Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff and the room and the bed.
Cons: Possibly the food could have been better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We enjoyed the garden and lounge sitting at cozy tables while playing cards or dining on the fabulous breakfast and hor d’oeuvres prepared by their amazing chef! The staff catered to our every need and even made sure my friend dairy free baked every day!
Cons: There was no assistance offered with our luggage.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast Comfortable bed Location
Cons: No elevator Not a problem for us but steep stairs with no elevator would have been good to know ahead of visit for some people
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Abigail’s offers a level of service and comfort rarely seen these days for the price value of the room.
Excellent 10.0
The rooms were spotless and the breakfasts was delicious. The central location made touring easy. Highly recommended. The staff were so welcoming and caring. The room we stayed in so beautiful. The location is well within walking distance to the inner-harbor of Victoria. We had a great stay. We stayed in this fabulous hotel, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The service during our stay was faultless. Every member of the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The care to detail exceeded our expectations in every way
Excellent 10.0
Our later remain at Abigail’s was a rampage spend for our to begin with visit to Victoria. We cherished everything around it. The room was open and delightfully beautified, the bed exceptionally comfortable, and the tub expansive and welcoming. Breakfasts were delightful and the evening appetizers were shifted and plentiful. I adored the blueberry biscuits and messaged a ask for the formula. It was sent to me and I can’t hold up to create them! All in all, Abigail’s is very conceivably the foremost comfortable and delightful put we have ever remained. I would too like to specify that we had booked a remain at Abigail’s final summer. Tragically, the day some time recently we were to take off for excursion, my spouse had an mischance coming about in numerous wounds that avoided us from traveling. Abigail’s discounted our store with no bother. I truly acknowledged this as I was managing with cancelling plans whereas my spouse was hospitalized. Gratefully this year’s excursion went off without a hitch.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. One of the best hotel I've stayed at. Their staff was very accommodating and always happy serving the guests. They were so professional, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts on the patio, and the afternoon snacks were excellent, with 4 different dishes to choose from. One of our favorite dishes was the cold melon and cucumber soup that so tasty and refreshing. It is also in a great location for walking to Victoria’s downtown and waterfront. The rooms were all charming and absolutely spotless. We have more to explore in Victoria and when we return we will definitely be staying here.

Excellent 8.5
We stayed here for one night. This is the first B&B either of us have stayed at. They were able to accommodate an early check in, which helped out. The room was nice and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, but I already expected that from other reviews. The service was outstanding. The morning breakfast was also very good. The location was quiet and a healthy walk to downtown. It seemed a long walk to any of the restaurants of at least 15 minutes, so if you are looking to be a short walk to the action, you might consider other locations. Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed it.
Excellent 10.0
Enjoyed staying at Abigail's. The Sunflower Room was very cute and comfortable. The employees were very courteous, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a joy and delicious. Everything was clean and uncluttered. Internet access was a plus because my cell phone did not work in Canada and I was able to sift through important emails & contact family at home. Victoria was absolutely beautiful with flowers in full bloom and Abigail's exterior and landscaping was comparable to pictures in fairy tale books. The recommendations we received were met & more. I recommend this very pleasant 'fairy tale hotel' and I would like to return many times.
Excellent 8.5
They have truly exceptional staff during our stay. They were very helpful and nice in every way. We loved the lovely afternoon appetizers in the cozy sitting room and the fabulous breakfasts in a charming dining room. The room was well appointed, beautifully decorated with the best towels I have ever had in a hotel. The staff gave wonderful recommendations and activity guides. It was an awesomely relaxing stay. One of the best hotel experiences I ever had.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful ornate rooms and common areas, without feeling old fashioned. Clean and well kept. Service all around was top notch. Catered to our needs, friendly and communicative without being intrusive. Perfect! Location is fantastic, just minutes from downtown, parliament, the water, Cook St. Village and Dallas Road walkway.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice, the staff is very helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good and the afternoon snacks also.
Cons: Nope

Excellent 10.0
I'm a frequent visitor to Victoria (for business) and recently spent four days at the Magnolia. The warm welcome from the front desk staff confirmed I was in for a treat. I loved my room, windows on both sides, so I had a lot of lovely sunshine while working at the desk. The fireplace made my room cozy and homely (will definitely will ask for a room with fireplace again). It was an easy, leisure walk to all my appointment, and at the end of the day, the cocktails at the hotel restaurant was a delight. Yes I will be back!
