Location is a bit far from downtown than expected while the accomodation fee is not so much economical and the breakfast is rather expensive.
Room decor, professional staff, amenities Room was set up for two, and not three people, as was reserved. Prices for mini bar were a bit pricey. Charge for parking is unusual.
This hotel was wonderful!
a lot of space in the room.
Great location short walk to the city center and very nice and helpful staff. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Garage was a little hard to get out of with an American SUV.
Not enough towels, Plumbing problems, but taken care of.
friendly, helpful and efficient staff, good breakfast, wifi in room, good temperature control no extra pillow in the room, slightly longish walk if your purpose is the city centre (but taxis quick and cheap)
Lots of space in our "studio" room, with a sitting room as well as a bedroom. Very good parking under the hotel. The third person in our triple room had only a truckle bed, not comfortable. Service at dinner very slow.
very good breakfast poor quality of the bed, especially the pillows
There was poor reception, simply there was no one ore they where in the back and not giving attention to someone at the bar ore desk
It was comfortable with seating outside so that the children could play outside. The car park was too low for my car to fit in, even though I had paid for the use of the car park.
Very central location!
great service, nice rooms airco wasn't working properly
The comfort, breakfast and location.
Extremely good location in relationship to the town centre The hotel was more geared to business travelers tan to tourists
Excellent Hotel in heart of city. Good for shops, restaurants and Roman sites. Breakfast vast and lovely. Spa good. Staff very good and speak different languages. Cark park next door and easy to find with GPS.
Breakfast The bathroom was rather small and not 4*. I wonder what was superior about this room? It wasn't any larger than any others, the bathroom ws tiny!
Great location in the heart of the walk platz.
Although the room we booked ended up being a twin, the management upgraded us to a suite with a king size bed for a small increase in rate. All standard/superior rooms are twin beds.
the lack of internet facilities in the room brings down the standing of the hotel
Very helpfull staff, private parking which is locked at night, walking distance from center and with breakfast included in the price how can you complain!!!!
Very warm and friendly people! The room I stayed in was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was OK, good quality/price ratio.
the staff were very friendly and helpful
Good welcome. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean room. Hotel appearance did not match website in appearance or location. Towels in room worn out. N o restauran although onwebsite for evening meals. Very shabby first impressions.
The room was very comfortable
It was one of the last accommodation places to chose from Trip Advisor. Breakfast food was fresh. You get what you pay for. Accommodation really cheap very basic motel.
I found staff friendly and helpful; a good breakfast was provided. I chose the hotel for low price and location. I would describe it as cheap and cheerful. When you buy a room at one of the lowest cost hotels in the city you do not expect luxury. What I got was a small comfortable room. The downside was that my room was next to the night entrance to the hotel andimmediately opposite was a church. There was a lot of bellringing on the Sunday morning !!
very nice staff the curtain in my room was not complete
Friendly helpful owners. Interesting old dining room Rather run down
Siting on the terrace The staff was very ready, helper. The mattress of the bed was used up.
You can't beat the location, free wifi and included breakfast for the price. The best value in all my European tour.
The nature of the Eiffel and the city of Trier Nothing
Everything! Clean, Modern, Great Location, Comfortable, Good Breakfast, Helpful Staff. Parking garage was unlit at night...very, very dark! But, hey they had parking and it was right at the hotel.
Great welcome from the owner. After a long drive, help with our luggage was much appreciated. Staff were very pleasant and courteous throughout our stay.
good location (very near to Casa Chiara), good breakfast, nice garage breakfast room was too small and easy, as well as everything in hotel for the price
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was very convenient to the historic sites, shopping and restaurants in Trier. It was also close to the train station.
Staff friendly and helpful. Great location. Wireless available. Breakfast adequate. Overall excellent experience. Highly recommended. Cannot think of anything.
A small, simple and good place to stay. It is close to the old part of the city.
Location of hotel to Trier city landmarks, friendliness of staff, quiet room, cleanliness, breakfast and overall experience No complaints!
The innkeeper staff was very nice and cordial. The innkeeper did not speak English, and my parents (who stayed there with me) spoke no German, but the innkeeper was able to get her points across and provided an excellent stay there.
Comfortable basic room, very clean and satisfactory. The proprietress could not have been more friendly or helpful. The food was very good and at a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone not requiring 5* facilities
The hotel was very clean and the room, while small, looked like it had been recently renovated - it was quite nice. While the hotel did not have free parking as a rule, the owner was very nice and allowed me to park in the back area of the hotel overnight. Like most affordable European hotels, the room was quite small. However, as I was on my own, this was not a real problem.
