttle sevice to Sorrento was very efficient also. It was the last destination for us during our 10 days travel in Italy, and we needed exactly a place like this to rest and swim. Sorrento was also a great place, the metro service to Napoli and Pompei is nice and cheap. Also try the small town Vico Equenza by metro 3-4 stops before Sorrento to have a pizza, theirs we the best after the one we had in Napoli The white haired guy with shorts all the time, spoiled our romantic dinner by shouting around to the other staff "Albertoooo", smoking and talking loudly on the phone standing next to us at the terrace of the restaurant. It is the only bad moment we had...but we had to say it
swimming pool area fee to have room cleaned on leaving
Very good location for access to Sorrento and exploring the area and very good value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Hotel staff were friendly. It's credentials for self catering are limited by a very small kitchen area and no indoor table and chairs. Also, the bungalows are very dark inside.
The self catering bungalows were great value for money - although small - they were excellent for us staying as a family with two children (age 7 & 5) and gave us the flexibilty of small kitchen facilities. The swimming pool was superb & very very clean. Beautiful setting - and the walk into Sorrento was not too bad at all - despite other comments saying it was - my 5 & 7 year old managed it!!
fabulous location within easy walking disance of shops and coast but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very 'laid back' atmosphere. We felt very confident in letting the children walk around the complex. Cost of sun beds were expensive
Nothing The accommodation was dark and claustaphobic. The guests were charged to use a sunbed around the pool the quality of snacks were poor and over priced and the family owners unwelcoming.
We felt like we were home after three days there. The staff was really trying to make us feel that way. We ate breakfast and dinner there also. They had a "party" there one night. Nothing
Cosy garden, like balsam for my soul to relax in the hammock surrounded by lemon trees. Big plus for the veranda and access to a kitchen. The house kept cool, no need of A/C. Nice staff, willing to give tourist information. Upphill from the town and the sea, about 20 min walk. All extra costs if you want to have the house cleaned, towel changed and so on.
Proximity to the town and good transport links. I also liked having individual cabins as opposed to staying in a hotel. There were a lot of hidden extras such as having to pay extra for the A/C sunbeds by the pool and even to have the room cleaned!
Very friendly and helpfull staff, Only a short walk into Sorrento but far enough away to avoid the late night noise and scooters. The hotel bar and resturant are good value and quite a bit cheaper than in sorrento. A great base for exploring this part of italy with the train station only 10 Mins walk away. Possibly not the best accomodation for less mobile guests as it is quite a steep walk back up the hill from Sorrento, however the hotel does provide a shuttle bus several times a day. All in all great value and i would definitely stay again.
Not so much a B&B or hotel but a home away from home. Host, Anna-Maria and her sons, Jean Luigi and Toni went out of their way to make our stay memorable and were genuinely eager to please. Unfortunately, we did not have dinner at Villa Pane but according to other guests the food is excellent. As it is situated quite high in the hills they do operate a free shuttle at set times each day to and from town. It took my wife and I (both the other side of 55) about 25 minutes to walk down the road into town and there are a couple of short cuts. Walking back will take considerably longer...thanks Jean Luigi for that lift back! Overall, a wonderful place and one we would certainly choose again. There are no restaurants (other than Villa Pane) or shops nearby but consider this a small price to pay to stay in this little gem.
the views from the room were excellent. breakfast was filling and very tasty. nothing
The food made by Anna Maria was amazing! It was by far one of the best meals that we had during our vacation. The views were also nice, however for the price we would have liked to stay in a hotel closer to town. When we were booking our room on booking.com the hotel quoted us 65 euro/night. Then, when we were checking out on our final day we were given a bill for 90 euro per night. When I asked the man at the desk he just said that the 65 euro is the "booking fee" and the 90 euro was the additional cost of the room. Not very professional in my opinion! Another thing that we didn't really appreciate was the "shuttle service". There is a schedule for the summer but in the winter/off season it does not run regularly and it's quite disorganized. Finally, there is no internet at the hotel dispite what it says on booking.com
The room was small but the views over the bay are great. The family who run the hotel are delightful. The best part of Villa Pane is the food. we have visited the country at least twice a year for 15 years and this is the first time at this hotel. We can safely say that this is some of the best food we have ever had in Italy. Worth visiting just for the pleasure of fresh and tasty gourmets eating and fantastic value to boot! the top floor lacked sound proofing. everything was audible from every room