Excellent 10.0
Rooms are gorgeous and super luxurious. Location is fantastic, a few short walking blocks from the central harbor. Continental breakfast is included and is really fantastic, not your typical continental. Magnolia Hotel is a bit pricey but is a great hotel. Didn't use the Aveda spa but heard it is great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the fact that this hotel decided to invest in its guests, rather than on a large impressive lobby that everyone just walks through anyways. Appreciated the bottled water and fresh fruit placed in our room each afternoon. All in all, a great hotel that makes you feel comfortable for choosing an alternative to the large hotel chains.
Excellent 10.0
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel!! The room was very nice and spacious with comfortable beds. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. We also somehow had turn-down service and would discover new chocolates and our beds turned down when we returned to our room later in the afternoon. Magnolia is also in a perfect location close to the water, shopping, restaurants, etc. We didn't take advantage but they have a spa too. Would highly recommend this hotel to others.
Excellent 10.0
The hotel is well located with an easy walk to the harbor. Great place to see the fireworks on Canada Day. It is very comfortable and quiet and I would heartily recommend it to others. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent with great service, great food, and good wine selection. The front desk had a lot of great recommendations for local restaurants. We also enjoyed a nice dinner at hotel’s restaurant The Courtney. We’ve already recommended The Magnolia to our friends and family.
Excellent 10.0
Don't believe I have ever felt that a hotel stay was perfect, until our recent stay at the Magnolia. The hotel itself is lovely. The lobby is small, but welcoming, with beautiful fresh flower arrangements. There is also coffee and tea available all day, which was a pleasant touch after a chilly walk. Our room was tastefully decorated, comfortable, and spotless. The bathroom was well appointed. The hotel has many things going for it, inviting surroundings and convenient location, but what really sets this hotel apart, is the amazing staff. Every staff member we encountered was kind, friendly, and helpful. This includes front desk, housekeeping, and food services. Special thanks to Peter and Maralyn, and especially Shane, His smile and helpful suggestions brightened our days. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.
Excellent 10.0
It was for me only a business trip, so one night stay we had. Amazing interior of the perfectly decorated rooms. Huge bathroom with shower and bath tub facility. The Spa room was a dream come true. Breakfast also perfect with local products. Next stay, hopeful with my family. Regards Rooftop for dinner and functions would be a total delight!
Excellent 10.0
I loved the small size of the hotel (there are only 64 guest rooms) and the excellent location. Everything is within walking distance - the harbour waterfront, the Royal BC Museum, Imax theatre, dozens of great restaurants, and shopping. We didn't have a vehicle and found we didn't need one for most of our stay. The hotel has an arrangement with Budget (which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel) whereby guests get a 15% discount. The rooms are large and the bathroom is spacious. There is an extensive selection of quality toiletries provided, most of which are by L'Occitane. The mattress is on the soft side. The hotel restaurant is being gutted and renovated, so breakfast is provided in one of the meeting rooms. There is a good selection of breads and baked goods, hot oatmeal, cold cereals, whole fruit, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs. I happened to ask if any of the baked goods were gluten-free. None of them were, but that very day, after my enquiry, staff sourced gluten-free bread and purchased a dedicated toaster. I hadn't asked them to do this, so I was very touched to find they had gone out of their way to accommodate me. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return in the future. I made use of the gym. It is well equipped with an infrared sauna. One drawback is there is no pool or hot tub/whirlpool at this hotel. Also, we were woken up on the Friday night by the party goers. We were on the 2nd floor so it may not be an issue for higher floors and it is the party season so this may not have been a normal weekend. The other thing to take note of if you are staying for business is that they gave me the discounted rate however charged me extra for my spouse. I come to Victoria several times a year on business and this is actually the first time a hotel has charged for my spouse.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Rooms are nice, modern. Beds/bedding comfy. Big bathroom, tub. Front desk really helpful. I didn't hear noise from other guests, but it was mid-week, so that might be a factor. Turn down service.
Cons: Continental breakfast wasn't included.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location, rooms, service.
Cons: Nope

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Jen is an amazing host. Without ever being intrusive, she is friendly and very helpful. The house is historic and lovely. If you don’t like squeaky floors and noisy door latches, there is a Marriott in town. If you like charm along with comfort and friendliness, this is your place. We loved the location - 10 minutes from downtown yet in a very quiet neighborhood. Breakfasts are outstanding. Each day Jen makes something different but delicious. The room and bathroom are cozy but comfy and perfectly clean. We will be back!
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean and comfortable historic house in a great neighbourhood. Only 10 minute walk to all the action in the Inner Harbour and to beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Nice to have free parking, though we walked everywhere. Good breakfast too, and a very nice host.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pet friendly
Good 7.0
Pros: The restaurant vouchers for beer flight and truffles and the breakfast. Made the high price feel a bit justified.