A really excellent breakfast, unlimited good coffee and orange juice, freshly prepared fried eggs or omelette. The window coverings in the bedroom were just very sheer drapes, no curtains or blinds. No full length mirror.
The whole experience was excellent. Staff, comfort, food, service, pool, value. Everything
We have been staying in the hotel before and we returned for the good food and the ambiance of the hotel. Very warm and romantic. The beds are a bit too soft.
Overall quality of the hotel. The room provided was a suite with full separate lounge Breakfast and room service food is totally German. No concessions to visotors from other countries. OK if you like liver, or potatoes with sour cream.
Restaurant was A1 top rated. The rooms were nice and clean. The STAFF was awesome...went out of their way to help. The staff Spoke english very well. would stay again. The bus stop was 25 meters from the hotel which went into town in 5 min...a nice walk if your into fitness. location, way from downtown. But it was ok to walk 1.3 miles (not KM). not a reason not to stay
The rustic atmosphere Distance from city center
Nice location and very good food and wines in the restaurant.
Very 'old-German' in style but the rooms are large and well fitted. Even a single room has a lounge attached. No
Traditional German quality and style
Staff was very good, and the restaurant super !
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The massages and turkish baths were fantastic too. No air-conditioning which ment you had to open the windows. The busy roads and noisy cars woke us up early every morning.
Excellent service from all the Staff, and of great help in providing assistance.
Indoor swimming pool and infrared cabin for free, inhouse micro-brewery, good breakfast included, own parking facilities. Food in "Brausaal" restaurant after 22.00 hours not recommended: limited choice and preparation could be better (soup ultra-hot, baked patatoes almost burned, etc.); no separate toileteries supplied (only liquid soap).
Spacey room. Friendly staff. Nice (bier)garten with hotel's own beer and good food to relax after hot days in German Rally. We had the package containing welcome drink, one full mean and a decent bottle of beer on the road. Well worth of the extra. It is a bit too far from the center to just take a casual walk.
just far enough out of town centre
We were very impressed with the facilities, staff and food at this Hotel. We were happy to walk to and from the City although a bus does stop right outside the hotel. Would stay here again! None
Convenient location with a 15 minute walk to the town centre, comfortable room, friendly staff and good menu at reasonable prices. No
They were very friendly and ready to answer any questions we had about getting around in town.
The microbrewery that was part of the hotel. Helpful staff. It was further from the town than anticipted from the web page but we found a good path trhough local allotments that made it a pleasant walk.
Very conveneient location just on the outskirts of Trier with convenient parking and an easy bus-ride in to the city.
Location was amazing, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, I felt at home immediately.
Easy to find, free parking, friendly staff, quiet rooms. small shower cubicle.
location and the food you can't pay with travellers checks
value large amount of construction on front of building/next building March 2007
Room was good, staff very helpful when we needed somewhere secure to leave our bikes. We had our evening meals at the hotel, just need to be aware that the menu in the 'proper' restaurant is slightly different to that in the bar.
Nice spa area, friendly staff, good accessible by car, It's a bit out of town center
The location and rate.
The spa, breakfast, restaurant and location
everything, once we found it!
Friendly welcoming staff; quiet location fairly close to city; cleanliness; good food Bedroom looking 'tired' - could do with a makeover
We especially enjoyed our rooms, they were both facing the Mosel River and the old Roman Bridge. We could watch the river traffic and the water fowl that stayed on the river bank beneath our windows. It was fun and really a great setting, we felt very fortunate. We also enjoyed the Romerbrucke's dining room. The meals were exceptional, some of the very best during our entire stay in Germany! If you should stay there and eat in the dining room and like fish, order the Baked Salmon. We rented two rooms, both faced the Mosel River and The old Roman Bridge. Our rooms could not have had better views. The dining experience was superb, we enjoyed excellent meals in an attractive setting. We also appreciated the elevator. We all three enjoyed our stay and have no complaints.
The room was large and bright with a pleasant outlook across the river and breakfast was excellent - would return if back in Trier
We were pleasantly surprised that we had been given a modern suite rather than a bedroom. The facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Location,right on the river none
kind stuff, very good breakfast , 10 min to city and even internet although it was said it is not provided
Not in busy area - but within walking distance to center. Hotel staff was excellent
Good size room
Staff were very friendly and the room was large with plent of space. Clean and bright, no real view. However, the restaurant had a lovely view over the river and an easy walk to the town centre. The parking was across the road in an open air area and although there was no problem it did not seem very secure.
