Cons: Late night noise issues from bar and terrace area kept us awake and even awakened us from a sound sleep one evening. Required repeated calls to front desk to resolve. Pros: Extremely pleasant, capable, and helpful staff !
Well appointed room with great view !
Exceptionally good black-out shades in room that permitted good sleep while adjusting to new time zone ! Very comfortable, Quiet room!
Good spa facilities.
Good on-sight restaurants. Good buffet breakfast.
Excellent wifi, including in the room !!
Beautiful design/architecture. Bright and cheerful.
I REALLY LIKED THIS HOTEL !!
Cons: Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.
Pros: high quality facility providing full service. Staff is competent, professional and helpful. Room are comfortable and clean. Food is very good. Internet works well
Cons: Sometimes prices on high side for Cape Town where there are plenty of options
Pros: Comfortable, clean and modern; we stayed in a suite which comes with a great breakfast and cocktail hour
Pros: The location is a right between downtown and the V&A Waterfront. Everything is walkable plus you have great cab service as well as the hop-on hop-off bus right out in front of the hotel. Since this hotel is adjacent to the convention center, getting to anything you want for business or please is easy to do. The breakfast spread in the mornings was excellent and the rooms were nicely appointed wth hotel being very clean.
Cons: Since the hotel is at the convention center, if there is a large convention in town (that you are not a part of) you may get overwhelmed by conventioneers. There was a large ANC convention in town while we were there. The hotel was able to handle the added quests, so it reallly wasn't a problem but could be an issue for some. Check the Cenvention Center schedule prior to booking. The only other issue I had was the customer service in general. I really thnk this issue is more cultural to South Africa than it is an issue at the Westin. I just didn't feel like the conceirge's were as helpful as they should be getting tickets for me or helping me find a good restaurant. I sat in the bar area of one of the hotels restaurants (1 meter from a restaurant table - didn't realize it) and we asked to order a desert and was told we needed to get up an move 1 meter to the next table. This kind of rigidity does not exist in the USA..,.the customer is always right and we would have been served. That night we decided to get up and move back to our room. At breakfast, there was mixup with the number of people in our room booking (they claimed the reservatin was for one and we had two in the room). Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary but they made us pay for one breakfast each morning (200 Rand)....an inconvenience. I think this would have been handled differently in the US. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location and nice amenities, just don't expect 5 star American style service anywhere in South Africa. (Although I will say the overall service level in South Africa is much higher than anywhere I have been in Europe....espeicallly restaurants)

Also the female waiting staff had stained blouses which gave a bad impression of kitchen hygiene. The hotel should launder them daily and inspect regularly.

with many great restaurants. Rooms were smaller than expected, but adequate.
Cons: Internet service was slow and some time "hit and miss".
Food service at the pool side bar and restaurant were either very good or very bad depending on the service person attending to your requests. A shout out goes to Darron, wait person who was the best.

Pros: When the sun is shining there is no better hotel in Cape Town to be a guest at. Very luxurious yet trendy and the staff are excellent, a number of whom have worked there for decades.
Pros: Great location on the beach, many nice bars and restaurants nearby, and easy and beautiful drive into city. Rooms are very elegant, restful and clean. A lot for your money by US and European standards.
Cons: Service at breakfast seemed spotty. Management doesn't seem to have empowered staff with enough information or authority to answer basic questions or make basic decisions.

Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, and hiking/biking trails, mountain biking, and snorkeling are nearby. Rooms at this upscale hotel feature bonuses like sofa beds, refrigerators, and microwaves.
Pros: Rooms are beautiful with fantastic views. Gym access was great.
Cons: WiFi was TERRIBLE!!!! If you need reliable internet access, this is not the place, the signal is poor, access is difficult and limited. If this was corrected, Madela Rhodes would be a superb hotel.
Pros: The location was very good and the rooms themselves were really nice. It felt like a spacious 1 bedroom/studio apartment and it was awesome to have a kitchen (although we intended to use it we didn't, the restaurants are great and affordable)
Cons: The WIFI connection is very slow. This seems to be an issue in South Africa at times, but it was incredibly bad at times. It would take several minutes just to load e-mail. Also, there was no fitness center there. We were given cards to go to a local gym around the corner, we did that one day and then one of the security staff told me they had made a mistake and we weren't allowed. I asked other members at the front desk later, they had no idea of this policy change. In all, I was disappointed there was no fitness center there, felt a little misleading.
Pros: Apartment with kitchen
Cons: Everything nearby shuts down early, not the most inviting area to walk around after dark