Cons: I was disappointed with the advertised soaker tub. It was a basic bathtub with jets. I was disappointed that booking.com didn't have photos of the rooms that corresponded with the room number booked. We were also promised champagne as it was our anniversary and we did not receive any.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast and location were amazing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: What an amazing spot! I've always wanted to visit Spinnakers and can't believe haven't until now. Loved the special included extras (welcome flight of Spinnaker's beers & homemade chocolates at night in the pub and delicious full breakfast menu offerings in the morning brought to our room.) Our suite was so bright, spacious and comfy with ocean views all round.
Cons: No complaints at all :)
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was amazing, service was also amazing. Will be coming again soon
Cons: I was a little disappointed in the pictures shown to the room we got. There was not even a mini fridge or microwave. However the service and employees made up for that rather easily.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Fully enclosed yard for my two dogs! It's not always easy to have a staycation anywhere with dogs, so this was just fabulous. We had our own space, and they had their own space, lol 💓 Secondly, the bed! what a great bed, comfort deluxe 👍👍👍
Cons: The scones run out too quickly 😋😇
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Awesome place, we love it. Old heritage house with character. Staff are wonderful. Location is perfect. Food is wonderful too. Love the breakfast, the view, and when we couldn’t make breakfast times for medical reasons, they swapped for lunch with no problems. Our second, but definitely not our last visit.
Excellent 9.6
The staff welcomed us with hospitality that was exceptional! Clean rooms...food exceptional! Extras ...amazing breakfast....set in a quiet and serene scenic location! Can’t wait to return!

Pros: The hotel is right across a side street from the Parliiament Building and very close to nice restaurants, the waterfront, and tour buses. The room with two queen beds was spacious enough to be comfortable for a mother and her two adult daughters.
Cons: Although there was a nice balcony, the plastic balcony chair seemed to be disintergrating and left plastic dust on clothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the breakfast was delicious and the shower was very nice . and the Christmas decoration on the street was so beautiful
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything. Staff friendly and professional. Very quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Tiny parking spaces in lot. Low clearance in underground lot.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Cosy room, great breakfast, excellent stuff, very good location
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Terrific breakfast. Great staff
Cons: Lobby needs work
Excellent 8.5
Pros: Location Friendly staff Breakfast Clean. Good value for the superb local
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Enjoyed being on the 4th floor with high ceilings and skylight
Cons: Scrambled eggs were kind of bland Maybe some variety of sauces to spice them up a bit
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Everything was great!
Cons: One of the breakfast staff was rude. He took breakfast a little too seriously.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the best breakfast and dining place I've ever been too. Very clean and best supervised. Food is always replenished. Never ran out. Definitely will comeback. Best location. Staff very friendly. Room is clean and comfortable.
Good 7.0
Pros: Fantastic location, clean room, comfortable bed. Good selection of breakfast items.
Cons: Way overpriced for age and style of hotel.
Excellent 8.2
Pros: Being able to park the car and have a base to explore Victoria on foot. The savings allowed us to have a spa day and afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel. The breakfast buffet had good variety and well attended.
Cons: The pool area should have some lounge chairs and a bit more privacy.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We really liked the location of the hotel. Close to everything we wanted to go to or see. Free breakfast and ample free parking too was a plus.
Cons: The closet was only about a foot from the side of the bed. It made it hard to get in to. But all the plusses of the hotel made it insignificant.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved the Jacuzzi, the exceptional breakfast and the overall setting (historic landmark building in nice and quiet, yet central neighbourhood of Victoria. Everything interesting within walking reach. Staff really friendly.
Good 7.0
Pros: The library was gorgeous. Breakfast was nice.
Cons: I found a male underware in a drawer. It was quite an unexpected and unpleasant surprise. We were a company of mom and daughter and we didn't expect to see man's underpants... Orange juice was served at a room temperature during breakfast. It could have been cooler...
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: both room and bathroom are big.
Cons: carpet, electrical plugs, breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful room, accommodating staff, wonderful breakfast. Everything was great.
Cons: Wish there was a savoury option for breakfast.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay. Charming room, very comfortable bed, great breakfast. Crystal was very friendly and helpful. We were in the Emily car room and are fans of her art so we were happy with our room. And the fresh flowers were a lovely touch.
