It is a great historic hotel with friendly staff, so stay at the Best Western or creepy clown motel. I don't want the Mizpah to be full when I try and make a reservation. ;-) Oh it's also haunted which is a plus! Could do with a mini fridge and more channels on the tv. The wifi is free but only allows for one device at a time, as if me and the wife don't have enough to argue about!
the lobby/bar areas are beautiful and like stepping back in time. The bed was comfortable. There was a guitarist that was very good at nigh in the bar. There was a small casino area with slot machines, that were fun after a long day of driving. Room was very small and hard to get around the king bed. No triple sheeting. View overlooked a parking lot and adjoining motel. Room was noisy until around 11, then quieted down. At the restaurant, my well done steak was served bloody and the veggies were cold.
Delicious cookies, clean laundry room with two washers and dryers, great restaurant referral, nice lobby with friendly staff.
Our stay was good. The staff were very helpful. Room was good other that the A/C system being noisy when it came on.
The Hi-Desert is the best place to stay in Tonopah when traveling with kids. While lacking the character of the Mizpah, the Hi-Desert is clean, comfortable, convenient, and well-priced. If you need a stop on your drive between Reno and Las Vegas, this is a very good place. Breakfast was great! Ceilings a little low, soundproofing between rooms is a little lacking.
felt fairly safe because police set speed trap in parking lot of motel. Bugs in tub tub was dirty door knob loose from door- enough room to shove a screwdriver through the hole. dead bolt didnt work room smelled bad hole in the wall with toilet paper shoved in it. light switch in bathroom didn't work had to kill a few flies after first walking into room
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was decently comfortable. The maids were loud at 7am while we were still trying to sleep, letting doors slam on the metal door stoppers, over and over and over again. They spoke quite loud about the rooms they were cleaning and patrons. I had gotten in late in the night so the loudness so early was especially hard. Probably wouldn't stay again.
Great value. Very nice rooms Casino iffy but what do you expect in Tonopah
