The Getaway - Carmel-by-the-Sea - Building
2
9.2 Excellent (235 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at The Getaway places you in the heart of Carmel, within a 15-minute walk of Carmel Beach and 17-Mile Drive. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is perfect!
Cons: The filth and beat up furniture...scummy place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the decor. It was bright fresh and unique. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely helpful and so warm and welcoming. Nothing seemed to much trouble. I actually loved it that much that I have booked again to take my mum in March.
Cons: I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place is very clean and centrally located. They offer a great happy hour with complimentary drinks and snacks. The breakfast had an array of good choices.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Firstly the Getaway is a motel, a refurbished motel to be fair but a motel none the less. There is free wine and snacks during happy hour but if you don't drink then...
Cons: Should you want to spend a night in a non air conditioned room, listening to your neighbours talking and your upstairs neighbour every step and movement then this is the place for you. Also, arriving and finding no parking in their lot but being told you can park on the street, pull out on the street and there is nowhere to park. The morning was fun, people travel with their dogs and so you hear them waking up too, since you can hear everything in all other rooms and people packing their cars. Then the best noise, the plumbing rattles also. All in all, the most expensive place we have stayed on our holiday is also the worst.Noise, no parking, no air conditioning, poor water pressure, slow internet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location within walking distance to town.
Cons: It’s generally a nice room. Will be better if the shower area has some lighting. Also need a chair in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We live only 40 miles away and always visit Carmel for my birthday. This is our 2nd year in a row here (they just opened last year). The room is very comfortable and so quiet. There is parking. Love the included afternoon wine and snacks, and the morning breakfast. Location is ideal for Carmel. We will be back!
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice design, love the details... free breakfast and happy hour, can beat that deal!
Cons: Not much
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and wine in the afternoons were nice touch.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The watermelon at brunch was good
Cons: Paid LOTS of money for a room with a king size bed. This place is NOISY. The sound of people flushing their toilets or running their showers is incredible. The banged up used furniture in our room needs replacing. Knobs were missing from the end tables and chest. The upholstery on the two chairs were pathetic. We parked on the street because this hotel does not have enough parking spaces to accommodate guests. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.
7.4 Good
Pros: Located right as you get downtown, it is walking distance to everything. This makes finding parking a nonissue. Yay. The breakfasts were homemade and nice. Quiche, fresh fruit slices, muffins in addition to the usual fare. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The furniture was scuffed and worn which made a poor first impression.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location.
Cons: grossly overpriced motel.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing. The room has so much potential.
Cons: The mattress = ridiculous; could have folded it over, no support. Used bath 3x but would not call it larger than normal; not for two adults. Water only stayed half full before draining, not deep. Tried to light fire twice, smoke alarm both times. Not sexy

Cons: The room with a view
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Serene, quite place with wonderful staffs. Breakfast was sumptuous with variety of foods & good fruits!!
Cons: Low ceiling & heard plenty of footsteps above us.
7.4 Good
Cons: While we thought we rec'd a decent deal at $360 for a single night for a deluxe king room, a day before our trip i noticed a similar king room for $100 less. Figuring i would just get a better room with a view, i was disappointed to learn that the room had no view and just a gas fireplace. I mentioned the discrepancy in the rates, but they only suggested that we should have booked directly instead and called in first to verify the rates and the available rooms.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and ambiance/atmosphere overall was relaxing and beautiful. LOVED the chocolate covered strawberries provided! The room was clean, a nice size and I loved the fireplace and fountain that added to the stay.
Cons: The heat didn't make it to the bathroom so waking up in the AM I experienced a noticeable difference in the temp from the main room to the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fun and pretty decor
Cons: They just need to add nightlights in bathroom - otherwise was a wonderful experience!
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great. Fireplace was cozy.
Cons: Our room was right next to the stairs and you could hear people going up and down the stairs. It was quite loud. We could also hear the party above us as they walked across the room. The person seemed very heavy footed. Not sure if this was the case or if walking above just makes a lot of noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms! The bed and sheets were amazing and the room was immaculate. The soaps and shampoos were very high quality. This hotel is in a very peaceful street. I slept like a baby. The fireplace was lovely too. At night, the courtyard is lit up with little torches so it's quite pretty. Theresa, the manager, was incredibly kind and helpful.
Cons: The lobby was a little spartan, so I was afraid the rooms would be too. They were NOT.

