Overcharged for insurance
Cons: Pick up took 2 hours. Was given a very small Renault twingo. Was told car didn't have any insurance. Had to go to another branch to exchange car to kia picanto. Dropped off car and realised we did purchase insurance when we rented the car online. Want back to get refund and was told we had to go through the soft customer service desk to sort out. They couldn't help us as they aren't responsible at their branch...

Not what I payed for
Pros: The car was clean inside but not outside, the attention was "ok", and they kind of solved my problem by paying
Cons: I booked an Audi Q2 because I was travelling with my pregnant wife and we needed lot of space for our luggage. The Audi wasn't there and instead they had a Opel Mokka, which trunk is much smaller. They didn't have any other options but paying for an upgrade, so I had to pay in order to solve the problem. When tried to call the number they gave me, the call was picked up by the same people in the desk in front of me. Would not recommend sixt at all, very bad customer attention

Good car, but slow service.
Pros: Car was very clean inside and out, and ran well.
Cons: Very long wait at rental counter and later in garage to actually get keys and go (~1 hour from arrival at counter before I could drive away). Underage driver fee applied and cost more per day than the daily rental rate.

Pros: Sixt was prompt, advised that I had leased a bigger car than I might want, switched me to a diesel at a more modest size but which had great mileage at a modest upgrade rate. Great car, no problems, GPS integrated into the car was extraordinarily helpful. Very happy with the experience.
Cons: Prompt service, courteous and had me into the car quickly. return was smooth, easy and also very fast.

Car rental in Amsterdam
Pros: The service was good.
Cons: Would not accept the debit card with which I placed my order. The debit card was charged but I was told that it would be returned to me. Requested a credit card with which to place my order. the total price of the rental was much more than was shown on the site as many hings were not on the sites like the insurance which was much more than the car rental. At the end I payed about 3 times more than my order !!!!

Found out about the need for a costly insurance at the desk only
Cons: I had to pay 377 euros as insurance although I had an Alianze insurance that I bought for 54$. I only found out about that at the desk when I arrived for pickup. This is a very costly surprise as the car rental cost less than that. I wish I knew that beforehand, I probably would have found a less costly option.

Cons: I was offered three cars similar to the one I had booked. Out of the three i picked one. There was no mention of an upgrade or extra money. When I arrived home, Sixt took money out of my account claiming I upgraded the car. They also charged me for numerous other things that I had no idea about. The customer service when I phoned up was awful and not helpful in the slightest. Over a week later they still have not released the money back to me that I gave as a deposit. I would not recommend this company.

Pros: Quick and easy with regular updates and reminderaise via email. Every worked as promised and we love the citroen ds3 with excellent spec. It was a Belgium registered car which was fun and might have given my 25 yr old daughter driving a left handed car for the first time just a little bit extra respite with other road users in the Netherlands
Cons: A very small delay at the airport as I paid by debit card in the UK, but extras (additional driver and no claim reduction) had to go on the same card and it had to be rebooted on my credit card

Pros: Agency was very accommodating when I delayed pick-up by two days. Car was fabulous! Easy pick-up and drop-off.
Cons: There appears to be an extra charge that is unclear- will be sorting that out. Would be nice to have a little more introduction to the vehicle from staff. We were unable to connect to Wi-fi but overall, the experience was not significanty impacted.

Helpful and felxible
Pros: We had booked a car that was too small for our needs and the people at Sixt were very good at helping us find a vehicle that would. The car was great and I would use their service again.

Car Rental Excellent, Kayak, not so good.
Pros: Helpful Sixt staff, especially sorting a mix up of my own doing (arising from using Kayak). Would use Sixt again.
Cons: I searched on Kayak for a car from Schipol and I didn't notice I was booking from the train station central Amsterdam, since I already knew there is a large train station at Schipol. The location results from Kayak apparently were not explicit enough for me.
