Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Useful, informative email messages from the hotel prior to arrival, and assistance with transport to hotel. Extremely friendly reception by staff on check-in. Incredibly helpful, cheerful and competent team, providing advice and prompt service throughout my stay. Hotel decor and ambiance fresh, contemporary and elegant. Room in excellent condition, good bed, nice bathroom, great view, balcony, tv + movies on demand (free) etc etc. Ski hire and skilift pass available in hotel, at competitive price. Ski locker included. Located on the piste - no tedious walks to/from ski ski-lifts. Within easy walking distance to shops, bars, cafe's. Michelin star restaurant within the hotel. Fantastic, generous breakfast buffet included. Deserves a Michelin star as well in my opinion. Altogether this hotel gives true meaning to the term "five star". It sets the standard for comfort, convenience, elegance and personal service, for other places to aspire to! There is just no hassle at all and you can totally enjoy the beautiful ski experience which Val Thorens and the 3 Valleys have to offer. My stay included a free room upgrade and a nice gift on departure. I have been spoiled in many world-class hotels and resorts but this place still exceeded my expectations. Certainly my best ski-resort experience ever.
Cons: Can't think of anything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great ski-in, ski-out location. Cool modern design.
Cons: Wifi shockingly bad. Both in room and in lobby. The spa really small and crowded.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The only downside were a few delays getting our drinks when waiting around the bar. Everything else was excellent! I have no doubt this is the best hotel in Val Thorens, if not the entire 3 valleys area.
Cons: Slow service at the bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A truly unbelievable experience. From the sympathy of all the staff to the comfort of the room and hotel services this has been a great experience. We felt instantly at "home" with the kindness and overwhelming availability of everyone that works at the hotel. The hotel has everything you need for a perfect winter/snow vacation. The bar and sundeck have an amazing atmosphere. The Spa has a lot of options and makes the perfect ending for a day of skiing or a day of relaxation and recovery. There is no need to go out for meals as the hotel has several options with excellent food and service (including a Michelin Star restaurant). The staff at the in-house ski shop where also amazing providing all the help and tips to enjoy the mountain in the best way. I absolutely loved our stay at the Pashmina Le Refuge and if I go back to Val Thorens there is no doubt that this will be my first choice again.
Cons: There was nothing about the hotel that I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place to stay in Val Thorens!! Beautiful hotel, with a Superb staff that will go beyond your expectations to make you feel at home and happy. You can go straight to the hotel to the slopes from the ski shop where they will have your gear ready for you as soon as you check in, lovely people there too!! You have to try the restaurant Les Explorateurs! Beautiful food! Where else would you find a Michelin starred restaurant on the slopes?. Had breakfast in my room every day! Don’t miss having that with the breathtaking views!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Uncomfortable bed pillows and duvet ... if I go again I would take my own pillows
Altapura - Val Thorens - Building
2
9.3 Excellent (400 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Limited parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Position and facilities. Food v good
Cons: Nil really. Just need notices on sauna doors to day floors are super hot , too hot ! Need slippers
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, comfortable rooms with water delivered every day Staff superb from the front desk through to the chefs at breakfast / well managed (manager herself seems excellent and seems to really care) & run - nothing feels too much trouble and they all seem to have a smile on their faces. Some of the best service attitudes I've experienced Shuttle service handy as location is down the hill from the centre Excellent Spa
Cons: Ridiculously expensive evening buffet in the restaurant - would suit people who want to eat as much as possible to get their "value". Also, a cup of tea in the bar was around €6! Feels a bit much / taking advantage of it being a 5 star. Otherwise good hotel. Unable to set temperature in the room - need to inform reception! But at least this is apparently for eco reasons. Ski lockers convenient but a bit small Steam room door locked my friend in and needs to be replaced/safety alarm fitted. The hotel did compensate for this, but I do hope they've changed the door handle system/fitted alarm.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a good hotel. Good room. Good food. This hotel, as others have said, is all about the staff, they are fantastic.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome and all the staff without exception were really friendly throughout our stay. Right on the ski slope and ski hire available on site. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Nice big room with lovely view of the mountain
Cons: Difficult to find when we arrived late at night. We ended up using the map on Booking.com website as the link from the hotel website gave us Google maps without the hotel marked on it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My son had an accident tobogganing and the hotel went far beyond anyone’s expections to help us. Even before that we loved th staff, the food (we don’t normally eat buffet) and our room was very comfortable. When it matters and people go out of their way, that is exceptional service!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The hotel was fantastic, service first class and food excellent
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall ambeinacw and the Helpful staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: place lower employees
Cons: Absolute Absence of Quality. The level of room furniture and its maintenance corresponds to the ruining hostel. Super is also a restaurant manager. His brisk bodrost will reliably drive you away from breakfast. For 5 * you have to go elsewhere.