Martine Inn - Pacific Grove - Bedroom
9
9.0 Excellent (275 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Pacific Grove, Martine Inn is by the ocean, within a 15-minute walk of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.0 Okay
Pros: 5.30 wine cheese and fruits as well as the breakfast
Cons: Dirty bath tub and no good blanket, which is just so weird considering the price per night
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding. The location is perfect.
Cons: Our room was small but quaint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All AOK. Nothing wrong
Cons: Rug needs tape. More TP.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor- nicely adorned with vintage furniture and memorabilia. Lion’s claw tub with great water pressure and ample hot water. Amazing views and many hidden courtyards for quiet relaxation or larger socialization. Plenty of parking on the street and hotel only parking for cars. We have a large pickup and parking was easiest behind the hotel. To check in, drive to the side of the hotel instead of in front. There are many stairs to climb if you park next to the ocean and none if you park behind. Sweets, coffee, tea, and icy flavored water is available in the lobby 24 hours a day. Breakfast and cocktail hours serve delicious complimentary food and drink. The owner’s stories of his colorful life growing up at the home and racing MGs was quite a treat.
Cons: Only two pillows on the bed and an extra in the closet. I’m sure more would have been provided if we had asked, though.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed at the Martine Inn during Monterey Car Week and, in spite of the elevated activity level throughout the Monterey area, Don, his Grandson and the staff took great care of us. The Inn was our welcome ocean front retreat when we needed a break. Breakfasts were very good and the afternoon "tea" was extensive and tasty. All in all, a delightful stay.
Cons: Being car week, the room rates were not a bargain but also not totally unreasonable as all area accommodations go up pretty sharply during that time. Also, the rooms are not air conditioned, which is not prominently mentioned. Though the days were pretty warm (August) the ocean front location assured that things cooled down reasonably during the evenings. Sleeping was not at all uncomfortable.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and accommodating
Cons: The first room was unacceptable and they up sold me to a better room that was double the price. The property was old and very dated and cluttered. I would not recommend this property and will not be returning.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location and view, 10-minute walk from Cannery Row. Immaculately clean. Martine Inn definitely has character and a unique style that sets it apart from other places to stay.
Cons: Unless you’re a fan of antique houses, it’s not really worth the expense. Being an old property, it doesn’t have amenities like air conditioning. The bathroom is cute but tiny and impractical (eg. no place to put soap/shampoo while you shower). There are no electrical outlets next to the bed and no extension cord so you can’t charge your phone unless you disconnect the radio alarm - small details that could make this place much better.

Pros: Sound between rooms was poor. Room needed rugs of some sort as all floor surfaces were cold. No nice common areas. Minimal place to sit and have a drink. Service fantastic, rooms well appointed. We would go back but too much money for what’s there.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant and beach access
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Had amazing staff members. Especially hotel employee It was very nice to be able to walk out from your back porch of your room and out onto the beach.
Cons: The only 2 reasons why I dont score this hotel 101% is because there was a picture that was broken/ shattered glass and the room was very cold. I understand it's right by the ocean but it had a fireplace that I thought would keep us warm but didnt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing . Customer service was superb . The view is nice . The room was comfortable . It was a surprise birthday gift for my mom and she just loved the stay .
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely LOVED our stay! Our room faced the ocean and we had our own private deck to enjoy the waves. They make fires on the beach for you to enjoy which made us so happy. We ate at their restaurant and had a delicious burger and yummy cocktails. I think our waiters name was Michael and he gave us 5 star service for sure. I can’t wait to come back! We feel completely refreshed after staying here. Thank you!
Cons: Carpet could be updated but it’s hard to keep it fresh with all the sand.
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff are great. Ocean front view junior suite has amazing views.
Cons: Room needs remodeling. Bathroom doors worildnt close properly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, serene, clean, beautifully appointed.
Cons: Far from dining. On site restaurant had limited menu and only open early evening.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location.
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The staff at the onsite restaurant were rude (especially the hostess) and slow (especially the bartenders) The manager was helpful but obviously dealing with an inexperienced staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view of the sea is spectacular. The room is well furnished and comfortable. The pool and hot tub areas are well maintained and quite big in size.
Cons: We had a few issues during our stay, namely the fireplace could not be shut off, even though we were told it would shut off automatically after a timed period. We had to call an employee to manually turn off the gaz directly on the pipe at 1am because it was getting too hot in the room. Also, an alarm that wasn't turn off in the room ran at 6am, so it was a short night. However, the staff was very apologetic and fixed these issues as fast as they could.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Small thing.... we had Massages (Which were great) but the total experience was not complete. No Locker room access, No robes, Slippers, relax room was after we dressed- changed clothes in our room? Could have been a better overall experience.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazingly pleasant and very helpful! One on my best experiences in a long time.
Cons: Having nearby parking may be a need for some. You have to park a distance from the lodging as its on the beach however, the offer personal rides on electric carts throughout the property.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All in all a wonderful stay and an amazing view and great restaurant