Cons: The only thing missing was a bathmat.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The quiet nature of the location. Very close to downtown, and yet, felt like we were out in the suburbs. Got great sleep, and would have been better if the pillows were up to snuff. The breakfast was fabulous, and the service was very friendly. The rooms were very spacious and lots of light coming in. The decor is very old, and the building has a very cool vibe.
Cons: The pillows could use replacement. As well, there wasn't a running refrigerator in the room, or ice on premises. Since we are used to these amenities at even roadside motels, we felt these things should be present.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful old house with lovely antique decor. Rooms unique and comfortable. Breakfast included. Close to downtown. Free parking.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: A choice for breakfest would be nice or even getting told what was breakfest. Was not a eggs Benny fan felt bad when had to send back. staff fixed it and scrambled it for me. Prefer simple bacon over locks and spicy ham
Cons: Breakfest. No choice and no bacon. Cannot be a great breakfest without bacon

Good 7.0
Pros: Great location for exploring downtown Victoria attractions Clean, quiet self-contained room. Excellent communication from management
Cons: - large soaker tub hot water pressure was poor, but separate shower pressure was good.
Good 6.0
Pros: The location of the room was within walking distance to the downtown area and Beacon Hill Park. The outdoor space was charming as was the appearance of the exterior of the home and the grounds.
Cons: For those who appreciate less contact with proprietors/staff during covid, this accommodation would suit. I personally found not having any contact with staff VERY strange - everything was done via phone/email/texting??!! Room was quite tiny and furniture too large for the space. Closet kitchen (literally in the closet) although appreciated and fairly well stocked, was a bit scary as they had a power bar for the microwave, mini-fridge and kettle. We tripped the breaker when using the kettle and microwave at the same time. Luckily we found the breaker panel and could restore the power. As well, not having the closet space diminished the storage space for our luggage. Although the room appeared quite quaint at first glance, it was not the cleanest and there were stains on the poor quality sheets on the bed. The bed was VERY soft as were all of the pillows. The bare minimum of towels were supplied for two people (1 hand towel, 2 face clothes and 2 bath towels). Thought this would be more of a boutique hotel experience but it was really more of a budget boutique hotel at the price of boutique hotel. As well, there was a $10/nt charge for parking. Stayed in much nicer accommodation while in Victoria (also very well located) for less and it had FREE parking! Was really looking forward to our stay here but left feeling rather disappointed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location was ideal to walk to sights and shopping. The underground parking was secure and convenient. We enjoyed the setting in a heritage home. The fireplace was a bonus.
Cons: We wish breakfast had been provided. Suggest a touchless breakfast-in-a-bag drop off which worked well for us at inns elsewhere during covid. While sound proofing was generally good, heavy footsteps from persons upstairs were frequently heard.
Poor 1.0
Pros: Close proximity to the harbour area.
Cons: The furniture and decor is dated, worn, mismatched and musty smelling. Bedding was mismatched and worn looking. The carpet is riddled with stains. Our suite had you entering right into the bathroom. Parking is complicated if you drive a larger vehicle.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The place had character and a wonderful claw bathtub. The location was excellent. It was close to downtown and yet in a quiet neighborhood. We did not need a car.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great room, fabulous location.
Cons: The logistics of getting in your room and parking are too complicated and virtually impossible without a cell phone. I know most people have one but not everybody does. I arrived a little early and had no idea how to proceed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location, the patio and tea service.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: the lower courtyard with BBQ and bistro table . Locations was perfect for our dog being across the street from beacon hill park and it was within walking distance to our favourite dog friendly breakfast place - Floyd’s
Cons: the blinds on the windows don’t offer complete privacy
Okay 5.0
Pros: Excellent location. Quiet.
Cons: No breakfast. Our experience has been at least a bagged breakfast was available. The parking fee could have been waived since breakfast was not provided. Lack of cleanliness in general. Baseboards and around the shower door were not properly cleaned. When the toilet flushed the shower did not work. Cold wter tap on sink only dribbled out water.
Good 6.0
Pros: We stayed for one night in the Emily Carr room, which was comfortable and in an excellent, central location, with no need to use our car once it was parked . (Parking in a secured space was an extra $10 per night above the accommodation cost.)
Cons: Unfortunately, I am a light sleeper and had a poor sleep here, as the person above us seemed to be pacing the (wood?) floor and occasionally dropping or banging things from the late evening until 2 AM.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This small, charming hotel is in the perfect location to explore Victoria by foot. The room I stayed in, Renoir Retreat, had lots of character and was quiet and cool. The amenities were good for doing your own breakfast.