Hotel Koh-I Nor - Val Thorens - Building

9.0 Excellent (325 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville? This hotel has facilities measuring 200 square feet (18 square meters), including a meeting room. 9.3 Excellent
Cons: I didn’t like that the concierge and shuttle were not available atter 11 pm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Very comfortable beds.
Cons: The shower
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel makes skiing super convenient for you. 1) It is ski-in / ski-out and is just off a fairly mainstream run, so easy to get to. 2) The hotel has a ski shop on the ground floor, with really nice, knowledgeable staff, and you literally ski-in/ski-out of the ski shop. 3) There is a ski boots/clothes lockers and drying area (right outside of ski shop). 4) You can buy your ski passes from the front desk. The hotel staff went above and beyond to help us. I would like to thank the hotel's van driver especially. After my friends and I ski'd to Meribel for the day, we could not get back to Val Thorens because of the lifts being closed due to windy conditions (didn't realise all 6 lifts/gondolas from Meribel to VT were closed for the day)...so we ended up down in the town of Les Menuires. With taxis either not answering us or telling us it was not possible to pick us up, we called the hotel and the Van driver came and picked us up from Les Menuires and took us to Val Thorens. This was a lifesaver. The driver also took me to my shuttle bus pick-up when there was not a lot of time. The reception was also nice, as we could extend our room one add'l night and they also checked us out at odd hours. Anyways - all in all, this hotel is pretty nice and if you're going on a ski trip - it makes everything super convenient for you.
Cons: There is no thermostat in the room, and we found the rooms to be too hot so had to keep opening the door to let some cold air in. This is probably just a personal preference thing, but I would have rather had a rain shower as opposed to a bathtub with shower (the bathroom was still nice though).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We liked almost everything. I would even say that hotel mostly exceeded our expectations, except 2 minor things: breakfast (from my POV selection might be better for 5*) and heating in the room (in our case, heater was just warm). The rest was exceptionally good: service, staff, ski room. It's super easy to get to hotel back from slopes: just take Plein sud or Pionniers lift and then go a little bit downhill
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service, perfect spa , ski in and out ! Very modern and new Will be back for sure
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with lots of service. People are very professional. I will stay there again for sure. Love it!
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food, staff very helpful... spa treatments amazing
Cons: Beds a little hard
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent
Cons: It was quite pricey
6.8 Good
Pros: Easy on-slope off-slope access. The personnel in the ski shop were really helpful and happy to assist with any questions. The luggage assistance was on point. General manager is 100% amazing and the hotel should train more people to be like him. Cleaning services were ok even tho sometimes they forgot to put some towels. But that wasn’t an issue. In the restaurant there were 2 boys: Florian/Florence who should be advanced to restaurant manager. His people’s skills were over the top and he did everything he could to fix the problems his maganer wasn’t able to fix. And it was another young waiter who was really polite and always assisted me in the best way he could. Top employees from my perspective. Bulgarian woman from the reception was very nice and always looked forward to helping me with all the problems I encountered. By the end of the stay , all receptionists were nice to me. Probably because they got used to seeing me daily. Cuban bartender deserves a raise. Piano player was great!
Cons: The breakfast buffet was poor. I was there for 3 weeks and I really ate only eggs because there wasn’t that much diversity. The first week they weren’t able to cook a good omelette. It was always uncooked on one side. And it took really long to get an omelette. In a 5* hotel with a room over 1000€/night, I wasn’t expecting them to clean the tables with vinegar+water. There are professional BIO products for cleaning, that don’t have any scent. The restaurant manager, the woman, is really fake. She isn’t helpful and she’s acting very rude. I asked the personnel numerous times to stop cleaning the tables around me when I’m eating because I couldn’t stand the vinegar smell. What does the Restaurant’s Manager do? She comes and cleans the table near me with vinegar, spraying vinegar on my hand and phone and in my omelette that I waited for over 20minutes. This after I complained 2-3 times, to HER, that I cannot eat if I smell vinegar. She couldn’t care less. I know it sounds that I’m to pretentious, but I don’t find it normal in a 5* hotel to be disturbed 20 days in a row by the same thing, in the restaurant, destroying my morning. I found a living maggon on one of the oysters on friday’s half-board dinner. They did apologize, but I couldn’t care less to be honest. I did pay for luxury, not for uncleaned mollusks. At the Le Diamant Noir restaurant, we were charged for a 1.5L champagne instead of a 0.75one, and if we wouldn’t have checked the bill and just charge it on the room, we wouldn’t notice. It is not normal at a restaurant like that, to be charged for something you didn’t buy. And at the end the waiter didn’t even say good evening because we didn’t give him a good tip. Maybe he should have at least apologize for the mistake they did on our bill, but of course he didn’t.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, fantastic food, and room was perfect with our 3 years old
Cons: A bit far from ESF but shuttle at our disposal so great experience still!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff were all wonderful. the food was amazing. the location is great.