Clean and tidy, large rooms, easy walking distance to city centre (if the weather is dry) parking across the road from Hotel, good variety for breakfast The Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays!, a little pricey for a 3* hotel, shower cubicle grubby
Location and breakfast were good. Our room faced the street, which was noisy. If we closed the window, however, it was rather hot.
Good location The all-pervasive smell of smoke: lobby, elevators, restaurant, corridors, room (supposedly non-smoking). Hotel needs to be fumigated.
Cleanliness of the hotel, staff and facilities were good and across the road from the main square.
The view was great and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved everything nothing bad to report.
location near the city
The location and the fact that the staff were just lovely, in particular when I hurt my foot and they supplies endless ice and support The cost of breakfast but outside of this it was excellent. You could not pick a better spot to enjoy the city, day or night.
The location and view were spectacular! The beds were a little hard. Otherwise, the rooms were perfect!
the location is perfect, and we had a real feel at home feeling no remarks
A very nice hotel located at the historic gate of the ancient city.
The view looking onto Porta Nigra.
The convenience to the city
The staff were all very helpful. I found that the whole experiance was better than your guest reviews reflected, We will be returning with a larger party for next years Christmas Market!
The hotel is good, the reception floor being very nicely renovated and decorated. The rooms are quite spacious. The receptionist lady gave us a twin bed room although we booked and wanted a double bed room. We went back to her and she answered us that all the double bed rooms are occupied. Maybe booking.com should clearly make these options more clear at the booking, as it is not the first time when I assume that I will receive a double bed room and the room has twin beds instead of a large one. // We haven't taken the breakfast for 15 euro/pers. and had a very good one in the main square at "Zur Steipe" (10 euro/pers).
Parking so close by.
It was located right at one end of the Old City which made it very convenient to go out frequently without the hassle of transportation.
Friendly reception, nice room and excellent location, close to city center. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast
This is an excellent and modern hotel in a good location at a most reasonable price.
Comfortable size of the room and excellent breakfast. Not an easy walking distance from/to main station.
Hotel staff is very friendly. None
Great in-town location adjacent to many shopping, dining and sightseeing opportunities. Pool and foosball table in lobby. No air conditioning in the guest rooms made sleeping difficult.
Breakfast was good and provided a gluten free menu items.
Comfortable room with modern decor and large flat screen TV. Very helpful and welcoming reception staff. Secure hotel parking and well located adjacent to the Altstadt. Very good breakfast if a little pricey.
This hotel was undergoing some building but this did not hinder our stay, the workmen were quite and left no mess, to be honest we didnt really know that they were in the hotel. I was worried at first stight of them but this was stort lived. It was a little way out but once we found it, it was fine
good cosy place just outside the town of Trier. Good deal of sound from the vehicles/cars passing by on the street comes into the rooms, that is really disturbing in the night. If you are a light sleeper then avoid staying here.
The hospitality and willingness to help.
A very quaint, historic building that was modified to be very comfortable. Also, the evening meal and breakfast was outstanding. Really wasn't as close to the historic city as the information seemed to indicate.
Friendliness of owner and staff. No comments in this section.
Comfortable room, delicious breakfast.
The staff and hotel were were very friendly. I did not like the location of the hotel. Too far out of town.
Big Bathroom No clean
Friendly helpful staff. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Bedroom nice and clean and the staff (owners?) Location and breakfast
lokation the apartament size at brekfast they took as to the club room
The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful, Our room was spacious and delightful the breakfast was wonderful. We really loved our stay here and would reccomend it to anyone. We would like to have been able to have had an evening meal there as the food we had there was of such high quality. The location was also excellent.
Excellent hotel: modern, clean and in great location. Almost hate to mention that it is a "best value on the internet" ... prefer they do not now put their prices up. Seriously this is super value on the edge of the pedestrian area of a reasonably large, very safe and thoroughly interesting city. Rooms tops!
Good location. The place is a part of house for elderly people so it is not the best atmosphere for a vacation. When we arrived the breakfast area was presented to us however in the morning we have been kicked out from there to another room with no food in it (few other people that came later were allowed to use the breakfast area), so we had to go from one place to another to get the food. At that time exactly, the floor between those areas was washed and was slippery.
It was very unusual in that it was a residence for the elderly as well as a hotel. The room was clean and large and it had a very unusual courtyard full of sculptures and tables and gardens. The residents were very helpful. The front desk clerk was not very nice. She could have helped us find our room and didn't tell us about the afternoon refreshments.
quiet, comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful
We liked the fact you had a seperate living area and bedroom. The hotel was convenient for the centre of Trier
Walking distance to city center with great shopping places to go.