Pros: excellent breakfast cooked to order. Home made scones deeeelicious!
7.0 Good
Pros: good breakfast consistent with an average bnb tiny rooms that are ancient but nicely updated baths ladies at breakfast were great
Cons: one doesn't feel like staying in the room to have a conversation - we usually drive ,unpack and then discuss plans or just talk and both of us commented we needed to find somewhere else - as the ladies at breakfast were fun and enjoyable the gentlemen hosts were curt and gave information but not "friendly"
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Our heater didn’t work very well so a little cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional stay. Very well appointed and comfy place to stay. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was terrific and the scones were marvelous. The location in Pacific Grove is obviously hard to beat. If you've never been to this part of California and have not seen this coastline, you need to come. It is indeed matchless. We always stay in B&Bs wherever we travel and the bottom line is that this one is definitely at the top of our list.
Cons: What's not to like?
9.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful B/B with daily included breakfast, great central location to downtown Monterey, 5 min walk to lover's point beach and oceanfront walk. really accommodating staff.
Cons: understandably old building with creaky floors. this was not bothersome but for those that value very quiet places, may not be ideal for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was first rate! The 24/7 coffee/tea with scones/ cookies was very much appreciated. The inn was charming and staff very friendly. However... the location was the best of all. We thoroughly enjoyed all the local offerings and the ease of accessibility!

Pros: The location was great. Close to the water and close to the downtown restaurants. Breakfast was delicious!
Cons: The comforter was much too heavy and warm for the room. Something lighter would be better. A more comfortable chair cushion would be good too.
Sunset Inn - Pacific Grove - Building
13
8.9 Excellent (912 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Sunset Inn in Pacific Grove, you'll be in the historical district, within a 10-minute walk of Point Pinos Lighthouse and 17-Mile Drive. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are well kept and very attractive and the fireplace was a nice addition to the room. We’ve stayed in this area in the past, and this location is excellent. The quiet neighborhood is beautiful and the beach is a close walk.
Cons: The table and chairs were not in a convenient location to really utilize. Although the layout of the room made it difficult to have them anywhere else; I think just a bigger table would have sufficed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was cozy and warm. The general manager makes you feel like family. They provided a late checkout without a fuss. The outdoor fireplace at night while enjoying free refreshments in the evening was great. There are snacks available all day along with juice, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. I have stayed at many places in Pacific Grove, and this by far was the most enjoyable. Just a short walk to the beach.
Cons: The bed was very firm . Everything else was great. The decor was nice too.
4.0 Okay

Pros: Short walk to ocean and isn't that what s Pacific Grove all about?Nice fireplace in room and coffee all day at office
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Sunset Inn is located at the tip of the Pacific Grove peninsula. It is very quiet out there and very relaxing.
Cons: The only thing I can say I didn’t like about this place is you could hear people walking in the next rooms because they have laminate wood floors and not very solidly built.

Pros: Great accommodation, very comfortable, beautiful looking, great location and Jacuzzi and fireplace in the room. Very cool
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious, well kept and comfortable. Property was visually pleasing and clean. Staff were polite, friendly and professional.

Pros: The staff was friendly and efficient at check-in & check-out. I had very loud overhead neighbors and on my third night I asked the front desk to move me which they did without any hesitation. Hotel is walking distance to town & beach. I will stay again.

