Cons: No Thrifty service in MSN like all the other rentals out of MKE

Thrifty's not my first choice
Pros: The customer service was great but the value was very poor.
Cons: The extra charges were astounding and we were charged a $60 upgrade fee because our original reservation didn't have cruise control.

Hideously long lines, burned out headlight
Pros: The price was reasonable.
Cons: Found out too late the left headlight was burned out. Was going to replace it myself but the Mazda 3 is challenging. Also it took probably an hour to make it through their check in line, meaning I HAD to drive in the dark most of the way.

They rent cars
Pros: Having a car to get around in.
Cons: Chevy cruze is a little small for me. I don't like that you don't have an attendant where the cars are, the other rental companies do.

Cons: Terrible service. I had to cancel my rental and order a different rental from a different car rental. The line was taking 2 hours to get your car.

Cons: When we arrived they didn't have the car we had booked. They wanted to charge me more for a bigger car instead.

Glad I had a reservation
Pros: I happened to be in Milwaukee this last week when the Packers and the Bears were playing. The airport was almost out of cars, but thankfully Thrifty had the one we had reserved through them.
Cons: Very long line. It took over an hour to reach the rental counter.

Average, easy, would book again.
Pros: Car was nice and clean, pick up was easy, and airport signage in MKE was good. I forgot to refuel and no one hassled me, charge wasn't as outrageous as it could have been.
Cons: Attendant at pickup was extremely nice, but did keep trying to upsell me. Separately, I paid for the $9/day Allianz insurance online, but then had separate emails and attendant asking me if I wanted additional insurance. Unclear what I had/what I could have been lacking.

Very Poor Customer service
Pros: The car
Cons: The desk clerk, the shift supervisor, the parking lot attendant. Desk Clerk spoke very bad broken english Shift supervisor sat right there and watched me suffer understanding the clerk, with out assisting. Parking Lot attendant had the audacity to approach our car and ask if we were stupid, instead of asking if she can help. I will never rent from Dollar/Thrifty again

Pros: It was located right next to National/Alamo car rental. They were able to help me out. I was happy to pay the $75 premium just to get away from Thrifty.
Cons: I waited an hour in line and they didn't even have a car ready for me. I lost $27 on the 3rd party insurance. I lost an hour of my life after 3 hours worth of delays on my flight. I missed the rehearsal dinner I was supposed to speak at. PS- A married cpl with a toddler had been waiting nearby. The gentleman repeatedly checked in for their car when I was waiting in line. They had been waiting 1-2 hrs for a mini van they had reserved weeks prior. I almost felt bad for the employees behind the counter. Totally mismanaged.

Lied about price
Pros: The Dodge Journey was fine as an automobile
Cons: The price advertised for the rental was $20 on kayak's site. Thrifty charged $40 per day for the rental, double the advertised price. Picked up at General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee. Refused to honor internet price. I'll spread the word...

Understaffed at MKE
Pros: The car was clean, fuel efficient and reasonably priced.
Cons: Thrifty is seriously understaffed in the parking garage at MKE. The front counter staff were friendly and helpful, but my car wasn't ready when I checked in and they had to wait for someone from the garage to eventually bring up a set of keys. Then when I returned the car there was one poor woman working alone in the garage to check everyone in and the lot was so full of returned cars there was no room for me to park. She was frantically running around trying to direct people, get them signed out, and move cars. It took me a half hour to get the car dropped off.

Pros: We needed an earlier pickup than expected. An employee working after hours in the exit booth was able to get us in an upgraded vehicle and on our way.

Don't do it
Pros: I tried to pick up this vehicle in Milwaukee airport. They were extremely slow and took about 30 minutes to complete the transaction. Because I was using a debit card the required two forms of identification and also wanted to check my credit score. I told him no and I went to enterprise. That was the best thing I did. Enterprise was excellent.

Pros: I got a midsize so it had plenty of room. It came with satellite radio which we loved!
Cons: We had to wait quite awhile to get the car. When we returned it, we accidentally left a few items in the car. I called but they said I had to go online. Went to the website and can't find anywhere to report lost items. Since they have my phone number and email address, you would think they would just contact you to say they found items in the car. Also had out of state plates. I hate that.

I've had better....
Cons: Reserved car was not available, offered an upgrade at my expense. Delivery counter was slow. Car was clean overall, but interior windshield had a cloudy film that created a bad glare.

Cons: Pick up was AWFUL. Waited in line for an hour, and by the time we got our car, the line was twice as long as when we arrived. The agents moved like sloths and offered no apology for the long wait. Need to improve on scheduling adequate staff with better customer service skills.

No cars available
Cons: Thrifty had no cars available when we arrived. They took our reservation and said that cars would be available in 30 to 45 minutes. That is what they told everybody who came to the desk after us. They never even said sorry. We finally had to make other arrangements.

Car OK but ridiculously long wait to pick up
Pros: Upgrade at no cost, though I think it was just because they didn't have any actual compact cars, not because they were trying to make up for the wait.
Cons: Crazy wait time for pick-up. When we arrived there was one guy working and the people he was with took something like 30 minutes with him because the car they'd reserved wasn't there. In the meantime, other people arriving to the counter had to just queue up and wait since there was no one else to serve any of them.