Cons: I'm not a fan of the huge bathtub that took up lots of room, but I can see that for some, it would be an asset.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: This hotel had exceeded my expectations. I was going through a separation and not have an apartment and stuff oh no I believe we’re so kind to me when I was at my lowest. It was huge I love that it came with a kitchenette the bathroom amenities were wonderful and I absolutely loved the conditioner. It was wonderful to enjoy having a coffee maker and being near an exit was fantastic from coming and going after the long shifts can work. Thank you Royal Scot you have a beautiful property and I’m so thankful for your kindness.
Cons: Zero complaints
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location is great. The hotel is good in terms of basic accommodation.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location
Cons: The weather.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location is great, very friendly staff
Cons: It’s a bit outdated
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The room was very clean. When I booked online the price was less than when what I actually paid. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to get into the different pricing as we had a family commitment. Would I return, yes but I would confirm the price at time of booking.
Cons: Every thing was fine. Perhaps a free coffee station in the lobby for the early risers.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: we got a king room with kitchenette which we used extensively! .... loved having this. Easy access from parking. Loved location. Had umbrellas for the rain. Great Value. tons of closet space... this is a suite room so different than a smaller room.
Cons: Non Secure internet... husband was concerned he had been hacked... contacted tech support but they did not provide any help. 2 large wing back chairs in the suite, which were comfortable but took up a lot of room.
Excellent 10.0
The hotel is extremely close to major attraction in Victoria, it is in heart of Victoria city. Highly recommended hotel for everyone who visits Victoria. I don’t have anything negative to say about it, the hotel is that good. Rooms, furniture are high end and luxurious. Staying in this hotel is worth every penny. Highly recommended.
Excellent 10.0
Extremely nice room, great location.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room number 200 was amazing. Kitchen Bedroom (California King) Dining Room Living Room. Very Clean
Cons: Nope
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was more an apartment than a room. full kitchen and living room. felt like you were at home. You could really relax.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location. Spacious suite with stocked kitchen, pull-out couch. Nice pool, sauna, hot tub.
Cons: Could use a refresh (it's old feeling) however I'm afraid that will raise the price too much.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: friendly staff that was engaging and knew so much about the area
Cons: room decor was slightly old, nothing modern yet comfortable reminded me of a grandma's house
Excellent 9.0
Pros: its location
Cons: resturant I asked about nuts, as a VERY SERIOUS Mgr recommended that I dine elsewhere. That says to me, his kitchen may not be as clean as it should be. at least he understands the ramifications, dead customers don't bring good reviews
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very clean and nicely layed out
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Great staff.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Just a short walk from Parliament, harbor, and all the fun of Victoria. Found several nice markets nearby as well. Clean apartment-type room. Very clean with a great little kitchenette! Quaint, cute, charming, nice parking.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: I loved the style of the house and it was really well located, within a walking distance of all activities. I enjoyed the possibility to have an afternoon tea or rent a bike nearby. I found the decor quaint and charming (if you want modern, wrong place). the breakfast was of fine quality (delicious tea and scone) and very English although a bit small.
Cons: I didn’t like the fact that the internet was cutting off a lot and that I could hear everything happening in the corridor. I wasn’t warned at the desk that there would be no housekeeping because of covid, which is fine but had i known I would have made the bed as to not come back to a room undone at the end of the day. I couldn’t reach reception when internet and the TV went down, and didn’t have any commercial gesture for the inconvenient caused…
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location , quiet and suite had a balcony overlooking the harbour . Complimentary breakfast in their tea room with a view of the gardens and harbour was really nice . Suite had everything we needed .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a 1- bedroom suite with a small balcony overlooking the inner harbour. Just lovely! The room was guaint, clean and quiet. The breakfast was different and interesting, and we had a wonderful server helping us.
Good 6.0
Pros: Staff easily arranged to move from noisy room
Cons: The noisy fan outside the first room 2 The bath plug that did not fit in second room 4 The tangle of wires and plug extensions and the kettle lead that would not reach!
Poor 1.0
Pros: The location but we were disappointed

Excellent 10.0
Pros: You can't beat the location! The kitchenette provided offers everything you need for a couple of nite stay. The most doggy friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. We can't say enough about the staff, they were so helpful when our pup had a very unexpected seizure. Thankfully she is o.k.:) We will definitely be back!
Cons: The restaurant wasn't open which would have been nice, but there are so many other places close by that it really wasn't an issue.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location close to Harbour and restaurants
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Noisy if you staying in the front ! Street traffic- delivery trucks
Excellent 8.0
Cons: If the room is not cleaning everyday the hotel won't have any difference with an AIRBNB
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Spacious apartment. Great balcony. Very comfy. Beds are a little firm, but still comfortable.