Pros: This is a beautiful property, with very accommodating employees and easy access to the beach and downtown. We plan to return someday!
Cons: Have no complaints!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Nice looking property. Friendly service. Great breakfast.
Cons: Didn't have double room available that was booked. Noisy. Overpriced for what it offered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel but rooms are a little small but so classy you don't mind. Top of our list to come every year.
Cons: Wonderful spot and top place to relax. Staff could not be better. Best breakfasts in years, all in Carmel which is one of the best towns in the US.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere was charming, and the staff was welcoming and generous! We were upgraded and treated to champagne because it was our anniversary. The views were magnificent, and everything was close by! The breakfast was delicious and all the staff were kind and attentive. I was very pleased with our experience! Thank you to the staff for making our experience an anniversary to remember!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Room, especially bathroom, was way too small.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Hotel tried to portray a high end experience by providing milk and cookies at check in. Wine reception in the evenings. Turndown Servive at night and a decent breakfast buffet that is included.
Cons: Their premier ocean view rooms looked like a holiday In or 3 star hotel at the best. Very poor design and ambiance. Bad holiday in furniture , plastic trees and plants. I expected more for $500 per night, at least rooms that looked better. Also, rooms have no balconeys and hotel does not have a jacuzzi. It is possible that the hotel is offering value for the budget traveller (hard to imagine at over $500 per night). I did notice that better hotels where 30% more expensive when I was in Carmel. I would have preferred to pay about 30% more for better accomadations.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful property wellmaintained
Cons: Room small with no air con,up two flights of stairs.hotel nowhere near full and smart thing would have been an upgrade to encourage a return. limited view .worth staying but check your room first.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds. Very nice rooms, excellent breakfast and nice bar. Friendly staff.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Awesome breakfast service
Cons: rooms were old & in need of repair/renovation (broken heater & leaking sink
5.4 Okay
Pros: The view was nice, but that was mostly thanks to Carmel being stunning.
Cons: Very noisy! Don’t underestimate the other reviews. They’ve got an old steam-based heating system that has a ton of air in it. As a result, you will get woken up all throughout the night to loud banging noise, like someone is taking a hammer to a steal pipe. The sound is coming out of the heater in the room. Do not choose this hotel if you want a good nights sleep. Also very dated rooms. The quality of the room is about what you’d expect from a Travelodge, it does not in any way live up to the $400+ price tag.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was just beautiful and romantic in every way. Staff was incredible.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed Breakfast Staff Location Cookies and milk
Cons: No bottled water in room

8.8 Excellent (1,982 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The hotel is located in the heart of carmel, next door to exclusive shops, galleries and restaurants. Championship golf courses and pristine white beaches are just minutes away.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute little place, great location.
Cons: No AC or fan in the rooms (there is heating). It generally doesn't get too hot in Carmel, but for those of us who are naturally warm and need a little AC (or at least a fan)going to sleep well at night, it was disappointing. Everything else was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed in room 502, which had a great view of the ocean. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but it appears to have been recently remodeled and the shower had good water pressure. Its a short walk to lots of nice restaurants.
Cons: The AC/refrigeration unit from the market/deli next door is somewhat loud and is on 24 hours. It's a white noise so I was able to kind of tune it out, but be aware if you're someone who's sensitive to that type of thing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a convenient and well run hotel, comfortable and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, cute, great breakfast!
Cons: Nothing!
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location and nice clean rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The garbage trucks make a lot of noise early in the morning on Monday. Not the hotel's fault but something to consider.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Parking
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Check in staff was helpful and accommodating. Hotel is well situated to town shopping and restaurants. Easy walk to the beach. Free breakfast was a very nice touch. Our room with a large balcony and vast view was wonderful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. All of Carmel by the Sea was easily walkable. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. The property itself was very nice. Very clean and up-to-date.
Cons: The shower was pretty small for me. Water pressure wasn’t great. The primary means of heat in the room seemed to be a portable heater. The room did have a gas fireplace, although I did not use it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find...walk right across the street to the forge restaurant...was excellent food...
Cons: We paid extra for a view room and was put in almost last room in the back on floor 5....still had a pretty side view if you stood on the balcony but wished we would've been in the front....but all in all it is nice and priced ok for carmel by the sea...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from balcony and great sunset. Nice comfortable modern room. Good wifi. Very good breakfast included. Near 17 miles road , Monterey and Big Sur road.
Cons: The room was cold in the night and the AC was noisy. This is a problem in wintertime and cold days only.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good, with an attendant there to clean up and help with any problems. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a well run operation. Carmel itself is a beautiful little town.
Cons: The only issue I had was not their fault. Google maps directed me to the rear of the property on a tiny side street. Carmel apparently doesn't allow a lot of street and sign lighting so it wasn't easy finding my way around. The downtown is really very nice and the lack of harsh lights and giant signs is part of what keeps it nice. But, if at all possible, arrive before sundown to get a feel for the layout of the town because after dark you'll be flying blind.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. No frills basic is what I was looking for. Good value.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Being able to park near my room.
Cons: There were several oversize vehicles parked in small spaces. Pick ups, utility, should probably been asked to park further away, They blocked views and took every inch and made getting in and out of regular size cars more difficult. They were dusty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My family really liked the room, especially the beds, sheets, and pillows. They were super happy that this is the place we chose to spend two nights.
Cons: Wish they had breakfast included.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s clean and filled with necessary facilities. It’s near costco and other supermarkets
Cons: The location is not located near the tourist sites. If you’re a tourist and have no car, it would be inconvenient to go around. Since it’s not big city, there are not much choice of public transportation like metro. One more thing, the hotel take the money out of my account before I check in. Normally if I book from booking.com, I will always pay when I arrive which I can choose which bank account I want them to charge. It see this as the hotel doesn’t follow the booking.com rule. if they want to do so, they should inform me the detail when I book, so I can be aware.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was close to restaurants and the freeway.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to Monterey. Super affordable. Close to restaurants, shops, Safeway, etc.
7.0 Good
Pros: Inexpensive motel close to outdoor activity venues we were after with all basic amenities
Cons: Luck of coffeemaker and very spotty Wifi Internet access.
7.0 Good
Cons: Bed was a bit too springy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the location, front desk clerk was very nice and he also gave me a little info on where I can go and do. I liked that I didn't have to call for extra pillows. Everything was convienant. Will come again.
Cons: I didn't see any complimentary things in the lobby area for the guest.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We needed a quiet, clean room, in a safe neighborhood, for one night. Front desk manager was friendly and helpful. The room was small, but very clean. No coffee maker, but a nice little refrigerator and microwave. Close to lots of restaurants, Target, and grocery stores. We were very happy with everything. No complaints. Just right for our needs. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for a stopover on our road trip. No frills, spacious, clean with comfortable beds. Would recommend and would stay again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff welcomed us and was so helpful in making sure our families that stayed there were next to each other!!! The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for the wedding we were there to celebrate.
Cons: A coffeemaker in the room with coffee and teabags. This was absolutely the ONLY thing we missed. The staff was so friendly - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Overall okay.
Cons: The super bright parking lot light flickered on and off like a strobe light. We had to cover our windows with towels and blankets in order to sleep.