Cons: our bathroom smelt slightly. we were staying in the linked apartments
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant staff
Cons: Return from the slopes was complicated. The city maps of Val Thorens are poor. Better maps showing how to get back to the hotel at the end of the day would be useful.
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect ski in/out, very spacious apartment in a great position.
Cons: Kitchen was a little lacking in equipment (lack of egg lifter and pans) but a very minor problem, over all it was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was much larger than we were expecting and had a cozy fireplace in the living room. Each bedroom had a bath or shower in it plus an extra bath in the hallway. There were 2 separate toilets and a well equipped kitchen. We were happy to take advantage of the "fondu set" upon request and made a great dinner for 6. The ski in-ski out access couldn't be better. There's a large ski room with individual lockers (to match each apartment #) that has multiple boot warmers inside and plenty of room for skis/snowboards on the 5th floor, just next to the path to the slope. The receptionist was very helpful and informative. We were able to park in the hotel's own parking garage located next to the entrance and elevator. I'd advise pre-booking parking as there are only 6 spaces available but in case it's full, there's a central Val Thorens parking garage across the street. I'd highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back! Thanks so much!
Cons: There weren't any standard kitchen ingredients (salt, pepper, olive oil etc) available or cleaning supplies (dish soap, sponge, paper towels or trash bags) on hand so we had to purchase them the next morning since we checked in a bit late. Other than this, everything was fantastic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Direct access to the slopes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Alex went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Even took us on a tour of the village! The location is near some of the best restaurants and cafes in the village. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was up to date. Plenty of space for multiple families.
Cons: You must be in shape to make it back to the chalet every night
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartment, Great bakery delivery service
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location in the heart of the resort. Spacious living area. Laura on reception could not have been more helpful. Ski in and out location. Bakery facility with bread & croissants delivered to your door every morning.
Cons: Some of the fittings are looking tired. At the start of the week the dishwasher had broken from housing and the oven was old and not working properly, but both were fixed during our stay. The towels were also very thin and old - probably best to bring a backup.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had plenty of room and the ski in and out was excellent. Staff worked to resolve and help at every opportunity.
Cons: No appropriate information on how to get there from the bus drop off. The location map was inadequate. Long way from ski school with limited options if bus service wasn’t working (as happened). Sauna was great but times were erratic. Same towels for a week stay not great. Option for new/change of towels expensive
6.8 Good
Pros: Enjoyed access to sauna and pool in Hermione. Bakery delivery and rental of fondue sets were appreciated. Good size apartment and good ski access..
Cons: Beds were rather hard and apartment was overheated even though we asked for heating to be reduced. Kitchen/equipment not cleaned to a very high standard and some essential items missing e.g. Heatproof cooking utensils
6.3 Good
Pros: Location on slope Helpfull staff Spacious appartment livingroom Nice views from balcony and windows
Cons: The heat. The appartment was crazy insane hot in evening and night and nothing to do about it. Sleeping therefore was terrible unless you open window with -20 :|
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spacious appartment which large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Great bread service, ski-pass service and ski rental service (delivery and pick-up at the appartment). The lady at the reception was ever so nice and always very helpful! When one of the shelves in the refridgerator turned out to be broken upon arrival, which couldn't be fixed, we received a whole new refridgerator within the hour!
Cons: A bit of a sewer-smell when we checked in to the appartment. They gave us an air spray for that which I thought was a bit weird. But we did not smell it anymore afterwards. The ski-in option on the 5th floor was a bit too steep and slippery, but good opportunity to ski-in at the ground floor and take the elevator up to the 5th floor ski-room.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location incredible for ski in and out. Pool and spa are excellent too after a day on the slopes..
Cons: Bar costs are extortionate - €10 per shot of their cheapest spirits which may explain why the bar is quiet in the evenings..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel.Location is perfect, right in the middle of the resort. Ski in and out and close to shops, restaurants and bars. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely terrace for apres ski drink with a view of the slopes. The family rooms are lovely and spacious. 9.3 Excellent
Pros: The overall friendliness of all the young easy going. Staff
Cons: Booking .com only get the basement rooms which have very little or no view at all , There is a very strong smell of sewer/drains in the corridor in the basement which you have to pass through every time to get to your room , the smell fortunately was not in our room itself or I would have checked out On this point that we can only get the basement rooms via booking .com I will not book through you again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room we had was noisy as it was in the basement, but the hotel manager was amazing and sorted everything out - would love to come back and stay for another ski trip! The hotel is right on the door step of the bars and restaurants, and the hotel bar was one of the best in the entire resort! Highly recommend!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place and Staff all very helpful. Very lively and good selection of Vegetarian food.