Cons: Don't plan on using the pull out couch unless you are a light child. My body is in pain today. Usual springs issue, but there were some interesting warp issues as well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good location, comfortable accommodations, front desk that knows how to address any issues. Hands down best of 3 hotels we have stayed in Victoria.
Good 6.0
Cons: All rooms on Oswego street are noisy
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The suite was incredible, bigger than most apartments I rented in my twenties and thirties. I would have been very happy to move in and stay for months. The location is prime and it is on a quiet street which was extremely peaceful.
Cons: There was no breakfast that I opted for. I went to Starbucks instead. I was disappointed that the restaurant was closed as well and there was no room service.
Good 7.0
Pros: Great location, parking was good. we didn't try the restaurant, no comment there. Room was very clean with a good view. checking in & out was very smooth.
Cons: The reception area was so small. Over all it was good
Excellent 10.0
I loved our stay at the Oswego. Rooms were super clean, spacious and access to kitchenette is invaluable. Hotel is located at the perfect spot in Victoria. Just off the main road and next to everything that is a must see. Looking forward to going back.
Excellent 8.4
We loved staying at the Oswego; we would go again and recommend others to do so as well. The room was great as well as the service. Because of COVID, they've suspended food services after 2pm and haven't really updated that on the website. Wish they had, because it was one of the selling points for us. Also, there were no blackout curtains in our room. So, if you're planning to rest, beware of East facing windows and a bed that might be right next to it. Bring an eye mask with you just in case. Overall, and all things considered, the staff was very friendly and absolutely helpful. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed and all of the furniture was super comfy, clean and well-kept. The hotel is beautiful and very well located; right in the middle between Downtown and the fisherman's wharf. Enjoy!
Okay 5.4
Cons: Room was not ready when we arrived , bedding ex sheets and duvet were horrible
Excellent 10.0
Pros: On the edge of the James Bay neighborhood, the Oswego is in walking distance to the Parliament, downtown, Chinatown and all the ferry and seaplane services in the inner harbor. Our family of four were very comfortable in the 1BR premium suite. The bistro is great for a cocktail with locals or a morning coffee. The concierge will hold your bags while you walk and shop if you’ve got a late clipper departure. We’ll be back!
Good 7.6
Parking was quite expensive. We had a small bite to eat on arrival which was ok , but breakfast was really forgettable and we ended up organising our own breakfast in the room We were somehow booked into a very large suite, when I asked about this the information was not very helpful and so made our stay more expensive than necessary
Excellent 9.7
Pros: A comfortable suite is much better value for the money than a single room. Very clean and well decorated with neutral colours, granite counter... way better than a stark white wall. Bed was comfortable. Location is great, centrally located but not a crazy busy/noisy street. Great walking around James Bay and Fisherman's Wharf. I really, REALLY like that they take dogs too. The suite was super clean, no sign of dogs from other people which I liked (even though I have a dog)!
Excellent 10.0
Cons: I didn't like how in the morning I tried calling and calling but no one answered as I had to catch a 7am and was told the night before someone would be there all night but when I called at least 9 times no one picked up until 5:50 am and all I wanted to do was check out and leave

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Despite the fact that they givent us the right room type, our hotel stay was very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equiped which gave us the oppertunity to cook some fresh meals for our 11 months old son. The location is just perfect. Only 1 block away from the Inner Harbour. Also a laundry machine available which is a big plus during a road trip. So for a 2 star property, the accomodation is highly recommended!
Cons: We reserved a king room, they gave us a twin bedded room. This was done by more families during check in. As they were fully booked, they were not able to give us the correct room type. However, eventually they gave us a 10% refund to compensate.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Excellent location! Easy access to Beacon Hill Park (right across the street) and Royal BC Museum. Also within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and a variety of other attractions in the downtown area. The room was very large with a comfy bed and a good size kitchenette.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: location, full kitchen, very quiet
Cons: needs just a few small things to make it better: soap dish, robe hook, and perhaps a mattress topper as it was very firm
Good 7.0
Pros: The staff were really helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfy.
Cons: The matress of the bed was super old
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Awesome location, quiet with comfy beds and well equipped kitchenette. I appreciate that the suite was nicely furnished.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location
Cons: Very cold when we arrived. Needed more blankets on the bed.
Excellent 8.0
The inn was nice. The room was a bit old but was clean enough. Very close to the downtown and the shopping area.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was excellent and the rooms are really nice.
Cons: No
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Seems like we had got a double booking, and they were very good and said they would take care of it
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Prefect in the center of activities. Older buildings, but beautifully updated.
