Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.

Cape Town, from Table Mountain to underwater delights

With its mild mediterranean climate, beautiful natural setting and iconic landmarks, it’s no wonder Cape Town is the most popular tourist destination in South Africa and indeed in Africa as a whole. Stunning beaches, outdoor adventures, abundant accommodation options and a rich history add to the overall package.

Cape Jazz, beaches, and wine worth a road trip

Table Mountain is perhaps the most iconic landmark in Cape Town and is the perfect start to any tour itinerary. Take a cable car to the top or spend a few days hiking on foot. Either way you will be rewarded with remarkable views of the city and surrounding landscape. A detour to the Cape of Good Hope is also a must. Scope out one of the more secluded beaches such as Oudekraal, Beta Beach and Smitswinkelbaai for a little relaxation. The cool to mild waters off the coast of Cape Town offer tremendous snorkelling and diving opportunities, especially for those with courage enough to swim amongst the diverse shark population. If you have time for a day trip, the towering mountains and stretches of luscious vineyards in the Cape Winelands won’t disappoint. Wine-tasting tours are a great way to experience the rustic atmosphere first-hand.

Evolving from the struggles in Cape Town during the apartheid years, the Cape Jazz music genre is now a way of life that can be enjoyed all over the city in bars, cigar lounges, and at events like the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. For a more tangible memento of your trip head to the Pan African Market for old folk art and custom garments, or the Greenmarket Square for some real bargain hunting. Delve into the local history with a walk along Government Avenue and its numerous museums including the National Gallery, Iziko Museum, Houses of Parliament and Iziko Slave Lodge.

Areas to stay in Cape Town

Accommodation in Cape Town is particularly plentiful, with options ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels and a bunch of B&Bs and guesthouses in between. The city centre is convenient and often turns out cheaper given its proximity to many of the major attractions. Areas just outside the busy centre may offer a little more peace and quiet for sleeping. The Kloof Street neighbourhood is perfect for travellers seeking a young cafe culture and independent stores. Many guesthouses and hotels provide free internet for guests and wifi is also generally available in inner city cafes, though is sometimes charged by the hour.

Fly in to Cape Town and find your way around

Cape Town International Airport is the second largest in South Africa and services flights from all major South African cities and other international cities in Europe, the USA and Asia. From the airport the MyCiti shuttle is an economical method of transport to the city centre, running every twenty minutes. Metered taxis are also available and car hire vendors are easy to locate. Within the city it’s often easier to have your own transport as getting around on foot or bicycle is problematic and not recommended aside from short distances. The local train network provides a decent service to suburban areas but it’s important to keep an eye on your valuables and purchase a first class ticket to help avoid potential safety issues. Two bus networks link most locations in the city and some destinations further afield and travelling this way is relatively inexpensive.
