Great location and value
The location is great - right next to the Convention center. We had a standard queen bed suite. Definitely used to be apartments. Bathroom had been updated and the shower was cool. A really good value for the money even though it was definitely different from your standard hotel room. Kitchen was well equipped.
Construction is noisy and goes on from 7a-7p. The decor isn't really updated...our suite looked like an old apartment with wood paneling on the walls. No TV in the bedroom in our suite.
Let us check out early with no problem
Bedsheets were torn and stained including with blood! Were told cleaning is outsourced but they should do a better job of replacing such items. Floor tiles were sticky and could barely see the poor goldfish in the tank at the front desk their water was so cloudy. Should have taken that as a clue.
The Eldon Suites is a great hotel. The rooms are big and clean. The building is a 5 minute walk from the convention center, which was perfect for me as a conference exhibitor. The adjacent building was under construction the whole time, but that is only temporary and not The Eldon Suite's fault. The room was VERY well lit, which is a typical problem in hotels. The water pressure was high and delivered very hot water. The extremely hot showers at the end of the long work days were much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.
The blinds in my specific room didn't completely block out view of the adjacent building which was under construction. I felt like workers could look into my room. I understand that's quite common in DC, but it was a little distracting. Otherwise, I really liked my room at the Eldon Suites.
This hotel was perfect. The metro was two blocks away. All in all I would recommend this to anyone.
The wifi was a bit slow and you don't get any wifi signal in the bedroom
Short But Very Nice Experience
Front desk staff were positive and upbeat. I was upgraded to the Penthouse Suite for no additional charge which was unexpected and very nice.
It was actually better then the picture and I thought the picture was nice. Living space large and attractive; the kitchen area was beautiful. And the shower was great.
Difficult to park
Very comfortable main bedroom and fully equiped kitchen. Close to metro station. Very helpful staff
Lots of noise from fridge for person sleeping in sofa bed. No restaurants close by.
Good value accomodation for our family (2 adults and 1 teenager) giving us 2 separate rooms with the ability to cook some basic meals. Continental breakfast was included in the price and consisted of a selection of pastries, toast, juice, tea and coffee. We were near a metro station and all the major sights of Washington making this a great base.
One end of the road (that nearest the convention centre) was a bit seedy and rundown. Buildings were boarded up and looked desolate.
Spacious suite, close to metro station , very helpful staff
breakfast room too small but I understand this is being rectified. Would have liked better info in rooms regarding local amenitis such as a super, marrket
the proximity to the convention center and to the commercial areas. I love the shower it has the best water pressure. Also the convenience of the kitchen, microwave and the refrigerator.
There was no lobby like the other luxurious hotels, also the breakfast area is too small, need more than pastries, boiled eggs would have been better to start the day, and also the pull up sofa needs to be changed we ended up sleeping on the floor because the mattress like lost its cushion that the wires sticks your back when you lay down on it.
The hotel is located in a very convenient place, 5 minutes from the metro and 10 minutes from Chinatown. The room was very clean, very classy and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The decor was modern and interesting and is was close to a Metro stop. The front desk people were helpful.
It was nosy and there were a number of abandoned buildings next door that are awaiting refurbishment. We had to ask to have the beds made. The breakfast is very continental. There was little variety and no protein.
Our stay was most pleasant in every respect. Location was paramount.
Some of the furniture was scaled to smaller people and really not to American standards
The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was a good lay out. Very good location as well.
The fitness room is not really a fitness room. It just had a treadmill a stationary bike that did not work and two bowflex machines. I was very dissapointed
The hotel has purchased neighboring buildings and they are about to be torn down or at least that is what I was told. This gives the appearance of a run down area. Once you enter the Eldon, you understand how it got the great reviews it has. Everything was perfect and more than expected. The convetion center was one block away and I walked every where I went. The Eldon was much nicer than the other hotels in the area and through bookings.com, it was half the price.
I love small boutique hotels and so glad to see that Washington finally has one. I stay in them as much as I can on my travels. Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room - great location