Cons: Had to walk outside from office to room and to some other rooms.
Excellent 8.6
Pros: central location but quiet setting

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff was amazing. The view and balcony were fabulous.
Cons: I thought the room would have been larger. The chair seemed to be sat out. Two would have been nice. The balcony needs a table for morning cup coffee/evening glass of wine:)
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location was great walking distance to many sites
Cons: Very clorinated hot tub and pool, eyes burned a little and saw dead skin floating in hot tub, was a little off putting.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: location, room size and amenities
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great location, didn’t have a great view
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great place. Nice room. Nice people
Cons: Dinning room weak. Nice service. Food, facility, only ok
Excellent 10.0
The staff is very helpful and patient. The rooms are great and very clean. The hotel is in a great location, right at the habour with wonderful views.
Excellent 9.6
Perfect location, cleanliness was one of the best I've ever visited places, all the staffs were amazing. Had dinner and breakfast at the pacific restaurant and truly enjoyed all the menus. Every famous places were in a walking distance, so we went back and forth to change our outfits depends on the weather. I really hope to try the swimming pool after pandemic. Cheers!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location location location
Cons: No
Okay 5.2
The room was mediocre for the price. The location was good and the pool and gym were good but the bed was rock hard, no view, thought it came with continental breakfast in the price. Price wasn’t worth just good amenities.
Good 6.4
Our stay was quiet and peaceful and that was nice. Hotel's location was also great. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. However breakfast food choices were limited, and the sausage did not taste fresh.
Excellent 10.0
We are longtime fans of the GP. Facilities including pool etc are second to none, great service, and the kitchen prepares very high end offerings for those wanted to dine-in.
Good 6.0
Pros: Its close to everything
Cons: Its kinda expensive for it’s price i mean you can get same type of room and experience to other hotels with cheaper rates

Cons: No
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location is great. Gym open late. Swimming pool indoors.
Excellent 10.0
Hotel staff was excellent. There is an outdoor dining area with fire pits that is perfect for dinner or cocktails. The only down side to our stay was the lack of service in the outside area one night however the very next night service was outstanding. I guess anyone can have an off night. We had views of both the harbor and from the balcony a nice view of the Parliament. Price was very reasonable. Overall it was a very good stay. This hotel has a location second only to that of the Empress in one of the most popular, beautiful, city centres in the world. Good service, good food.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is great!
Cons: I dont like this booking system and won''t use it again!
Okay 4.0
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed was very hard not comfortable at all as I would expect from a hotel of this caliber and price. Also, doesn't appear to have had a re-model in a long time, still have old short toilets not new elongated models. Just not what I expected for $---- night.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location was perfect!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Close to everything
Cons: Bed was toohard
Excellent 10.0
For all who value natural settings, this is the place to be. I could not get enough of the environment. Beauty Redefined I want to be in Victoria to relax next summer when I have a vacation
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly staff. Loved the pool and facilities. Could cater a bit more for children.
Cons: Nope. Beautiful place, fabulous staff and location is prime area.
Excellent 10.0
The refurbished harbour view suite we had was large and spacious. The views from the many smaller older style windows, and the balcony were excellent. We had unobstructed harbour and Parliament House views. I recommend the corner harbour suites right next to Parliament House. The suite had an unusual design though, possibly due to the location of the room. For example, the bathroom running along the back of the bedroom and part of the living area. The children loved being able to run circles around the suite as a result. The living area was large and unfortunately the sofa didn’t really look out. There was a comfortable swivel chair allowing you to enjoy the view and/or company. The renovation is lovely and fresh. Not the most exciting new furnishings, but lovely wallpaper and comfortable sofa and swivel chair. Not opulent, but more than simple modern. The hotel has a great location next to the harbor, including the clipper ferry terminal and easy walk to downtown. On the downside, the buffet breakfast was average, although the smoothies were tasty. The al la carte quinoa, goats cheese, miso eggplant etc salad for an excellent breakfast. I would have it again in a heartbeat. The bed was really and unpleasantly hard. I am all for a supportive bed, however this bed was simply hard, with a thin comfort layer on top. As a significant side issue, we had chosen Grand Pacific Hotel due to its pool for our three-year old while our one-year old napped. The pool was how we sold the entire trip to our three-year old. We booked through Clipper Vacations and were not informed that the pool was unavailable for annual maintenance during our stay, however the hotel website did not display any warning unless you went through to make a booking. The hotel sought to make amends for the most part, and my husband and daughter walked in the rain each day to a hotel ten minutes away. On the last day the pool in the other hotel was also closed. Grand Pacific should have been aware of that
Excellent 10.0
We really liked this place. The room was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. We had a room facing the harbor, so the view was nice. We were going to do Afternoon Tea at the Empress, which we've done more than a few times, but noticed they did it at The Grand Pacific also. So that was a really nice find and the Tea and the three tier tray was tasty to say the least. The server we had for Tea was really good. We will be staying here again, and I recommend it to anyone.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Extremely attractive hotel with perfect location by the waterfront. Easy walking distance all over town. We enjoyed our room overlooking the harbor. Gracious, helpful staff. We were happy with the Courtyard Cafe, which provided good sandwiches, coffee, and dessert for low-key suppers. Island Time Tours, booking right there in the Grand Pacific, took us to Butchart Gardens and picked us up again at our requested time. What a very nice arrangement. When it was time to leave Victoria, we chose the Victoria Airport YYJ Shuttle as more economical than a taxi. The Shuttle arrived at the front door and delivered us to the airport comfortably and in good time. We were happy in every way with our four nights at the Grand Pacific and would gladly stay there again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: super close to everything tourists do
Excellent 8.5
Pros: Staff was great and very helpful suggesting restaurants and activities. We were able to arrange A late checkout and keep our car parked. The location was excellent and there are a lot of nearby restaurants. We had a great time.