Very good room facilities (in fact they were suites), very good position, secure underground car park The 2 rooms we booked were a long way apart
Helpful reception staff;shower withno step or cabinet; choice to eat breakfast in or outsidein pleasant garden needed more than net curtains in the bedroom
Good range of items available at breakfast, and the evening meals were superb - well cooked and presented, and very generous size portions. The location directly opposite the local train station was particularly useful. None.
Is not worth 3 stars !
The decor in the hotel was done very tastefully. We loved it. The staff were also quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a wide choice and quite filling. That it was far away from the main town
Superb location and friendly staff
love3ly friendly people --good meals
Breakfast Buffet included Hot food(Scrambled Egg ) also this was self service so ideal for those in a hurry good location for rail Travellers accross road from station Dining room large portions at Dinner No Lift
Close to the motorway. Nice restaurants 15 minutes walk from the hotel. There was a very little attention at our arrival. No service. We had made a reservation for the hotel restaurant (dinner) per e-mail but had no reply and the restaurant was closed at our arrival. At our departure the bill was not completed and we received later on an extra bill - that should have been included by our departure.
Pleasant staff, reasonable room although rather dated. Rocky toilet bowl, unreliable and badly placed proximity lighting switches.
good service man No lift. I booked non-smoking room, but the smoke still went to the room from the bar on one floor.
The availability of low-cost, street parking immediately opposite to the hotel (there was very limited and very difficult parking at the hotel itself) The strong smell of spiced sausages all the way up the stairway (the hotel premises are shared with a butcher's shop). This was, however, not a problem within the rooms.
The staff was just wonderful
Good location. Nice helpful staff. Clean rooms
I liked the waiting room in the front of the hotel. (Newspaper and coffee available). Place had a laudramat. Staff was very helpful. Parking lot is extremely small (maybe 2 or 3 cars can fit)
Central location, secure parking A cooked breakfast would have been nice
The staff were pleasant and helpful. They placed a telephone call for me and allowed me to leave my bags at the hotel for a few hours after I checked out. Also, their breakfast buffet was extensive and generous.
quiet, nice people, large breakfast buffet, very clean room bathroom was poorly lit, flesh smell due to the the butchery downstairs
The breakfast was very good. We received a free town map. Easy to walk to the town centre. There was no lift in the building and we were on the top floor (3 flights), not suitable for people with mobility issues. The room was freezing, we couldn't get the heating to work, had to sleep in bed socks and thick clothes. There is not adequate parking. We had to park on the road which was chargeable as there was no space left in the car park.
Friendly staff, clean room and very good breakfast
Room was clean and beds comfortable. Practical bathroom. While travelling around this is what counts after a long day. As pensioners, carrying luggage up 3 flights of stairs is always not easy after a day of travelling and a lift would have helped. Maybe I should have asked for rooms on on a lower level.
Noysy in the breakfastroom, and not så cleen tables
Beautiful! We stayed here with our four kids and had two triple rooms. They were clean, spacious and newly renovated in a beautiful old building. The location was great, a minute walk from the Black Gate.
Great location Uncomfortable beds and kind of noisy,(street noise and thin walls).
Nothing Staff were very rude and very unfriendly!
Very laid back. Twin hotel across even nicer. Most staff very helpful Car park is 250 yards away in gated area. Need to unload luggage at hotel and then drive into car park. Leaving hotel involves opposite problem. When we arrvied lift wasn't working for at least three hours so luggae stayed in lobby until 7.00pm.
absolutely central location, friendly staff, styish atmosphere, free parking lot.
Location and staff could here people in next room over.
The nice shape of the room. I think we had the nicest room in the hotel. The breakfast was nice and cosy. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. The only thing I didn't like was the (very) long time we had to wait before we got our drinks in the cafe-part, while all other people in the restaurant were served immediatly. (By the way: I think that everything you don't like is a complaint; so how can you say what you don't like whitout complaining???)
The location was pretty good. The staff was friendly and told us a few restaurants that the locals go to. Breakfast was good. The area that the parking is in (about half a block behind the hotel and across the street) looked a little sketchy to walk through at night. The parking is enclosed with gate access only so nothing happened to our car.
The room was clean, but a bit small. We slept very well. The breakfast was good, but I suggest you eat before 8:30 in the morning. If you come afterwards it can take some time for them to replenish the food. Otherwise than that, it was great, they even serve champagne for breakfast! The parking is also well taken care of, you park for free which is also an added bonus. There is also free WIFI all through the hotel, but we didn't make use of it. We had our dog with us and they also didn't charge us for her. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and helpful.