1.0 Poor
Pros: leaving it
Cons: The lady at the counter.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was right where me and my husband where going.
Cons: Nothing really except we where told there was a continental breakfast and there wasn't.
7.9 Good
Pros: The Seaside Motel was upgraded with quality furnishings. and the atmosphere was quiet. All of the rooms are for non-smokers & pets are not allowed which worked for me. Although the motel is in the neighborhood of Cost Plus, Costco and car dealerships, commuting anywhere was easily accomplished. The cost during the busy season was more reasonable than most motels.
Cons: Although my particular room upstairs had a nice Koehler bath/shower, the drain did not work adequately. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Parking at the motel is crowded, and no breakfast is offered.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice price and well lit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I missed breakfast or didn't think it was included. Very clean, great staff, we felt safe and secure, nice guests too. Close to cannery row and aquarium without the high price, nice park in between to stroll on the beach.
Cons: The bed was harder than I like, it was probably more therapeutic than my memory foam though. I really felt well accommodated. Smallish parking lot for a limo. Near cost plus and shopping, I wouldn't stay somewhere else even with a higher budget, I expect they will be full next time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service, clean room, and got a stellar one night price through booking.com
Cons: Only parking spot left was in front of the ice machine.

1.0 Poor
Pros: It was the cheapest I could find, but almost $--- for one night after taxes and all, was not worth it.
Cons: It smelt of cigarette, there were cigarette butts under the bed, along with burn marks on the comforters. The back door didn't lock, their bathroom was unfinished, exposed concrete where cabinets should be, the shower leaked, and wouldn't turn off.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location, some interior remodel updates
Cons: There was cigarette smoke billowing in from under the door, through the vents and seemingly the walls! People yelling all night, carpet was disgusting/missing. Sagging mattress, old furniture

Pros: I was locked out of my room at 7am in the morning for 1 hour because there was no one at the front desk to reset my key-card. I tried calling, but there phone message box was full. When I complained to the management, the gave me such an attitude.
Cons: horrible experience.
1.0 Poor

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast included and they had non-dairy milk.

Pros: The cocktail hour and breakfast was awesome
Cons: The shower pressure and temperature were poor and the pool was cold
6.0 Good
Pros: Location, friendly staff, omelets ocean view

Pros: Whats not to like?! The location is =, the hotel itself is clean and quiet, I felt safe on the the property. The staff was so friendly. Finally, the free breakfast, free snacks in the evening, and free drinks-adult drinks...embassy is my new favoriite
Cons: Only thing I found to be lacking was the fact that there is only one way in and out. It would be nice to exit near my room and not walk to the opposite end of building. The elevator was kinda slow, well, maybe not. I can be rather impatient.
7.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Wished the rooms were vacuumed

Pros: The staff from the front desk to the ladies that clean and the gentleman that brought up our room service all were a delight. The hotel itself was very clean and layed out very well. We loved our room with the separation between the bedroom and TV viewing area with dining table for four was really appreciated. We loved sitting out on the balcony admiring the views.
Cons: If the price was a little lower I would rate our stay an 11.