Cons: Facilities are undergoing a major remodel. A bit noisy in the morning since they start early
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Staff were excellent location was excellent
Cons: Curtains were torn
Good 6.8

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location, clean, friendly staff
Cons: Fridge noise. Wrong place for it. Who puts the fridge where the night table should be?
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was a great location and the staff were super friendly. Would stay here again. They were great with our dog too.
Okay 5.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and welcoming!
Cons: The room was not clean ~ especially the bathroom. Hair and dirt on floor, shower needed a scrub. Not happy.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly. Greeted us daily by name. Close to restaurants though the meal in the hotel Palm restaurant was one of the best we had. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Front desk staff are great. Enes (Front Desk Supervisor) even risked life and limb when he stopped my parked car from rolling downhill! They very quickly moved me to another room when I mentioned that my AC fan was a bit loud. The rooms themselves are very pleasant, spacious, well furnished and appointed, modern yet still retaining touches of the heritage nature of the original building. The bistro/restaurant off the lobby is very pleasant with a variety of drinks and food items. Well worth the stay (second time this summer).
Cons: Nothing really. Some might consider the area around the hotel a bit dodgy but it also has lots of interesting small businesses and restaurants, Mountain Equipment Coop and Chinatown
Good 6.0
Pros: Central location to most of city centre. Beds were comfortable and bathroom big.
Cons: Floor’s creaked. Building old but not updated. Bathroom Hvac whistles all night. Windows too old to be on main street. Elevator tiny. No parking on site.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: perfect downtown location, walking distance to everything
Cons: hotel has no parking
Okay 5.0
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good breakfast options ; coffee, tea, juice, pastries, fruit, yougurt. Great location. Able to walk everywhere. Valet parking worth it ; $16/day anyways to park in the parkade nearby, so pay the $22 and they can park and bring you your car. Just call down or ask at front desk for when you want to pick it up.
Cons: Add more breakfast options. Or have restaurant open for some grill or griddle options.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff
Cons: No
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Central location. Coupons for breakfast and booze. Friendly staff. Interior located room was quiet.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a hidden gem of a hotel. By getting a little bit away from the downtown crowds, it was very quiet--but not too far away to walk back to any attraction or site in town. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. The guestrooms are huge & comfortable.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The heated floors in the bathroom....lol no joke! The cheese plate at 5pm was also nice. Breakfast was also very good.
Cons: TINY ROOM, asked for room with view, got to look at brick wall. Much better deals in Victoria...look hard.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was great. Room very clean.
Cons: A lot of street noise. Staff not too helpful on tourist requested information.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved our stay at Hotel Rialto. The location is fantastic, it's in downtown Victoria and we were able to walk to pretty much everything except Butchart Gardens. Our room was clean and beautiful, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the food in the breakfast room was good. Parking was very close by in a reasonably priced garage (hourly, up to $12/day as of August 2015). I loved Victoria and plan to go back, and when I do I will stay at the Rialto!
Good 6.8
Pros: Staff was great
Cons: Shower drained very slow causing over an inch of water to pool in the bottom every time you used it. Bed was not comfy at all. Room was a lot smaller than i expected.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The restaurants downstairs were fantastic! The bathrooms had radiant heated floors, which was a nice touch.