Almost everything. And I say almost because perfection doesn't exist. Lovely staff, great breakfast, excellent food in the restaurant and really pretty rooms (we were in the new building). It's an hotel managed by a family which also are winemakers. And they make a really good stuff!. Besides the hotel itself, location is just amazingly bucolic. Having WiFi in the room should be a plus.
Stylish room, good service, fine food in the gourmet restaurant and in the more traditional restaurant.
peaceful, quite,in a beautiful village. great breakfast, had very good dinners on the terrace. Shabby rooms. We moved three times before we got a twin room.No night time curtains on windows which created a problem.Overall this is not a hotel where we felt we were home from home as the overall feeling was far to formal and the staff seemed under pressure to behave like robots.
The restaurant is first class ! And the staff is very nice
The new wing of Becker's is very attractive. The Restaurant is very good. The breakfast is particular good. The location is quiet and peaceful, facing the vineyard and is only 10 mins drive from the city centre. Good for a weekend retreat. All photos on the website are taken from the new wing. I think the photo for each room price should at least matched, ie the photo should be more specific on either the old or the new rooms.
Excellent service Need tea making facilities and mini bar
Nice staff and a very good restaurant, which was my reason for my visit.
Quiet location but a close walk about 10 minutes into Trier and there is a tour bus so you can get to see all the sights at leisure!
they downgraded my room upon arrival, bath room in downgraded room has an unacceptable size/configuration shower. They did nothing to compensate my loss.
The room is very spacious and clean Breakfast was very basic and not in the design part of the hotel. Staff was not too friendly during breakfast.
food very good
The location, the atmosphere, but especially the kindness and care of the personnel No
The location is excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite substantial and particularly the sauna, steam room and swimming pool are marvelous. We stayed for a few nights and enjoyed watching the sunset from the sauna!! The pillows were too soft and the bed wasn't very comfortable, it was just ok.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good pool and sitting area. Comfortable room and facilities.
Excellent service, friendly helpful staff. Sound of passing trains- lack of soft pillows on bed
There was not a single thing we didn't like. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff were exceptional, the facilities outstanding and I just can't say enough good things about this hotel and the people who work there.
Sauna+swimming pool were very nice. Tapping noise of heating radiator in room during the first night (although it was solved after complaining at the desk); bathrobes not in room; slippers had to be paid for.
Everything was excellent
The jaccuzi was fabulous. The staff very friendly and helpful. The most comfortable bed. The parking was very cramped.
Beautiful hotel, great spa facilities, awesome breakfast, staff is very helpful and friendly. Amazing city views from rooms. They don't have enough parking for all guests, and there is not alot of street parkingnearby either.
It's really lovely and cosy hotel. Ewverything is very clean. Breakfast buffet is very various and the staff is very kind and helpful.
New facilities, well equipped rooms. New pool & sauna. Helpful & friendly staff and a good breakfast. Poor location for visiting the city centre; long walk across busy roads. Didn't quite seem 4 star, dining room was not attractive. Rather limited parking facilities.
Very good location for site see of Trier. Great parking in the city. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Will recommend and would stay again. Our room as right next to the receiption desk and was a little noisy from people checking in and out. When I opened my door people in the lobby could look into my room and see the bed and anyone in it.
the quietness of the hotel itself, its immaculateness and clean architectural lines (it was a pleasure to ride in the modern glass lift, the corridors were simply and tastefully designed, the showers -- as a previous hotel guest said -- were superb). The staff were friendly and helpful. i had to keep my window shut at night (not my usual habit) to keep out the occasional noise of loud passersby on Fleischstrasse throughout the night. I understand that rooms facing the inner courtyard would not have this problem -- but they are all double (and i booked a single)
Very nice hotel staff, hotel is located in the city center, elevator, underground parking, a beautiful dining room, a varied breakfast with a large selection, hotel highly recommended.
This place was clean, somewhat new, and the staff was professional and courteous. The breakfast was very nice too. Good value for the money.
Excellent location, easy cheap parking, very clean and comfortable, great breakfast Nothing, it was lovely
being in the town centre but having parking available at reasonable cost. Rooms and whole hotel finished to good quality fittings, beds, bathroom etc. Could possibly be a little noisy at night if you stay in a warm season and want to open the window. Closed in cold weather it was not a problem. Would have liked to be able to get a hot drink in the hotel, but this is not available except at breakfast time.
Central place in the city
In the ttown centre. Public car park approx 200 yds away approx 10 euros per 24 hrs. Arrived on the Thursday as planned and booked last November 2007, the hotel , was not aware of our Booking !!! We were allocated a room for two nights and moved for the third .
Central location - parking facilities - staff very efficient - very modern room