Cons: The bar service not great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is fantastic! The rooms are very clean and the beds are really comfy. The staff are very friendly too! This is my second stay at the hotel and will be returning next year.
5.8 Okay

Cons: Awful smell of sewerage in the hall to the room. Room on -1 level with tinny window
7.5 Good
Cons: The narrow beds and tired and dirty carpets
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for ski in ski out. In lively area with lots of bars, good for youngsters. Very friendly helpful staff. Buzzy bar in evenings, great pizzas. Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
Cons: Our balcony was snowed in and we couldn't open door but the manager gave us free breakfast for week to make up for it so pleased with that! :)
6.3 Good
Pros: Bar and restaurant are nice with a good selection of cocktails and food.
Cons: The staircase and lower ground floor where our room was based had a horrible stench through our entire stay. The hotel was aware of this and we had to just put up with it. Also, the rooms are directly below the bar and hence remain noisy with people walking around in the bar with ski boots and dropping things through till very late at night and again start to get noisy before 5am.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great price for location
Cons: You have to expect to fall asleep with earplugs in because that bar/deck is the most happening place in town. But they close it late at night.

Pros: Stayed before last year and came back this year. Same room... ideal for location and offers fair value for money. Ski room could do with some boot heaters but you get what you pay for.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Check out procedure when have to gather all the towels and bed sets and take them to the reception
7.5 Good
Pros: We have stayed at these apartments many times before in previous years. The block is ideally situated- definitely ski in/ ski out. We felt that the apartments are a little tired and need refurbishing. Bath was very small and needs to be bigger. The staff are very friendly and good.
Cons: Bath too small Apartments need to be refurbished
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and straight to the slopes
Cons: Sofa bed not great and pillows too worn out
6.8 Good
Pros: Shoebox
Cons: Room was tiny
6.8 Good
Pros: Convenient location, with Spar supermarket underneath. Easy for ski in / ski out, and has good ski room with sensibly sized lockers.
Cons: Found after searching for 'large double bed', so double sofa bed was unexpected. Apartment on the compact side, and bunk beds relatively short - even for the Alps.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed the ski-in ski-out aspect of it, and the proximity to supermarkets and restaurants in the area. It was only a few minutes away from the bus station and that made the whole trip a lot easier. Staff was very friendly during check in despite large crowds, and the room met all expectations. A great value stay, and would definitely recommend.
Cons: Some things didn't work in the apartment, such as one of the electricity outlets as well as the microwave. This didn't prove to be a huge issue as the hobs and dishwasher were working fine,
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Very dirty room, sofa bed not comfortable for sleeping
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of our apartment and the view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming place. Lots of care has gone into the decor.

7.5 Good
Pros: This 3 star hotel was perfect for our stay. It was clean, warm, welcoming and comfortable. Our room was spacious with a big window that had a beautiful view of the slopes.
Cons: The breakfast could have been better. They had limited choice of items. No fresh fruit salad. The breakfast was NOT bad but it could definitely have been better. We have stayed in other 3 star hotels in other ski resorts that offered a wide variety of breakfast options. All types of eggs done to order. Huge fresh fruit salads and a wide variety of cheese and meats. But again the breakfast was ok. And it would not put me off staying at this lovely hotel. It is definitely not a modern glass and chrome hotel like so many of the new Val Thorens hotels. It is a wooden cosey hotel that you could find in any Austrian resort.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: great location Very comfortable
Cons: nothing
7.0 Good
Cons: Room to hot Wanted £50 for a late check out when room was not booked that night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and closeness to the slopes and village center.
Cons: Poor sound isolation, i.e. noice from other rooms and the ground floor.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff were helpful. The steam and sauna facilities were good. The view and the room were nice.
Cons: The pillows were not the best. Breakfast was somewhat limited. The boot room needs a makeover and boot dryers. Overall struggle to see value for money when spending over €3,000 for a week of Bed and Breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, ski room puts you a short ski along a path to the main pistes. Returning to the hotel after a day’s skiing is a short walk from the main square. Short walk to a number of bars, restaurants and shops. Adequate parking outside to drop off bags prior to parking the car further down the mountain and a straightforward bus journey back up to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful with allowing us to use the luggage room before check in and after check out.