Pros: The brand new car (still had new car smell), cleanliness, ease of drop-off, and price!
Cons: misleading signage to pickup counter at MKE and line to get car.

Pros: I liked the car. It had low mileage and was in great shape. The counter person was very friendly. I made a mistake on my reservation and it was fixed quickly.
Cons: The drop off was kind of slow. My receipt didn't print out and I had to go to the little booth to get the receipt.

Pros: Service was good and car was great for what we needed.
Cons: The windows and car was dirty. I went through a self-serve car wash but was unable to wash the inside of the windows, must have been kids in the car prior to our use. When you're away from home you don't have the cleaning products available.

One Way Rental
Cons: I had a one way rental between Milwaukee and Detroit. Heavy penalty for one way, would love to see that end.

False Advertisement and POOR Customer Service.
Cons: I chose Thrifty because they were running a promotion that showed a Nissan Juke for around the same price i could get a compact elsewhere. When i went to pick up, they stated i had the "manager's special" and that is a compact car (Chevy Sonic, Hyundai Elantra,And a Nissan). I told them that a Juke is not the same size as those tiny vehicles and they stated that the juke is in the same class. After some back and forth and them being extremely rude they said they don't have any small SUVs or larger cars for me. When i went out to the garage to get my car, they had plenty of larger vehicles and suvs. I wasn't asking for an SUV, but something a little bigger as the Juke would not be the same size as a sonic. After getting in the elentra, it a had a fant smell of smoke, after the car was out in the sun, it was a VERY strong smell of smoke. I had to purchase 4 air fresheners to make the car usable. I will absolutley NEVER use Thrifty (or Dollar as they were the same company) again.

Pros: Counter time was reasonable,dropoff good
Cons: Had mgrs. special, was compact and ended up paying more than internet price to upgrade. Car was not washed and full sixe did not have power seats

Bait and switch
Pros: The size vehicle that would ivagrred to and reserved was not what I received. The "special " on the site would now have been $100 more.
Cons: Will not recommend this company to others.

Pros: The car was clean, the pick up was quick since I had pre-ordered online, and the rental agents were friendly. The return was easy, and the return desk agent was friendly. They can print the receipt for you right at the car, no need to walk to a return desk/office to finish the process.
Cons: No one really went out of their way to inform me of expectations, procedures or process. After paying at the registration desk, I was verbally directed to the pick up desk outside, where no one walked me to the car nor reviewed the car to ensure the condition before I took it. I had to do that myself on the form they gave me. I also had to find the car myself, so no one offered to explain to me where things were in the car or how they worked, like another car rental place did for me. I also felt the price was a little high for the time I had the car, when I had recently rented a car from another company for half the price. I would have went back to that other company, but they had no available cars when I needed one. I felt it was bare bones customer service, but the price did not reflect that.

Great start, poor ending
Pros: The rep at the counter was great. Mary was very friendly and helpful. Picking up the car was quick and easy.
Cons: The return experience was not so great. I arrived at the agreed upon return time and the rep took their sweet time to come out of the booth and then also inspecting the car. I was then informed that because it was technically 4 minutes after the drop off time, I was charged the weekday rate, for all days, which was over 3 times the rate I was quoted. After arguing that it was not my fault that it took the rep so long to get the car checked in and it was 4 minutes, they agreed to going back to the original rate but told that it was a one time thing. They were still very rude and told me "next time be a little early." Will not rent with them again.

Watch out for the insurance Scam!!!
Pros: The vehicle was great, and the price for the vehicle alone was good.
Cons: I paid for insurance through Kayak and when I picked up they said that the insurance I paid for was the incorrect one for the vehicle and said I would need a certain plan to replace it. What I didn't realize was they had charged me for the other insurance on top of the insurance I bought and their insurance was more than the rental cost itself more than doubling my bill. I called the Thrifty number and they said the counter will process the refund when I return since I already had coverage. Thrifty counter manager refused. Now I am stuck with a bill more than double what was expected!!

Pros: Fast service. I got the exact car I wanted. The price was great. The car was clean and ready to go. The only problem was finding the place and the extra service charges.

Nice small car.
Pros: The car was a nice small car and drove very well. The heater worked fine as did the cruise control. The price was great.
Cons: There wasn't much trunk space - but we only had one large suitcase. There also wasn't too much space in the back for passengers, but we only had one person in the back once for a short distance, and that worked fine.

A simple process
Pros: It was so easy to quickly rent the vehicle, which is exactly what I need after a long flight. The car was in good working order, and there where not issues while I drove it. The only real issue I had with the whole process was trying to find out the daily charge for being under 25 and renting a vehicle. I was unable to find it online, so I had to wait until I was at the desk to find out the exact cost.

Cons: We ended up paying $1,400 on $94 extended rental for two days.

Pros: Car was an upgrade. Good power and good gas mileage.
Cons: Had to wait about a half an hour to get the car, as the local agency ran out of cars.
